    open/close all folders

    Amphibia
  • After The Fight, set after the events of the series, has Anne, Marcy, and Sasha in a relationship together.
  • Confessions (Amphibia) starts with Marcy and Anne both independently confessing their love for Sasha (currently imprisoned in Newtopia for leading a toad rebellion), and deciding to try out being a triad. The next 20 or so chapters are spent exploring how despite all genuinely loving each other, the trio are deeply dysfunctional on all sides, not to mention the rather strenuous political situation of a farmgirl, a member of the king's court, and a prisoner of war being in a relationship.
  • Just the Three of Us is a series of oneshots mostly, though not entirely, set with Anne, Marcy, and Sasha in a relationship that is generally functional and loving with the biggest problem typically being Marcy and Sasha also finding Anne's mother hot to Anne's utter mortification.

    Arrowverse
  • To Hell and Back (Arrowverse): In Arc IV, Oliver and Laurel (who are already an Official Couple), both come to the realization that both of them are also in love with Nyssa. Oliver fell for Nyssa during his time in the League while Laurel fell for her while Nyssa was mentoring her in Arc III. They confess the next time they meet with her, and she reciprocates, allowing them to become a happy threesome.

    Avatar: The Last Airbender
  • Among certain segments of the fan work community, the second week of October is known as "Sokkarem Week", which is dedicated to Sokka having a relationship with multiple girls at once. This is usually some combination of Suki, Yue, Toph, Ty Lee, and Azula. Some works depict the girls as not only sharing Sokka, but also being in love with one another.
  • A ship that has gained popularity is Sokka/Suki/Zuko, or "Zukki".

    Big Hero 6
  • In Who's Got My Gum, Hiro, Honey, and GoGo enter a polyamorous relationship because they're all romantically interested in one member of the triangle, but not the other (Hiro loves Honey Lemon, but not GoGo. Honey Lemon loves GoGo, but not Hiro. GoGo loves Hiro, but not Honey Lemon) and decide that it's the only way for all of them to get what they want without hurting anyone. Eventually, they all grow to romantically love the other member of their relationship, too.

    Buffy the Vampire Slayer
  • The Epilogue of I Am What I Am has this, but with a twist. Xander (who has the memories of his entire life up to his death which he has been using to alter and improve things) is now with Buffy AND Faith and it's heavily implied that all three are sharing the other two (no sex yet, though).
  • "Wuffara Chronicles" focuses on a triad relationship with Buffy, Willow and Tara based on a BDSM dynamic with Tara as the overall Mistress and Willow as the willing submissive to both women while Buffy dominates Willow and submits to Tara. It's noted that this dynamic has psychological benefits to all concerned; Tara gets a sense of power and control after being abused by her birth family, Willow has always striven to excel for attention from others, and Buffy both gets to be completely in control of something in her life by taking charge of Willow and doesn't have to be charge and responsible for everything by submitting to Tara.

    The Camp Half-Blood Series
  • In Love by the Books, Percy, Nico, and Annabeth enter a relationship with each other. Interestingly, Annabeth is the one who brings it up.
Annabeth smacked [Percy] with one of her textbooks; it was a rather thick book about sexuality in ancient Greece and Rome. "[Nico] can be your boyfriend – unless he comes to his senses – and I’ll still be your girlfriend, but if you start picking favorites we’ll have a problem."
  • Seven's a Crowd: While nothing is official yet, the three established couples (Percy and Annabeth. Jason and Piper. Frank and Hazel. And Nico) are all interested in adding Leo to their respective relationship, to the point that they all plan to date each other just so they can share him.

    Code Geass
  • In The Black Emperor, Lelouch and Milly are in an open relationship, both of them "playing with" pretty girls, sometimes together. They're also open to the idea of having relationships with sexy girls on a more permanent basis, and as of Chapter 5, they've formed a triad with Kallen.
  • Codes And Geass: Embracing Your Inner Megalomania : While polygamy is legal in Britannia, actual polyamory is somewhat rarer. Especially between all participants. Trollouche and CC manage it by being utter insatiable, sheer charisma, and including everyone involved in Zero's campaign against Britannia. There is a darker aspect in that the other people involved are emotional anchors for Trollouche keeping him from acting on his more destructive and evil impulses. Something Nunnally and CC realize is a necessity to avoid Zero becoming a greater monster than his father.
  • Code Geass: The Prepared Rebellion:
    • A major subplot is Lelouch slowly but surely getting a harem. He already has both C.C. and Sayoko sharing his bed, with more to come eventually. Considering his father has 108 consorts, it's no surprise that he's not averse to the idea.
    • It's later revealed that Britannia has a law that makes it more of an Exotic Extended Marriage, whether or not the wives and mistresses get along is another thing all together as the Emperor's consorts can attest to.
  • LivingContradictory: After finding out that Lelouch is Zero and being told by her friends that she isn't a burden to her brother and that he enjoys fighting on her behalf, Nunnally decides to help her brother's wish come true... which based on the live broadcast of Lelouch and Euphemia's private conversation is to have more than one wife and scantily clad maids. Nunnaly plans to make Sayoko, CC, Kallen, Kaguya, Milly, and Shirley into Lelouch's wives. She also plans to have her and Euphie both marry Suzaku, while Nina would start as Euphie's consort being being de-synthesize Of her xenophobia and marry Suzaku afterwards.

    • Radiant E. O. Speedwagon (now Arch-Prince Rhinwedd Llachar Grittin) ends up marrying both Gifted Goldstar and his wife Shining Settlement after they offered to include him in their relationship. While this was taboo in their time, both Gifted and Shining realized the social norms they grew up with were bigoted and toxic, and thus wanted to give their old friend a respite from all the suffering he went through. The three are presently a loving polycule, but Speedwagon struggles with doubts and insecurities due to PTSD. A [https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/974573079/5080213636 drabble]] revealed this is also the case with their alternate selves in one timeline, though it happened thousands of years earlier due to Speedwagon, Gifted, and Shining being physically disabled in some way and therefore having to rely on each other.
    • At one point, both Blue Suede/Caerulus and his husband, Stoltur, discovered their marriage was deteriorating because they were both denying their respective divine natures in order to stay together. After talking it over, they chose to have an open marriage, taking in multiple lovers and sharing them with each other. Despite outside concerns, this actually improved their relationship, as Blue Suede and Stoltur were able to fulfill their domains in constructive ways while still remaining devoted to each other. One of their more notable partners is Queen Peínagápia, a constructively evil member of the Amaredae.
  • The Devil Fruit Hero: The relationship tags list Izuku as being in romantic relationships with both Hilda and Ochako. It helps that Ochako is shown getting a Luminescent Blush around Hilda, and Izuku gets one from Ochako.
  • In the Devil May Cry and Fairy Tail Fusion Fic Fairy May Cry, Lucy and Lisanna agree to enter this kind of relationship by sharing their mutual love interest Natsu.

  • Khaos Omega pairs a lot of girls with self-based OC Jet Brazie. The top girl of the Rainbow Angels is Anise Azeat, who got the spot thanks to getting the Rainbow Omega Cannon.
    • Anise later develops her own harem subdivision, called the Amethysts (originally the Amethyst Lesbians as it was originally planned as an all-girl harem before the reveal of the male-bodied 'Division B'). Further subdivisions followed, led by Anise's Rune Angel teammates Lily (who dubbed hers the Eagle Knights) and Natsume (whose group is known as the Zephyrus Butterflies), plus fellow Project Absalon agent Kandyce (an all-bridal harem dubbed the Ultra Diamonds). The Amethysts are the only one of the subdivisions currently with a confirmed 'Alpha' (Melanie Malachite, who confirmed her status as such when she gained the Rainbow Omega Cannon during an Anise-led experiment in the Alimbic Cluster).
  • In Hero Academia D×D, it's pretty much a Foregone Conclusion that Izuku will have a harem, given he's taken the place of Chick Magnet Issei Hyoudou.
  • The Infinite Loops: While many loopers tend to stick with one partner, there are a few examples of loopers entering into one of these relationships.
    • The RWBY Loops: Both Penny and Weiss have feelings for Ruby, but due to the latter not making her feelings known, Ruby chose Penny at first. Once Weiss does reveal her feelings, Ruby happily agrees to date both, taking inspiration from how a lot of loops depicted Taiyang, Raven and Summer as having been in a similar relationship.
    • In the Danganronpa branch, both Kyoko and Mukuro developed feelings for Makoto, who was more than willing to date both, with both being happy it share him as well as there being hints that the two might also like each other.

  • Lost in Camelot sets up a triad relationship with Bo (Lost Girl), Merlin and Morgana (Merlin (2008)) after Bo is sent back to Camelot, starting with Bo and Merlin engaging in a sexual relationship to help her feed and developing an emotional bond by the time Morgana learns about their dynamic.
  • The Matrix Rewinds: Evidently, romantic/sexual relationships between three people are more commonplace in New Zion, hence Rachel/Prospera inviting Chloe to join her and Max/Noir's relationship as a compromise. He decides to discuss it with both girls to take their feelings into account, as well as considering what's a stake, but ultimately Ryoko is fine with sharing him with Mihoshi, even suggesting she would gladly join in for a threesome every once in a while. While Mihoshi's own feelings for Heero aren't fully clear, she does admit Heero fits the type of man she would like to marry and he has made her feel happy.
  • Pokémon Crossing has the main three characters end up in a polyamorous relationship at the end of chapter 24.
  • In the Worm/RWBY crossover fanfic Princess (Worm/RWBY) the end result of much ship teasing between Akelarre (formerly Taylor Hebert) and several female characters is a polyamorous relationship between her, Ruby, Velvet, and Neo.
  • The Queen Who Fell To Earth features several trios among the dragon riders, as a result of Pern's mores bleeding through their dragons. This ranges from two people of the same sex loving a person of the other sex and sharing (which happens with Harry, Hermione, and an Original Character Muggle girl) to full trios (Millicent Bulstrode with two boys).
  • In Ranma Club, Ranma and the Winx girls have happily settled into this sort of relationship. Later on, Shampoo and Ukyou join in as well.
  • Rapunzel, Elsa and Anna in The Secret Life of Punzie are high school students who eventually end up in a threeway relationship.

    Danganronpa
  • A New Hope (Danganronpa), as a massive crossover between the casts of all the games, features quite a few relationships. Hajime's care and support for Mikan eventually blossoms into a full-on relationship. Later, in chapter 54, Chiaki admits that she has feelings for him too and says she doesn't mind being player 3, but Hajime assures her it doesn't have to come to that; he loves her just as much as Mikan and the three of them get together. In Chapter 56, Makoto has Sayaka, Hina, and Mukuro all confess their feelings for him at the same time. All of them are more than alright with dating him at the same time. He admits he doesn't know if he can make all of them happy at once, but promises to do everything in his power to try.
  • In A Student Out of Time, following their escape from the Neo World Program, Hajime entered into a fivesome with Mahiru, Hiyoko, Mikan, and Sonia. The latter is also in a relationship with Gundham. While Hajime's now set on changing the past, he admits he still loves them all and hints that he may attempt to rebuild his harem in the new timeline. He later manages to get back together with Mikan, Sonia, and Hiyoko, now with the addition of Chiaki, Gundham and Hibiki Otonokoji. Mahiru, while she seemed interested, ultimately gets together with Sato.
  • The spin-offs of Everyday Life with Ultimate Girls sees Makoto end up in a harem relationship with 30 girls. In the fic proper, his harem extends to 15. The actual mega-lemon is in a separate related fic, and instigated by consumption of a fruit with aphrodisiac properties.

    Danny Phantom
  • In Lady Luck's Favor, Danny befriends Desiree, then idly wishes that he was always lucky with girls as he flies off, unaware that Desiree is still within earshot. She grants his wish, and from that moment on, Danny finds himself in an open sexual relationship with practically every female in the series (according to Word of God, Maddie (his mother), Jazz (his older sister) and Dani (his Plasmius-created female clone) are included in the list of girls he will have eventually have sex with).

    DC Comics
  • Earth-27:
    • John Constantine and Zatanna Zatara aren't exclusive with each other, since John is spiritually married to Epiphany Graves and is still involved with the demon Rosacarnis, while Zatanna is lovers with Nick Necro and Rory Regan. This is actually far from rare for magic users.
    • Both the Riddler and Two-Face are in polyamorous relationships; Nygma is involved with his two lieutenants Query and Echo, while Dent is dating his lieutenants Sugar and Spice.
    • Since she couldn't choose between her two lovers, Scandal Savage is married to both Knockout of Apokalypse and Emily Nashton/Enigma.
  • In Green's My Favorite Color, Catwoman mentions that she's dating two men. One is implied to be Batman, but whether the other is his alter ego Bruce Wayne or not isn't mentioned.

    Discworld

    Doctor Who
  • In the first chapter of fanfic "Come And Knock On Our Door" by Maribor (the title is an homage to Three's Company), Amy attempts to seduce the Doctor. When he protests that she's married, she answers, "We talked. He's on board." The story, along with the sequel "Man About the House" explore the Doctor, Amy, and Rory in a polyamorous relationship and impending parenthood (the Doctor is able to help Amy conceive despite her inability to have children, as mentioned in "Asylum of the Daleks").
  • Maribor's Epistolary: The 50 Years Before We Were Born, which follows Amy and Rory's lives after they were stranded in the past after "The Angels Take Manhattan", also implies an 11/Amy/Rory relationship existed in flashback scenes.

    Dungeons & Dragons
  • Vow of Nudity: The Jackal (a tiefling sky pirate) mentions having multiple wives in different ports across the continent, and insists they’re all aware and consenting to the situation when Haara initially interprets this as her simply being a serial womanizer.

     Fairy Tail
  • Magma Dragon King: Natsu has formed romantic relationships with Lisanna, Mirajane, Cana, and Erza before the series' canonical beginning.
  • One Word to Change the World: It's heavily implied that Erza, Jellal and Simon are in a romantic trio here.

    Frozen (2013)
  • In the fanfic Sorry About The Mess, this is how the trolls view marriage and relationships in general, with wives having multiple husbands while any one of those husbands may have multiple other wives as well. Kristoff says that for a time he had five fathers and three mothers.

Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation: Mo Dao Zu Shi / The Untamed
  • In An Acceptable Arrangement, the Nie parents start out with Nie Hongshan married to two women. They later become a throuple when Hou Yue and Sun Qiu fall in love as well.
  • In And Time Is But A Paper Moon, Jiang Cheng, Wen Qing, and Lan Xichen eventually get together. Only Jiang Cheng and Wen Qing are officially married, but the three of them exchange their own vows in private.
  • In call it what you want, Song Lan, Xiao Xingchen and Xue Yang are dating.
  • Gold Poisons sees the Venerated Triad as this. Lan Xichen is unambiguously with Jin Guangyao and Nie Mingjue by the end, while Guangyao and Mingjue still have some issues to work out but are in love.
  • In "A Well-Intentioned Blocking", the Venerated Triad apparently sleep with one another regularly.

    Haikyuu!!
  • In the AU fanfiction When Love Arrives, Asahi is a single dad with a baby daughter Hitoka. Asahi eventually ends up in a poly relationship with Daichi and Suga. Daichi's biological son Chikara and Hitoka later grow up as brother and sister.

    Harry Potter
  • Chapter 9 of Female Transfiguration 101 involves Ginny and Hermione inviting Luna over for a threesome.
  • Holly Potter and the Witching World is built around this. Since in this Alternate Universe, the magical world is a Lady Land where witches outnumber wizards about ten to one, the majority of them live in polygynous families called "covens," with one husband and several wives. This often leads to a bit of culture shock for Muggle-borns, who come from a society where the gender balance is a lot more equal. and most of whom grew up in traditional nuclear families. Hence, Muggle-borns are often called "Prudes" by more intolerant witch-borns, who find their ideas about monogamy rather laughable.
  • "Ménage à Quatre" reveals that polyamory is relatively common in the wizarding world and it's just that characters like Hermione don't think about it; at the start of the story, George Weasley is dating Angelina Johnson and Alicia Spinnet simultaneously, Professor Vector at Hogwarts has two husbands and Professor Sprout has two wives and a husband, and the main plot of the fic sees Harry and Ginny bring Katie Bell into their relationship.
  • In Percy Weasley and The Prefect Job That Isn't A Vanity Role, Percy ends up with his fellow Prefects Hypatia Bloom and Dilwyn Greengrass. They marry in the epilogue.
  • The Power of Seven starts when Harry learns about the horcrux in him a year in advance, inspiring Hermione to carry out her own research and determine that the horcrux can be destroyed without killing Harry if he forms a spiritual bond with seven women. With Harry already dating Ginny, Hermione quickly volunteers herself as another candidate and they swiftly approach Luna about the situation. The next three chosen for the harem are Demelza Robbins, Susan Bones and Katie Bell, and by the summer holidays events lead to Fleur Delacour leaving Bill in favour of Harry. While Harry is the core of the subsequent harem, the girls have varying levels of interest in each other; Hermione and Susan are specifically heterosexual (they have no problem watching Harry with other girls but aren't interested in doing anything sexual with them without Harry), Demelza, Fleur and Katie are at least willing to experiment, and Ginny and Luna are outright bisexual.
  • Remus Lupin, PI ends with Harry marrying both Hermione Granger and Padma Patil. During their courtship years, there are discussions about whether Luna Lovegood would join in Harry's harem, although she ultimately does not.
  • Three other stories result in Harry getting a harem for justified reasons:
    • In More Than Just Teammates, Harry discovers he is the Lord of three different bloodlines; the three wives he selects are the titular teammates, Chasers Angelina Johnson, Alicia Spinnet, and Katie Bell (all three of whom are older than him, though Katie is only one year older compared to the two of Angelina and Alicia).
    • Author Red-Jacobson's story Harry Potter and the Hogwarts Harem the Rewrite (since abandoned) has Harry fully sever his connection to Voldemort near the end of the Battle at the Department of Mysteries. The harem in this case is to help him adapt to his far larger magical core so it doesn't burn out on him. The instigator here is Luna Lovegood (also involved in the Battle and the most physically-intact behind Harry); she only made the first move because Hermione (here raised by a pre-existing harem of six Buffy characters led by Xander) was out of commission thanks to Antonin Dolohov. Confirmed girls include Susan Bones (who on Harry's request asks her aunt Amelia to run for Minister to replace Fudge), Hermione, Luna, Cho Chang (who here is revealed to be a natural submissive), and a returning Fleur Delacour (who here has broken up with Bill Weasley). Only Luna, Padma Patil, and Hermione join the harem before Harry spends his summer at a brothel to counter his new condition (as sex is a recognized cure for it); Susan went to the same brothel to help repay a loan she took out to help Hannah Abbott, with a similar financial issue (involving Draco Malfoy, who on a tip-off from his mother is arrested alongside three of his classmates) forces Pansy Parkinson there.
      • Khaos is working on a variation of this one, starting date in regards to his meta-timeline set as 2515, where XQ assists Harry while simultaneously countering an even harsher spin on Pansy's problem (orchestrated by Tracy Dennis).
    • Another Red-Jacobson story, A Dream to Remember, sees Harry develop one in a dream state as he tries to fight off a Draco-cast "Inextinguibili Raptus" curse. Khaos' version of this (set in 2693) sees the curse instead hit a distracted Anise, who manages to somehow ascend to the 'Omega Diva' state in neutralizing it... only for Draco to twice return later on and hit her with improved versions.

    Haruhi Suzumiya
  • In Kyon: Big Damn Hero, Kyon's uncle Keiichi arranges this with his aunts. Also, Haruhi is working towards this with Kyon and all females of SOS Brigade.

    Hellaverse
  • Women of Eden: After Eve's creation, Lucifer and Lilith managed to befriend her and they eventually entered into a polycute in secret. Lucifer and Lilith saw both Cain and Abel as just as much their children as they were Eve's (made more literal in Abel's case for his conspicuous blonde hair). This relationship continues in Hell, Eve being the one who named Charlie when Lilith had her.

    Hetalia: Axis Powers
  • In Gankona, Unnachgiebig, Unità, Germany, Italy, and Japan ended up in a polyamorous relationship after Germany and Japan agreed to share Italy at Italy's request.

    Higurashi: When They Cry
  • Fanfic writer DragonNinjaAri has a few loosely connected oneshots, including Cicada Psalms and Surprising Butterflies, about a poly relationship involving Keiichi, Mion, and Rena.

    Horatio Hornblower
  • Harboured & Encompassed: In the sequel, boyfriends Archie Kennedy and Horatio Hornblower get another boyfriend: Will Bush, Horatio's best friend and roommate, and they are all happy together.

    How to Train Your Dragon
  • The Savage Seas: The tags confirm that Hiccup x Astrid x Eret x Heather will eventually happen.
  • A Thing of Vikings:
    • It is indicated that on Berk, it was not uncommon for married couples to take on concubines. Having concubines was a cultural expectation among Norse chiefs, which makes Stoick's refusal to take a concubine while married to Valka highly unusual.
    • At one point, in order to reduce political tensions, Hiccup reluctantly agrees to take Wulfhild, the sister of Magnus the Good, King of Norway as a concubine after he marries Astrid. While initially their relationship is sexless, all parties involved conclude the situation as it stands causes only misery and decide to talk things out. Hiccup beds Wulfhild with Astrid's encouragement, and soon the three of them pretty much share a bed together. Astrid and Wulfhild become pregnant at the same time, and ultimately both Hiccup and Astrid realize that they have come to love Wulfhild as much as they love each other.
Fishlegs: But... isn't that weird? Sharing a bed with someone you don't love?
      Astrid: I wouldn't know.
Fishlegs: Oh. So... like your clanhead... old clanhead then?
      Astrid: Gods, this is ridiculous!
      Fishlegs: What is?
Astrid: This! Look! Two years ago, life was simple. Kill dragons, survive another day. Now... Look at us, Fishlegs. I'm married. To the guy who I used to just ignore when he messed up because he was beneath me. I'm expecting a baby by Midwinter. I've... I've fallen in love with both him and with his... our princess-concubine. And while I knew that such a thing was possible... I wasn't expecting myself to enjoy a woman's touch, you know?
    • Snotlout ends up in a four-way relationship with his legal wife Sophia, and his bodyguards Heidrun and Gunnar. All four of them are in love with the other three, but obviously can't reveal this in the conservative Roman Empire.
    • Lesbian couple Jonna and Reidun take Gobber, who is gay, as their male concubine so they can have children, but seem to genuinely enjoy his company, and he theirs.
    • Cami and Merida do the same with Eret.
    • Thuggory joins the existing relationship between Eret's brother Heike and his girlfriend Jyette, legally making them both his concubines (though it's clearly a relationship of equals, the legal titles are for inheritance's sake).
    • Picknose forms the hinge of a Sibling Triangle with sisters Mairwen and Signy...who end up being his stepsisters once their parents (Picknose's mom and dad, and the girls' mom) get together too.

    Jem
  • In Our Time Is Now, The Stingers have this type of relationship. The three have a very strong bond but Riot is still heads-over-heels for Jem because he believes that she is the perfect woman for him. In the end, he realizes that Minx and Rapture are enough for him.

    JoJo's Bizarre Adventure

    Katawa Shoujo

    Kim Possible
  • Vacation From The Norm ends with Kim, Ron and Shego in a triad relationship. At the end of the first book, Kim is in love with both Ron and Shego, who are both in love with Kim and happy to share her. During the course of Vacation From the Norm Bk. 2: Journey of Discovery, Ron admits that he shares Kim's love for Shego, who is slowly coming to fall for Ron as well, making this a true triad.
  • Kim, Ron and Shego enter into a poly relationship in Weirdbard's "Trio" series, which crosses over into various horror movie properties. At the end of the first story, "Frequency of Evil" Kim and Ron confess their love for each other, while Shego realizes she has fallen for Ron. Shego's solution to the problem in the second story, "Trio"? Seduce Kim and convince her of the benefits of a ménage a trois with Ron.

    Love Live
  • The Ginger Devil:

During her time as a mafioso and an underground singer, she would often get into three-way sex but never committed long-term as her heart belonged to her first loves.
    • From the members of Aquors, the trio of Mari, Kanan, and Dia are in a three-way relationship. The same can be said of their juniors Chika, You, and Riko

    Maria Watches Over Us

Marvel Cinematic Universe (and other Marvel films)
  • Tingle opens with Peter Parker meeting Kate Bishop at college and Yelena Belova working with Spider-Man to track a new criminal organisation, with both women developing an interest in him that Peter reciprocates even if he tries not to acknowledge it. When Spider-Man is injured protecting Yelena, his identity is revealed when she takes him to Kate's apartment for treatment. Realizing that all three of them are interested in each other, Yelena suggests they just date each other, Peter conceding that polyamory has become more publicly acceptable since the Blip saw returned spouses find that their partners had married someone else while they were "dead".
  • Another post-Blip polyamory example features in Spider-Man: Finding Home, which opens with Peter Parker dating Kate Bishop and Yelena Belova but expands to include Princess Shuri and Felicia Hardy. Some characters jokingly refer to themselves as Peter's harem as they enjoy seeing him embarrassed, even as he tries to protest that the girls are also interested in each other rather than it just being about him (Yelena concedes that she joined for Kate but was quickly won over by Peter).
  • Elsewhere across the multiverse, there are two fics that reveal Peter 2 and his MJ having an open relationship since the events of Spider-Man 3 and deciding to bring Peter 3 into the fold in order to convince him that shutting others off because of what happened to Gwen is no way to live.

    Miraculous Ladybug
  • The premise of Alya and the Harem Reality is that Alya, in a desperate attempt to stop Monarch from using the Ladybug and Black Cat Miraculous, grabs one of the Ladybug earrings while he is about to make his wish and wishes that people love Marinette instead, thinking that won't change reality too much and waste Monarch's wish. The result is an Alternate Timeline where Marinette is in a polycule with both Alya and Chloe, with implications that Kagami will later join Marinette's "harem".
  • Hero Chat:
    • The ridiculous Love Dodecahedron between Marinette, Adrien, Ladybug, Chat Noir, Luka, Viperion, Kagami, and Arashi are ultimately settled when the entire group agrees to date each other. Thankfully, the most ridiculous parts revolved around most of them not having their secret identities out in the open, and Chloe trolling them by shipping their hero identities with their civilian selves. Once their identities are revealed, they resolve everything pretty quickly.
    • Chloe theorizes that Gabriel, his wife Emilie, and his assistant Nathalie were in a triad. She doesn't think it's particularly likely, but seeing how affectionate Emilie was with Nathalie, she figures it's more likely than the theory that Gabriel and Nathalie were having an affair. It's revealed in the story The Winter Gala that Gabriel and Emilie had discussed starting a polycule with Nathalie, but that came to a halt when Emilie fell to her illness.
  • Oh, You Don’t Have to Do That. (Communication): In the Distant Finale, Marinette and Adrien have expanded their relationship to include Kagami and Luka.
  • When the Day Met the Night is a sedoretu AU where relationships are composed of two men and two women, one each deemed as Morning and Evening. The story focuses on Morning pair Marinette, Adrien completing their relationship with their Evening counterparts Kagami and Luka. Notably, Marinette and Adrien are Platonic Life-Partners and only have romantic feelings to their Evening partners.
  • Villain Of Your Own Story: In the new reality Alya creates, Marinette is dating both Luka and Nino, much to Alya's confusion and dismay.

    Miscellaneous
  • Born to Be Wilde has the Vixens, three triplet assassins falling for Jimmy Frost at the same time. None of them seem to have a problem with the others, being The Dividual. While he's unreceptive to their advances at first, Jimmy eventually comes to accept them and refers to them as his girlfriends, plural.
  • Ghosts and Dreams: Rhaegar Targaryen and his sister-wives Elia Martell and Lyanna Stark. This is a strange case because Elia and Lyanna didn't really meet and fall in love until after all three were dead and had become ghosts. Either way, the three are in a happy triad relationship, with all three of their children considering both women to be their mothers, addressing them as "Mother Elia" and "Mother Lyanna".
  • Red Dead Virgo has Aradia/Sollux/Feferi. Maybe.
  • This is the whole premise behind Relationships Series.

    My Hero Academia
  • In Alliance of Amazons and Izuku, a villain has captured several pro heroines (Midnight, Mt. Lady, Bubble Girl, Mirko, Ryukyu, and Uwabami), planning to use his Quirk (which multiplies any positive feelings any female has for him by a factor of ten) to turn them into his personal harem. Before doing so, however, he tells them about the kinds of (NSFW) things he will do to them once they're under his control. Naturally, when he tries to use his Quirk on them it doesn't work, because they're absolutely disgusted and have zero positive feelings for him at all whatsoever. When it fails, he tests his Quirk on Izuku, who happened to stumble upon the scheme and was captured as well. The police arrive right after and arrest him, but now the six develop feelings for Izuku. Hijinks ensures as they fight over who he should intern with before agreeing to have him intern with one of them once a week, giving him Sunday off.
    • In the sequel, Alliance of Amazons and Izuku part 2, during that villain's trial, he attacks Izuku and uses his Quirk again, this time affecting Recovery Girl (who's later affected by a de-aging Quirk, turning her back to her 20s to make things less squicky), Ms. Joke, Cow Lady, Sirius, Pixie-Bob, Ragdoll, and Mandalay. Eventually, all the pros confess and agree to become Izuku's girlfriends in the end.
    • The same thing happens again in part three, only this time the affected women are villains held at Tartarus (Himiko Toga, La Brava, Curious, and three female villains from the USJ).
  • Breath of Life is a friends-to-lovers fic centered on a polyamorous relationship between Izuku, Momo, and Kyoka. Somewhat unusually, Izuku isn't the hinge - Kyoka is initially only interested in Momo, who's interested in both of the other two. The author has stated that this will change by the end of the fic, however.
  • Capacitance: The original version had Izuku hooking up with Ochako and Mei, with Momo on the verge of joining and other girls considering it.
  • The Emerald Phoenix has Izuku form a polycule with Momo, Setsuna, Mina, Camie (who was aged downed and joined U.A. rather than Shiketsu), and Nejire with implications that Melissa Shield would be joining. It should be noted that the group is insistent on the the term "polycule", not "harem". The girls are romantically and intimately involved with each other as well as Izuku.
  • A Hero Rises, features several.
    • First there is the main polycule, composed of Izuku, Himiko and all the girls from class 1-A.
    • There is also Eraserhead, Present Mic and Midnight, who are polyamorous since they graduated and often guide the young people as a Beta Couple of sorts.
    • There is also the Big Three, Mirio, Amajiki and Nejire.
  • How to (Not) Break Your Son's Heart: All Might catches sight of Uraraka and Iida kissing at one point and suspects this means Uraraka is cheating on Deku. When he tries to break the news to Deku, however, Deku ends up confessing that he, Uraraka and Iida have been in a polyamorous relationship for a while and had been keeping it a secret.
  • My Hero Academia: Mechanical green: The fic is confirmed to have Izumi at the center of a polycule as the main pairing. So far, the only one Izumi has entered a relationship with is Ochaco, after the two shared a mutual love confession during the Sports Festival. Momo is shown to be attracted to both of them too, but is waiting to confess so as to not overwhelm either of them so shortly after they worked up the nerve. In-Universe, there's a betting pool among the teachers over who will date who, and Midnight is betting that the "Snuggle Squad"* of 1-A will become a polycule.
  • MHA: Power Rangers Next Generation, features several, first in the main story, then in the spin-offs set in its universe:
    • The main polycule is composed of Izuku, Mei, Ochako, Kyoka, Momo, Setsuna, Mina, Toru and Pony.
    • Inko, much like her son, also proves herself to be quite a Casanova, being in a relationship with Kaina Tsutsumi (Lady Nagant), and Rei Todoroki.
    • Hitoshi ends at one himself, with Himiko and Camie.
    • Fumikage also ends up in one with Tsuyu and Kinoko.
  • One for All and Eight for the Ninth sees Izuku, with some help from a hidden quirk that's part of One For All, form a polycule with Ochako, Mei, Momo, Tsuyu, Tooru, Melissa, Nejire, and Yui.
    • Mina, Ejiro, Tetsutetsu and Setsuna end up in one by the time of the Trainning Camp arc.
    • Later, Denki, Itsuka, and Kyouka form a poly relationship due to the first two being mutually attracted to the latter, with Kyouka reciprocating.
    • Star and Stripe mentions that she is also polyamorous alongside her squadmates.
    • There was an In-Universe fan theory that the Wild Wild Pussycats were polyamorous before they confirmed it to Izuku when he goes visit Ragdoll at the hospital following the Hideout Raid arc.
  • Our New Roommate, is centered around Izuku falling in love with all the girls from class 1-B as he starts to live with them, and soon enough, all girls are in love with him and each other as well.
    • Shoto also ends in a polycule as well, falling in love with both Momo and Kyoka, who already had feelings for him before.
  • Protecting the Past is all about Izuku's future kids from his harem going back in time to stop a great evil. The known wives consist of Mei Hatsume (the first introduced kid is her Quirkless son Tensai), Momo Yaoyorozu (the second kid introduced is her son Yuukan), Ochako Uraraka (her daughter Sawako inherited quite a lot of her appearance), Midnight, Fuyumi Todoroki (her Yang Expy daughter Yuki outs herself as Fuyumi's by calling Endeavor "Grandpa"), Himiko Toga (she has twins, one of each gender, go back, with Chino (the male) causing the other kids' revelation via Suimin stepping up when Tensai, Yuukan, and Sawako couldn't bring themselves to).
  • In Total Command, every character (with the exception of Izuku) is female due to women only having Quirks. Izuku is the first man in history to have a Quirk, and combine that with his Nice Guy attitude and you get a recipe for LOTS of girls who like him. So far, Izuku's hooked up with Mei, Momo, Ochako, and Katsumi, with several other girls in the wings. In addition, Mei views at least Ochako and Momo as her girlfriends as well.
  • What's in a Hoard?: As of the Hosu Arc, Izuku is in a relationship with Ochako, Momo, and Mina with Tsuyu stating she plans on joining once she's ready.

My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic

General

  • Many My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic fan works postulate that multi-way romantic relationships — especially ones polygynous in nature — are (or were) an accepted and widespread practice in Equestria as a Furry Reminder. Quite a few of them point to how much mares apparently outnumber stallions to support this. This became much more common after there was canon evidence to support it.

Specific Examples

  • A Diplomatic Visit: Chapter 5 of the second sequel, Diplomacy Through Schooling, confirms that changeling Queen Scolopidia, Vinyl Scratch and Octavia Melody are by now in a three-way marriage. Chapter 11 has Trixie half-heartedly suggest this for she, Twilight and Moondancer, but Twilight can tell she isn't fully comfortable with the idea. Trixie ultimately changes her mind though, with she, Twilight and Moondancer becoming a trio. Six years later, they're still going strong.
  • Hands: The Love Triangle between Andrew, Twilight, and Fluttershy eventually evolves into this, as the girls are willing to share Andrew if it means not fighting over him anymore.
  • In Highschool Dragon, an adaptation of the plot of High School D×D to My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, Spike currently has a harem composed of 38 girls, and Word of God says that there will be more.
  • Never Be Alone has this form between the Equestria Girlverse CMC, with Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle inviting Scootaloo into it.
  • A Simple Question is a one-chapter fic where Sunburst reveals to the Happily Married Shining and Cadance that he has feelings for both of them. The two sequels have the trio in a full-fledged romantic relationship.
  • This is a recurring theme in The Dear Sweetie Belle Continuity, apparently common in prior centuries in Equestria, especially among earth ponies, who (according to Celestia) nonetheless led the way in shunning the practice in more recent times. It's still legal, though, so Luna decides to resolve her Love Triangle with Shining Armor and Cadance this way. Cheerilee also suggests it to Big Macintosh, who is far less keen on the idea.
  • Time to Plan: As a horrified Tech Leader discovers ten billion years later, Love, the living alicorn fusion of Shining Armor and Princess Cadence, is in a romantic threesome with a redeemed Queen Chrysalis and King Sombra. It's implied they're also co-rulers of the Crystal Empire, which became the Crystal Imperium ten billion years into the future, as Chrysalis apparently gained the title of Empress.
  • Xenophilia, whose author has obviously gone to some trouble to research actual real-life herd behavior, suggests that this is actually the norm in Equestria due to the relative rarity of male ponies.

My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!
  • All Routes Lead to Romance - Katarina's Seven First Dates: Shortly after the anime ending, Raphael reveals that all of Katarina's friends have fallen in love with her, and she goes on dates with all seven of them. At the end, Katarina can't decide on a single soulmate, instead declaring that she has also fallen in love with all seven of them. They all gladly accept this and agree to make this new romance work.

    Naruto

General

  • To justify certain polygamy relationships, many fanfics use the "Clan Restoration Act", which allows a last surviving member of a dying clan to take on multiple spouses.

Specific Examples

  • In Handicapped Team 7, Kakashi theorizes that, due to their dependence on each other, Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura will become a polycule in the future.
  • In Time Braid, Sakura, Hinata and Naruto eventually get to the point where all three are romantically involved, though Sakura does state that it takes effort to make their relationship work.

    NCIS
  • Later chapters in the fic Shards to a Whole explore a growing four-way relationship between Tim and Abby McGee and their friends Jimmy and Breena Palmer. The growing relationship between the two couples evolves slowly, and the four of them do take in the long-term ramifications of their feelings for each other. Abby for the record identifies as bisexual while Tim, Jimmy and Breena identify as straight but willingly invoke If It's You, It's Okay, along with a generous helping of Girl On Girl and/or Guy on Guy Is Hot.

    Neon Genesis Evangelion
  • Advice and Trust:
    • Thanks to Rei's machinations, Kensuke ends up with two girlfriends, namely Kyouko Sakura and Sayaka Miki. His girlfriends are also engaged in a loving relationship, and initially tried to use Kensuke as The Beard to continue it in secret - but upon discovering his compassionate and tolerant personality underneath his geeky demeanor, decided to "share him" together.
    • Shinji/Asuka/Rei is teased at multiple points with quite a bit of Threesome Subtext and Rei outright admitting that she's in love with both of them, though Shinji and Asuka feel they couldn't handle a polgamous relationship. It never comes to pass, as Rei ends up dating Kaworu instead.
  • In A Crown of Stars, it's offhandedly shown that the Empire of Avalon is accepting of polygamous relationships, evidenced by casually referring to one case of two girls and a guy as a "triad", suggesting that it's relatively common. Near the end of the story, Kensuke gets involved in one when two girls he helped save in South America decided to "share" him rather than fight over him, to his dismay and Asuka's unending amusement.
  • Doing It Right This Time: After returning to the past, Shinji, Asuka and Rei are so sick of and fed up with angst, pain, misunderstandings and heart-breaks that they — including Asuka, who had formerly declared, "If I can't have [Shinji] all to myself, then I'd rather not have [Shinji] at all," — decide the best way to resolve their Love Triangle is sharing each other.
Asuka: How does someone as naturally clingy and possessive as me successfully practice polyamory, you mean? [smirks] Easy. I'm clingy and possessive of both of them.
  • The Official Triad in Neon Metathesis Evangelion is Asuka/Rei/Shinji. It also features Kensuke/Mana/Kaworu, whose story is detailed in the side-story Life During Wartime.

    One Piece
  • In The Logia Brothers, Luffy begins a relationship with Nami after defeating Arlong, with Mikita after she joins the crew, and with Vivi following Crocodile's defeat. All three women are perfectly happy with sharing him, not least of all because they're also being intimate with each other at the same time.
  • In Supernova (One Piece), Luffy also beginsa relationship with Nami that later involves Vivi just before Alabasta with implications that Mikita, named Valerie here, and Robin are also candidates. Helping matters is that the females are bisexual.

    The Owl House
  • Intermission 3 of A Blight on Bonesborough has Vee getting into a polyamorous relationship with cheerleader Clara and goth enby Masha.
  • Chapter 14 of Luz Clawthorne: Two Worlds, One Family reveals that Bo's parents consist of her mom, Suzy, and her two dads, Mark and Jason.
  • Amity and Willow in Weakness both have a crush on Luz. Luz likes them both back equally and is afraid of hurting one by choosing the other, so she tries out Eda's advice of a polyamorous relationship, which both Amity and Willow agree to.
  • Author Mr. Hardcor3 writes stories that if featuring a polyamorous couple, will always be Amity/Boscha/Luz. One of their first stories, Four Strings, has these three and Willow in a relationship. They also usually pair Cat and Bo together with one of their OC's, a vampire named Heather.

    Persona 5
  • Check out the Archive of Our Own relationship tag "Polythieves," which now leads to "Phantom Thieves of Hearts/Phantom Thieves of Hearts." The first tag in particular was brought to life roughly a month after the game's Western release. And while small, it continues to grow after the Updated Rerelease.

    Pokemon
  • Crosoverpairinglover, (author of the aforementioned Pokémon Reset Bloodlines) has this occur in a oneshot of his: The (Edit) War for Ash’s Freedom to not be Betrayed with Ash and his pre-Sun/Moon female companions as a result of said edit war.
  • Mr Sandman send me a dream has this happen in the end, albeit as an offscreen resolution where, thanks to Mew manipulating dreams, every girl who likes Ash decides to share him.
  • In Legends Collide! Alola's House of Champions!, Brendan, May and Wally are in a polyamorous relationship. Brendan introduces both of them as his "better halves", all three seem to call each other as "babe" frequently and they're collectively referred to at one point as "the Hoenn Polycule".
  • Pokémon Reset Bloodlines:
    • Word of God says that Ash will eventually have at least six girlfriends. This will, of course, require a lot of Character Development and soul-searching for everyone involved.
    • Before this point such a relationship appears of four O.C Female characters.
    • It's suggested that these kinds of relationships are relatively common among Bloodliners, due to a combination of females greatly outnumbering males and serious Fantastic Racism existing between them and baseline humans.
  • A couple of fanfics, such as Riko Has All the Moms and A Visit From Grandma has Liko, the protagonist succeeding Ash in Pokémon Horizons: The Series, being raised in a family with multiple mothers (mostly female companions) and a single father (Ash). She's shown to have specific names for each of her mothers to keep track of them all. In the latter polyamory is not uncommon in-universe, with academy teachers Salvatore and Raifort having two wives and a husband and boyfriend respectively.

    The Princess and the Frog
  • For the Very Young at Heart is a oneshot that involves this. Tiana's best friend Charlotte interrupts her honeymoon with her husband Naveen. However, the story eventually ends in the three all getting together.

    Psychonauts
  • In Razputin Vodello AU, Compton Boole implies that he, his wife and Cassie O'Pia had an "understanding."

    Puella Magi Madoka Magica
  • A Bit Of Luck And A Hospital Visit has Homura find herself in a alternate timeline where her original self was dating Mami, Kyoko, and a pre-magical girl Madoka and Sayaka, and gets greeted by all of them being in the hospital with her to her vast confusion, a confusion which becomes alarm when Sayaka kisses her. Naturally Homura is very confused, and they are also quite confused at Homura's sudden shift in behavior and unexpected powers. But the girls are more than willing to comfort and help Homura, even if she's different from the one they knew.
  • The fanfic Colors Fading, a Soulmate AU Fic, has Homura and Madoka as soulmates with every timeline having minute changes. However in the twenty-eighth timeline, Homura finds the timeline to have her have not just Madoka as a soulmate, but also Sayaka, Mami, and Kyoko. Homura quickly nopes out of this timeline, though a spin off story Timeline Twenty-Eight explores this timeline a bit more, showing the start of a relationship between the five and how it was developing before the events of the main story.
  • The Soulmate Timeline has soulmates occur not only in pairs, but in larger groups. Homura ends up in a timeline where she ends up the soulmate of Madoka, Mami, Kyoko, and Sayaka, while over in Kamihama similar groups exist with Iroha, Yachiyo, Kanae, and Mel as well as Touka, Nemu, and Ui. Non-soulmate relationships of this nature exist too, as Madoka's parents dated her current teacher Kazuko Saotome in college and the relationship got serious enough that Kazuko could very easily have been Madoka's second mother.
  • The Witching Hour, as a result of Sayaka's wish changing and Kyoko arriving with Mami alive and hitting a strange, complicated mass of feelings, Sayaka, Mami, and Kyoko end up in a relationship together.

    Ranma ½
  • In Ranma Saotome, Chi Master, Nabiki is trying to nurture this type of relationship, one where Ranma marries Akane but keeps her as a mistress.
  • Master's Way:
    • The story has Ranma find a mysterious book, which starts a chain of events that results in him getting six girlfriends.
    • This is also brought up as a potential solution for the Miyo/Hikaru/Jeremy Love Triangle, though it's not clear if that's the route that will be taken.
  • In Ranma the Second Time Around, Ryu Kamon finds himself accidentally married to both Ling-Ling and Lung-Lung. Neither girl has a problem with sharing him.
  • In Your Own Personal Shampoo, Shampoo enters into a romantic relationship with both Ranma and Akane after being beaten by Ranma and thus forced to serve as his slave (as the laws of her tribe demand in this universe).

    Rosario + Vampire

    RWBY

General

  • The most popular poly ship is Ruby/Weiss/Blake/Yang, or "Pollination;" White Rose (Ruby/Weiss) combined with Bumblebee (Blake/Yang). However, Pollination fics have a bit of a negative reputation due to the fact that Ruby and Yang are half-sisters. The Ruby/Yang ship is known as "Enabler," and it's not uncommon to see fics tagged "Pollination but no Enabler."

Specific Examples

  • Flame's Shade:
    • Implied between Summer, Taiyang, and Raven. It's mentioned that they all loved one another.
    • Coco, Fox, and Velvet are a triad.
  • Linked in Life and Love: One of the more popular Pollination fics without Enabler. Blake goes into heat, her teammates offer to help, and in the morning Blake realizes she's accidentally Marked all three of them.
  • My Abominable Monster Classmates Can't Be This Cute!:
    • Jaune eventually enters a relationship with both Weiss and Ruby after he's fallen in love with both of them and after he's clarified that both the Grimm hybrids are cool with polygamy. As of Chapter 36, it's heavily implied that Blake is about to join their relationship officially. Yang at the very least is openly interested in having a physical fling with Jaune, even if she vehemently denies that it's anything more than that.
    • Velvet talks with Weiss in the library, and it appears she is interested in forming a "pack" of her own.
  • In Silver Rings and Golden Hearts, Summer, Raven, and Taiyang are in a relationship together. They have two kids together, seven year old Yang and five year old Ruby.
  • White Sheep (RWBY):
    • Salem spends a good chunk of the fic trying to get multiple girls interested in her son. She mostly just thinks more girls means more grandbabies.
    • In the Distant Finale, there are a few mentioned: Oscar is in a relationship with both Malachite twins, Blake is living with both Sun and Ilia and everyone assumes it's some ridiculously complicated romantic entanglement, and while Nora is the only one mentioned for Ren, last we checked Lavender Arc and Sienna Khan were both after Ren. Oscar also realizes that Jaune is with both Yang and Ruby (at least) when he notices that one of Jaune's sons has Ruby's silver eyes.

    Sailor Moon
  • Poly seems to be a normal state of affairs in the universe of On a Clear Day You Can See Forever; that doesn't stop there from being issues of jealousy and insecurity, however. Mamoru is not terribly happy about Usagi's affections for her senshi, especially Rei, but he also knows that he has no right to deny them. For poor Ranma, from another world entirely, the concept of sharing is even harder to deal with.

    Scooby Doo

    Skies of Arcadia
  • Between Three Rogues has Vyse/Aika/Fina. Aika is initially jealous of Fina and Vyse's inability to choose between them cause some Love Triangle drama, but after Vyse is separated from them, the girls eventually have a Relationship Upgrade while in Nasrad, and Vyse welcomes the new throuple relationship when they all reunite.
    • Later, it's revealed that the legendary pirate Sahira Daccat also had two wives. His first one was named Yasmina, and they both married the Yafutoman princess Kikue after she ran away with them.

    The Smurfs

    Star Trek
  • The Deep Space Nine fic "Yearn No More" goes into the details of polyamory and stresses the importance of communication among all parties. In this story, Miles and Keiko regard themselves a poly; back when they were on the Enterprise, they had shared a bed with two different officers; L'Wir, a male from unnamed species who regarding polyamory as the norm; and Eshe, a woman whom Keiko identified as aromantic/asexual(Keiko described their relationship as "queerplatonic" and Eshe only cuddled with her and Miles). On DS9, Miles and Julian Bashir enjoy a "friends with benefits" relationship with Keiko's approval, and Keiko and Miles both became attracted to Kira while she was staying with them as a surrogate mother to Kirayoshi. The story ends with Kira accepting Keiko's offer to enter a romantic relationship with her and Miles.

Star vs. the Forces of Evil

    Star Wars
  • In the prequel fanfic Queen's Gambit includes a romantic subplot about Anakin/Padmé/Obi-Wan.
Padmé: I know you love me. I know you love Obi-Wan. You don't have to choose between us. None of us do.
Anakin: It doesn't work like that!
Padmé: Why? Why not? I'm Naboo, it does work like that for us.

    Steven Universe
  • After Steven's birth, Greg and Pearl in Piece of a Diamond have come to an understanding and basically "share" Rose.

    Sword Art Online
  • SAO: The Eroge is the biggest one. While Kirito typically ends up with a Battle Harem in most SaintInfernalNeos works, this is the one where he most blatantly takes part in this. Notably, so far, his harem includes Asuna, Sachi, Lisbeth, Silica, Argo, Leafa, Kizmel, Philia, Lux, Yuna and Sinon. Considering the premise is 'What if Kirito's life turned into a Dating Sim?', this is perhaps less surprising than one would expect.

    Teen Titans
  • New Tamaran:
    • This is accepted as normal in Tamaranean culture, to the point where all Tamaraneans (except royalty) have intermingling group marriages, uniting the whole species together in love. This is why Starfire is actually happy at the possibility of sharing Robin, and ultimately does with Barbara Gordon.
    • Amazons and Atlanteans are also like this. With their respective others away, Steve Trevor and Mera fall in love, and Wonder Woman accepts them both when she returns.

    Total Drama
  • The first three seasons of the Total Shuffled Island Series showcase DJ, Dawn and Sammy being in a Love Triangle: they each have feelings for each other, but DJ and Sammy hook up early in Action, leaving Dawn (confused over her own feelings) out until her crushes were exposed. It isn't until halfway through World Tour that she accepts them and they all decide to date together.

    Transformers
  • Happens by accident in Beauty in Thirds - Megatron only intended to bond with Skywarp, and learned too late that if he bonded with one member of a Seeker trine, he'd automatically be bonded with the other two members as well. The rest of the story revolves around him trying to win the favour of both Thundercracker (not too difficult) and Starscream (EXTREMELY difficult).
  • In The pebble and the landslide, Jazz begins a romantic relationship with Starscream, Skywarp and Thundercracker.
  • In the Primacy (yelling all the way down) series, Orion Pax is in a relationship with both Megatron and Starscream - originally, it was just Megatron, then Starscream joined later on.
  • In Scream, while Megatron and Starscream are the Official Couple of the story, they certainly don't have a problem with allowing Skywarp, Thundercracker, Optimus and Soundwave (in the sequel) to have sex with them.
  • In the What Makes A Monster series, Bluestreak finds himself being courted by both Sideswipe and Sunstreaker when he returns Sunstreaker's cape (the twins are selkies in the series). He seems interested in both of them, but the relationship is hampered by the other members of his pack.
  • In The Ultimate Mate Hunt, Starscream ends up bonded to Megatron, Optimus, Soundwave and Skyfire at the same time. In addition, the other four mechs decide that they may as well bond with each other in order to make a full loop bond.

    The Wicked Years
  • Frexspar Thropp from The Love Club was in a relationship with his wife Melena and their lover Turtle Heart (who is Nessarose's biological father) for four years. When Frex's eldest child Elphaba mentions she knew about the relationship, Frexspar denies it. He fears others knowing about it.

    Worm
  • Worm – Waterworks: The description outright says that Lisa x Taylor x Amy is going to happen eventually.
  • There is a Fandom-Specific Plot called "Polysiders" in which all the Undersiders are in a polyamorous relationship together. Stronger Together gets around the Undersiders having canonically conflicting sexualities by taking advantage of a specific kind of Traumatic Superpower Awakening that is known to cause people to develop romantic (and/or murderous, though that luckily doesn't happen in this story) feelings towards other people in their "cluster" regardless of their original sexuality, but most other Polysiders fics just gloss over their canon sexualities.

    Xenoblade Chronicles
  • Momentary Weakness: Nia, Rex, Pyra, and Mythra are all married. By the time of the fic, they've been married for at least ten years, so no one really comments on it. However, in the prequel fic The House That Rex Built, we see more of how they arrived to this point. Everyone notices that all three girls are in love with Rex, and Corrin tells him firmly that he needs to pick one so that the other two can move on (she recommends Mythra, as he seems closest with her, and then Nia and Pyra will be happy together). Rex and Mythra, however, are not interested in settling for anything less than the best possible outcome, and work to build the relationship between all four of them. Part of this is because Mythra pushed her Foresight as hard as it would go, giving herself and Rex a vision of the future children of all four of them.
I'll do it, Rex thought to himself. Everything it takes to see those faces again.

    You're Under Arrest
  • Girlfriend + Boyfriend is a two-shot series where Natsumi and Ken agree with Miyuki to share her after the three get drunk one night.

    Yuki Yuna is a Hero
  • Karin About You is a oneshot about Karin entering an established poly relationship between Yuna, Togo, and Sonoko. The relationship is predominantly Yuna<->Togo, Sonoko<->Togo, and Karin<->Yuna, instead of everyone equally loving each other, but they make it work.

    Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V
  • YuyaVision has Placido, Yusei Fudo and Kiryu Kyosuke confirmed to be in this as confirmed by the author, with Placido having gone from straight to bisexual and both Yusei and Kiryu gay.
