A Corrupted Generation

The strongest living heroes in Hyrule band together for one final fight with the most powerful members of the Yiga Clan and their devious creations.

Tropes:

  • Adaptational Explanation: Patricia in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity can just swim through anything as if it were water or sand. The Bridle of the Seven is given the power to transform the landscape around her into desert sand, allowing Patricia easy mobility, and allowing Riju to ride a shield without it begin wrecked.
  • Classical Anti-Hero: Once Yunobo overcomes his terror of fighting Hollow Daruk, he realizes the full extent of his capability, and fights back with ferocity until he wins the fight.
  • Cliffhanger: The chapter ends with Paya touching the newly purified Sheikah Orb and suddenly something happens to her when she does.
  • Combat Pragmatist: Terrako, Cerako, and Argiko, since they're so small, use ambush tactics to fight the giant Malice Guardians.
  • Counterpart Combat Coordination: Aside from Link and Hestu's group, everyone fights their Evil Counterpart.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Teba's fight with Hollow Revali is hardly a fight, as Teba easily destroys it.
  • Demonic Possession: Astor's Malice Orb was never truly his but something that had been infected with Malice and taken by Astor. Link exorcises the Malice from it, turning it into the Sheikah Orb.
  • Evil Knockoff: Astor creates the Hollows to attack the heroes physically and psychologically.
  • Four Lines, All Waiting: There are several different groups of heroes fighting on the Great Plateau.
    • Link fights Sooga, Kolana, and Astor personally.
    • Sidon and Lochlia fight Hollow Mipha.
    • Riju and Buliara fight Hollow Urbosa.
    • Teba fights Hollow Revali.
    • Yunobo fights Hollow Daruk.
    • Hestu, Paya, Purah, and Impa fight Hollow Link.
    • Terrako, Cerako, and Argiko fight Malice Guardians of all three variants.
  • Hollywood Acid: Hollow Mipha's "water" is actually a powerful acid.
  • Internal Reveal: Link finally learns that Impa has been de-aged.
  • Involuntary Group Split: Astor divides the entire group of heroes by turning the Great Plateau into a huge collection of boulders that split up everyone.
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: The Hollows are made of Malice, which is outright described as being blood red and black instead of magenta.
