Trial of the One-Hit Obliterator
Link struggles through the most dangerous part of the trial given to him by Sheikah Monk Maz Koshia.
Tropes:
- Adaptation Deviation: Instead of getting Spirit Orbs from the new shrines on the Great Plateau, he receives one of each of the Divine Beast Emblems. Although Hylia still gives him extra strength.
- Advancing Wall of Doom: Link has to sprint away from a spiked wall down a narrow path over a bottomless pit. Since Link is a One-Hit-Point Wonder at this point, getting hurt by that would kill him.
- Blackout Basement: The final shrine, Etsu Korima Shrine, is enshrouded in complete darkness with very little light aside from Link's glowing weapon.
- The Bus Came Back: Kass and Link finally reunite.
- Cast from Hit Points: The One-Hit Obliterator drains nearly all of Link's Life Energy.
- Combat Pragmatist: Link is extremely careful about fighting, making extensive use of his bow to hit enemies from a distance.
- Connected All Along: Impa and Kass have known each other for a few years now, though Impa admits that at that point, he hasn't seen her newly de-aged body.
- Elemental Rock-Paper-Scissors: When Link is on Mount Hylia, Link uses fire weapons to vanquish several foes at the same time.
- Glass Cannon: Exaggerated. Link can kill almost anything in just one hit, but he will also die to a single strike.
- Power Tattoos: Link loses them, meaning that the Champions can't help him, and nor can the Wolf Spirit. He regains them once he completes the four new Great Plateau trials.
- Race Against the Clock: Impa and Link know that time is running out, since Calamity Ganon's spectral form manifests yet again around Hyrule Castle.
- Super-Empowering: Hylia grants Link and Impa their final blessings. She gives Link more vitality and stamina, and blesses Impa's weapon to become the kodachi version of the Master Sword.
- Title Drop: Kass title drops the story's title in dialogue when he sings to Link.
- Undeathly Pallor: Link isn't dead, but he's extremely close to death for this entire chapter, and he's visibly pale as a result of the life drain.
