An earthbound spirit in the library of a certain school. She is aware that she is a spirit. She is usually very quiet, but when she talks about books and things she doesn't know, she gets very excited.

• Affectionate Nickname: Haruka calls her Tsumu-chan.
• Accidental Misnaming: Due to similar kanjis, her surname has sometimes been mistaken as "Suwabe". Even her wave mate Seto accidentally called her Suwabe during Seto's debut.
• Black Comedy: A common joke surrounding her is that she's dead, being a ghost and all. An application sheet of her lists "being dead" as an advantage and disadvantage. Her wave mates commonly joke about that she's both "dead and well". Her colleagues sometimes try to evoke her spirit, and that she should come back for Obon, the holiday of the dead.
• The Cameo: A funeral picture of her appears in Debiru's wedding stream, due to both of them sharing the same artist.
• Chuck Cunningham Syndrome: Stopped streaming two weeks after her debut, and as of March 2024, has not streamed or tweeted in over five years. However, she has not officially quit NIJISANJI and her merchandise is still available on the official website. Her name was also added in NIJIFes 2022's and NIJIFes 2023's class lists later on where she's sorted into the Green Class.
• The Ghost: Not just in the literal sense. Other livers occasionally report contacting her for various reasons, so at least she hasn't disappeared completely.
• Irony:
  • As mentioned by herself, she's afraid of horror games despite being a ghost.
  • For her third stream, she goes sightseeing to a salt lake despite being weak to salt.
• Last-Name Basis: She's almost always referred to as Kataribe. She and Seto are also on last-name basis to each other.
• Our Ghosts Are Different: She has no problem touching objects, and apparently being bound to a library didn't stop her from broadcasting from a salt lake.

• The Ace: Toko is reputable for having one of the best singing voices not just within Nijisanji, but among all VTubers, period. This makes her a great collaboration partner for group songs, and a staple of live concerts.
• Beautiful Singing Voice: She is known for her deep and soulful voice, and is one of the most popular singers among all Virtual YouTubers.
• Crossover: She is good friends with Hoshimachi Suisei from hololive. Like Toko, she is also regarded as one of the most talented singers of her respective company, and the two regularly record duets for each other's channels. They also host a joint radio show (Tokomachi Radio).
• Cute Little Fangs: She has tiny fangs in her mouth, fitting for a Cat Girl.
• The Gadfly: She occasionally acts like this with some of her friends — most notably Ange, Gibara, and hololive's Ayame.
• Hellhound: She's a Cerberus, with her other two heads represented by her hair clips.
• I Am Not Weasel: Do not call her a "dog". She is a very strong Cerberus.
• Mellow Fellow: She's very laid-back and casual during her streams.

• Heterosexual Life-Partners: Ange is best friends with Lize, the two sharing a friendship long before they even began their VTubing careers.
• Netorare: Discussed. She's a huge fan on it, though she makes it clear she doesn't like it in real life.

• Big Sister Instinct: While Lize is very friendly and rarely loses her temper, an easy way to do that is to mention the Third Prince - her younger brother -, as Ange finds out first hand when insinuating taking him on a date...

• Broken Pedestal: Somewhat of a comedic example with Tsukino Mito, who she was a massive fan of even before joining Nijisanji. Their collaborations usually result in Lize constantly stammering her words either out of being too nervous to properly communicate with her - or being too afraid; such as when she pulled an SSR card Mito wanted dearly in Idolmaster Shiny Colors, which brought forth the very worst in Mito - despite her assuring Lize that she would be happy about it regardless of result. Despite the somewhat warped perception of her idol compared to her ideal, Lize still looks up to Mito a lot.

• Cool Sword: Lize has the Helesta Blade, which she showcased in her 3D debut.

• Heterosexual Life-Partners: With Ange. They have been friends for over ten years and regularly interact with each other on streams, and there are a lot of moments that showcase this.
  • The reason Ange became a VTuber in the first place is because Lize asked her to.
  • When Lize wanted to move to virtual Tokyo, her mother was against it at first until Lize told her that Ange will be moving somewhere close by in Tokyo too. Her mother immediately agreed.
• Hidden Depths: For some reason, Lize seems to be extremely knowledgeable on law, such as casually pointing out very specific things in Japanese legislation like it's no big deal (including a disclaimer to not actually take what she's saying as legal advice, which is theoretically illegal!). Fans joke that the Second Princess would obviously know all about the legal system.

• Butt-Monkey: Is sometimes this when Ars is involved, such as the Friday The 13th collab where Ars managed to convince the Nijisanji members who made it to the car to drive off to safety... despite the fact there were three of them in the car and the car was a four-seater. To make things worse, Ars laughed at his desperate screams for them to wait.
• Failure Hero: Ars thinks he's this, thanks to his stupidity-induced shenanigans on Nijisanji's Minecraft server (and his futile attempts to fix said shenanigans). His biggest gaffe was when he accidentally led a crowd of Pillagers into the server's largest player-made village, getting all the NPC villagers killed and causing everyone else online at the time to drop what they were doing to defend it.
• In-Series Nickname: Most livers call him by his nickname "Ebio".
• Knight in Shining Armor: His aesthetic. Whether or not he lives up to this is still debatable however.
• Odd Friendship: With Ars. Ex is loud and hot-blooded, while Ars is shy and reserved. Despite this, the two get along really well and regularly collaborate with each other.

• Curb-Stomp Battle: During the NIJISANJI Koshien 2023, her team, the Yusha Ikusei High School, ended up on the receiving end during their second match, losing with a devastating 1-12 to Yashiro's Yokosuka Ryusei High School. Thankfully, this didn't discouraged her team, as they managed to win all of their remaining matches afterwards, placing 3rd in the tournament.
• Eastern RPG: Her bread and butter when it comes to gaming. Her Yusha Ikusei High School team is also largely comprised of members that fill the fantasy RPG genre, such as having the star batter Ex Albio nicknamed the "Hero" and having her ace pitcher Yang Nari nicknamed "Demon King Nari".

• Cute and Psycho: Despite her cute appearance, her personality is quite chaotic and is sometimes blood thirsty.

• Berserk Button: She really doesn't like it when people comment on her "big face". Even English commenters aren't spared from her anger.
  • That said, occasionally she can't help but laugh, such as the time her face's size was given in meters... and as a result it meant her face dwarfed the Colossal Titan.
• Boke and Tsukkomi Routine: Her interactions with Ex Albio often wind up like this, though who is the boke and who is the tsukkomi tends to depend on who has the upper hand at the moment.
• Hidden Buxom: It's not obvious due to her hood and her short size, but she has a sizable bust. She rubs this in when she gets a 3D model. Removing her hoodie also makes it clear how big her boobs are, especially because of the prominent sideboobs.
• I Just Want to Have Friends: Early in her career, she would sometimes chide herself for not speaking up or making more of an effort to interact with people during collaborations. She's mostly out-grown this.
• The Mentor: To Ex Albio, much to her chagrin.
• Never My Fault: Sometimes does this as a joke, like the time she egged on some of the other Nijisanji members to abandon Albio during a Friday the 13th stream. When, after the game ended, Albio asked whose idea it was to leave him behind, she immediately claimed it wasn't her fault because she wasn't the driver.
• The Night Owl: Frequently starts her streams after midnight.
• Shrinking Violet: Downplayed. She has a reputation of being shy and anxious around large groups of people, but has no problem talking to other livers one-on-one, or streaming and interacting with large amounts of viewers.
• Sideboob: Her default outfit has a bit of a sideboob. which is more apparent on her key art, her design sketch and her 3D model. If her entire hoodie is removed, it reveals a black one piece dress with prominent sideboobs which are visible even from the front.
• Running Gag: Her face being bigger compared to everyone else due to her design is a common joke. It's often exaggerated by her fellow livers.
• Took a Level in Cheerfulness: She has become noticeably more social throughout her streaming career.

• Atomic F-Bomb: In one of her most infamous clips taken from her stream of Syobon Action, she lets out an insanely loud shriek of Aaa Gomikasu, Shine!!!! (loosely translated: Ahh! You garbage! Go die!!!!) during a fail.
• Boyfriend Bluff: She once did this to Meiji in order to scare off a couple of guys who were harassing them on the street.
• But Now I Must Go: Graduated on her own terms, citing that she had "found her calling", on March 10, 2021.
• Characterization Marches On: Otogibara maintained her official Cinderella-modeled characterization within her first stream, but managed to utterly destroy this initial characterization over the course of her first few weeks of streaming, replacing it with the real streamer's unadulterated crass persona. It gets to the point where her fans would separate her early characterization, Era-chan, and her current persona into two characters; Era is cute, shy, innocent, and speaks with a pleasant high voice, while Gibara is vulgar, short tempered, and speaks with a loud and deep voice that often breaks into monkey-like squeals or vomit noises when she's excited.
• Comedic Lolicon: She is as much of a lolicon as Kenmochi is.
• Early-Installment Weirdness: Her early on-screen behavior is so different from her later behavior, that her first stream and the Era-chan personality has become something of a meme.
• Fairytale Motifs: She associated with Cinderella, from her outfit to her lore.
• The Gambling Addict: She likes to gamble a lot.
  • Otogibara plays a lot of gacha games. Since 2020, the gaming content on her YouTube channel, excluding Nintendo games and some viral games, consists almost exclusively of gacha games like The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls Starlight Stage or Twisted Wonderland. She even did several Animal Crossing: New Horizons gacha streams by endlessly rolling for villagers using the Nook Miles Ticket.
  • She's no stranger to more "traditional" gambling, either. She spends a lot of time in GTA Online's Diamond Casino in at least two hours-long streams. One of them was a collab with Chaika, Yashiro and Hayato, who eventually got bored and went to the casino's clothing store to goof off and buy comical T-shirts. Era instead silently walked off to play the nearby slot machines again, with the other three members not knowing where she was for several minutes.
• The Hyena: She's quite easy to get laughing, and once she does, she has a hard time calming back down until a good amount of time passes. Her most notable example being her Plug and Play stream, which had laughing so hard that she essentially remained stuck for a good amount of time.
• I Hate Past Me: Gibara is absolutely horrified at her over-the-top performance in her first stream, and cringes non-stop in her rewatch of the stream. Even mimicking her performance in her first stream ("Hajimemashite~! Otogibara *gasp* Era desu~! *gah*") is enough to send her into a cringe fit.
• Money Fetish: In most of Nijisanji's 3D debut streams, some sort of object or character is used to represent superchat donations, with the size of said object corresponding to how much they donated. In Era's 3D debut stream, however, they're just straight up yen bills. She's absolutely ecstatic when yen literally rains from the sky after a big donation and, at one point, lays down to let the bills bury her.
• In-Series Nickname: She is commonly referred to as Gibara. Her debut self is referred to as Era-chan.
• Rebellious Princess: Exaggerated and Played for Laughs; despite her Cinderella-based official characterization, she has a ridiculously crass personality on screen, and in her famous GTA5 streams she plays the game in a hilariously violent manner, as she regularly and casually assaults all the pedestrians she comes across. She even did a GTA5 stream the night she received her princess costume, playing GTA5 in her usual hyperviolent manner while wearing her princess dress.
• Stress Vomit: She has a habit of retching when stressed or in response to something disgusting. Like the time she was force to eat a cricket in a "guess what your eating while blindfolded challenge".
• Talk Show: Since April 2020, she has been making weekly radio talk shows with Morinaka Kazaki (as the petit fleurs unit) as a part of A&G ARTIST ZONE THE CATCH; this correlates to a significant decrease in her YouTube streaming frequency.
• Vocal Evolution: Gibara makes no attempt to maintain her cutesy Era voice that she used in her first stream; she either uses her low daily voice or a somewhat raised voice in her appearances after the first stream. She only occasionally goes back to that voice for jokes or singing.
• Vomit Discretion Shot: One of the things Era's most notorious for is audibly vomiting during her first 3D stream after eating an edible cricket while blindfolded. While nothing was shown due to being a virtual reality stream, the staff still put up an intermission video during the debacle, with fellow member Meiji sounding distressed during the whole thing.
• You Have No Idea Who You're Dealing With: One of her most famous lines is "Ware Nijisanji zo!" ("I'm Nijisanji, you know!"), uttered while beating up an NPC after they punched her in Grand Theft Auto V.
