LOL, very meme, such many funni, dab
Usually, Monster Legends takes itself rather seriously. Some monsters, on the other hand, can get rather silly, or even downright ridiculous.
  • As you can see in the page image, Socialpoint was most likely on several drugs when creating the Thunder Legendary monster R.O.F.L. Its description doesn't describe it at all, just being a giant Doge meme instead, and all of its attacks and animations reference a multitude of old school memes from the Illuminati to the Falcon Punch to the various Rage Comics faces, and everything in between. Its spotlight video from Socialpoint themselves is a treat to behold, especially its Special skill at the end, Thug Life.
  • The concept of the Breeding Jokers is rather funny when you think about it enough. Three humanoid bird-like monsters named Galante (a suave, romantic man with a focus on roses), Violet (a curvy, gorgeous woman married to Galante), and Galante Jr. (the child of the two, and the dominant popular boy at high-school) are considered valuable monsters, as they can consistently be used in the Breeding Events to obtain new, powerful Legendary monsters in place of certain other monsters. The funny part comes in when you remember that these events usually use quite...random monsters as breeding partners. Out of what tends to appear in these events, this means that these hyper-romantic love masters will be constantly breeding with monsters like Pixelion (a legendary hero who also happens to be a humanoid lion made of pixels), Lord Moltus (all but implied to be an actual demon king), Taiga (a survivalist tiger), Metalhead (an overblown heavy metal rockstar), Burotgor (a Monotaur-like Beastman with a love of violence), Rockantium (a Golem...enough said), and even Cryotan (an Eldritch Abomination born from the core of two living mountains that's even mentioned on the Nightmare Fuel page)
  • Very old monsters tend to have quite cartoonish animations, with many of them performing an Eye Take whenever they get hit, and others performing silly animations for certain attacks, especially their Special skills. Some of the best examples include Tyrannoking putting on boxing gloves when using Devour, or Octocrush's Special skill being a literal Pillow Strike.
  • Some monster concepts on their own are pretty ridiculous. These include, but are not limited to:
    • Lagerchaun: A leprechaun constantly drunk off his ass
    • Roastie: A Thanksgiving turkey that's sick of being on the menu
    • Son-Cookie: A gingerbread man that acts like Goku
    • Tryon: A mixture between a dragon, a chicken, and a centipede with three heads
    • Mommy: The embodiment of a stereotypical mom that also happens to be a weird alien creature
    • D.A.D. Unit: A robot dad
    • Griffin: Surprisingly, a griffin
    • Uru: A jelly blob that takes the form of various Anime heroes
    • Monster D.Vice: A sentient smartphone
  • Drekk is a famous producer of a sap that can heal anything, but this has the problem of him also being a ferocious nature dragon. So how do people coerce it to give them the sap? Bribe it with pancakes.
  • Timerion is a robot that is focused on nothing but supporting his ally team and debuffing the enemy team, and as such, it has no attacking moves. As a side effect of this, it also has no animation for up-close attacks, unlike every other monster in the game. However, it can apply Skill Mirror to itself, which reflects away enemy attacks by copying them, including the animation for them. Combining all of this, when a monster uses an attack that uses the close-up animation against a Timerion with Skill Mirror, watch as Timerion floats over to the foe, not changing its idle animation at all as it does so, and mysteriously dishes out an attack that (most likely) does not fit with his (lack of) animation at all.
    • Even better: You don't need to set up Skill Mirror in a battle to witness this. Just go into the Monstagram and look at his up-close animation in there, and you can view this event at any time.
  • The weakest Legendary monster in the game is Nebotus, a monster so embarrassingly weak in every category, it's generally preferable to use many Epic monsters, or even a few Rares over him. His design is also one of the most powerful-looking in the game, with a menacing pose and a creepy sword with an eye in it. This alone creates a hilarious case of Anti-Climax, but it gets even better when you see some of the other Legendary monsters and learn that Nebotus is outpowered by a nerdy hamster, an actual hologram, multiple old women, an in-universe video game character, everything in the list above...
  • While most everything about Fatid is absolutely disgusting (see Nightmare Fuel), there's just something so hilariously blunt about one of his skills being called Fart Machine.
  • The set of moves exclusive between the three versions of Llum, the Light Nemesis monster. They're perfectly normal and serious on Light of Freedom and Iron Leader, Magical Matriarch's seem the same at first, with the names Opinion Rejected and Powerful Discrepancy...and then her third skill gets the name Shut Up. We're not kidding.
  • Most of the Forsaken have rather depressing backstories. Wildbird was trusted to guard a garden of special golden apples, until he failed because his trust was betrayed by his nonreciprocating crush, Zunobia. Crabbydroid was orphaned by ocean pollution and shunned from the crab community. Ismael was killed and brought to life as an evil puppet. Meanwhile, what happened to make Wickah a Forsaken? She was left out of the Nature community and basically threw a tantrum. Remember, Wickah is an old woman, far from a child. Becomes less funny when you realize why she was constantly excluded and compare it to more pressing issues.
  • As mentioned in Drakor's description, a group of draconic monsters once decided to join forces and make a team together. This band includes Goran, the mountain dragon, Drekk, the forest dragon, Dracontium, the basic fire dragon, Daganth, the dragon made of light and dark...and Eggeater. The snake. With not a draconic ability to be seen. Even better, they never think to bring in Frostwrath, who actually is a dragon, and explicitly leave out Drakor for being only half-dragon. But not Eggeater. The snake.
  • Zombic is a mean-looking, rotted hedgehog that stands as warden of the Monstelvania prison with an iron fist. He's also friends with Muerte, a ghoulish teenage boy with the most disgusting face ever, and the two have been planning something mysterious together that they want to keep that way. When Count Vlad caught wind of this, he decided to take a look for himself into this business, expecting the worst. What he found would change his perspective on the two forever...a dainty little gardening club.
  • Necromancer, the warmaster of the Dark element, wanted to revive the ancient evil being known as Lord Pumpseed trapped in a bottomless well. Unfortunately, he made the mistake of sending Hayman out to do his dirty work, giving him an enchanted staff and proper robes and demanding he toss them into the well alongside his rotten pumpkin to resurrect Pumpseed under Necromancer's control. After a predictable slip-up involving Hayman throwing the enchanted items into the wrong well, by the time he found the right one, he didn't have the items he needed except for his pumpkin. Hoping it would work well enough, he simply threw in a regular twig and a piece of his rag alongside the pumpkin and waited. And in due time, Pumpseed actually was brought to life!...wearing a ridiculous clown suit and wielding the almighty stick as his staff.
  • After quite a long time without anything notably funny, Monster Legends finally goes deeper into its lore with the Era Sagas, special dungeons used to tell the story of the Corrupted Era it was introduced in, and a couple of these are able to bring a few chuckles. For example:
    • During Chapter 3 with Lady Meow, Lady Meow and her gang run into Wickah, mentioned above. It seems she has yet to solve her problems with ignorance, too, as every word she spouts is drenched in glorious passive-aggressiveness.
Lady Meow: Hello Wickah! Was your side of the forest affected by the explosion of Lutum too?
Wickah: It's in terrible condition. As usual. But no one seems to care...Also, as usual.
Kat-herine: We would love to help but we need to stop the spread of Corruption.
Wickah: Ah yes, Corruption. The only problem there seems to be at the moment.
    • Chapter 4 with Neurofunk introduces us to the featured monster Neurofunk, an ultra-intelligent mushroom corrupted by the Lord. This would easily be an intimidating prospect, and he does prove himself rather powerful...but his intelligence causes him to overanalyze everything by percentages to an unnecessary degree. While this would seem like just a character quirk, it ends up annoying his allies a lot more than it does the audience. For example, his encounter with the Lord's spy, Mouseron:
Mouseron: Pssst. Are you Neurofunk? I'm Mouseron. I have some information for you.
Neurofunk: There are 300 monsters and 1 is an infiltrator. There's a 0.3333% chance you're the infiltrator. The infiltrator is a mouse and you're the only mouse. There is a 100% chance you're Mouseron, the infiltrator.
Mouseron: What the... I already told you that I'm Mouseron!
      (later...)
Mouseron: Gregorz has taken the South Route to the Light Castle, but you can't let him reach it. That place is almost impregnable.
Neurofunk: The South Route is 30 miles long. If he left 2 hours ago, he must be-
Mouseron: You need to know that, with our Lord's armor on him, Gregorz will be stronger than usual. If you catch him, he will put up a fight.
Neurofunk: Gregorz's health is 50,351. With the armor, he must be-
Mouseron: You're exhausting! Go or you won't make it!
    • During the Valentines Day 2023 event, one monster made a Love Potion, unfortunately it ended up in the drinks of several other monsters as well. So the monster goes Cherub Cupid and asks him to do the opposite of what he usually does (make monsters fall out of love instead of falling in love).
