WMG / Bunsen Is a Beast

Go To

Amanda has feelings for Mikey
The main reason why she hates Bunsen is because she's jealous that he gets to spend time with Mikey
  • Somewhat implied when she says that Mikey would look good in gym shorts.

The reason Amanda hates Bunsen and his kind...
Is because she was traumatized at a young age by a beast.

Bunsen was originally a student from Casper's Scare School
Because where else could he have come from?

There Will Eventually be A Crossover with Danny Phantom and TUFF Puppy

The show takes place before the events of Undertale
Remember what the goofy teacher chick said in the first episode about how if Bunsen fails, monsters and humans will have to fight over dominance of the world? exactly! except in Undertale, the humans won.....sheesh...

Bunsen's kind are a result of magic
With the fairy odd parent crossover I would not be surprised to find out that a god kid had his fairies create Bunsen's race.

During the The Fairly OddParents! crossover, Amanda will have an unhealthy Precocious Crush on Mr. Crocker

Bunsen is a Beast will be Screwed by the Network
I think it will due to the following reasons:
  • It doesn't air reruns in the middle of the Nick Jr. block and Kid Com block like SpongeBob and The Loud House do, and they're really popular cartoons
  • It is now airing new episodes on Saturday mornings.
  • It's not as popular as say, The Fairly OddParents!
  • Confirmed. The series was moved to Nicktoons in December and then cancelled after its single season.

Bunsen is a Beast will be a Creator Killer for Butch Hartman
Here is some reasons to why I think so:
  • It has not been getting ratings and no reruns compared to the recent episodes of Spongebob Squarepants and The Loud House, so that means Nickelodeon is not paying as much attention as those two.
  • It's not getting as much praise as the mentioned Nicktoons and Butch Hartman's earlier work similar to T.U.F.F Puppy.
  • Given the success of The Loud House, Chris Savino might take Butch Hartman's place in creating many Nicktoons for Nickelodeon similar to how Hartman took that position from Klasky-Csupo in the 2000's.
  • The Fairly Oddparents being moved to Nicktoons from Nickelodeon and probably becoming cancelled certainly doesn't help which may cause Butch Hartman to end his career with Nickelodeon, unless he gets to return to working on Danny Phantom like he wants too.

Darcy will imply to have feelings for Bunsen
Because her having feelings for Mikey would be too cliche

Sophie Sanders is half Beast
She has serrated teeth and her hair seems kind of weird

This show takes place in the same universe as Wayside
This show's art style looks very similar to that of Wayside.

Amazing Eric has a fairy god parent.
Since he seems capable of actual magic, complete with sparkles. The fairy is disguised as his hat, and helped Bunsen win the spelling bee because it figured out that Amanda was cheating and wanted to level the playing field. After all, Da Rules only say you can't help your god kid win a competition, but there's nothing about helping a god kid's friend.

Bunsen is going to be canned after one season
Bunsen hasn't received unanimous praise like The Loud House did. In fact, a good chunk of the internet hates it. A college student wrote a rant on it and it's ratings aren't as good as SpongeBob and Loud House. The show's reruns are also only on Nicktoons. Nickelodeon tried various marketing strategies to boost the show's popularity, such as pairing with The Loud House for a week in April, airing a sneak peek of it in January, creating a promotional short that features all of Butch Hartman's shows, making a crossover with The Fairly Oddparents, and grouping it with the network's 3 biggest animated hits: SpongeBob, Alvinnn!, and Loud House on Saturday mornings in June, but they didn't work too well. It has yet to be renewed for a season 2, while Loud House got renewed for season 2 right off the bat. I predict that Bunsen will be shafted to Nicktoons and will be canned.
  • Confirmed.

The show's introduction sequence is deliberately derivative of the intro to Spongebob Squarepants
When speaking about his experiences working at Nickelodeon, Butch Hartman has talked about Spongebob in such a way that sounds like he's got an inferiority complex over it. It's not crazy to think Bunsen was designed as an attempt to match its appeal, maybe even unintentionally. This is supported by both intros sharing the following similarities:
  • The singer alternates between a silly/exaggerated adult voice and many children's voices that sing in unison.
    • Said child voices mostly say the main character's name and nothing else.
  • The show's title is a very simple description of the main character, next to a name.
  • The second shot is a dramatic camera maneuver towards the main character's house, followed by his front door.
  • The main character's name is repeated over and over, sandwiched in-between rhyming verses that describe what he's like in whimsical ways.
    • Each time it's repeated, the title appears on screen in colorful letters.
  • The final verse is the main character's name repeated multiple times in a row.
