- A Dimensional Traveler (either Azuki Onoya or Tanya von Degurechaff), after getting Trapped in Another World by Kiana Kaslana, wakes up after many years in suspended animation to find a world seemingly at peace, but their powers and their twin sibling missing. Soon after their awakening, the fairy-like being Kaguya Shinomiya accompanies the traveler on their journey to find their sibling and explore the strange new world they find themselves in. And during their travel they sometimes meet with Seto Kaiba, a mysterious man who may know about their missing sibling.
- Along the way, they reach the city of Mondstadt and meet and are helped by the Knights of Favonius, temporarily led by grand master Hitagi Senjougahara and cavalry captain Zenos yae Galvus, outrider Tohru Honda, librarian Neptune, spark knight Shio Kobe (whose mother Belldandy is out adventuring), head alchemist Eiji Okumura and his assistant/apprentice Sagiri Izumi, maid/knight in training Rit, captain and surveyor of the reconnaissance company Mikoto Misaka the Spindrift Knight and Renton Thurston, former knight turned vigilante Giorno Giovanna, adventure guild members Rikka Takanashi the Prinzessin (and her night raven familiar Mercurymon) and Ryuu Yamada the unlucky adventurer, Neku Sakuraba, a boy Raised by Wolves, Cat Girl bartender Nanachi, astrologist Roxy Migurdia, deaconess Nene Yashiro, nun Isuzu Sento, and the bard Shoyo Hinata, who turns out to be the city's god of wind. Azuki/Tanya also encounters Nagoriyuki, the Wolf of the North and the Producer, the Dragon of the East.
- Later on, Azuki/Tanya would travel to Liyue, the nation of contracts. It is ruled by the Qixing, which include the Tianquan Beatrice, the Yuheng Sayaka Miki, half-qilin adeptus and secretary Akane Shinjo, her young assistant Emil, and spy for the Ministry of Civil Affairs Reine Murasame. Azuki/Tanya also encounter pirate captain Ryuko Matoi, bookworm/martial artist Oz Vessalius, pharmacy apprentice Nanoha Takamachi and her boss Vincent Law (who's accompanied by talking snake Chou Chou: Terse), rockstar Azusa Miura, chef Chiyo Sakura, adepti Kirito and Taiyo Hayakawa, exorcists Londrekia Light and his aunt Saber, legal adviser Nadeshiko Kagamihara, opera singer Renge Miyauchi, lion dancer Cappy, head of the funeral parlor Megumin, and her assistant Son Hak who is actually their god of earth, who faked his death. Azuki/Tanya are also able to encounter Ippo Makunouchi, the Lord of Vishaps.
- At some point after their missing sibling was revealed to be the leader of the Abyss Order, Azuki/Tanya visits Inazuma, where Yuno, a member of Ryuko's pirate crew, hails from. Inazuma itself is ruled by the oppressive god of thunder Celty Sturluson and her Number Two Mai Sakurajima. Azuki/Tanya is assisted by the resistance opposing Celty, which is led by Nanami Momozono and her Number Two Reki Kyan and is supported by the Yashiro Commission, whose members consist of clan leader Miyuki Shiba, her retainer Whis, her brother Kaworu Nagisa, pyrotechnician Rin Tohsaka, and ninja Tamako Kitashirakawa. Azuki/Tanya would also meet other people in Inazuma like the boisterous oni Miguel Aiman, his sidekick Laharl, detective Hotarumaru, shrine maiden Nao Tomori and nekomata deliverywoman Nijika Ichiji.
- Azuki/Tanya visit Sumeru next, where they encounter forest watcher Lucy and his assistant Yumine Fuda. The region is governed by the Akademiya, which employs their current scribe Goblin Slayer and General Mahamatra Sora, and whose alumni include the architect Ash Lynx, the sleepwalking Gabriel White Tenma, and the long-lived Minori Kushieda. Other people Azuki/Tanya meet include the dancer Ika Musume, the mercenary Ashley, the Mora-loving merchant Chiyo Mihama, the guardian of Aaru Village Zan Partizanne, the mysterious girl Togame who is actually Sumeru's god of plants, and Kaie Ono, a young man who seeks the wisdom of Hermanubis. Azuki/Tanya are also able to encounter Raven, the Lord of Wenuts.
- Azuki/Tanya visit Fontaine next, where they meet reporter Maika Sakuranomiya, stage magician Keima Katsuragi and his assistant Emilico, diver Rui Kamishiro, prison administrator Jotaro Kujo, Spina di Rosula president Ristarte, Champion Duelist Violet Evergarden, Captain of the Special Security and Surveillance Patrol Pyra/Mythra, fashion designer from Inazuma Kirino Kousaka, melusine Miri Unasaka, Chief Justice Yato, and the Hydro Archon Rem.
- Throughout their journey, Azuki/Tanya is opposed by a Nebulous Evil Organisation called the Fatui. Directed by Magma (codenamed "the Jester"), its eleven top enforcers are known as the Harbingers. They include Michael Roa Valdamjong (codenamed "the Captain"), Albus (codenamed "the Doctor"), Azura (codenamed "the Damselette"), Nanami Miura (codenamed "the Knave"), Brook (codenamed "the Rooster"), Natsu Dragneel (codenamed "the Balladeer"), Yuuko Aioi (codenamed "the Marionette"), Abnes (codenamed "the Fair Lady"), Van (codenamed "the Regrator"), and Lawless (codenamed "Childe").
- Azuki/Tanya can also encounter Ai Enma, an Abyssal swordmaster who trained a young Lawless in her ways.
