The Disenthralling of Ruta

Like moves in to free Divine Beast Vah Ruta from the control of Calamity Ganon.

Tropes:

  • Adaptation Distillation: Link is no longer alone, as Cerako is in the Divine Beast with him. As a result, many of the gratuitous puzzles are solved by her and Link working together, and some of them are just footnotes, streamlining the story of being within the Divine Beast.
  • Adaptational Intelligence: Since Link can actually swim underwater, Waterblight Ganon pokes at the water as if fishing to try and get him out.
  • All Too Easy: Link realizes that he had way too easy a time activating the terminals in Ruta and is immediately suspicious that something is off.
  • An Ice Person: Ruta fires off blocks and maces of ice at Link, Lochlia, and Sidon during their battle against the Divine Beast itself.
  • Combat and Support: Link and Sidon are the combat, working together to stop the flow of Ruta's water. Lochlia is the support, making sure that no ice blocks come near the two as they keep going. Later, Cerako plays support to Link's combat while they're in the Divine Beast.
  • Exposition Fairy: Mipha adopts this role during Link's trek through Ruta.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: The battle against Waterblight Ganon is very one-sided, with Link and Cerako's teamwork outright overpowering it in the first segment of the fight, and all it takes is one tag team attack to end it in the second segment.
  • He Was Right There All Along: Link heads into the chamber with unease, wondering what might manifest here. When nothing happens, he hurries to activate the main control unit... and that's when Waterblight Ganon makes its presence known to him.
  • It's Personal: Link hates Waterblight Ganon because it killed the mother of his child.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: Lochlia doesn't bother trying to go after the ice maces, since their spikes make it hard for her to hit it. However, one of them specifically targets her anyways.
  • Sword Beam: Link accidentally discovers that he can do this with the Master Sword.
  • Take Up My Sword: Mipha grants Link her power of healing, Mipha's Grace. He can use it to save others, and she will use it to save his life.
  • Throw Down the Bomblet: Cerako uses a Remote Bomb to destroy some Malice Eyes.
  • Undying Loyalty: Cerako sits out the fight with Ruta itself, but refuses to let Link fight Waterblight Ganon alone.
