Tropes present in this fanfic include:

  • Accidental Misnaming: Gwen accidentally calls the Kanker Sisters the "Cancer Sisters" when ranting about her frustrations with Cody referring to them molesting the Eds instead of realizing how he acted towards her in Season 1.
  • Adaptational Context Change: Someone still performs a Rage Quit by doing a Rapid-Fire "No!" and telling Chris to "eat it", and then returns to the competition later. But instead of it being Duncan in the first challenge due to refusing to sing a reprise and then being brought back in London, it is Gwen in Australia, due to having had enough of being antagonized and betrayed in the competition, and refusing to perform a tiebreaker with Courtney, and later winning the second-chance challenge on the third Aftermath.
  • Adaptation Name Change: Team Chris is Really Really Really Really Hot is renamed to Team Minotaur here.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul:
    • While in canon Bridgette and Geoff were shown to make up after their fight in the first Aftermath, here they end up breaking up and remain that way.
    • Cody and Duncan are shown to get along better than the canon season 3, with Duncan even giving Cody advice in France on how to deal with Sierra's excessive stalking. When it is revealed to everyone how Duncan and Gwen kissed, Cody is disappointed, but not angry at Duncan like he was in canon, and doesn't knock him out over it. Their friendship is strained though when Duncan blames Cody for Gwen's elimination. Fortunately it is fixed when Gwen returns to the game, and convinces Duncan to forgive Cody and work with him again.
  • Adaptational Badass: Team Victory is shown as more successful here, winning more elimination challenges than canon and outlasting some players from the other two teams. While they still dissolve in London (albeit due to being reduced to two players rather than losing all their members) and none of them merge, it's still a step up from canon where everyone from the team was eliminated before the second Aftermath.
  • Adaptational Villainy: Sierra is portrayed much more antagonistic due to her Stalker with a Crush attitude towards Cody, with her outright being called a rapist and her obsession with Cody bordering on Entitled to Have You. She is also much more vocal over her dislike towards Gwen, to the point she steals her diary and writes a childish insulting entry about Gwen in it, even saying she wants Gwen to commit suicide, complete with picture.
  • Adaptational Wimp: Team Amazon isn't nearly as successful here as they were in canon, being reduced to just their canon members by the second Aftermath.
  • Adapted Out: The singing parts of World Tour are completely removed.
  • Ascended Extra:
    • The contestants who did not compete in canon season 3 get this due to all of them competing with Eva and Trent being the most notable examples as they both manage to reach the merge.
    • Although Duncan is a part of the Spotlight-Stealing Squad, he also counts as this since he doesn't quit at the beginning of the season and ends up competing in more episodes in season 3 as a result.
    • Ezekiel, DJ, Lindsay, and Noah also last longer than in canon, with Noah being the only one to make the merge.
    • This also applies to Gwen, since she is chosen to return at the start of the merge after her original elimination.
  • Armor-Piercing Question: During their fight in "The Ex-Files", when DJ is calling Duncan out for cheating on Courtney (or so he believes) and claims that even if he didn't cheat, putting moves on someone right after breaking up with someone else isn't right, Duncan asks if that's why he voted for Beth in the finale of Action, since she also cheated on her boyfriend (with proof no less). This actually staggers DJ, leading to a Lame Comeback.
  • Bait-and-Switch:
    • During the third aftermath, after Josh and Blaineley show Owen a video of just how much Alejandro hates him and got Izzy to dump him, it seems like it's building up to Owen having a freak out like Lindsay did at Heather during Island. Instead, Owen actually thanks him, because he had actually been wanting to break up with Izzy for a while, but never got the nerve to do so, so Alejandro basically did the dirty work for him.
    • After Cody purposefully throws the challenge during "Niagara Brawls" in order to spite her, Sierra despairs over the clear hint that Cody doesn't love her (and that she can't trick him into marriage) and Trent tells her that she should consider letting him go and respecting his wishes. Sierra appears to take this to heart, only to call Trent crazy in the confessional, showing that she learned nothing.
    • "Chinese Fake Out" has things play out mostly the same as in canon, complete with Sierra getting a Love Potion to use on Cody, making it seem like she's still going to poison him. Instead, it turns out she cheated in the final challenge, resulting in Eva winning immunity and Cody taking the chance to finally get rid of Sierra.
  • Blind Obedience: Noah remarks in a confessional how Lindsay had this for Heather in Total Drama Island, which led to her assisting her reign of terror for most of the season and is why Noah, unlike most people, felt No Sympathy towards Lindsay for her elimination. He later recognizes that Tyler has the same thing for Alejandro this season, so Tyler's elimination in Greece serves as a major blow against Alejandro. Tyler actually has it so bad that even after his elimination he refuses to see Alejandro as anything except his best friend.
  • Both Sides Have a Point: During the third Aftermath, Owen admits that Alejandro did have the right to be upset with him pretending he didn't know his name and calling him Al just to mess with him. However, Owen also points out that rather than just passive aggressively hinting he didn't like the name and violently attacking Owen whenever he got the chance, Alejandro could have just told him he didn't like the nickname.
  • Brainy Brunette: After becoming smart and to hide out while in Paris, Lindsay ends up dying her hair brown, which ends up symbolizing that she's a Dumbass No More.
  • Bullying a Dragon: As opposed to tackling and punching Heather several times during the final part of the German Alps challenge, Leshawna ends up doing this to Eva. It goes as well as you’d expect.
  • Call-Forward: Justin stops DJ from getting a curse in Egypt, explaining that as a Hawaiian he knows all about curses. This refers to how in Total Drama Presents: The Ridonculous Race, it is revealed that taking a Hawaiian lava rock from Hawaii results in a curse on whoever took them.
  • Cassandra Truth: No matter how much Duncan and Gwen protest otherwise that Duncan and Courtney had broken up before he made moves on the latter, almost everyone still believes that they cheated on Courtney.
  • Comically Missing the Point: When Cody gets annoyed about how Sierra has been sexually harassing him, Gwen tries to see if he realizes how similar it is back when he constantly hit on her back during Island. Instead, all it reminds Cody of is the Eds from Ed, Edd n Eddy and how they were constantly sexually harassed by the Kanker Sisters, with him saying he finally understands why they hated it so much.
  • Continuity Nod: Lindsay ends up having to dye her hair and disguise herself while in Paris due to being banned from the city as a result of the incident that got her and Beth arrested as mentioned in the Celebrity Manhunt special post-Action.
  • Country Matters: When Courtney brings up how she was a CIT for the umpteenth time in Newfoundland, Heather says she's "more like a C-U-(BLEEP)-T", with many contestants gasping at Heather.
  • Cutting Off the Branches: In this timeline, Owen and Beth are established as the winners of Island and Action, as opposed to them being Gwen and Duncan in Green's other fanfic Total Drama Pahkitew Island Reordered.
  • Death as Comedy: Ruby the camel is devoured by crocs in the Egypt challenge, with her death just being brushed off by Chris due to it causing Team Amazon to lose and go to elimination.
  • Death by Adaptation: Ruby the camel ends up being eaten by crocodiles at the end of the Egypt challenge in this adaptation.
  • Demoted to Extra:
    • Here, Blaineley and Josh are hosts of the Aftermaths due to Bridgette and Geoff competing in season 3 from day one, so Bridgette and Geoff aren't as prominent in them as canon.
    • Owen, Tyler, and Sierra are also booted earlier than canon.
  • Diabolus ex Machina: Lindsay's elimination reeks of this. Namely, due to her becoming smarter, she manages to put the clues together to realize Alejandro isn't who he seems to be and is set to expose him. During the challenge, however, she stupidly starts sticking the crayon back up her nose, leading to it getting stuck back up there when she's hit with a stray cannonball. Naturally, this ensures she's booted before she can reveal anything, ensuring that Alejandro continues to go undetected.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Chris didn't bother to make extra outfits for the wedding challenge in case one of his predicted contestants didn't make the merge, which ends up forcing Eva and Noah to swap outfits as the ones they got were sized for Lindsay and DJ respectively.
  • Do Wrong, Right: Heather slaps Courtney not because the latter lied to her, but because it was such an obvious lie that Heather thought it was an insult to her intelligence.
  • Dumbass No More: Lindsay ends up sneezing out a crayon at the Alps. She explains in a confessional that when she was six years old she stuffed a pack of crayons up her nose after being dared by her sister. She thought she sneezed them all out afterwards, but realizes that one stayed put and ended up penetrating her brain and affecting her memory, logic, and reasoning. After this, she starts remembering everyone's names and becoming more useful in challenges, effectively losing her Dumb Blonde status.
  • Et Tu, Brute?: When everyone laughs at Noah's mocking imitation of Sierra, Sierra bitterly says "Et tu, Cody?" when he laughs too.
  • Expository Hairstyle Change: Lindsay ends up dying her hair brown and, while it mainly serves the purpose of hiding who she is while in Paris, it also symbolizes her turning out to be much smarter without the crayon in her brain.
  • Flipping the Bird:
    • Alejandro does this to Owen with both hands after the latter is eliminated.
    • Gwen does this to Courtney while telling her to "suck it" after the former quits the competition and makes out with Duncan, Coutney's ex-boyfriend, in front of her one last time.
    • Heather does this to everyone for cheering when Duncan knocks her off oh her platform in Germany.
  • Five Stages of Grief: Trent directly refers to this and how Courtney seems to be going through them to cope with her breakup with Duncan.
  • Fix Fic: This story serves as this to Total Drama World Tour.
  • Foreshadowing:
    • Duncan is strangely bitter towards DJ for most of the season, in spite of them being friends. In "I See London...", the reason is revealed-DJ was the tie breaking vote that resulting in Beth winning Total Drama Action instead of Duncan, meaning that DJ cost someone who was supposedly his friend a million dollars.
    • Another Duncan moment happens during the Alps challenge, where Izzy attempts to pull a Groin Attack on him in order to escape, only to notice he wasn't reacting whatsoever. It's revealed a few episodes later he's been wearing a jock strap all season to keep safe from Courtney.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Ezekiel is this to the rest of Team Victory, as he'd always on the chopping block whenever they lost up until his elimination in Paris.
  • Frustrating Lie: At one point, Heather slaps Courtney for lying to her, although not because Courtney lied. Rather, Heather found the lie to be so blatant that she thought Courtney was insulting her intelligence by telling it to her.
  • Given Name Reveal: Sierra reveals the full names of all 22 of the original contestants in the first chapter.
  • The Grinch: Heather mentions off-handedly how she hates Christmas and that all she has gotten for the last five years is coal.
Lindsay: That's 'cause Santa knows you've been a naughty girl, Heather!
    Heather: Santa doesn't know shit!
  • Hidden Depths: Eva, in spite of her serious nature and Hair-Trigger Temper, actually has quite the playful side to her.
  • Hypocrite: When DJ states his disappointment in Duncan for seemingly cheating on Courtney with Gwen, stating Duncan should learn about loyalty, Duncan goes off on DJ for his hypocrisy, reminding him of how despite them being friends DJ voted for Beth to win Action, and if DJ had stayed loyal Duncan would be a millionaire by now. He also points out how DJ gives him grief for falsely thinking he cheated on his girlfriend and doesn't do the same to Beth when she actually cheated on her boyfriend, and points out how despite his mama teaching him to be such a softie she is "as gentle as Eva" herself.
Duncan: I guess hypocrisy runs in the family!
  • Ignored Epiphany: After Cody throws the wedding challenge and then throws the ring back at her, followed by Trent giving her some advice, it seems like Sierra is going to let go of her feelings towards Cody, or at least realize why he doesn't love her back. Instead, she simply calls Trent crazy, showing that she learned nothing.
  • Ignored Expert: When Trent tries to give Sierra advice on Cody and why he is so popular, pointing out how he is mature and selfless and he helped him hookup with Gwen back in Season 1, and tries to say she should let Cody go if she loves him like he did with Gwen, Sierra simply says that Trent is crazier than ever.
  • In Spite of a Nail:
    • Harold, Bridgette, Leshawna, Izzy, and Gwen are still eliminated in the episodes they were in canon (albeit in Izzy's case, she's voted out here rather than having to leave due to injury, and in Gwen's she quits instead of losing a tiebreaker and later returns to the game.).
    • Even though Ezekiel isn't eliminated first, he still ends up stowing away on the plane after he's eliminated here. This time, however, he doesn't become feral and is kicked off for good after London.
    • Duncan and Gwen still share a kiss in the confessional in "I See London...", and Tyler witnesses it due to the lock on the door being broken. In the following chapter, Tyler still blurts out this secret to everyone, which causes Courtney to lash out at Gwen in anger, despite Duncan having already broken up with her.
    • Izzy still helps out Team Amazon by getting Ruby into their raft, even though Alejandro didn't order her to do so this time.
    • Duncan and Alejandro still end up talking like pirates during "Sweden Sour" even with Owen out of the game. Here, it's because Eva (the captain this time) thought it would be fun.
    • The remaining cast still end up hunting a feral former competitor in the challenge in Africa, only instead of Ezekiel it is Sierra. However, it is revealed afterwards that it wasn't the real Sierra, but a clone Chris made.
  • Irony: Beth goes from winning Action in this continuity to being the first contestant eliminated here.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Discussed during DJ's aftermath interview after he explains why he voted for Beth instead of Duncan at the end of Total Drama Action, where Josh and Blaineley imply that his money troubles may have been karma for not voting for his friend to win the million, as said friend may have been more willing to help DJ out if DJ had given him the money.
  • Late to the Realization: It isn't until she's eliminated that Izzy figures out that she got played by Alejandro to break up with Owen.
  • Manipulative Bastard: Alejandro is this just like in canon. Not only does he mastermind multiple eliminations, including several of the ones from canon, and seduce multiple female contestants without them ever suspecting him, he also has several other achievements. These include seducing Izzy to trick her into breaking up with Owen, snatches Gwen's diary from Sierra before forging his own fake entry for Cody to see so he will vote for Gwen at elimination, and then frames Sierra for writing the fake entry when Gwen states she never wrote it.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Cody has this reaction when he votes for Gwen at the elimination in Australia, due to reading her diary and seeing an entry that says she has no respect for him and is just using him, only to discover that this entry was a fake (made by Alejandro who frames Sierra for it). This results in Gwen quitting instead of competing in a tiebreaker with Courtney, and Cody runs back into the plane too ashamed of what he did to look at Gwen.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • Even though the team winds up going by Team Minotaur, Sierra still tries to suggest Team Chris Is Really, Really, Really, Really Hot as the team name.
    • In the third Aftermath, Ezekiel reveals he had a nightmare where he snuck back onto the plane in hopes of winning game, only to go insane because of it, which was his canon fate.
    • In the same chapter, when Owen is asked if there's anyone he truly despises, he reveals he does. That person being his cousin, whom he describes as a "megalomaniac who wants to take over the world" and even dreads to reveal his name. Anyone who's seen the Total DramaRama episode Dissing Cousins, would know that he's referring to future Pahkitew Island contestant Max.
    • Many of the full names of the contestants include either the first and/or last names of their voice actors, as revealed by Sierra. Some examples include Trenton Scott Denver, Courtney Emily Barlow, and Noah Frederick Carter just to name a few.
    • Gwen being the aftermath returnee alludes to the fact that Duncan and Cody assumed that it would be her in canon before Chris revealed it to be Blaineley.
    • Duncan regretfully saying how he should have used himself as bait to catch the feral Sierra after Gwen gets hurt during the Africa challenge alludes to how he was unknowingly used as bait in that challenge by Alejandro and Heather to catch Ezekiel.
  • Non-Gameplay Elimination:
    • Justin gets injured diving off the cliff in Jamaica, and he's medically evacuated from the competition.
    • Gwen decides to quit the competition instead of competing in a tiebreaker with Courtney after being backstabbed one too many times.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: This is zigzagged with Eva. When it seems like Team Minotaur is going to lose the challenge in Sweden, the guys are all in agreement that they should vote off Alejandro for costing them the challenge, with him having apparently no way out. But Eva manages to make a last second play that wins them the challenge by firing herself to sink Team Amazon's ship. Though this does win her team the challenge, it also secures Alejandro's safety going into the merge.
Alejandro: Like I've said before, Eva is a gift from the gods!
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: Eva gives two of these during the challenge in the Alps. First she gives one to Owen by beating him with a shovel while calling him several names when angered over him eating the sausage they needed for the challenge. Then she gives one to Leshawna during the German dance part of the challenge, after being angered by her attacking her and making her spit out a tooth, she proceeds to break Leshawna's back. Eva actually needs to restrain herself from doing this in the future after the medical evacuation rule is added, with the warning that from now on anyone who purposely causes severe injuries to others will be disqualified.
  • No Sympathy: Noah specifically says that unlike many people, he felt no sympathy towards Lindsay for her elimination in Island or thought it was "unfair", due to Lindsay having Blind Obedience towards Heather for most of the season and assisting in her reign of terror without realizing she wasn't a good person.
  • Not Me This Time: After the challenge in London, when the competitors that avoided being captured return to the plane they find the large TV screen destroyed. Chris explains they were using it to watch their progress until someone had a temper tantrum and destroyed it. Everyone looks at Eva, but she says it was already like that when she woke up. The one that actually did it was Alejandro, who flipped out when it was revealed Owen knew how to correctly pronounce his name the whole time and just called him "Al" to tease him.
  • Not So Above It All: Eva shows that underneath her anger management issues she does have a playful side to her. When she was elected the Team Minotaur captain of the challenge in Sweden, her first order is for everyone to talk like pirates, stating pirates are cooler than Vikings.
  • "Not So Different" Remark: Duncan remarks that he understands what it is like to be tormented by a girl and have no one take you seriously about it, which is why he is so supportive of Cody's problems with Sierra stalking him, and eventually helps him vote her out.
  • "Not So Different" Remark: The narration at Team Minotaur's first elimination states that Noah empathizes with Ezekiel in that he was also the first person voted out of his team during Island.
  • Obfuscating Stupidity: Upon her return to the game, Gwen is questioned by Noah if she knows about Alejandro, to which Gwen says she doesn't. It then cuts to a confessional, where Gwen reveals she does know about Alejandro's true colors, but since he was standing pretty much right next to them, she didn't want to say anything, lest she become a target.
  • Obvious Rule Patch: After Justin is medically evacuated, Chris announces that ever since Leshawna was injured earlier lawyers have been nagging him about contestant injuries, so he has implanted a new rule where injuries as severe as Leshawna's and Justin's result in medical evaluations. However, he also notes that anyone who deliberately causes these types of serious injuries will also be disqualified.
  • The One Guy/The Smurfette Principle: In addition to Cody retaining his status as the sole male member of Team Amazon from canon (after Duncan switches teams with Sierra), Eva becomes the sole female member of Team Minotaur following Izzy's elimination.
  • One-Woman Army: During the Area 51 challenge, Eva effortlessly defeats all the guards to the warehouse.
  • Pair the Dumb Ones: Deconstructed. After Lindsay becomes smarter, she comes to realize that, outside of both being attractive and (formerly) dumb, she and Tyler have pretty much nothing in common and it leads into their breakup.
  • Pet the Dog: After Lindsay's elimination, Chris tells for Chef to remove the crayon from her brain again, just to make sure she doesn't accidentally kill herself before she can get picked up. The narration even points out how this is unusually responsible for Chris.
  • Pyrrhic Victory:
    • This ultimately happens to Courtney in her obsession to eliminate Gwen. Though she is technically successful, she is upset because instead of her voting off Gwen or getting to "crush her" in a tiebreaker, Gwen simply quits the competition out of anger, robbing Courtney of the satisfaction. Gwen also makes out with Duncan one last time and flips off Courtney before departing with Courtney unable to retaliate, ultimately giving Gwen the last laugh. Then it ends up being undone entirely when Gwen returns to the game, with Courtney immediately being eliminated.
    • This is zig-zagged with Gwen and Duncan. After they reunite when Gwen returns in the merge, they finally get rid of Courtney in Niagara Falls after she had been targeting them both ever since Greece. But unfortunately due to a twist with the voting forcing the couples of the challenge to be grouped together during the votes, Trent ends up being eliminated alongside Courtney as collateral damage. Gwen gets her revenge on Courtney but her victory is soured by Trent's departure. Though while Duncan also feels it sucks Trent went down with Courtney, he ultimately feels it had to be done.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: At the beginning of "The Ex-Files", Duncan goes off on DJ for his hypocrisy relating how he reacts to different people doing different things, as well as not being as loyal as he would like to believe. DJ also tries to call Duncan out for a few different things, but it's clear Duncan has control over the fight.
DJ: I just can't believe Duncan! I know he and Courtney weren't getting along, but cheating on her? Way too far! Dude needs to learn a thing or two about loyalty.
Duncan: LOYALTY!? Are you seriously calling my loyalty into question, Devon!? Because that's pretty rich coming from you!
DJ: What are you talking about!?
Duncan: If you practiced what you're preaching, I'd be a millionaire right now!
DJ: What? What do you mean?
Duncan: Do I have to spell it out for you!? You voted for Beth to win Total Drama Action!
DJ: Hey! I'm not the only one!
Duncan: Yes, but I know you were one!
DJ: Well, that's nothin' compared to cheating!
Duncan: I didn't cheat! I broke up with her with her the other night!
    DJ: Yeah...sure...
Duncan: What, you don't believe me?
DJ: Courtney didn't seem to believe you. Why should I?
    Duncan: Dude! I am innocent!
DJ: You haven't been acting very innocent. You almost killed Tyler yesterday after he told everyone about you and Gwen.
Duncan: That had nothing to do with guilt or innocence! I strangled that big mouth because he just caused a shitload of trouble for me!
DJ: You caused yourself a shitload of trouble! And even if you are innocent, it is not cool to dump one girl and on move in the same night!
Duncan: Is that why you voted for Beth? If you recall, she had a boyfriend that she cheated on.
DJ: Yeah, well- I didn't know she was telling the truth! And besides, we need more gentle millionaires! And the way you treated Harold... Look, I understand why you were angry with him, but you just went too far! If I voted for you, my mama would not approve.
Duncan: You're such a Mama's Boy! And while we're on the subject, I find it quite ironic that she taught you to be such a softie when she's about as gentle as Eva! I guess hypocrisy runs in the family!
  • Ruder and Cruder: While the Total Drama cast have been known to occasionally swear, it is usually kept at a minimum and they rarely use the more profane curses. Here, the cast curses on a semi-regular basis, the F-word is regularly bleeped out, and Heather even drops a Country Matters on Courtney (which is also censored).
  • Sadistic Choice: Duncan is faced with one at the end of "Chinese Fake Out". Either he votes off Sierra, who he promised to vote out with Cody but leave Alejandro, who is a far more dangerous player, in the game, or he votes out Alejandro, which would remove a major threat from the game, but also make Cody and Gwen mad at him for not sticking with his promise. In the end, he chooses to get rid of Sierra.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: When Chris allows Sierra to swap to Team Amazon if one of the Amazons agrees to take her place, Duncan agrees and joins Team Minotaur, just so he can get away from the girls constantly arguing with each other.
  • Self-Serving Memory: During the tightrope challenge in Niagara Falls, Eva worries over getting eliminated after reaching the merge since that's what happened the last time she competed; Noah reminds her that she didn't make the merge, she was brought back to the game.
  • Shipper with an Agenda: Part of the reason Trent pushes Duncan to break up with Courtney is because he has a crush on her.
  • Shipping Torpedo:
    • Blaineley and Josh turn Bridgette and Geoff against each other during the first aftermath, bringing up their past mistakes so they'll break up.
    • Alejandro successfully gets Izzy to dump Owen by flirting with Izzy, which leads to Owen becoming depressed and her elimination.
  • Ship Sinking:
    • Duncan/Courtney get this in France with Duncan losing interest in Courtney due to her mistreatment of him. This leads to Duncan officially breaking up with Courtney in London, but Courtney didn't think he was serious. It is officially sunk in the next episode when it is revealed that Duncan and Gwen kissed.
    • Izzy/Owen still break up in Jamaica, albeit due to Alejandro's manipulation of Izzy.
    • Bridgette/Geoff end up breaking up in the first Aftermath due to resentment over Geoff voting off Bridgette in season 1 (and subsequently lying about it) and Bridgette nearly cheating on Geoff with Alejandro in the Yukon.
    • Lindsay/Tyler break up a day before the third aftermath, with one of the main reasons being they had an argument the previous night where Tyler refused to acknowledge Alejandro as a bad guy.
  • Ship Tease: Heather/Alejandro, Gwen/Duncan, and Trent/Courtney get this. During the third aftermath, there are hints of this between DJ/Lindsay.
  • Shout-Out:
  • Shoot the Television: Or smash in this case. During the challenge in London, Owen reveals that he knows how to pronounce Alejandro's name correctly and just calls him "Al" to tease him, while also saying how he thinks Alejandro's name is silly. This enrages Alejandro so much, who was watching the challenge with the other eliminated competitors from the plane, that he smashes the TV screen in a rage.
  • Sole Survivor: As of “Picnic at Hanging Dork”, Lindsay is the final member of Team Victory still in the competition.
  • Sore Loser: Courtney has always been this like in canon, but upon being eliminated at Niagara Falls fair and square, with no vote tampering, tied votes, or rule-bending from Chris involved she still threatens to sue the show.
  • Stating the Simple Solution: Once he learns how much Alejandro hated his nickname Al, Owen instantly asked why Alejandro didn't just tell him he didn't like it instead of passive aggressively hinting at it or attacking Owen.
  • The Stations of the Canon: Duncan and Gwen still get Ship Tease, Bridgette, Harold, Leshawna, and Izzy still get eliminated in the same points as canon, Izzy and Owen still break up in Jamaica, and Ezekiel still becomes a stowaway on the plane (albeit without going feral and leaving for good after London).
  • Taught by Experience: Lindsay is initially with the majority of Team Amazon, being disgusted with Gwen for apparently kissing Duncan when he was Courtney's boyfriend and agreeing to vote her out next time they lose. But in the next chapter, she realizes that in the previous two seasons she misjudged Gwen because of what Heather and Justin kept telling her. She realizes she was wrong back then and rather than rush in her judgment again, thinks she should let Gwen tell her her side of the story. Once she hears Gwen's story, she decides Gwen was in the right and agrees to help her get rid of Courtney.
  • Team Member in the Adaptation: Since all twenty-four members of the first generation cast are competing in this season, all three teams get the castmates who didn't participate in canon as members:
    • Team Victory: Geoff and Justin
    • Team Minotaur: Eva and Trent. Also, Izzy is a member from the start instead of being switched over for Sierra.
    • Team Amazon: Beth, Katie, and Sadie
    • Duncan is briefly a member of Team Amazon when they first form, but like Izzy in canon, he ends up swapping teams with Sierra before the first challenge is over.
    • As of the London challenge, the last two members of Team Victory are dissolved and are placed in either Team Amazon or Minotaur. Lindsay joins Team Amazon and DJ joins Team Minotaur.
  • Tempting Fate:
    • A member of Team Amazon still jinxes the team by predicting good luck when they arrive in the Amazon and are called out on it by everyone else. But instead of it being Gwen, it is Sadie and Katie.
    • Team Victory realizes they cursed themselves by naming themselves "Team Victory", with Justin realizing how arrogant it sounds it provokes the universe into giving them bad luck and losing almost every challenge.
    • Eva insists to Noah that she has nothing to worry about from making herself look like a threat by going all out in challenges and winning immunity since she plans to just keep winning immunity so they can't eliminate her. She ends up losing immunity later that chapter and is eliminated after Heather convinces Alejandro that she is too big of a threat to keep around anymore, and Noah promptly tells her I Warned You.
    • After Sierra's elimination in China, Cody spends the first part of the next chapter completely happy, no matter what happens to him, saying how nothing can ruin his good mood now. This is turned on him when the second part of the challenge is revealed to be capturing a feral Sierra.
  • There Is a God!: Noah happily remarks this in a confessional, after watching a major blowup between the other contestants in Greece.
  • This Means War!: Noah declares this against Alejandro after Alejandro gets Owen eliminated in London.
  • Too Dumb to Live: After Lindsay accidentally gets the crayon she previously removed stuck in her brain again, she becomes even dumber than she previously was, with her trying to destroy the boat they were on and attacking her teammates, and her voting herself off thinking she voted herself president. Chris is actually so worried she might literally be this that he decides to make a responsible decision and have Chef pull out the crayon from her brain again after her elimination, to make sure she doesn't kill herself while she's waiting to be picked up by the Plane of Losers.
  • Too Kinky to Torture: Eva volunteers to be hooked up to the medieval torture rack in the challenge in London, but she finds it actually feels pretty good and lets out a few moans that Noah says she sounds like she is having an orgasm. She is later the only one to enjoy the Swedish massages, which involves a giant Viking giving massages by pulling at her limbs.
  • Troll: As it turns out, Owen can perfectly pronounce Alejandro's name; he calls him "Al" or gets it wrong on purpose just to bug him. This angers Alejandro and plays into him successfully orchestrating Owen's downfall.
  • Unexplained Recovery: Justin is medically evacuated in Jamaica, but when they appear on the Aftermath in the very next chapter, they are perfectly fine. This is even stranger when Leshawna, who was hurt before Justin, is still in their wheelchair during the same Aftermath. This is eventually answered when it is revealed Chris has a cloning machine he uses in case anyone gets crippled or killed, explaining how the interns that seem to die all the time always come back. But it does leave Gwen concerned on what happened to the original Justin.
  • Unsportsmanlike Gloating: There are several instances throughout the story, with whoever does it usually getting Laser-Guided Karma because of it.
    • Beth constantly brags to Heather about how she won Action as a way to say how everyone should ignore Heather. This bites her when Heather convinces everyone to vote off Beth because she already won, resulting in Beth being the first one eliminated.
    • When Team Victory finally wins 1st place and rides First Class, Ezekiel spends the entire next chapter boasting about their victory to the point he gets on everyone's nerves, including his team. When Team Victory loses the challenge because of him he ends up being voted off.
    • Team Victory themselves realize they unintentionally did this with their own name. After they won the first challenge in Egypt and got to choose their name they chose the arrogant sounding name "Team Victory", which Justin realizes was the ultimate Tempting Fate they could have done and resulted in them losing most of the challenges afterwards. Unfortunately, Chris doesn't let them change their name when they ask.
  • Villain Respect: Alejandro explains in a confessional he was being completely honest about forgiving Duncan for hitting him in the eye, since unlike Owen, who accidentally hit him due to stupidity and carelessness, Duncan did it deliberately out of rage, hatred, and vengeance, which are qualities Alejandro says he respects.
  • What Could Have Been: In the third Aftermath, Ezekiel reveals an In-Universe example of this would have occurred had he won the London challenge. He reveals that both Team Amazon and Team Minotaur would have eliminated someone and he would've been placed on Team Amazon.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Blaineley and Josh call out Harold in the first Aftermath for rigging the votes to get Courtney eliminated back in Season 1, pointing out that not only did Courtney have nothing to do with Duncan's bullying, but his actions were likely Courtney's Start of Darkness that resulted in her Took a Level in Jerkass throughout Action.
  • Why Can't I Hate You?: Following Duncan and Gwen getting together, Cody really wants to be mad at Duncan. However, due to the punk helping him several times during the Australia challenge as well as throughout the season, Cody finds that he really can't.
  • The Worf Effect: Even Eva is captured by Jack the Ripper during the London challenge. Though this may be justified since she was tied to a medieval torture rack at the time.
Noah: (in a confessional) Okay. The Ripper got Eva. I am officially scared now.
  • Would Hit a Girl: Played for Laughs when Chris reveals this is his primary reason for being a feminist.
Chris: I believe in mistreating girls the same as guys!
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness:
    • Combined with Kick the Dog; after Courtney's elimination, Alejandro states he is "breaking up with her", since she is now eliminated and of no more use to him, confirming to her that he was only using her and that she was so vulnerable she made it too easy for him.
    • Played Straight in the Africa challenge when Heather convinces Alejandro to eliminate Eva despite all the help she gave him early on, including saving him from elimination twice, since she is too big of a threat to keep around anymore. Alejandro even says in a confessional after her elimination that her use has sadly come to an end.
  • You Owe Me: Cody says this to Gwen in China, saying that he helped her vote out Courtney last time, and it cost his friend Trent a place in the game too, meaning that she needs to agree to vote out Sierra with him this time, unless Sierra wins immunity. Gwen concedes to his point.
