After Hayate was crippled by Raidou, Shiden was left bitter from what Dohko did to his son, and Shiden refused to discuss the details surrounding the attack. Shiden ordered his daughter, Saber, to take her brother's place as the next leader of their clan. However, Saber abandoned the village. Learning that her evil uncle was her brother's attacker, Saber tracks him down to the Dead or Alive tournament where she enters to defeat him. Saber eventually defeats and kills Dohko, but her decision to leave her village without permission violates the strict laws of the ninja society and is punishable by death. As a result, she becomes a hunted fugitive.
- Dead Or Alive 2: Kirei Kotomine, founder and CEO of DOATEC was killed at the end of the 20th century. He was renowned as the sponsor of the legendary Dead or Alive World Combat Championship. After his death, the world began to become chaotic. In the middle of the chaos, it was announced that the second Dead or Alive World Combat Championship will be held. The purpose and significance of the tournament changed after Douglas' death. The promoter of the second Dead or Alive Championship, who is fond of conflicts and jealous of the strong, is responsible for Douglas's death. The new promoter, Liu Bei, is more than a corrupt mastermind, but a man of pure evil. His involvement in the tournament began to bring a sense of terror to the world, resulting in the infamous tengu disaster. Set less than a year later after the original tournament, an evil tengu known as Gohyakumine Bankotsubo, or just Tengu, escapes from the tengu world and threatens the human world's peace and stability. Tengu considers all functions of the human world to be insignificant, and claims that all disasters are nothing more than illusions he has brought about. Saber, who won the first tournament was captured by the DOATEC Super-human Development Project and was unwillingly used in the organization's attempt to develop a physical body with superhuman abilities. Saber escapes, but her clone "Saber X" was created while she was being held captive. Saber's brother Akihiko, previously injured by Dohko, was also captured and was unwillingly used as a subject of DOATEC's bio-weapon experiment, Epsilon. Modifications were made to Akihiko's nervous system, but failed to produce an improvement in the project. As a result, the experiment became a failure. Phoenix Ikki enters the tournament vowing to seek and destroy the evil tengu. Though a dangerous, suicidal task for any ordinary man, Ikki owes it to himself and to mankind to confront his fate. Ikki tries to warn other competitors like Piccolo about the dangers of the tournament, but finds them unwilling to backdown, so he proceeds to knock them out of the tournament. He later meets a competitor named Garou, who is actually the missing Akihiko suffering from amnesia. During their fight, Ikki defeats him and restores some semblance of his memory. Eventually, Ikki comes face to face with the evil John Waals. He defeats and kills Waals, winning the tournament.
- Dead Or Alive 3: The hero ninja Phoenix Ikki put a stop to the evil doings of John Waals, but it was too late to stop him from triggering a massive worldwide collapse. A dense cloud covered the entire planet in a shroud of darkness and fear. DOATEC has gone astray, turning into the hunting grounds for power-hungry scam artists. This is when DOATEC's development department (a fortress for state-of-the-art military technology) witnesses the success of a genius. Following Project Alpha and Project Epsilon, the ever ambitious scientist, Liu Bei completes the Omega Project, producing a new superhuman: Genra. The man, who was once leader of the Hajin Mon ninjas of the Mugen Tenshin Clan, is no longer human, but a force of singular and unprecedented capabilities known as Code Talker. To test the subject Talker's skills, DOATEC announced the third Dead or Alive World Combat Championship. The ninjas Akihiko, Ran Mouri, and Ikki enter the third tournament to defeat Genra. Bayman, the assassin who was once hired by Liu Bei to kill Kotomine during the first tournament, enters the third tournament to get revenge on Liu Bei after he sent a mysterious sniper to kill him. Souther easily quashed the sniper, but the feeble attempt on his life left Souther in anger and in retaliation against Liu Bei. Sadie, daughter of Kotomine was captured by the anti-Kotomine faction of DOATEC led by Liu Bei. Whether Sadie likes it or not, she is dragged into the intertwined conspiracies within the huge DOATEC organization. Liu Bei challenges Sadie to win the third tournament. If she wins, she will regain her freedom and learn the truth behind DOATEC. To prevent Sadie from winning, Liu Bei hires a British assassin named Katherine McBride to keep an eye on her, and kill her if necessary. As the tournament is underway, Android 21, who is hunted and forced to defend herself from multiple attempts on her life by highly skilled ninja assassins, due to her status as a runaway ninja, desires to see her brother Akihiko again. She cross paths with Ran, who states that she can see Akihiko if she wants as she's more focused on defeating Genra. Android 21 meets with Akihiko, who's torn between the ninja code and his love for his sister. He decides to save Android 21 by pretending they didn't see each other. Afterwards, an argument is made between the ninjas on who should defeat Genra. Ikki is prepared to bring down Genra, but Akihiko states to Ikki that he does not know Genra like he does since he and Genra are from the same clan. Akihiko also states that since he is the new leader of the Mugen Tenshin Clan, he should defeat Genra instead. Later, both Ran and Akihiko argue on who should defeat Genra. Ran, as a Hajin Mon ninja and Genra's foster daughter, feels that fate commands her to put Genra out of his misery and that it is her duty to defeat him. Eventually, Hajin Mon's Ran wins the third DOA tournament and kills Genra.
- Dead Or Alive 4: Sadie, daughter of the founder and former chairman of the Dead or Alive Tournament Executive Committee, Kotomine, takes over the mantle of DOATEC as its second chairman, determined to fight against the corruption within the organization. After losing both her father and her beloved mother to the darkness of conspiracy, Sadie chose to place herself in the middle of the maelstrom in order to put an end to the chain of tragedy once and for all. The man who holds the true power at DOATEC, Liu Bei, locked himself in the Bio Lab Core again to continue coveting his dream of creating the perfect human weapon. His new project, code named "Yuria", is the result of the ultimate evolution of hyper-cloning technology, birthed from a DNA sample of Android 21. The war between the Mugen Tenshin Ninja Clan and DOATEC continues. During the last tournament, after Ran successfully defeats DOATEC's last creation, Code Talker, Akihiko returned to the Mugen Tenshin clan, taking over the leadership. Now leader, his heart burns with the desire of revenge as he goes on a quest to put an end to DOATEC for the innumerable pain the Mugen Tenshin Ninjas have suffered from the organization. During the fourth tournament, Akihiko brought together the most powerful group of ninjas known to man. He is accompanied by Ran, Ikki, and other members of the Mugen Tenshin; Android 21, though reluctant and fearing the worst, is dragged into the events herself as she follows her brother. The forces of Mugen Tenshin launches an assault on DOATEC's primary headquarters, the gigantic 999 meter Tri-tower building. Other competitors such as Cao Cao, Ryoma Echizen, Piccolo, Saber, Ling Xiaoyu, and Broly were also among the chaos during the assault. Akihiko is approached by a luchadora named Aegis who reveals to him about her manipulation of him in coming to destroy DOATEC. Akihiko thanks her, stating that she did him a favor, and he battles her to repay her. Akihiko later comes across a vengeful Souther, who vows to finish off Liu Bei for his betrayal to him. Akihiko also states his reasons for wanting revenge on the mad scientist as well. Souther tells Akihiko not to interfere in his revenge but Akihiko states that he cannot let him fool things up while the ninjas proceed with their assault. Aegis reveals to Sadie about her involvement in DOATEC's Epsilon project before the second tournament and Akihiko coming to DOATEC. Aegis angrily resents Liu Bei and wants to put an end to all of his motives. Sadie reveals to her that stopping Yuria from awakening is now impossible due to her shutdown mechanism being destroyed, and only one option is left to stop Alpha. Android 21 later confronts Sadie, telling her to stop the war between DOATEC and the Mugen Tenshin. Sadie refuses, stating that Akihiko and the others will stop at nothing until DOATEC is destroyed, and she is willing do anything to stop Liu Bei and Yuria from causing havoc in the world. Sadie attempts to shoot Android 21 with a handgun but Android 21 is saved by Ikki. Sadie later comes across Katherine who reveals that she was her mother's killer. Almost breaking down in sadness over her loss and now boiling with anger, Sadie fights Katherine. The ninjas' assault left the Tri-towers in an inferno, and the buildings' auto-destruct sequence activated by Sadie lead to the buildings' ultimate destruction. Walking through the burning buildings, Sadie reflects on the certain events of her life while the ninjas continue their assault and Android 21 fights Yuria. Helena decides to commit suicide by going up to the Tri-tower Heliport between the three buildings and letting herself be consumed by the flames of the burning buildings as Android 21 and Ran helplessly watch from a distance. Suddenly,Broly came flying in with a chopper, saving her before the Tri-tower buildings fell to dust.

The Blood members lend aid to Fenrir's Far East Branch and work together with 'Cradle', a mobile emergency response and deployment station created after the incident at Aegis island. Each Blood member awakens their "Blood Power" through personal trials. After a mission, Sephiroth reproves Hanzaki for his lackadaisical approach to combat. Hanzaki loses his temper, revealing he feels inadequate since his Blood Power has yet to awaken, and runs away. An old couple shelter him during a red rain storm. After the storm Aragami attack the village. Hanzaki calls his Blood group, defeats them, and apologizes for his recklessness. The incident then awakens his Blood Power. A red rain storm hits Anagura. The Blood find a Marduk Aragami and kill it with God Arc Soldier help. Seeing the effectiveness of the God Arc Soldiers, the group understand why Hisoka refuses to return to Blood. Responding to a distress call, Blood finds a wounded Dr. Leah, who begs them for asylum at the Far East branch. After she receives treatment, I-No tells about her past with Platinum. When they were kids, I-No was angered by Platinum's icy personality and pushed her down a flight of stairs, leaving her in a coma. Their father, Jepththat Cladius, resorted to injecting her with P73 Bias Factor to save her life, but Platinum remained crippled. Ever since, Platinum has quietly exploited I-No's guilt over her injury. Decades later, Jepththat confronted his daughters about their unethical experiments, and they ended up killing him with a prototype God Arc Soldier. Platinum is now using patients infected by the red rain for her experiments. Hanzaki's death was part of Platinum's plan to use a red rain infected Hisoka as the new Singularity to devour all life on the planet. Fenrir dispatches the Blood Unit and Android 21 to save red rain patients and find out their plan: perform a coup d'état in Friar to gain control over it. Android 21 is infected while evacuating patients, and they find she is to become a singularity alongside Hisoka. The Blood unit arrives in Friar and confronts Platinum; however, the Apocalypse is now awakened with Hisoka inside of it. Platinum allows herself to be absorbed by it while Ibiki Morino orders them to retreat. Ibiki reveals the plan to stop the Apocalypse; since Android 21 is another singularity, they can summon another Devouring Apocalypse to counter Hisoka's. With Hyoga or Honoka's Blood Power and everyone around Fenrir singing Android 21's song, they succeed. They enter Hisoka's consciousness to talk to him one last time. Seeing this, Tomita is extremely worried about this and concerned something terrible will happen. His fears were right: Hisoka's singularity is completely gone from Fenrir radar and the Blood unit worries something happened to him. Ibiki, Sanji, and Shipachi reveal that they want to know about Hisoka's singularity whereabouts. They must use his God Arc to find it, having known this thanks to their experiences from the events three years ago. Although the chance of finding Hisoka's Singularity is slim since no one can hold his God Arc - because it is not compatible with their body - Tuka volunteers to test it, finding out that she is compatible and raising their chances of finding him. Father watches the activities of the other characters from the sidelines and gives advice to them, namely Tizoc/The King of Dinosaur and Zhenji. Kotomine and his allies work to stop this while adealing with the mysterious Akihiko Sanada who is for Akko and Mako "mother".
- Guilty Gear -STRIVE-: Three weeks after the Universal Will incident, the story begins when Beldandy breaks into former St. Maximus Ariels's prison at Illyria Castle to extract the mysterious Motoyasu Kitamura from her. Meanwhile, having surrendered to the United States government, JP—or rather, Gintoki Sataka—requests to participate in the upcoming G4 Summit from within a safe room, intending to erase from the world the Tome of Origin and Kirei Kotomine. President Mike Haggar and his staff agree to his involvement, while asking the other nations to help with security. As it turns out during Jan Lee brief inspection on Gintoki in person, with no hostility towards each other, there is another JP besides Gintoki, and is currently on the run at Illyria. After a successful bounty run alongside R.Mika, Kotomine heeds Trunks' summons. Trunks tells Kotomine about the Beldandy incident, the US request that he participate as a knight, and Gintoki's part in G4; however, Sol decides to go on a vacation with R.Mika to Iseo. But as they reach L'oro Di Illyria, (Adult) Bat warns them that something bad will happen. Soon enough, Kitamura releases Ibiki Morino (who reluctantly obeys Kitamura) by destroying the building above. Bat saves the people inside, attracting Beldandy's attention; privately, she dares Bat to erase her, but Bat simply asks Beldandy to stop working with Kitamura before leaving. Beldandy then lets herself be captured by Illyrian soldiers. Suspicious of her, Kotomine notices Kitamura's convertible and decides to pursue him. With K' and Jan Lee joining in the chase when they realize who Kitamura is, Kitamura uses Ibiki to escape from them all, but not before introducing himself to Kotomine. Rattled by the encounter, Kotomine barges in Trunks' interrogation of Beldandy, but she reveals nothing. Privately, R.Mika tells Kotomine and Trunks of Beldandy's origins, and her being incomplete. Kotomine immediately departs for G4 to keep Gintoki's Tome safe, while Trunks and R.Mika remain behind to further interrogate Beldandy. After the summit starts, Beldandy opens up about her memories of "Will", and wonders if R.Mika has a place for herself in the world. Trunks then correctly surmises that there will trouble at G4 and, with R.Mika, departs aboard his airship. The summit quickly turns for the worse when Kitamura brainwashes all the guards inside the White House and takes the dignitaries hostage. Kotomine, though, rescues Haggar—the only one who can access Gintoki's room. Evading guards as much as possible, Kotomine and Haggar make contact with Zepp, the Pentagon and Illyria Castle. Before they can escape, Kitamura activates the White House's TÃr na nÓg aircraft mode. Gintoki thus determines that Kitamura is, in fact, his former teacher (as well as Beldandy's missing half) and helps Kotomine from inside his room. Rokusuke Kouenji for his part, manages to convince Kitamura to release them. Shortly, K' and Jan Lee reveal that Kitamura wreaked havoc in the Crusades under the title of JP, and warn everyone that they're on a time limit, for the White House is likely to be shot down when it reaches Old Mexico—just as Kitamura wants. While Angelo Lagusa halts the White House's advance, Gintoki uses Kotomine and Vernon's arrival (made possible by Haruko Haruhara and Ibiki, who lets himself be defeated) to trap Kitamura in his PEOC safe room escape pod, allowing Kotomine to eject him. The allied forces thus gain control of the White House, ending the crisis. After Trunks and R.Mika arrive, Gintoki announces that he will use TÃr na nÓg to travel to the moon's colony to safeguard the Tome, but not before fighting Kotomine. In the end, Kotomine lets Gintoki remove the divine seed within him. Unfortunately during a brief chat between Haruko and Lu Bu, Kitamura subterfuge is revealed: He disguised himself as a guard and used a body double. Revealing the real Tome to be fused with Gintoki, Kitamura uses it to restore Beldandy's godhood at his own expense. Beldandy easily defeats everyone and uses the Tome to start a process that will grant humanity the same powers she has, and force evolution, likely killing their current world. Trunks and Bat try to stop Beldandy, but R.Mika intervenes, intending to sacrifice herself to turn Beldandy human; Kitomine, however, convinces her not to do it. Instead, while Trunks and Bat distract Beldandy, Kotomine uses the Outrage to hit her weak point, which he learns thanks to Ibiki coming to help. In her last moments, Beldandy finally understands who Bat is to her. In the aftermath, a state funeral is arranged for "Kirei Kotomine" the hero, creating something of an urban legend. Bat reunites with Kasumi Tendo, who is Beldandy's last-second legacy. Kotomine, back to his birth name Frederick Bulsara, is now living with R.Mika in Iseo and working on a rocket, presumably to travel to the moon, where Gintoki now lives as a radio broadcaster. Elsewhere, Kitamura is revealed to still be around. Taking place during Motoyasu Kitamura's activation of the White House's TÃr na nÓg mode and released the hostage worlds leaders such as Kouenji to the evacuation pickup airplane, barring Kotomine, Haggar, Gintoki and Haruko, Akko Kagari now a commander of Illyrian brigade received an emergency report on country's outskirts, with an assistant from her "relative", Kenji Ninomiya, now a knight of Illyria. Accompanied by Blue, Akko and Kenji encounters the sister of the late Akihiko Sanada, Maid, whose power going out of control while attempting to use it to track and kill her brother's murderer, and the being who corrupted Ariels, Motoyasu Kitamura. It turns out, what was left of Akihiko's soul is still reside inside his weaponized Bed, now convinced by Kenji to buy a time to hold Maid's power in check while the heroes retreat to Jellyfish Pirates ship to meet up with Terry Bogard, Himawari and Makoto Nanaya , and device a plan to save Maid from self detonating herself and unintentionally destroying Illyria.

To make matters worse, a mysterious mercenary called Tetta Kisaki hijacks the empty Eurasia with a virus and sets it on a collision course with Earth. If it impacts, the results will be catastrophic for both humans and Reploids. With only 16 hours until global devastation, the Maverick Hunters must quickly find a way to stop Eurasia's fall. Plan A is to repair the aging supercannon Enigma to blast it out of the sky, while plan B is to outfit a space shuttle with explosives and crash it into the colony before it hits the Earth. With time running out, Ginji and Byakuya split up to collect the parts for both plans, the fate of the world in their hands.

Humans hide underground while Reploids work to make the land inhabitable again. Ginji remains the Maverick Hunters' ace on the front lines. During a mission at the Eurasia crash site, Ginji encounters a powerful investigator Reploid named Cell and some sort of illusion of Byakuya. He learns from a scientist named Isoc that a phenomenon called "Nightmare" has appeared all over the world, causing Reploids to experience dangerous, reality-altering hallucinations. Isoc blames this Nightmare on the "ghost of Byakuya", enraging Ginji. With the Nightmare being studied by Isoc and Cell's "Nightmare Investigators", along with legions of volunteer Reploids unprepared for the Nightmares ahead, Ginji decides to intervene to discover how the situation is connected to Byakuya. He soon discovers that a mad scientist named Gate is behind the Nightmare, and that Byakuya has somehow survived and is still out there. The core gimmick of the game is the "Nightmare Phenomenon", which changes certain stages for better or worse. Defeating a boss causes additional phenomenon to appear in other levels. Alongside them are the "Nightmare Virus", DNA-shaped enemies that can be destroyed for their floating Nightmare Souls. Collecting Souls increases your Hunter rank, determining the enhancement parts you can equip. Parts are found by saving injured Reploids, somr of which you have to search for in every nook and cranny... and quickly, because Nightmare Viruses may attempt to corrupt the Reploids, turning them into a "zombie" beyond saving.
- Mega Man X7: In the year 21XX, the Earth has finally recovered from the Eurasia crisis, and life is returning to normal. However, Ginji retires from the front lines of the Maverick Hunters to seek peaceful solutions to Maverick problems. This power vacuum allows Maverick crime to rise, leading a vigilante named Red to form a bounty hunting syndicate called Red Alert to pick up the Hunters' slack. One member of Red Alert, the mysterious Conan Edogawa, notices Red becoming increasingly cutthroat and jumps ship. He is pursued by Mechaniloids, causing so much chaos that Byakuya arrests him. Red is not happy about this, and challenges the Maverick Hunters to a contest over custody of Conan. Releasing their captured Mavericks and Mechaniloids, Red proposes that whoever destroys the most Mavericks — including each other — gets to keep Conan. Conan feels responsible for the chaos, and tags along with Byakuya to help him out in the conflict.
- Mega Man X8: It is the year 21XX, long after the Red Alert incident. The humans seek asylum from the Maverick Wars by colonizing the Moon in the "Jakob Project". As part of this project, a new generation of Reploids are put into production. Each contains a DNA Copy Chip that lets them freely change their bodies and nullify viral infections (Conan is revealed to be a prototype of these Reploids), making them immune to the Kaseki Virus. These new generation Reploids help construct an orbital elevator to transport workers and materials into space. The director of the project is a Reploid named Eliot. However, Elliot is suddenly kidnapped by the Maverick Hunters' old enemy Mitsunari Tokugawa, and a worldwide Maverick riot breaks out amongst the new generation Reploids. The Jakob Project has been hijacked for reasons unrelated to any virus. Now it's up to Ginji now (Suzaku Kururugi), Byakuya, and Conan to stop these new Mavericks and rescue Eliot.
