ProZD is the online handle of American voice actor SungWon Cho (see that page for his acting career). First known for taking requests and dubbing comics, he later gained popularity for creating his own works, mostly short sketches, which are often based around video game and anime clichés, to the point of developing several story arcs with them. He has been known in the past for doing song covers in a Goofy voice. He also had a gaming channel, Press Buttons 'n Talk with his friend Alex which has been retired, and a new gaming channel ProZD Plays Games where he plays with his friends Steve (current) and Jay (previous).

He can be found on YouTube, Tumblr, Twitter and Instagram, among other places. He was also on Vine, but uploaded most of his Vine clips to YouTube even before the former service went down, and has since done professional voice acting for various non-web-related works.

His skits include the following tropes:

• Absurdly Powerful Student Council: student councils in anime compares and contrasts anime student councils versus their real-world counterparts. The former's representative calls the president of the United States a snivelling coward while extorting him before ordering that some tardy students be put to death along with their families. The latter's rather milquetoastly asks if they want to do a fundraiser selling cookies.
• Actually Pretty Funny:
  • "let's read 5 youtube comments" has him respond to four comments attacking his weight, looks and ethnicity with "you should suck my dick". The fifth one, however, calls him a weeaboo to which he replies "...that's fair."
  • In "nerdy t-shirt designers," SungWon comes up with a T-shirt combining Overwatch and Sesame Street into "Groverwatch" before breaking character and admitting that he'd actually buy that one.
• Aerith and Bob: Two of the characters in the King Dragon storyline are brothers Gunther and Lysanderoth.
• all lowercase letters: most of his titles don't use capitalization
• Always with You:
  • "when you skip all the cutscenes to get to the gameplay" has Archibald tell this to Dennis. Of course, SungWon doesn't care for the story and just skips through while yawning loudly.
  • In "A man on his deathbed who is indecisive about his last words", the titular character says this before deciding it sounds creepy and backpedaling.
    "Not like all the time, I'll watch you some of the time, like, not when you're taking a shit or—"
• Air Quotes: In "choosing classes for your party," Braddicus describes how the medics were good at being (cue air quotes) "torn in half." When questioned why he did air quotes, Braddicus says he was just mimicking how the monsters clawed out the medics' eyes while tearing them in half.
• Anti-Climax Boss: invoked King Dragon is probably a capable enough final boss... but Dennis got Sidetracked by the Gold Saucer, found all 900 pine cones, and is so over-leveled that he can one-shot Dragon with a wimpy smack.
• Arbitrary Headcount Limit: invoked Gunther is really annoyed that he has a personal storyline with the game's Obvious Judas, but the player can only bring a small portion of the whole party to battle and he always gets left out in favor of the Ms. Fanservice or several Flat Character meatheads with cool weapons.
• Artificial Stupidity: The subject of "Pokemon NPCs," mocking the games' notoriously silly AI routines.
• Aside Glance:
  • Lysanderoth does this in "replaying a game and knowing all the plot twists, much to the player's increasing anger at the taunts.
  • Used at the end of "youtube" where a YouTube employee exclaims "We just love stupid dipshits!". The latter two words make SungWon lose all of his cheeriness and break character.
• Audience-Alienating Premise: "trying to recommend that one niche show you love" has an In-Universe example, where he tries to recommend Chihayafuru to his friend, only for him to fall asleep before he's done explaining the basic premise.
• Author Appeal:
  • Final Fantasy IX. Its music shows up in a lot of his videos, and "A special message from the creator of Final Fantasy" is about Hironobu Sakaguchi being bribed into saying it's the best one.^note Although the bribe wouldn't have mattered since he's already gone on record saying it's his favourite.
  • Board Games, with his series of reviews spanning over 200 videos and a few skits about them.
• Bathos: "spell names in JRPGs" has Dennis face off against Lysanderoth. However, the drama of the scene is undercut by the two combatants calling out their spell names which are taken from the Dragon Quest series and therefore sound very silly (Kaboomle, Kazammle, etc.).
• Big Damn Movie: In anime timeskips and spinoffs, Chairem Anime is a harem anime starring sentient furniture, but Chairem Anime: The Movie revolves around Tomoko (the main protagonist) defeating a dragon in a kingdom of ice.
• Biting-the-Hand Humor:
  • "youtube" has some thinly-veiled complaints towards the website's treatment of channels such as his vs. that of Logan Paul's following the Suicide Forest incident in early 2018.
  • "youtube is run by fools" explicitly digs at the platform's monetization rules in 2023. He follows the rule to the letter, letting 15 seconds pass without a single swear, and then begins insulting them. The video still got demonetized, much to his chagrin.
  • Any skit that happens to be sponsored will invariably be taking the piss about whatever is sponsoring it. Crunchyroll sponsorships will make fun of anime, Shadowverse and Magic: The Gathering videos lampoon trading card games and Visual Novel cliches, etc.
• Blood Knight: All the Fire Emblem: Three Houses students on account of their Bond One-Liners, but especially Cyril:
  "It's ok to kill as long as you're having fun! Also, I'm 14!"
• Boastful Rap: King Dragon does this in "a villain is really excited to show the hero a rap he wrote". Here's the full version!
• Brick Joke: About two and a half years after "Sidetracked by sidequests", in which he's trying to find pinecones, he one-shots the Final Boss with a slap of doom in "facing the final boss after doing every single sidequest" - he finally has possession of all 900 pinecones.
• Bring My Brown Pants: In "trying to convince your friend a character gets better later", the character in question starts off as a coward who soils his pants in fright.
  Guy 2: [to his friend] You gotta trust me on this.
  Benji-kun: I’m gonna pee my pants, I’m so scared!
  Guy 1: Okay, well, right now, this guy fuckin' sucks.
  Benji-kun: Now I’m peeing and pooping my pants 'cause I’m so scared!
  Guy 2: Just... just wait til episode 50.
  Benji-kun: Now there’s pee and poop everywhere!
  Guy 2: Oh my god.
• Broken Record: Archibald says his Catchphrase whenever he performs an extremely common action. The player very quickly gets sick of it.
  Dennis: [through gritted teeth] Gosh, Archibald, do you think that enemy did or did not get the point? [hears it again] Okay, good to know...
• But Thou Must!: In "games where your choices don't actually matter," Lysanderoth kills Archibald no matter which branch of the Dialogue Tree the player chooses.
• Cain and Abel: Gunther and Lysanderoth are jilted brothers, with Lysanderoth killing the entire village seemingly in an effort to prove his worth to Gunther, not that this gets much focus.
• Calvinball: The ProZD universe features a bizarre and unexplained collectible card game based around the dairy industry, which features as a stand-in for Magic: The Gathering or other card games.
• Captain Ersatz: While most skits either involve his parody characters or directly reference specific shows, sometimes one of these pop up. For instance, "trying to guess anime character ages" features a teenage ex-Child Soldier who now works "at a post office or something"... named "Azalea Evergreen".
• Cargo Ship: In-Universe, the premise of Chairem Anime has a human girl flirt with sentient furniture.
• Cerebus Syndrome: Chairem Anime seems to be hit by this hard, going from a fun harem comedy about a young woman surrounded by sentient furniture who all seem to be in love with her to a gritty drama involving conspiracies, murders, and the main character becoming a half-blind warrior and the President.
• Character Catchphrase: Archibald often repeats the phrase "Hyaa! I think that enemy got... the point!"
• Clickbait Gag:
  • His video "Clickbait" shows how an article called "Pedro Pascal Joins Wonder Woman 2" gets ridiculously mutated by an editor into the completely non-indicative and exploitative "YOU WON'T BELIEVE". The article's author tries to argue that the title is stupid, but it gets thousands of shares from idiots before he can finish his sentence.

  • Inverted in "You WILL Believe How Many Chips I Eat In This Video".

• Cluster F-Bomb: In "official subs vs fansubs," the fansubs are full of cursing, spoofing the fan translation tendency to Spice Up the Subtitles.
• Collection Sidequest:
  • The King Dragon game has a major sidequest where you find 900 collectible pinecones. By the time the player has them all, they're so overleveled the Final Boss is a joke.
  • The shooter game with the inexplicable egg fixation has a side objective to find all 800 eggs. It's not needed to beat the game, but the Golden Ending is locked behind it.
• Continuity Snarl: The King Dragon Canon refers to one or more handheld or console games with an anime spinoff starring King Dragon's son, not related to Chairem Anime except for the non-canon anime crossover movie Chairem Anime: Sofaden: The Movie: Dragon Clash in the Kingdom of Ice featuring an Ice Dragon that may be the same Ice Dragon working for King Dragon in one of the RPGs which may or may not be the same as the beat 'em up, or tile matching game, or card game. If they're separate games, they may share the same plot points, making their true canon status debatable.
• Cool Old Lady: The grandma in this video is apparently intimately familiar with Fire Emblem and Xenoblade Chronicles 1.
• Creator Thumbprint: Most of his videos revolve around video games, anime, and doing silly voices.
• Critical Annoyance: In "low HP in video games", the retro game simultaneously plays the low health/drowning sounds from Pokémon Black and White, Kingdom Hearts, and Sonic the Hedgehog while repeatedly saying "You're dying." This starts when SungWon bumps his elbow on a chair and persists for two hours until he grabs a drink from the fridge, only to start up again when he hits his forehead on the fridge.
• Cute Kitten: Effie and Sophie are black cats who occasionally star in his videos. Other times they just happen to be there.
• Cuteness Proximity: The video "if i were a nature documentary narrator" implies that SungWon believes he would fall prey to this were he to try and narrate such a documentary.
  SungWon: The domestic cat is a small typically furry carnivorous mammal. Cats are often valued by humans for their ability to hunt vermin and their companionship because they're so nice and soft and cute, and everybody likes them—
  Director: That's not in the script.
  SungWon: *Ahem* There are more than seventy cat breeds, and this one is the cutest one of all and everybody likes it—
  Director: [simultaneously] Please get back on script—!
• Disc-One Final Boss: In some videos, King Dragon is defeated halfway through the game.
• Disproportionate Retribution: In "student councils in anime", the Anime Student Council President has six students and their families put to death for the crime of being tardy.
• Don't Explain the Joke: "harem anime where everyone but the protagonist is sentient furniture" ends with SungWon making a pun. After a couple of beats, he starts to repeat it more insistently before being cut off by the end of the video.

• Don't Say Such Stupid Things!: "official subs vs fansubs" is built around such a scene in Naruto... translated into English two different ways.
• Easily Forgiven: Parodied in "when everyone forgives the bad guy even though he did horrible shit".

• Embarrassing but Empowering Outfit: Invoked in "picking RPG clothes based on maxing stats instead of whether they match or not".
• Embarrassing Nickname: According to SungWon himself, the origin of the name ProZD is something so embarrassing that he didn't tell his wife its meaning for over a decade.
• Even Evil Has Standards: The antagonist of "priorities in yu-gi-oh" is out-and-out evil and perfectly willing to risk a gruesome death over a children's card game, but even he gets weirded out when he finds out that ProZD's version of Yugi actively gets aroused by the danger.
• Everyone Is Jesus in Purgatory: invoked Parodied in "anime fans". A fan gives various reasons for the fanservice in the show involving the heroine involving symbolism, meta commentary, and allusions to classical literature; meanwhile, the guy who actually made the show outright says he just put it all in to see tits.
• Evil Knockoff: He mocks that some of the Marvel movie villains are merely copies of the heroes with "evil" qualities tacked on.
  [on Mordo] How about he's- he's Doctor Strange, but it's the evil, evil Doctor Strange, and he's bad, bad...bad guy! [Beat] And he wants to open the Dark Dimension!^note This one actually predates the film version of the character and plot in question by several years!

  • Somewhere along the way in "Chairem Anime", Refrigerator-senpai betrays the others.
  • Lysanderoth will inevitably betray the hero's party at some point.
• Face of a Thug: The Traveler incutscenes that keep the stupid clothes you put on your character pt. 2 scares everyone except his companion. It is not helped by the him barely speaking, his one line said in a very evil-sounding deep voice.
• Fan Myopia: invoked Parodied in "casual vs diehard kingdom hearts fans watching new trailers" which describes two different people watching a trailer for Kingdom Hearts III. The casual fan enjoys the inclusion of Frozen (2013) and Hamm from Toy Story, while the diehard fan weeps at "Aqua getting Norted" in the trailer, which the casual player has no idea how to respond to. About the only thing the casual fan seems to understand is that the diehard fan wants Aqua to step on him, which the casual fan calls "definitely inappropriate" to say.
• Feghoot: "harem anime where everyone but the protagonist is sentient furniture" ends with SungWon saying "More like chairem anime."
• Film Noir: His take on "detective pikachu" is a send-up of the noir genre, with cynical, gravelly-voiced Det. Pikachu and his partner Jake reviewing the details of a grisly murder.
  Det. Pikachu: We're all monsters, Jake. Monsters in the pocket of God.
• Five-Second Rule: SungWon invokes the five-second rule when he drops a microwaved pizza roll on the floor whilst yelling at the TV about sloppy food presentation whilst watching an episode of Chopped in his skit "when you think you're an expert after watching a TV cooking competition".
• Forced Transformation: In "games that think more gameplay mechanics equals more fun", the weird Egg guy turns the player into an egg to participate in some form of a racing minigame.
• Fun with Acronyms: "relationship management in JRPGs" has a Chairem Anime Visual Novel which features the M.O.U.T.H. (Must Often Utter Talking-Points Hastily) system where what's said and how it's said determines the story.
• Furry Confusion: The cow card game in "when your opponent won't finish you off in a card game" includes both Cowboy Cow (a cow-headed humanoid who is also a cowboy) and Cowboy Cow's Cow (a regular-looking cow).
• Game-Breaker: invokedIn How Different Players Build Their Decks:
  • One of the players creates an insanely broken combo of Count Cornelius Cheddar who can untap (recharge) other Cheese/Creature hybrids when he enters the battlefield, and Brie Breaker which can be tapped to create a copy of another cheese/creature hybrid. The result is that he can create a copy of Count Cornelius Cheddar, which untaps Brie Breaker when it enters the battlefield which then creates another Count Cornelius Cheddar, etc. This combo is in fact a reference to the Splinter Twin deck from Magic: The Gathering which was itself banned due to being overpowered.
  • There is also Groin Puncher. We don't get to see exactly what its stats are, but he apparently summons his four identical twin brothers and allows his player to punch their opponent in the groin in real life.
• Gameplay Roulette: Parodied in "games that think more gameplay mechanics equals more fun."
• Genre-Busting: The in-universe King Dragon series started out as a standard RPG, but over time has become a blend of RPGs, Dating Sims, card game mechanics, and Match Three Games. SungWon imagines that it's widely acclaimed in-universe for how it blends elements from multiple gaming genres.
• Genre Deconstruction:
  • "If the Pokemon TV show were like the games" shows what would happen if the battles in Pokémon: The Series played out like it was in one of the games, with the Charizard's trainer using a Full Restore, and that for Ash to give up, they not only have to pay $1200, but then black out.
  • The basis for "Maybe a villain song wasn't the best idea" is this. Dennis gets annoyed by the two minute long song and stabs King Dragon while he's distracted.
  • In "beds in Pokemon Sun and Moon", the homeowners are much more irritated and anxious about a complete stranger breaking into their house to sleep in their bed.
• Genre Shift: Chairem Anime starts out like a typical harem, but then Refrigerator-senpai kills Lamp-senpai and goes on the run, starting a chain of events which eventually lead to Tomoko becoming a legendary warrior and also the President. The genre shift is so much that where the original was parodying Ouran High School Host Club, the later entries are instead named after Naruto. Including the ridiculous non-canon Chairem Anime the Movie: Dragon Clash in the Kingdom of Ice.
• The Ghost: The Living MacGuffin of his RPG sketches, Prince Horace, is never seen.
• Got Me Doing It: "anime reaction sounds" has SungWon watching Lucky Star and its characters making happy noises which he does. Another SungWon comes in and asks what he's doing who gets the same noise and he does it too when he realizes "It's spreading".
• Gotta Catch 'Em All: "games that think more gameplay mechanics equals more fun":
  Game: ...Speaking of eggs, don't forget to find all 800 eggs scattered throughout all the worlds!
  Player Character: Is that optional?
  Game: Oh yeah, sure, it's optional.
  Player Character: Oh, okay.
  Game: Yeah, sure, if you don't care about seeing the true ending.

• Gratuitous Japanese: "when an anime opening clashes in tone" has Pizza Brothers' logo in kanji which translates to "Pizza Kyoudai".
• Growing the Beard: invoked "trying to convince your friend a character gets better later" deals with the awkwardness that results from one person knowing this trope is coming for Benji-kun, the whiny cowardly Scrappy, but having to explain to the person who hasn't seen the show yet that he honestly does get better.
• Guest Star: Veronica Taylor, the original voice actor for Ash, dubs over SungWon Ash in "if the Pokemon TV show were like the games".
• Guide Dang It!: "super mario odyssey" has him searching on the internet for the last moon. It turns out that he has to stare up at the sky to a floating taxi for five seconds and it'll pop up.
  "Are you f*cking kidding me?"
• Harsher in Hindsight: In-Universe, "replaying a game and knowing all the plot twists" renders much of what Lysanderoth says this after he shoots Archibald dead.
• Here We Go Again!: "playing fire emblem: three houses again" has him as the narrator exasperated that by this point, the player has already beaten the game four times and what's the point of doing it a fifth time? It then shows Edelgard and Bernadetta in maid costumes and says that's a good enough reason.
• Hidden Depths: Lysanderoth is implied to have these and a Freudian Excuse for his actions. "Implied" because whenever this comes up it inevitably ties into Gunther, whose Running Gag is that his and Lysanderoth's backstory and interactions get glossed over.
• High-Class Glass: His wealthy characters (as well as some of his villainous characters) tend to wear monocles as well as spectacles.
• Hufflepuff House: Brought up in The Four Hogwarts Houses.
  Dumbledore: Wise Ravenclaw, cunning Slytherin, brave Gryffindor, and Hufflepuff... they're there too I guess.
• Hypocritical Humor: The reviewer in Five HUMILIATING Mistakes in Disney’s Zootopia claims that “Walt Disney must be rolling in his grave” over the film’s use of Funny Animals… while zooming in on a picture of Disney holding figurines of Mickey Mouse and Goofy.
• I Know Mortal Kombat: A non-video game example, but used in "when you think you're an expert after watching a TV cooking competition" after SungWon loudly complains about how to cook chicken, while also shown to be an inexperienced cook himself, burning pizza rolls while complaining.
• I'm a Humanitarian: Hey Bryce? Eat David.
• Improbable Age: Discussed in "Trying to Guess Anime Characters' Ages". The Shell-Shocked Veteran who has 1000 kills? 14. The world weary pianist? 8. The one character to act childish? 1000.
• Ineffectual Sympathetic Villain: The villain from "a villain who unintentionally always does helpful things" is very upset to learn that his attempt to poison a water supply actually led to a case of Nice Job Fixing It, Villain to the point that he shoots the hero thanking him... and unintentionally heals the hero's arm in the process.
• Informed Ability: Played for Laughs in "when you start a new game and you meet the character you know is going to betray you" with the player being the only one who sees that Lysanderoth is Obviously Evil, yet his status as The Mole is treated as a shocking twist that he hid by being a master of deception.
• Innocent Innuendo: "when a game's audio is more suggestive than you realize"
• Instant Home Delivery: Averted and Parodied in "fedex delivery" which has SungWon get increasingly annoyed at a late package with FedEx giving him the runaround.
• Instrumental Weapon: Tchaikovsky proposes using cannons in a piece of music. Tchaikovsky yes! TCHAIKOVSKY ALWAYS YES!
• Internet Jerk: According to "venting online about a hard part in a videogame", doing so will net you the worst replies the internet has to offer.
  SungWon: (furious) Siri, how do I delete ALL OF TWITTER?
• Interrupted by the End: Quite a few skits have someone being cut off mid-sentence by the end of the video for humorous effect.
• Irrelevant Sidequest: The whole plot of the video "avoiding the story path in a dungeon so you can explore all the other paths" has Archibald basically doing every Fetch Quest and Sidequest possible to see all the content the game has to offer and get rewarded for it, but is completely irrelevant to actually progressing the story.
• Just Here for Godzilla: In "me watching Kingdom Hearts III trailers", it's clear that SungWon only cares about the Disney crossover aspect of Kingdom Hearts, and is completely apathetic about the plot.invoked
• Just One More Level!: "I could be playing Pokémon right now."
  • The narrator of Fire Emblem: Three Houses actually starts berating him for launching into a fifth playthrough when there's so many other games he could be playing (including Pokémon Sword and Shield, ironically enough given the previous entry). At least until he sees the reason for the new playthrough: DLC Meido outfits.

• Killed Mid-Sentence: King Dragon in "facing the final boss after doing every single sidequest", where Dennis, thanks to lots of incidental Level Grinding while collecting all 900 pine cones, kills him with a single slap in the middle of dialogue:
  King Dragon: So, you've finally arrived. Well, you'll never save Prince Horace. I, King Dragon, will—(slapped, theme music stops) uh... will... [thud]
• Lampshaded the Obscure Reference: "bad luck streaks in card games" contains a pun referencing the animated movie Rover Dangerfield, an obscure reference that the character in the video points out.
  Narrator: Clover Dangerfield.
  Character: Is that a pun referencing the 1991 animated film Rover Dangerfield?
  Narrator: Yes.
  Character: That's a deep cut, for an audience of... zero.
  Narrator: Shut up.
• Language Barrier: Demonstrated in getting into a conversation in a language you don't actually speak that well which also inverts the Mistaken for Foreigner trope. SungWon is Korean American but only has a limited grasp of basic Korean so when a native Korean speaker who doesn't know much English starts to converse with him it leads to him panicking and stringing the few words he does know together as the Sonic the Hedgehog drowning music plays.
• Larynx Dissonance: SungWon has a pretty impressive vocal range (one reason he's gone professional), but when it comes to voicing women he falls back on the classic Miss Piggy voice.

• Late-Arrival Spoiler: "anime story arc titles" has a newbie fan watching a show that's been around for a while and has some weirdly named arcs that the fans know of and which outright spoil shocking twists and deaths.
• Layperson's Terms: Parodied in "TV detective vs tech guy," where the TV detective makes increasingly oddly specific requests to translate the tech guy's phrase "we can't track his computer" into various spoken languages; starting off innocently; Tech speak to layperson's terms, moving onto the absurd; English to French, then the detective asks for the phrase in morse code.
• Let Me Get This Straight...: In "so let me get this straight", a parody of Forspoken's trailer, SungWon imagines Mario reacting this way in Super Mario Odyssey. He does the same thing for Animal Crossing and Danganronpa while wearing Isabelle and Monokuma hats, respectively.

• Limited Special Collector's Ultimate Edition: In-universe, a Parody Commercial promotes a Chairem Anime box set containing all 500 episodes, and several pointless feelies, such as "an ugly figure" and "some other crap you don't want." It's such a limited run, they're only selling three.
• Literal Genie: Implied in this Vine, where a man gains the ability to talk to objects, but is unable to understand their language. Then it cuts to the guy angrily asking someone (presumably a genie) "Okay, my second wish..."
• Man of a Thousand Voices: Over the years, SungWon has shown a lot of vocal range in his videos.
• invoked Mistaken for Romance: "Shipping characters" has a guy claiming two characters are "fucking" simply because they greeted each other. The other guy is skeptical... at least until the two characters' language starts getting intimate. For bonus points, it's a Cargo Ship.

  • The ending of "games where only the cutscenes have full voice acting" has the characters talking about the deaths that haunt them while upbeat music plays.
• Mood Whiplash:
  • "games where only the cutscenes have full voice acting", as a dramatic scene goes from full voice acting with sad music to Voice Grunting with upbeat music.
  • "Uptown Goof" takes quite a turn when the copyright police show up.
  • After a tense scene in "when an anime opening completely clashes in tone", with Diana quitting Younger Pizza Brother's restaurant, it cuts to him goofily singing a metal version of "That's Amore".
• Morton's Fork: Parodied in "games where your choices don't actually matter", particularly of the Telltale series' tendency to do this to "meaningful" decisions:
  1. Why are you doing this? - His master told him to. He then shoots Archibald.
  2. Let's Negotiate! - Lysanderoth declines, and then he shoots Archibald.
  3. [DISTRACT] Where is Prince Horace? - Lysanderoth ponders for a moment, and says he doesn't know, then he shoots Archibald.
  4. Knock gun out of Lysanderoth's Hand - Lysandroth reveals he had a second gun behind his back the whole time... and then shoots Archibald.
• Multiple Endings: The Chairem Anime game in "relationship management in JRPGs" has SungWon get the Pepper Ending.
• Multi-Slot Character: Parodied in the "new cards in gacha games" skit, where the player is happy with the Normal Archibald variant they summoned in the King Dragon Canon gacha game. A disembodied voice then announces the game is getting variant cards of Archibald, including Rare Archibald (who wears a hat), an SR labor day exclusive collaboration event Archibald, and an SSR card of Young Archibald. That last one is enough for the player to start spending money for summoning crystals. Each Archibald has a different variation of his Character Catchphrase.
  Normal Archibald: Hyah! I think that enemy got the point!
  Hat Archibald: Hyah! I think that enemy saw my hat!
  Labor Archibald: Hyah! I think that workers have contributed to our country!
• Mundane Made Awesome: "sports commentators commentating a romantic anime scene", where an emotionally-charged love confession scene is amusingly spoofed by adding in color commentary as if it were a sports maneuver.
• Nap-Inducing Speak: In "trying to recommend that one niche show you love", SungWon explaining the invokedAudience-Alienating Premise of Chihayafuru is enough to put his friend to sleep.
• "Near and Dear" Baby Naming: Parodied in one sketch, where a father tells his son that he was named after two of the bravest men he knew. The son is rightfully upset with his name: Goku Naruto.
  Father: Goku was a Super Saiyan!
• Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: "a villain who unintentionally always does helpful things"
  Dr. Mean: The city is doomed, Commander Fistfight! I've poisoned the water supply!
  Commander Fistfight: Actually, because you poisoned the water supply, we discovered that the city's pipe infrastructure is really severely outdated, so thank you for bringing our attention to that, millions of people could've gotten really sick over the next few years. Secondly, because you snuck past the security system so easily, we found out that funds specifically for that security system were being embezzled by government officials, so we've busted a major fraud ring. And finally, the pathogen you unleashed does give people mild diarrhea, but we've found it also is a great source of Vitamin C.
  Dr. Mean: Okay, whatever. Take this! [shoots Commander Fistfight, hitting him in the shoulder]
  Commander Fistfight: [recoils slightly, then moves his shoulder around] You fixed my shoulder.
  Dr. Mean: GODDAMMIT!
• Non-Human Head: Cowboy Cow and Groin Puncher (from the cow card game) have humanlike bodies and cow heads.
• Non-Player Character: Some skits poke fun at the idea of NPCs, especially for doing things like repeating lines, and standing around in one place forever.
• Non-Serial Movie: The King Dragon Canon/Chairem Anime crossover movie appears to be independent of the game and anime series timeline.
• "Not Making This Up" Disclaimer: "when card names get ridiculous" digs at Overly Long Names, but the first card played is Buffalong Bill, and he breaks character to confirm that it is a real card from Battle Spirits Saga.
• Noticing the Fourth Wall: It finally happens in "when the characters in the skit realize something". One of the characters asks the other to raise their right hand, only for them to not be able to do it...
• Obligatory Swearing: In "official subs vs fansubs", the fansubs have gratuitous swearing to mock how anime fansubs tend to be more profane than official subs, often to make the shows seem more "mature" and "edgier" than they actually are, in addition to leaving certain perfectly translatable terms untranslated.
• Obvious Judas: invoked Lysanderoth from "when you start a new game and you meet the character you know is going to betray you", which is a jab at characters such as Lysandre, even being named partially after him (and Sephiroth).
  Lysanderoth: This world is imperfect. If only I could wipe away the impurities, and make it as beautiful as me!

• Old School Introductory Rap: In "a villain is really excited to show the hero a rap he wrote", King Dragon's Boastful Rap begins with "Yo, I'm King Dragon, I'm the king of the lair / And now that you're in here, you aren't going anywhere". The hero finds the rap annoying more than anything.
• One True Threesome: invoked His suggestion for resolving "anime love triangles."
  "And so, anime was solved forever!"
• Only Sane Man: Several skits have exactly one character reacting like a normal human being would, usually with quiet exasperation or apathy.
• Orgasmic Combat: Spoofed in "when a game's audio is more suggestive than you realize", which features various voice clips that sound suggestive out of context, including groans from when a character takes damage.
• Overly Long Gag: "open world games" mostly consists of SungWon slowly walking around the in-game area, with multiple time skips to show his progress.
• Overly Long Name: "when card names get ridiculous" gets really excessive with the card names, to the point that one card's name is a whole speech and needs to be written on two separate cards. SungWon even cracks up in the middle of reading it out.
• Overshadowed by Awesome: Gunther is a very relevant character in The King Dragon Canon but he's constantly overshadowed or overlooked by more awesome characters
• Phrase Catcher: Dennis is told many times of how “[he]’ll never save Prince Horace”.
• Play the Game, Skip the Story: invoked "when you skip all the cutscenes to get to the gameplay" has him ignoring everything in the story about why everyone's doing everything and just wants to play actual Shadowverse matches.
• Pokémon Speak: In defective weaponry
• Poor, Predictable Rock: Mocked in "choosing classes for your party", in which Braddicus and Chaddicus refuse to diversify their party and just max it out with the same classes each time, allowing them to quickly be countered.
• Precision F-Strike: Done in "having a non-white name" when SungWon gets fed up with a guy who keeps mispronouncing his name despite being corrected so many times.
  Guy: [long pause] Do you have an English name?
  SungWon: BITCH!
• Pronouncing My Name for You: The sketch "having a non-white name" consists of SungWon repeatedly explaining how to pronounce his own name to a man who refuses to listen.
• Punny Name: Naturally comes up in his "Ace Attorney Breakdowns" video, where the witness, an Italian chef, is called "Mac Aroni".
• Rainbow Pimp Gear: Point out when it's suspected how people would actually react to a weirdly-dressed PC.
  King Dragon: So you finally... arrived- What the hell are you wearing?
  Dennis: It's my ass-kicking outfit, bitch!
• Really 700 Years Old: Mocked in "Trying to Guess Anime Characters' age". The "widdle baby girl" is a thousand years old, which instantly had him nope out.
• Record Needle Scratch: "I now pronounce you man and- anime body pillow!?"
• Required Secondary Powers: In "A man who can talk to objects, but they speak a language he doesn't know", the implication is that the title character asked a Literal Genie for the power to "talk to objects" without explicitly including that this would involve comprehending them. He is understandably vexed.
• Rescued from the Scrappy Heap: In-universe in "trying to convince your friend a character gets better later". Benji-kun starts off as a Dirty Coward who continuously soils himself in fright, and evolves into a confident character who sticks by his friends. The new viewer is annoyed by the early Benji-kun and declares that he "fuckin' sucks", while the one who has already seen the show insists that he gets better.
  "He's pretty bad right now, but he gets way better."

Running Gag:

• In scenes involving phone calls or where SungWon uses a phone, he uses a PSP as a prop.
• In his "behind the scenes" skits involving attempts at clickbait or attracting an audience, at some point, one of the executives or performers will yell out that they have to "tickle their balls a little!"
• Outside of his YouTube channel, it's become a recurring gag that SungWon is the go-to voice for talking cat characters. Including Cat Viper, Hyodo, Master Lord Majesty, and Mordecai Heller. Fans have started a campaign to make him the next voice of Garfield.
• His card game parody skits always involve a cow-themed deck.

• Saw Star Wars 27 Times: He claims he has every scene from Disney’s Peter Pan memorized. In a video, he recited a five minute long scene from the movie with uncanny accuracy.
• Saying Sound Effects Out Loud: The sword and pistol in defective weaponry.
• Schizo Tech: The King Dragon setting is a parody of medieval fantasy RPG cliches with swords and magic, yet a few characters like Lysanderoth have guns.
• Serious Business:
  • One of the players of the cow-themed card game tends to plan extremely intricate and convoluted turns involving multiple card switches and bonuses, much to the frustration of his less-strategically minded opponent.
  • Invoked in "anime time skips and spinoffs" when Tomoko-Chan observes that this is the reason that her outfit is now black.
• Sex Is Violence: In "priorities in yu-gi-oh", Yugi apparently gets off to dangerous situations.
• Sheltered Aristocrat: In "What rich people are like probably", a very rich person has no idea what coins are and assumes poor people eat them. In its sequel, "What rich people are like probably pt. 2, he sees a hot dog for the first time and assumes it's actually made of dog meat.
• Shout-Out Theme Naming: Parodied here.
  Dad: You were named after two of the bravest men I ever knew, Goku Naruto.
  Goku Naruto: That's stupid.
  Dad: No, it's not!.
  Goku Naruto: Goku can eat my shorts!
  Dad: GOKU WAS A SUPER SAIYAN!!
• Skewed Priorities: Yugi willing to risk his soul for "a card he can buy on Amazon for fifty cents".^note The card is the original Secret Rare print of Jinzo, a card so iconic and powerful in its heyday that it tends to be sold for over $50. Goes without saying that it's still not worth offering one's soul as an ante. Turns out he gets off on the danger, which even creeps out the villain.
• Smash Cut: From "anime timeskips and spinoffs:
  Tomoko-chan: But one thing we all know is that we will always be friends forever, and nothing will ever change tha-
  Everything's changed.
• So Long, and Thanks for All the Gear: Parodied in "when your party member dies permanently", where Dennis laments Archibald's death because he spent so much on his gear.
  Dennis: I dodged a thousand lightning bolts for your final weapon!
  Archibald: [weakly] Are you fucking serious right now?
• Something Something Leonard Bernstein: "when you know only the random English parts in a non-English song pt. 2"
• Spice Up the Subtitles: Parodied in "official subs vs fansubs", in which the hypothetical fansubber throws a bunch of swear words in just to make the dialogue sound more "mature".
• Spin-Offspring/Time Skip: "anime timeskips and spinoffs" has this parodied with Chairem Anime, showing it happen with the timeskip to Chairem Anime: Sofaden. The next one after that suddenly has Tomoko with an Eyepatch of Power and her daughter Bomoko, then another timeskip and Grandma Tomoko's about to introduce her granddaughter Gromoko.
• Sprint Meter: One of the things poked fun at in "open world games", where it drains incredibly quickly, leading to him getting winded in less than three seconds.
• Stylistic Suck: There's no attempt to disguise that his skits are all blatantly filmed in his house with a selfie-angle camera, whatever props he can find and/or make out of random crap, and him playing every character distinguished with one or two accessories. The intentionally shoddy production is a humorous contrast to the writing, comedic timing, and acting (voice or otherwise) that are decidedly not shoddy.
• Sure, Let's Go with That: Invoked in "Decidueye", with two devs discussing Rowlet's final evolution name, with one thinking of basing it on the word "Deciduous", and the other quickly thinking of a portmanteau, and seemingly thinks of the first word that came into their head which makes the unchallenged name of "Decidueye" (which SungWon clearly thinks is a bit stupid).
• Take a Third Option: In "anime love triangles", Tomoko's reaction to a Love Triangle between her and two other guys is to suggest they all fuck each other. The other guys agree, and the narrator exclaims anime was "solved forever".
• Take That!:
  • "5 HUMILIATING mistakes in Disney's Zootopia" parodies CinemaSins-style "nitpick" videos; two of the titular mistakes are simply the fact that animals can't talk in real life, one is the fact that rabbits can't be police officers in real life (and also that they can't talk), one is an actual goof about the main character turning a page in her file that seems to disappear (which is then blown out of proportion by the narrator), and the final one is cut off when the sexy tiger dancers at the end seem to provoke a homosexual furry awakening in the narrator.
  • In "twitter circles" he portrays Twitter users as people with big egos and stuttery meek voices. He double downs on this by portraying one reacting to the skit.
• Take That, Audience!: Earlier skits would have him use a PSP in lieu of a phone, something which people in the comments would constantly point out. In Nothing gets past those brilliant internet commenters, he portrays the audience that does this as unnecessarily angry and gives them a whiny voice.
• Talking Is a Free Action: Averted. King Dragon's rap in "a villain is really excited to show the hero a rap he wrote" and his Villain Song in "Maybe a villain song wasn't the best idea" don't keep Dennis from doing anything while King Dragon is singing. In fact, Dennis takes advantage of this by stabbing King Dragon during the Villain Song.
• There's No Kill like Overkill: In this sponsored comedy skit for Shadowverse, one of the guys he plays as performs an extremely long and specific combination of cards despite his opponent only having 1 HP left. His cards end up having dozens of attack points before he finally decides to end his opponent.
• Thinly-Veiled Dub Country Change: Food in Bad Anime Dubs is him poking fun of the dubbers calling food what it blatantly isn't.
• This Is for Emphasis, Bitch!: Concludes Naruto's thoughts to Sasuke in "official subs vs fansubs" in the "fansub"; that is, "you fucking bitch!"
• Too Awesome to Use: Parodied, with a fighter and mage arguing over a pretty basic item and circumstance:
  Mage: I'm out of MP.
  Fighter: Then use an Ether!
  Mage: But- but you can't buy Ethers.
  Fighter: It's the final battle!
  Mage: But I only have 85 of them.
• Too Long; Didn't Dub: The fansub version of "official subs vs fansubs" has the personal pronoun "ore" untranslated for no real reason. It also retains "nakama" with a screen-filling Translator's Note explaining what it is and why they didn't just translate it, the joke being that the word does have an equivalent ("closest friend") stated right in the note, but which the fansubber didn't bother officially using for some reason.
• Top Ten List: SungWon has two videos that has the Viewers' Top 10 Favorite Skits and another of his mom's Top 10 Favorite Skits.
• Troperiffic: Much of the humor of his skits comes from Parodying, Lampshading, or sometimes even Deconstructing the tropes of Anime, Video Games, and genre fiction in general.
• Troubling Unchildlike Behavior: One video has him eventually noticing that the enthusiastic victory quotes from Fire Emblem: Three Houses characters basically amount to teenage soldiers loving murder.
• Unexpected Gameplay Change: Parodied in "Game that think more gameplay mechanics equals more fun" when SungWon's FPS experience is derailed by a series of elaborate and ridiculous egg-related minigames and side quests.
  Eggman: Can you deliver sixty eggs?
  SungWon: I... I don't want to.
  Eggman: Too bad! It's MANDATORY, and if you're outta time, you have to start over!
• Unfortunate Names: Aighe'luvsekks^note Pronounced "I love sex!" the ice dragon from "when a game's audio is more suggestive than you realize."
• Unprovoked Pervert Payback: In "when an anime is clearly padding for filler time," one of the techniques to drag on the episode is to have Tomoko slap Sosuke Bosuke for supposedly looking up her skirt even though he clearly didn't.
• Unusual Pop Culture Name: In the parody vine of the "Albus Severus Potter" scene, he names his son Goku Naruto, and said son thinks it's stupid.
  Goku Naruto: Goku can eat my shorts!
  Dad: GOKU WAS A SUPER SAIYAN!
• Villainous Breakdown: His skit ace attorney breakdowns parodies the trope witnessed in the Ace Attorney series. Edgeworth asks the witness, Mac Aroni, not to freak out or reveal themselves too much on the stand if the defense finds a contradiction in their testimony in order to prevent them from doing this. The moment that Aroni gives himself away by stating that he never saw the victim or her red handkerchief, Phoenix objects, which is enough to cause Aroni to admit his guilt, bashing two boxes of macaroni against his head before falling to the ground.
  Mac Aroni: Mama-mia, I'mma guilty! (while bashing boxes against his head) GUILTY, GUILTY, GUILTY! OHohooo...
  Phoenix: (smugly) Looks like we have our murderer-
  Edgeworth: Yeah, no shit!
• Villain Song: The focus of one skit. The hero stabs the villain in the middle of it.
• Vocal Dissonance:
  • The mob boss in "a mob boss with the least intimidating voice".
  • He plays off some Self-Deprecation humor in your voice doesn't match your face, apparently due to many seeing this trope between his deep baritone voice and round child-like face.
  • Lampshaded in audition sides i get sent for my voice vs my face; the voice audition is an epic evil speech, while the face audition is a nerd playing too many computer games.
• Voice Grunting: "games where only the cutscenes have full voice acting" has this happen in the last 4 seconds once the cutscene ends.
• Wearing a Flag on Your Head: Labor Day Archibald.
  "Hyaa! I think that workers have contributed to... our country!"
• Welcome to Corneria: Upon victory, Archibald exclaims "Hyah, I think that enemy got... the point!" The player finds the line funny at first, but he repeats it after every fight, so it soon becomes annoying.
• Wham Line: Parodied. "My real name is... Lygon" is apparently a big reveal. However, because we have zero context due to Dennis skipping all the cutscenes, the effect is...kind of lost.
• Wildlife Commentary Spoof: Talks about his cat in one video. It goes off the rails pretty quick when he starts gushing about cats.
• Word Salad Title: Every arc in the anime discussed in "anime story arc titles" has this, from "Jumprope Canyon" to "Spade Is Invulnerable". Special mention goes to the arc in which Vegetalo comes Back from the Dead, which sounds like a DS game but is actually spelt "Ho! Tell d.u.S.K."
• Xenafication: Parodied in anime timeskips and spinoffs, thanks to Chairem Anime getting a wild Genre Shift in its Sequel Series Chairem Anime:Sofaden. Chairem Tomoko is a cut, silly reverse harem protagonist, while Sofaden Tomako is a gun-wielding legendary warrior with a black outfit.
• You No Take Candle: In "getting into a conversation in a language you don't actually speak that well," SungWon's Korean besides greetings and trying to explain he doesn't speak it very well is... lacking. The fluent speaker doesn't seem to notice him struggling.
  Fluent speaker: [in Korean] It's such great weather out today! It's perfect weather for going outside!
  SungWon: Uh... [in Korean] weather... good... [in English] Just-just shoot me in the face.
• Younger Than They Look: “trying to guess anime characters' ages” has this played for laughs, with the first being Azalea Evergreen who killed thousands of soldiers in a civil war and now works in a post office... and she's fourteen. Next is Sosuke Bosuke, who was a piano prodigy who left the competition due to psychological trauma... and he's eight! The last one inverts it when she says she's a little baby girl who's a thousand, making SungWon turn the TV off.
