"For decades, we parade the cake every Christmas!"*Poke*

After finding a fruitcake in Double-D's closet, Ed becomes obsessed with Christmas, while Eddy decides to bilk the kids out of their change when he finds out it's Piggy Bank Day.

Examples

  • Bittersweet Ending: Edd and Eddy end up deprived of jawbreakers due to Ed giving away the rest, but Ed himself still manages to get one and is shown smiling at Eddy having apparently finally gotten into the Christmas spirit (though he did just knock himself out trying to tackle the last jawbreaker away from Ed).
  • Christmas Carolers: The Eds decide to make money going door to door, entertaining the Kids with Christmas songs. At one point, they even sing "Give us cash, or we'll never stop singing!"
  • Christmas in July: Ed, overcome with the Christmas spirit, tries to celebrate in the summer. Everyone else soon gets in on the act.
  • Dirty Coward: When it's revealed that Double D was inside the giant piggy bank and had Jimmy's piggy bank with the intent of breaking it open, he's so ashamed that he starts crying. As Ed consoles him and most of the kids feel bad for him, Eddy immediately blames him for stealing in spite of in all likelihood he either forced or threatened him into taking part of the scam. Thankfully, none of the others are fooled one bit.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: An upset Ed violently covers Eddy's mouth after the latter defensively says "Santa don't know squat!" Since he Does Not Know His Own Strength, Ed ends up crushing the lower half of Eddy's head and causing his face to turn blue.
  • Easily Forgiven: Ed reveals that Double D was hiding inside the giant piggy bank and was about to smash open Jimmy's piggy bank with a hammer. Double D is so ashamed of himself for this he breaks down in tears, with Ed comforting him that Santa forgives him and the other kids all feeling bad for him themselves. This is justified since it is clear to them that Double D wanted nothing to do with the whole thing, and Eddy forced him to do it.
  • Everyone Hates Fruit Cakes: The Eds find a decades-old "ancestral fruitcake" in Edd's parents' closet, which Eddy initially mistakes for a hunk of bologna. Rather than eating the fruitcake, Edd's family apparently just uses it as a Christmas decoration.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Eddy uses the sudden Christmas spirit atmosphere to scam the Kids out of their money with Christmas carols and then spend it on a bag of jawbreakers. Ed, still in a Christmas mood, ends up giving them all away back to the kids. In retrospective, he is rewarding them with treats that their money was spent on.
  • Let Me at Him!: After Ed gives away all his jawbreakers, Eddy races at him in a rage, with Double D trying to hold him back, with little success.
Eddy: HE GAVE AWAY ALL MY JAWBREAKERS!!!
Edd: Eddy, wait! You're wearing out the soles of my shoes!
  • Metaphorgotten: Ed when briefly imitating Edd's father:
Ed: And remember, son: "A mind is a terrible organ to shovel."
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Edd when he nearly smashes Jimmy's piggy bank.
  • Pet the Dog: Kevin genuinely compliments Ed for stopping the Piggy Bank Belly Pumper scam and giving Jimmy his piggy bank back. Even Sarah was smiling at Ed for doing so.
    Kevin: It's better to give–
    Nazz: Than to receive, Ed.
    • Even the kids don’t even blame Double D for almost breaking Jimmy’s piggy bank and instead look at Eddy in disgust for making him cry.
    • Jimmy genuinely trying to give Double D his piggy bank in the Christmas spirit while Double D politely declines.
  • Please Spare Him, My Liege!: When Ed discovers Double D is in the giant piggy bank and is about to smash open Jimmy's own piggy bank, he loudly declares "Santa, spare him!" before revealing Double D to everyone, wanting his friend to be spared for his actions.
  • Rewind, Replay, Repeat: Ed pushes on Edd's head so he can rewind him and repeat his sentence.
  • Running Gag: Eddy continuously saying that it isn't Christmas, since the episode takes place in July.
  • Sarcasm-Blind: After Jimmy foolishly reveals to Eddy that it's Piggy Bank day:
Sarah: Why don't you tell him your shoe size, Jimmy?
Jimmy: Why? (Sarah pulls him away)
  • Saying Sound Effects Outloud: While in Edd's parent's room, the Eds do this, with Edd even saying "Pant, pant, pant, pant".
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: When the Eds come to Rolf's door while caroling and see his way of celebrating Christmas, Double-D silently sneaks away.
  • Scooby-Dooby Doors: The episode opens on Eddy and Ed tiptoeing from room to room across Double D's hallway.
  • Sexless Marriage: Implied by Double D after Ed tries to kiss him (in addition to the separate beds):
Edd: There's no kissing allowed in my parents' bedroom, Ed!
  • Under the Mistletoe: Invoked by Ed. Eddy wonders where he even got the thing in the middle of July.
  • Yank the Dog's Chain: After successfully making a haul caroling, Eddy manages to buy a whole bag of jawbreakers...only for Ed to give them away to all the Kids.

Gave Jawbreakers To All

Using a jaw of quarters from one of few successful scams, Eddy buys an entire bag of jawbreakers. Unfortunately, Ed, caught up in the spirit of Christmas, ends up giving all of them away to the kids, much to Eddy's fury.
