"Ahh fine. But don't expect nothin' fancy, okay?"

Vulture Culture is a Friday Night Funkin' Game Mod created by leestei.

The Boyfriend and the Girlfriend enter a seedy bar in the bad side of town, where one particular patron catches their attention: Avenue, a debt collecting vulture. Challenging him to a rap battle, Avenue reluctantly agrees, but advises them to not expect much from him, having not sung in years.

The mod is notable for deviating from the usual FNF mod in a number of ways, toning down the difficulty in favor of focusing on the story surrounding Avenue and his history with Daddy Dearest.

Song List:

Tropes:

  • Affably Evil: Avenue, despite being a debt collector, is a rather pleasant fellow.
  • Bait-and-Switch: The Boyfriend and the Girlfriend are Caught in the Bad Part of Town where they encounter a very sinister looking vulture armed with a bat, leading one to believe that this will be another mod where the opponent is out to kill them both. Nope, Avenue is one of the friendliest opponents encountered.
  • Batter Up!: Avenue is seen holding a bat, though he never actually uses it for anything. By his admission, it's mostly for intimidating his marks.
"...And it counts as a business expense on my taxes."
  • Bird People: Avenue is described as a "hybird ave", being a mashup of a vulture, a seagull and a steller's sea eagle.
  • Caught in the Bad Part of Town: Referenced by both the mod description and Avenue himself.
  • Connected All Along: Avenue is an old bandmate of Daddy Dearest's from before the latter retired.
  • Contrasting Sequel Antagonist: Avenue differs from previous mod opponents in a number of ways:
    • His songs are relatively easy and never come close to how Nintendo Hard other mods do.
    • He never flips out or becomes agitated when the Boyfriend wins, and in fact he becomes friendlier as the songs go on.
    • He's a former musician who has a past with Daddy Dearest, but instead of harboring a murderous hatred for him and/or his family, he speaks fondly of his time with him.
  • Face of a Thug: Despite his expression making him look absolutely Ax-Crazy, Avenue is nothing but polite and civil with the duo throughout.
  • Frozen Face: Avenue never seems to change much from that Slasher Smile of his, Nice Guy or not.
  • Glory Days: Avenue used to be a rock star alongside Daddy Dearest. While those days are long behind him and he's now reduced to working as a shady debt collector, he doesn't seem too dejected by the direction his older years have gone in.
  • Nice Guy: Similar to Hex and Garcello, Avenue isn't remotely antagonistic towards the Boyfriend or the Girlfriend, and indulges them in their hobby with gradually less reluctance.
  • Pet the Dog: This mod retroactively makes Dad Battle from the original game one for Daddy Dearest; He used a scrapped song from his old rock band as the basis for one of his raps against the Boyfriend.
  • Retired Badass: A former rockstar turned debt collector, in this case. This is something he shares with his bandmate Daddy Dearest.
  • Riddle for the Ages: What happened to Avenue to reduce him to working as a debt collector after Daddy Dearest retired from music?
  • Shared Family Quirks: According to Avenue, Daddy Dearest brought giant speakers around everywhere he went just like the Girlfriend does.
  • Shout-Out: In the pre-Payment Cutscene, Avenue states that he recognizes them from the news due to what happened in Nevada, likely the events of The Tricky Mod.
  • Slasher Smile: His near-permanent smile combined with Toothy Bird very much looks like this trope, but he's a Nice Guy.
  • Toothy Bird: A particularly terrifying-looking example, really selling the Ax-Crazy expression.
  • Vile Vulture: Subverted. Avenue is a very menacing looking debt collector of a vulture, but is quite amicable to the couple.
  • Wham Line: Prior to Overdue, Avenue reveals that he used to make music with Daddy Dearest, presumably as a member of his rock band before he retired, and the final song has him sing a tune they composed, but never released since they felt it didn't match the overall style of the rest of their music. Then about halfway in, he sings a few notes of Dad Battle, indicating that Daddy Dearest didn't forget about that scrapped song either.
  • What Could Have Been: In-Universe. Avenue and Daddy Dearest scrapped a song they wrote since they thought it went against their usual style. Avenue sings it as the final song of the mod. It seems the unused song was reused into Dad Battle from the main game.
