Following the unexpected success of the first and second waves of Nijisanji livers and continued problems in getting approval for the Nijisanji app's public release, Ichikara changed direction, focusing on finding streaming talent. With this in mind, they launched two new groups, the first being Nijisanji Gamers, which would focus on game streaming, and the second being Nijisanji SEEDs. Both groups were later merged into the main branch at the end December 2018. The current members of Gamers are referred to as "EX-Gamers".

On 14 May 2022, Kanae reached 1 million subscribers on his Youtube channel, making him the second Nijisanji liver and male VTuber worldwide to reach the milestone after Kuzuha.

• The Ace: He's very skilled at Battle Royale First-Person Shooter games. Especially Apex Legends.
• Affectionate Nickname: He’s called "Kanakana" and "Kanaway" by friends and fans alike.
• Animal Motifs: Well not as prevalent as other members, Kanae's motif is mainly Cats based on his hoodie he wears and cushion cat, Roto.
• Companion Cube: He carries around a cushion cat named Roto.
• Cuddle Bug: He apparently has a tendency to casually snuggle up to Kuzuha when they off-collab. The same conversation also has him happily reminiscing on being hugged by Akina.
• Engrish: He often resorts to this during collaboration streams with English-speaking branches of Nijisanji, such as during their Among Us collaboration.
• The Gadfly: Though not as outright trolly and aggressive as Sasaki, Kanae is quite mischievous and likes to play tricks to mess with his fellow streamers.
• The Gambling Addict: He spent tons of money on gacha games such as Arknights and Genshin Impact.
• Nice Guy: Multiple members note that he's very nice and helpful.
• The Night Owl: Another part of his international popularity is that he sometimes streams late in the night in Japan, while its daytime in western countries.
• Odd Friendship: He often collabs with some famous utaites such as Soraru, Sou, Amatsuki and Nqrse. He’s also friends with professional gamers such as Ras, Alelu and Kamito.
• Only One Name: He doesn't have a surname.
• Sadist: He, maybe jokingly, shows some tendencies that put him in this light.
• Significant Birth Date: His birthday falls on July 7th, which falls on Tanabata.
• Soft-Spoken Sadist: Even when he's at his most threatening he can still maintain his calm voice, such as the time when he forced Chaika, Marin and Mao into a death game after they tried to scam him in Ark.
• Team Dad: Within ex-Gamers, he keeps the others in check if things get too chaotic.
• The Tease: He developed a reputation for teasing his fellow Vtubers, especially Kuzuha who he has a very close friendship with.
• Those Two Guys: He has a duo streaming channel with Kuzuha called Chronoir.
• Vague Age: His age is currently unknown. Though some might speculate him to be around 20 to 25 years old.
• Vocal Evolution: Kanae in his earliest streams has a noticeably softened voice, most likely a result of him attempting to hold up his official characterization of a pleasant and heartwarming Nice Guy. He stopped using the voice as he transitioned from his official characterization into his current mischievous personality.
• The Workaholic: He tends to stream once a day without any breaks. Some of his longer streams tend to go into Sleep Deprivation territory.
• Yandere: Occasionally veers into this sometimes. These two videos are the most well known examples.

• 10-Minute Retirement: Retired on November 15, 2018 and returned on January 16, 2019. As of September 2020, this makes her the only Nijisanji member to return after retirement.
• The Ace: She served as the ace pitcher of Leos's Mameneko Kouka High School during the NIJISANJI Koshien 2023, who invested in her growth the most right from the get-go.
• Animal Motif: Pandas and Japanese Pancake Devilfish as seen on her earring.
• Angrish: During her stream of Kuru Kuru Kururin, she got so pissed off by the game that she spent most of the stream screaming.
• Childhood Friends: With Shiina Yuika as they've known each other before they debuted.
• The Chew Toy: Sasaki has been characterized as a VTuber with a habit of constantly failing and raging in games, and her fail and rage compilations are some of her most popular contents.
• Crocodile Tears: Sasaki sometimes puts up a very bad imitation of crying to either annoy others or for the sake of comedy.

• The Idiot from Osaka: Sasaki speaks with a Kansai dialect, and plays up her irritating and irritable personality on screen.
• Laser-Guided Karma: Sasaki's taunts of other streamers or her audience often comes back to bite her when she fails against them in games.
• Last-Name Basis: She is only ever referred to by her surname. That said, she has stated on multiple occasions that she prefers to be called by her given name. In her second anniversary stream, she once again says that she wants to be called by her given name more.
• Percussive Therapy: Sasaki likes to smack her table when she gets angry. She once got so angry that she smacked a hole in her table.
• Pint-Sized Powerhouse: Saku is only 148 cm (or 4'10") tall, but she packs quite a bit of strength, as seen in these two clips.
• Sore Loser: Sasaki, especially when agitated, throws massive tantrums when she loses against others.
• Unsympathetic Comedy Protagonist: This is how Sasaki portrays herself in her videos, a smug and easily irritated girl who often bullies others but gets her comeuppance with her constant fails and rages.

• The Ace: She served as the ace pitcher of Igarashi's St. Azarashi High School during the NIJISANJI Koshien 2023. Unfortunately, the newbie team placed ninth in the tournament, losing every match in the B League, and only barely winning against the far worse Koku Academy. While she's the best player in the team, Igarashi had Shu as a relief pitcher to substitute for Himawari when she's low on stamina.
• Berserk Button: Don't call her fat. (She revealed that she is a little on the weightier side on a few of her streams)
• Cloudcuckoolander: Among other things, she thought the moon and the sun were the same thing.
• The Ditz: Himawari is very spacey, often not clarifying her points at all and speaking without really a filter. She once confused co-streamers Kuzuha and Yashiro Kizuku by talking about her cat having kittens, except she failed to mention it being her cat, causing the two to think she was the one who had kids and was back streaming only a short few days later. She completely failed to understand what they meant as well.
• Father, I Want to Marry My Brother: She once appeared on Mito's stream as a guest and, when asked about her childhood dreams, revealed that one of them was to marry her older brother.
• Flower Motifs: Sunflowers. In fact, her name (Himawari) literally means sunflower.
• The Heart: As one of the most kindhearted members of Nijisanji, Himawari acts as the moral center of the Nijisanji Gamers lineup as well as Dokuzuhonsha to a lesser extent.
• Hidden Depths: Himawari is actually an excellent video producer who has produced the MVs for several Nijisanji members' song covers, including some of her own.
• Idiot Hair: Suiting her airheaded personality, Himawari has an ahoge.
• Kindhearted Cat Lover: She owns a pet cat that has been seen or referenced a few times on stream.
• Nice Girl: Though Himawari is quite airheaded, she is a ultimately a nice and kind girl who tries her best to keep her streams family friendly by avoiding swears and rages.
• Perpetual Smiler: Her avatar is almost always smiling, usually with a wide open mouth.
• Signature Headgear: Her sunflower.
• Third-Person Person: Often refers to herself as "Hima".

• Token Mini-Moe: A scant 110 cm, at that. Even after aging up from 10 to 13 she's still only 138cm.
• Troll: During her succubus outfit reveal stream, she set up her viewers with a Bait-and-Switch "costume" before the actual reveal. Behold, Cucumber Ririmu!

Kuzuha

A NEET vampire who's a gaming addict.

On September 2, 2021, Kuzuha is the first liver of Nijisanji to hit 1 million subscribers on Youtube, the first male VTuber to hit that milestone. He used to be the most subscribed Nijisanji liver until the rise of Hyakumantenbara Salome. He's currently the most subscribed male VTuber worldwide.

• The Ace: During the NIJISANJI Koshien 2023, "Ohtani" Kuzuha served as the ace pitcher of Shiina's NIJISANJI High School. Kuzuwa was by far the best player in that tournament, thanks to Shiina maxing him out, which led to him far surpassing every other player in the tournament. Even though he was the best player in the tournament, his teammates were also well trained, so that Shiina didn't solely rely on Kuzuha alone.
• Affectionate Nickname: Fellow NIJISANJI members tend to call him Kuu-chan when teasing him.
• Early Installment Character-Design Difference: His original model looks almost completely different compared to his current one he use now.
• Friendly Neighborhood Vampire: Looks like a stereotypical anime vampire — Mystical White Hair, blood-red eyes and some fairly obvious fangs — but he's all around a Nice Guy, especially in comparison to the only other guy in his cohort, Kanae.
• Hidden Depths:
  • He knows how to play the guitar and has shown it off on one stream.
  • He also gives helpful advice as demonstrated in this clip.
• Irony: He's a vampire, but he dislikes anything with horror.
• No Indoor Voice: A lot of his stream time is spent yelling at something. A good example of this can be heard here in one of his Minecraft streams, where he's yelling before, during, and after he accidentally buries himself in an ocean monument.
• No Social Skills: Kuzuha had notoriously poor communication skills. He had an infamously cringeworthy Minecraft collab with Sakura Ritsuki, where he compiled a list of discussion topics the day before full of off-the-wall suggestions from the chat and followed it to the letter, producing such ridiculous interactions such as him complimenting the weather even though it's night time in-game, trying to chat about one's "favorite temperature", and him restarting the discussion topic list from the beginning again and repeating the weather compliments because he reached the bottom of the list.
• Odd Friendship: Similarly to Kanae, he collaborates with popular utaite such as soraru.
• Older Than They Look: He's actually over a hundred years old, despite his appearance.
• Only Known by Their Nickname: Officially, "Kuzuha" is actually a pseudonym he adopted after coming to the human world. His real name is "Aleksandr Lagusa". This is rarely acknowledged; one time his real name was acknowledged was during the Ark saga where he named his tribe "Lagusa Family".
• Pointy Ears: Has these as one of his traits as a vampire.
• Rags to Riches: Earlier in his career, he was an indie vtuber who was scouted by Ichikara. In 2020, he became not only the most Superchatted male VTuber, but also Nijisanji's biggest Superchat earner, period.
• Talk About the Weather: In Kuzuha's infamous Minecraft collab with Sakura Ritsuki, he attempted to maintain the conversation by reading from his list of discussion topics, and throws out a weather compliment completely out of left field. The scenario is so unbelievably embarrassing that it had become a meme in the Nijisanji community.
• Trademark Favorite Food: Caplico Ice cream and Strawberry Latte.
• Those Two Guys: He has a duo streaming channel with Kanae called Chronoir.
• Tsundere: He's often dismissive toward Kanae during their interactions, even denying that they have a close friendship at times despite evidence to the contrary. This is a defining character trait of his that plays into the Ship Tease aspect of their relationship.

Shiina Yuika

• Born Lucky: Shiina is known for her incredible luck, e.g. hitting multiple One-Hit Kill moves in a row during NIJISANJI's Pokémon tournament or winning all matches in the NIJISANJI Koshien 2023. Her luck is acknowledged even by official merchandise, as she represents "The Wheel of Fortune" in NIJISANJI's tarot deck.
• Cute Ghost Girl: Her design is meant to evoke this image. Made more apparent in her key visual where she is making an obake pose◊.
• I See Dead People: She's supposed to be a spirit medium. Ironically, she's terrible with horror games and is easily scared.
• Miracle Rally: The final match of the NIJISANJI Koshien 2020 turned into this for Shiina and her team, NIJISANJI High School. Higuchi Kaede's VR Kansai High School had a 5-0 lead in the first four innings, but by the fifth inning, Coach Shiina's team started to close the gap with 2-6. By the eighth inning, her team got the lead with 7-6, and after the ninth inning, Coach Shiina and NIJISANJI High School won the Koshien with 8-6.
• Last-Name Basis: She's usually referred to by her surname. That said, fans have taken to calling her cute side "Yuika-chan".
• Shipper on Deck: She is one of the biggest fans of GunKan (Gundou Mirei and Kanda Shoichi).
