The Red Hero Dragon

The story's main character, Izuku is a Quirkless teenager who, despite his status, wants to be a hero like his idol, All Might. Tricked and killed by the fallen angel Raynare, he is brought back from death and reincarnated into a devil by Rias Gremory, which allows him to discover a power he knew not he had: a Sacred Gear.

His Sacred Gear is "Boosted Gear", which in its base form allows him to double his power and physical skills every ten seconds, but which contains even more secrets for him to discover. He also carries the Pawn piece, which allows him to access all other pieces' powers (save the King's) in certain circumstances. As of Chapter 32, he became the Ninth Torchbearer of One For All at All Might's request.

  • Ability Mixing: Uses the Boosts from the Boosted Gear to increase the durability of his bones when using One For All, and uses the energy from the Quirk to increase the power of his Dragon Shots.
  • The Ace: He is considered one of the strongest students in the first-year hero course. In fact, the strongest student in the first-year hero course by the time the Sports Festival ends.
  • Accidental Pervert: Much to his distress, the universe seems to delight itself into getting him in this kind of situation.
  • Adaptation Species Change: Izuku in this story is not fully human as he has some dragon heritage. By Ddraig's estimations, he is at least 1/16th Dragon.
  • Adaptational Badass: Thanks to his draconic ancestry, he's capable of hitting hard and fast without risking his health as his canon self did, and Boosted Gear increases the power he can wield. During the Entrance Exam, he takes first place, while the USJ incident has him reliably handling off multiple villains. He also wins the Sports Festival. He ends up accepting All Might's offer to pass One for All to him after the fight with Kokabiel, figures out how to reduce the output the day after getting it, and then develops Dragon Veil (the equivalent of Full Cowl) several days before his internship begins.
  • Adaptational Name Change:
    • He chooses "Viridian" as his hero name instead of "Deku".
    • He decides to name his ability to control One for All's output by spreading it through his body "Dragon Veil" instead of "Full Cowl".
  • Adaptational Superpower Change: Izuku is still Quirkless, but he has the Boosted Gear, as well as the powers of the Pawn Piece. Ultimately subverted, as after USJ, Izuku is chosen as the Ninth Torchbearer of One for All by All Might himself, accepting the offer after the fight with Kokabiel.
    • He ends up unlocking Gearshift during the Peace Conference.
  • Affectionate Gesture to the Head: Takes up patting Koneko on the head after finding out she likes it.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Some of the girls who have an interest in him usually have some kind of nickname for him.
    • Rias calls him "Izu-kun" for short.
    • Ochako, unlike in canon, also calls him Izu-kun.
    • Tsubasa, of Sona's peerage, calls him "Green".
    • Mina chooses "Midori".
    • Irina calls him "Zuku".
    • Hagakure picks "Izi".
  • Ascended Fanboy: Like canon, he ends up becoming All Might's successor as a bearer of One For All.
  • Berserk Button: Hurting or disrespecting his friends is a big one. When he saw how callously Riser treats Rias, as well as his plans for the girls if he won the Rating Game, it enraged him. He gets pissed when Bakugo calls Rias a "bitch", and also when Shinso badmouths her during their fight at the Sports Festival. During the USJ, when the Nomu attempts to attack Ibara, he unlocks his Balance Breaker to save her.
    • His family is another button. When Vali threatens to kill his parents, he unlocks his true Balance Breaker and goes to town on him.
  • Bigger Is Better in Bed: All the girls interested in him at the meeting in Chapter 39 react positively when they hear how "big" he is according to what Kiryuu told Ibara... especially after Ibara specifies that he's that big soft.
  • Cannot Talk to Women: At the beginning of the story, the only girl he's remotely comfortable with is his classmate Milia Takamaki (who, ironically, is a succubus), he has a meltdown when he meets Rias, and is left in shock when Amano Yuuma asks him out on a date. His interactions with the rest of the Peerage help him get better, although meeting someone new will likely make him stumble. In spite of this, it's Izuku who takes the first step in admitting his feelings with his "harem".
  • Character Tics: Izuku's mumble storms are still in full force, as is his penchant for Quirk analysis.
  • Chick Magnet: To his shock, multiple girls are really attracted to him without him doing anything beyond being himself. He's quite charismatic, the epitome of Nice Guy, and very buff from his Training from Hell, which make him very attractive already, and according to Ddraig his draconic ancestry and the influence of Boosted Gear make him even more attractive in the eyes of other women. As of Chapter 58, he's caught the attention of 27 girls, a list that includes all of his female classmates, most from 1-B's girls, U.A.'s three Devil Kings, seven girls from other U.A. courses (including the junior high division), and two of Japan's Top Ten Heroines.
  • Clark Kent Outfit: His normal clothes are rather deceptive about how muscular he's gotten after training, Kendo has an interesting reaction when she innocently pokes him and realizes just how buff he is.
  • Color-Coded for Your Convenience: Izuku has two contrasting colors that are tied to his being. They are also tied into his hero name Viridian, The Red Hero Dragon.
    • Green: His hair and eyes are green, his hero costume is green, his draconic powers make him look green. It's even part of his Meaningful Name. One for All also shows as green lightning covering his body.
    • Red: He's the Red Dragon Emperor, his favorite shoes are red, when using Boosted Gear his scales turn red and his Balance Breaker gives him red Powered Armor.
  • Color Failure: He's done this a couple of times so far. The first was when Irina kissed him goodbye at the airport, the second was when All Might reveal that he knows that the ORC members are Devils.
  • Combo Platter Powers: At the beginning of his training, he has Boosted Gear and his devil abilities, and later awakens his draconic inheritance, which allows him to become a well trained Lightning Bruiser, and that's without taking Promotion into account. And all that is before he becomes the Ninth Torchbearer of One for All.
  • Composite Character: He's Izuku Midoriya, getting Issei's Boosted Gear, revival after being killed by Raynare, role as the Ultimate Pawn, and the ability to attract all the girls.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Izuku is a Reincarnated Devil, and is one of the most selfless heroes in the entire story. He is so pure of heart that he can touch Hauteclere without a problem.
  • Dork Knight: Izuku is a Hero Otaku who Cannot Talk to Women and becomes an Ascended Fanboy Socially Awkward Hero. There's no way he can avoid being this.
  • Dungeon Bypass: Manages to fly over multiple obstacles in the Sports Festival Obstacle Course.
  • Endearingly Dorky: Yeah, his dorkiness is one of the reasons why so many women become interested in him.
  • Exact Words: He tends to call his draconic and Sacred Gear abilities a "power" to avoid lying about having a Quirk, but Liana manages to notice the wording.
  • Failed a Spot Check: Apparently, he's the only one in 1-A besides Kaminari and Mineta that hadn't figured out Todoroki's gender before the Sports Festival.
  • Finishing Move: So far, Izuku has created two such attacks. One is Dragon Smash, a Boosted punch that is done to near his limits, and the second is San Francisco Dragon Shot, an attack that combines Boosted Gear's Dragon Shot and 20% One for All.
  • First Kiss: Has his with Rias in Chapter 18. Or so he thought - Irina stole it when they were kids and he was asleep.
  • Foil: Izuku acts as one to Katsuki Bakugo and Shoto Todoroki.
  • Freudian Slip: When All Might teases him about being in a relationship with a classmate, Izuku mentions Rias even though All Might had not mentioned anyone. All Might notes that the kid's clearly head over heels for Rias, even if he hasn't realized it yet.
  • Guile Hero: He is a smart kid, and when he wants he can use that with great effect. During the Cavalry Battle, he has Ibara steal another headband, and then Milia (who is the rider) swaps them around so no one can tell the one on her forehead is not the ten million point headband. And considering he is also spending time with Liana he is not just getting stronger physically but also mentally.
  • Heroic BSoD: Usually Played for Laughs, mostly because it is caused by a girl.
    • The first comes after Rias and he has a passionate kissing session in chapter 18.
    • The second is after Irina kisses him for a full minute in the airport - and he doesn't wake from this one until an hour later when he finds himself in his bed.
    • The third is after Xenovia outright asks him to have sex with her so she can get pregnant. This one became problematic because of her own No Social Skills led to an Attempted Rape.
    • The fourth is when Rias, Ochako and Ibara try to make him say whose boobs are the best.
  • Horned Humanoid: When his dragon blood awakens he starts growing horns, which get larger when he actively uses his powers.
  • I Just Want to Be Special: He wants to be a hero even though he doesn't have a Quirk. Fortunately, Rias saving him gives him the chance to find he has the Boosted Gear and realize his dream.
  • In Spite of a Nail: He still gets One For All even though he doesn't get involved in the Sludge Villain incident.
  • Kame Hame Hadouken: Izuku develops the Dragon Shot to save Ibara from Freed. Exaggerated with the San Francisco Dragon Shot, which consists of using 20% of One for All while using Dragon Shot.
  • Karmic Jackpot: Like canon, after years of torment for chasing his dream despite being Quirkless and going through a life and (literal) death situation, discovering his Sacred Gear allows him to finally become a hero. That isn't even the end of his jackpot as after USJ, All Might chooses him to become the 9th Bearer of One for All - which, going with canon, will end up giving him a whole total of seven Quirks.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Thanks to Boosted Gear, he's quick enough to hit Kokabiel in the face and break his nose. Combining Boosted Gear with One for All grants him even greater speed and strength.
  • Loose Lips: Has an unfortunate tendency to let others know parts of his secrets.
    • His wording of "power" when talking about his Sacred Gear clues Liana in that he doesn't have an actual Quirk.
    • When Todoroki asks Izuku if he is the secret lovechild of All Might and Ryukyu, Izuku answers "That's not it at all", letting Todoroki know that Izuku does have a link to one of the heroes.
  • Luminescent Blush: Turns really red in the face when talking to a pretty girl. (Un)Fortunately for him, he's smack dab in the middle of a growing group of beautiful girls that want to jump his bones. He's (slowly) getting better.
  • Magikarp Power: The essence of Boosted Gear. It doubles Izuku's power every ten seconds while it is active. The effect of the initial boost is relatively low, but if he manages to keep the effect active for long enough he can become powerful enough to kill gods - and even the former can be improved with training, as the effects of such change would multiply as well. One for All and its unbelievably enormous stores of power push this up a notch: if he combines 20% One for All with one boost, he hits the equivalent to 40% One for All (which canon!Izuku only reaches several months later) on top of doubling his natural power - and that's without taking in account how One for All's other Quirks will interact with Izuku when they awaken.
    • Also the Pawn pieces he carries. By themselves, they do not grant any additional powers like the other pieces do - save for Promotion, which allows Izuku to access the powers of the Queen, Bishop, Knight or Rook, allowing him to pick whatever is best for the situation. And the effects are greater due to the fact that he has 8 pieces.
  • Magnetic Hero: He may be timid and shy, but he has an incredible natural charisma that gets boosted by his draconic heritage that unwittingly leads to him taking the lead, and pushes everyone else around him to do their best by being the example.
  • Muscles Are Meaningful: It's noted that his muscles are clearly meant for combat, not for show like with some bodybuilders. All Might even decides to forgo any extra training after examining his physique, believing that he's already strong enough to handle One for All.
  • Otaku: Izuku still loves Heroes more than anything, especially All Might. His room is plastered from wall to wall with All Might's merchandise and his first Finishing Move, Dragon Smash, is based on All Might's trademark attacks.
  • Paralyzing Fear of Sexuality: His lack of social skills causes him to blush and stutter when facing a girl putting the moves on him, and when Xenovia asks him to knock her up he completely shuts down.
  • Parental Sexuality Squick: Mentions to Rias that he's glad that the new mansion has multiple floors, because Hisashi and Inko's catch-up sessions when Hisashi does come home can be rather intense. Also, he once caught them in the middle of one of those sessions before.
  • Poster-Gallery Bedroom: Rias lampshades how, while she knew he was a hero fanboy, she wasn't expecting to see all the All Might posters and figurines, action figures, and other merchandise in his room. Somehow that is more embarrassing for Izuku than the fact he and Rias are naked in his bed.
  • Recessive Super Genes: His dragon heritage doesn't appear until he unlocks the Boosted Gear.
  • Red Baron: After the Rating Game against Riser, Izuku becomes known as the "Red Hero Dragon" in the Underworld.
  • Scars Are Forever: Gets a large scar in one of his wings after Taking the Bullet from Xenovia.
  • Shapeshifting Excludes Clothing: Averted, his dragon and devil wings can manifest without harming his clothes, but his hero costume has Velcro slits for his dragon wings anyway so people don't get suspicious about the lack of holes in his shirt.
  • She Is Not My Girlfriend: When All Might talks with Izuku about him dating other students, he panics and claims that he and Rias are Just Friends - even though All Might didn't even mention her.
  • Smart People Play Chess: He initially doesn't know how to play, but when Liana offers to teach him he soon proves to be a good player: Liana begins to find him challenging after only one week, and Sona admits to Tsubaki he could have beaten her if their game in Chapter 50 hadn't been interrupted by the bell.
  • Smells Sexy: Rias blatantly sniffs him when he returns from his internship.
  • Socially Awkward Hero: Put Izuku in a Life-or-Death situation and he is the most reliable member of the Occult Research Club/Class 1-A. He is also a Dork Knight with No Social Skills and a Paralyzing Fear of Sexuality.
  • Spanner in the Works: Izuku is one against the Meta Liberation Army simply by rescuing Yukimura Fuyuko from a rapist gym coach. Even afterward, Izuku had no clue Shujin High School was a Propaganda Machine for the Meta Liberation Army and he made some of their plans completely FUBAR.
  • Super-Empowering: Izuku can transfer his Boosts from Boosted Gear to his allies to grant them a temporary power-up for their attacks. Canon makes Izuku the last holder of One for All because of lack of Quirkless people and the Quirk becoming too strong, but with the Supernatural World it is possible that Izuku can pass the Quirk to the next generation. Supernatural powers aren't Quirks so Izuku can find a successor.
  • Super-Speed: When Vali bluffs and threatens to kill his parents, Izuku unlocks Gearshift.
  • Taking the Bullet: Reflexively pushes Xenovia out of the way when Rashomon attacks her, though he thankfully only loses a part of his dragon wing, which does get restored - although it still leaves scars.
  • Uneven Hybrid: Ddraig estimates that he's at least 1/16th dragon, which doesn't manifest in him until after he gains the use of the Boosted Gear.
  • Warrior Therapist: He has a penchant for helping people get past bad experiences and on the path to recovery.
    • Back at middle school, he helped Milia start her path towards getting rid of her Broken Bird status.
    • Helps Kiba move on from his problems with Excalibur.
    • During the fight with Kokabiel, pushes Rias out of her Heroic BSoD.
    • Gives Irina hope after she learns God Is Dead.
    • Convinces Todoroki to use the fire half of her Quirk.
  • Youthful Freckles: A trademark of his character design that hasn't changed in this story.

Ddraig

Species: Dragon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ddraig_red_dragon_emperor___profile_pic_infobox.png

One of the two Heavenly Dragons who got sealed thanks to them fighting off the other three factions. He is the dragon who is residing with Izuku as the Longinus "Boosted Gear".

  • The Gadfly: Loves to needle Izuku when he gets flustered or in trouble with the girls.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Got a lot of enjoyment out of how scared just the thought of Gran Torino made All Might, so a couple of chapters later, he gets terrified because Izuku was considering interning with Ryukyu, who is the daughter of the Dragon King Tiamat, who has been hounding Ddraig for a long time because he borrowed some of her treasures for his fight against Albion and subsequently lost or destroyed them all. And then Tiamat corners him where he can't escape to confront him about it...
  • Spirit Advisor: Of a sort. Since his spirit currently resides within the Boosted Gear and he does occasionally give Izuku advice (just not with girls). He even helps Izuku get a better hang of using One for All.
  • Time Abyss: He was already rather old and one of the most powerful beings in the world during the war between Angels, Fallen, and Devils, thousands of years before the story.

    Rias Gremory

Princess/President Rias Gremory

Role: King

Species: Pure-Blooded Devil

U.A. Class Status: 2-D General Studies Class

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/image_4017.jpeg

Beautiful. Stunning. Deadly. Rias Gremory is all these things and more, and her status as the pure-blood Heir of House Gremory and sister to one of the Four Satans ensures this will only grow in time. A General Studies student at U.A., president of its Occult Research Club and co-ruler of the Musutafu underworld, she reveals herself to Izuku after he accidentally summons her while in the throes of death: interested and intrigued by him, she revives him as the Ultimate Pawn of her Peerage and helps him train so he can achieve his dream - as well as entering into a special relationship with him.

As the King, she can supply people with the Devil Pieces needed to bring people into her Peerage and wields the greatest power of all in her team, as well as the Power of Destruction she inherited from her mother.

  • Almighty Janitor: The Crimson-Haired Ruin Princess is a General Studies student.
  • Arranged Marriage: She was arranged to marry Riser Phenex, a fate she manages to avoid thanks to her Peerage's victory in a Rating Game.
  • Berserk Button: As per canon, a good way to piss off Rias is to (threaten to) hurt a member of her peerage.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Doesn't like it when other girls get close to Izuku (particularly when they aren't the ones in her peerage).
  • Fiery Redhead: She doesn't seem like it, but when angered she can easily go off like a volcano.
  • First Kiss: Gives hers to Izuku in Chapter 18.
  • Genre Savvy: She records the fight between Hatsume and Bakugo knowing that the former would humiliate the latter. She was spot on.
  • Got Me Doing It: Her reaction when she realizes that she's picking up Izuku's habits, like mumbling or taking notes.
  • Marshmallow Hell: Her love for hugging her Peerage keeps her doing this to them. She deliberately uses this on Izuku as part of her teasing.
  • Naked Apron: In Chapter 30, she decides to join Ibara and Ochako when they are doing this.
  • Naked First Impression: While her first meeting with Izuku happens while he observes several heroes, the first time they actually talk to each other she's completely naked.
  • Occidental Otaku: She's a fan of Japanese culture and loves the present Izuku, Ibara and Ochako get for her - a set of figurines from one of her favorite series.
  • Official Couple: She confesses to Izuku in Chapter 51, and he agrees to dating her (and the rest of the harem).
  • Secret-Keeper: Knows that Izuku is the Ninth Torchbearer of One for All as of Chapter 35, which only Momo and Kyoka know about.
  • Shameless Fanservice Girl: Tells Izuku he can look at her all he wants while she is naked, offers to bathe with him, repeatedly takes off her clothes to sleep with him, joins Ibara and Ochako when they try the Naked Apron approach, and takes notes on buying a cheerleader outfit and taking belly dancing and pole dancing lessons when she sees Izuku's reaction to the 1-A and 1-B girls wearing cheerleader outfits.
  • Sleeps in the Nude: As is in canon so does she here, even inspiring Ibara and Ochako to get in on it like she does Asia in canon DxD.
  • Stock Light-Novel Calamity Princess: The Trope Codifier herself.
  • Team Mom: She will do everything in her hand if her Peerage has trouble, and helps Izuku (and the others) train so they can become Pro Heroes.
  • The Tease: One of her favorite things to do to Izuku.
  • Underestimating Badassery: Normally she isn't prone to doing this especially when it comes to the Supernatural World; however, she is fooled by Gran Torino's Scatterbrained Senior act.

    Kiba Yuuto

Kiba Yuuto

Quirk: Unnamed gravitational orientation change Quirk

Sacred Gear: Sword Birth

Role: Knight

Species: Human (formerly)/Reincarnated Devil

U.A. Class Status: 1-C General Studies Class

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/image_2670.jpeg

Taciturn, reserved, yet happy to help. These words can describe Yuuto quite fine, but there's more to him than what he shows to the world. Rias' knight, he's the first member of her Peerage and her most veteran fighter. He currently attends U.A. as part of the General Studies course.

His Quirk allows him to alter his gravitational orientation, allowing him to walk up a wall or upside down. His Sacred Gear, "Sword Birth", lets him create swords of different types and attributes according to his will, which has recently upgraded into being able to mix holy and devil power within. Finally, he has the Knight piece, which grants him great speed and agility while making him easier to bring down.

  • Adaptational Superpower Change: Yuuto has a Quirk that allows him to change his gravitational orientation, but only when walking on a surface (like a wall).
  • Almighty Janitor: A Master Swordsman with a Knight piece and a Balance Breaker has to be this when he chose to be a General Studies student. He also chose to not take part in the U.A. Sports Festival just because he wants the others to have their limelight.
  • Ambiguously Bi: Hyde teases him in chapter 39 about possibly being gay. Yuuto denies being gay but does admit to being a little attracted to men.
  • Crippling Overspecialization: Yuuto is really quick, but during the pre-Rating Game training Mizu points out that his fighting style is somewhat predictable, so she teaches him to be more original.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: He was part of a group of children that had been raised to be able to wield Excalibur, only for the man in charge of the program to decide to have them all killed when none of them showed the ability to do so. Yuuto was the only known survivor of that massacre. (Tosca's survival has been confirmed).
  • Fire-Forged Friends: Fighting alongside Izuku makes them good friends, and he swears to pay Izuku back for helping him deal with his personal issues.
  • Master Swordsman: He was trained by one of the best, and he doesn't disappoint.
  • "Not So Different" Remark: Tells Iida that he knows what it's like to have one's family attacked and seek vengeance.
  • Ship Tease: After the fight with Kokabiel, he gets a bit of this with Tsubaki, a change from canon where his loyalty to the ORC and Issei makes him somewhat unaware of the latter's crush on him.
  • Vengeance Feels Empty: After Iida's brother is attacked by Stain, and everyone is worried about him, Kiba tells him his backstory, albeit with the supernatural elements edited out, and tells him that even after killing Valper, it did nothing to bring the dead back.
  • Weak, but Skilled: Compared to some of the other members of the Occult Research Club (who are, outside Ibara and Jiro, powerhouses) Yuuto only relies on his swordsmanship and speed.
  • Yin-Yang Bomb: His Sword of the Betrayer, which combines holy and demonic magic.

    Toujou Koneko

Toujou Koneko

Role: Rook

Species: Reincarnated Devil

U.A. Class Status: 3rd-Year Middle School

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/image_94657.jpeg

Aloof and quiet, Koneko is the youngest member of Rias' Peerage, but that doesn't keep her from actually being the strongest. She currently attends U.A.'s new Junior High School.

Her only power is the Rook piece, which grants her enormous strength and endurance in exchange for losing agility. If canon remains accurate, she can also use the powers of a Nekoshou Nekomata, but chooses not to due to her dislike of them.

  • Animal Motifs: Cats. She's aloof, only gets affectionate with those she considers worthy of it, her familiar is a cat, wears a pair of cat-shaped hair decorators, and likes being patted on the head. If going by canon, she is a Nekoshou Nekomata, but this truth isn't revealed yet to the rest of the ORC.
  • The Baby of the Bunch: Technically this, as the youngest and smallest of the ORC at the beginning of the story.
  • Badass Adorable: She's tiny and cute - but cross her and she will kick your ass.
  • Badass in Distress: While physically the strongest of the four, she, Ochako, Ravel, and Gasper are captured by the Nilrem faction of the Khaos Brigade during the Peace Summit, one member in particular using her, Ochako, and Ravel as hostages to force Gasper's compliance.
  • Big Eater: Can eat the Cosmic Tower Burger in twenty minutes and then ask for dessert!
  • Hidden Depths: She likes rap music.
  • Little Miss Snarker: She has more than a few sharp barbs when talking.
  • Moe: She knows she's this and is willing to use it.
  • The Quiet One: She does not speak much.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: She is the ORC's strongest member in terms of physical power and also the shortest.

    Shiozaki Ibara - Maria

Shiozaki Ibara - Maria

Quirk: Vines

Sacred Gear: Twilight Healing

Role: Bishop

Species: Human (formerly)/Reincarnated Devil

U.A. Class Status: 1-B Hero Class

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ibara_shiozaki_anime.png
Click here to see her hero costume

A former nun and Holy Maiden that was excommunicated for healing a devil, fate brought her to Musutafu, where she meets Izuku. His efforts to save her from the manipulations of Raynare seem for naught after she is mortally wounded, but when Ibara requests the chance to live with Izuku, Rias answers by granting her reincarnation as her second Bishop. Joining U.A.'s Hero Class, she trains to become a hero worthy of the name.

Her Quirk, "Vines", turns her hair into long, thorny vines that she can extend and control at will. Her Sacred Gear, "Twilight Healing", allows her to heal anyone of most wounds they may have suffered. As for her Bishop piece, it empowers her ability to use magic.

  • Adaptational Badass: Ibara can fight using her Quirk and knows how to use magic to defend herself. In fact, she uses her vines to protect Rias from Riser's fire for long enough and only loses because of one of Riser's cheap shots.
    • While she did get lucky that she didn't get to face the hard hitters until the semi-finals in which her opponent is Izuku himself and that was the gentlest Curb-Stomp Battle in his favor (he pushes her out of the ring seconds after the match starts), she along with Kendo won third place in the Sports Festival.
  • Ascended Extra: While Class 1-B as a whole appear more often, Ibara is currently the only one who has a major recurring role due to her connection to Rias and crush on Midoriya, a contrast to canon where she's not important to the overall plot.
  • Back from the Dead: Was killed by Raynare, but fortunately Rias revived her.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Hates it when Izuku gets close to (or attracts the attention of) another pretty girl.
  • Composite Character: Ibara combines her canon self with Asia Argento's background and Sacred Gear.
  • Covert Pervert: She isn't above naked bathing with Izuku, taking off her clothes while sleeping with him, or wearing a Naked Apron. She has also memorized his size.
  • Healing Hands: Thanks to Twilight Healing.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: She jumped in front of an attack Raynare had thrown at Izuku, mortally wounding her. The only reason she's still alive is thanks to Rias reviving her as a Bishop. She also takes the bullet to protect Rias from Riser Phenex's fire, although fortunately, she can walk out of that.
  • Lethal Chef: The first time she cooked at House Midoriya, she somehow burned the juice. She's slowly learning out of this thanks to Rias and Inko.
  • Martial Pacifist: Does not like to fight, but will if she has to protect people.
  • Naked Apron: Does this along with Ochako in Chapter 30 on Aika's suggestion.
  • Rescue Romance: She falls in love with Izuku after he fought to rescue her from Raynare and her minions.

    Uraraka Ochako - Uravity

Uraraka Ochako - Uravity

Quirk: Zero Gravity

Role: Rook

Species: Half-Human, Half-Witch (formerly)/Reincarnated Devil

U.A. Class Status: 1-A Hero Class

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/uraraka.png
Click here to see her hero costume

Outgoing, cheerful, and optimistic, Ochako befriends Izuku when they are both training for U.A.'s Entrance Exam. After learning about the supernatural world, she finds out that her mother is a witch, and she has inherited her magical power. After some time as her former babysitter Mizu's apprentice, she becomes Rias' second Rook, getting fully immersed in the many events surrounding both worlds.

Her Quirk is "Zero Gravity", which allows her to make any object she touches unaffected by gravity. Her Rook piece, meanwhile, grants her superhuman strength in exchange for losing speed, and she can also use magic.

  • Accidental Pervert: She ends up getting a very close look at Izuku's "dragon" by accident.
  • Adaptational Badass: While Zero Gravity already made her good, learning how to use magic gives her a wider range of skills, while her Devil Rook powers give her high levels of physical power.
  • Badass in Distress: Ochako is no slouch in battle, and while she puts up a good fight, she, Ravel, Koneko, and Gasper are captured by the Nilrem faction of the Khaos Brigade during the Peace Summit, one member in particular using her, Koneko, and Ravel as hostages to force Gasper's compliance.
  • Blush Stickers: Much like Izuku's Youthful Freckles, this is something she keeps from canon.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Like the other girls in Izuku's harem, she is not keen on other girls doing anything potentially romantic with him. This leads to her losing the fight against Tsuyu, because she gets so flustered from her declared attraction to Izuku that she doesn't use Zero Gravity on her even though she's grabbed Tsuyu's tongue.
  • Combo Platter Powers: She has Zero Gravity, magic, and her Devil Rook powers at her disposal.
  • Covert Pervert: Gets naked to sleep with Izuku, wears a Naked Apron, and takes good looks at him whenever he loses his shirt.
  • Decomposite Character: The reason she's this and not a Composite Character is because the author has confirmed that Rossweisse (who was Rias' second Rook in canon) will be in the harem.
  • Does Not Know His Own Strength: She accidentally takes a door off the hinges trying to get used to her Rook strength, and later on she completely crushes the grip tester from the Quirk assessment test, which was rated to stand up to more than a ton of force.
  • Gravity Master: Her Quirk lets her remove an object's gravity, although overdoing it can cause her to be sickened.
  • Magic Knight: She has the strength of a Rook and the magical power of a witch.
  • Mighty Glacier: Her Rook powers turn her into this, making her physically stronger while sacrificing some speed. This loss of speed and a lapse of combat judgment cost her against Tsuyu in the tournament.
  • Naked Apron: Does this along with Ibara in Chapter 30.
  • Super-Strength: Part and parcel of her Rook power. During the grip test, she destroys the grip tester (which was designed to resist a grip of more than a ton).

    Yaoyorozu Momo - Creati

Yaoyorozu Momo - Creati

Quirk: Creation

Role: Queen

Species: Human half-Fallen Angel (formerly)/Reincarnated Devil

U.A. Class Status: 1-A Hero Class

A gentle and intelligent young lady Izuku befriends after becoming a devil. It turns out that she knows a lot more about the world hidden behind the Masquerade than she initially lets on, given her knowledge of (and hatred for) Fallen Angels. She ends up requesting Rias to reincarnate her as a devil, which she does by turning her into her Queen.

Her primary Quirk, "Creation", allows her to create any inorganic object she can think of, as long as she knows its atomic composition, by using her lipids as fuel for the change, but she also has a secondary Quirk that allows her to shoot lightning and control electromagnetic fields which is actually her Fallen Angel powers. Meanwhile, her Queen piece grants her the strengths of the Rook, Knight, and Bishop pieces.

  • Adaptational Angst Upgrade: Her canon self is a girl who lives with both her parents and loves them both. Her status as Akeno's stand-in turns this into an antagonistic relationship with her father because he was not there when her mother was killed by her own relatives.
  • Adaptational Badass: Even before becoming a devil, Momo can throw lightning around and use that to control magnetic fields, Mikoto Misaka-style, due to her Fallen Angel ancestry.
    • Initially, All Might gave her One for All, but the author chose to Retcon this since she already had a lot of power between her Creation Quirk, her Shock and Awe powers, and her reincarnation as a Devil Queen.
  • Adaptational Curves: While Momo was already well figured for a girl her age in her source material, her Fallen Angel heritage lets her rival Rias' 99cm bust.
  • Adaptational Sexuality: It's never stated what gender, if any, Momo is attracted to in canon. Here she begins the story in a relationship with Kyouka, while she clearly grows attracted to Izuku.
  • Composite Character: Momo takes Akeno's place as Rias' Queen, her powers of lightning, BDSM tendencies, and backstory as the daughter of a Fallen Angel she is estranged with.
    • Meanwhile, she (with Kyoka's help) becomes the one that cleans up Dagobah Beach instead of Izuku. Initially, this was tied up with her becoming the Ninth Bearer of One for All, but a Retcon changed this to a challenge by Rias so she would make Momo her Queen.
  • Covert Pervert:
    • Unlike Akeno, Momo has yet to fully embrace her BDSM side and is a little ashamed of it. She ends up getting carried away when Rias orders her to spank Kiba as part of his punishment.
    • Similarly, she's a bit shocked when she starts to have fun dropping sensuous comments into Izuku's ear.
    • When she learns how "big" Izuku is, she covers her face, but the others can see that she's blushing and drooling.
  • Irony: Is a Lethal Chef despite the requirements of her Quirk necessitating that she has a firm grasp of chemistry and molecular structures.
  • Legacy Character: She is this In-Universe, as her mother was the Pro Hero Creati, which she picks up as her Hero name.
  • Lethal Chef: She once nearly killed Jiro's father with her cooking, and Izuku's attempt to eat chocolate that she makes doesn't even make it into his mouth before he passes out, requiring Ibara to use Twilight Healing for an hour and a half non-stop, and even then, he loses his sense of taste for a week. She's unanimously banned from unsupervised cooking by the rest of the ORC after that.
  • Secret-Keeper: After being saved by All Might, she found out about his injuries. She also knows that All Might has chosen Izuku as his successor.
  • Shock and Awe: She can shoot lightning from her hands due to her father being a Fallen Angel.
  • The Tease: Has started to take a page out of Rias's book with teasing Izuku.
  • Violently Protective Girlfriend: Knocks out Monoma with a bat she creates when he starts mocking Kyoka.

    Jiro Kyoka - Earphone Jack

Jiro Kyoka - Earphone Jack

Quirk: Earphone Jack

Species: Human

U.A. Class Status: 1-A Hero Class

A girl with an interest in music that Izuku meets shortly after he becomes a devil. As Momo's closest friend, she knows much about her secrets and her past. While she remains associated with Rias and her peerage, she is still a normal Quirked human.

Her Quirk, "Earphone Jack", turns her earlobes into extensible earphone jacks that she can use to attack people or transmit the sound of her heartbeat with great power into whatever she stabs with them.

  • A-Cup Angst: She looks down at her own chest with an Eye Twitch while Izuku is being submitted to Marshmallow Hell by Ryukyu and Mirko.
  • Adaptational Sexuality: It's never confirmed what gender, if any, Kyoka is attracted to in canon (though she has Ship Tease moments with Kaminari). In this story, she's in an established relationship with Momo at the beginning of the story and grows attracted to Izuku.
  • Ambiguously Bi/If It's You, It's Okay: While Kyoka's true sexuality is still in the air, she professes a stronger sexual attraction towards women - she's in an intimate relationship with Momo and has lustful thoughts for Rias - but at the same time she's come to fall for Izuku as well. Since she doesn't have many interactions with other male characters, it's hard to pinpoint whether she's bisexual or if Izuku is the only exception.
  • Boxing Battler: She knows how to box, and uses it quite well when sparring with Hyde. Justified as her support items are attached to her legs thus leaving her with her arms as her only source of melee combat.
  • Cloud Cuckoolanders Minder: Regularly stops Mineta's perverted comments by jabbing him with her Earphone Jacks.
  • Covert Pervert: It's noted that she would love to see Rias in a tennis outfit, and has a Nosebleed when she sees her in a rather revealing swimsuit. She has a similar reaction to seeing a picture of Izuku shirtless and straight-up faints when she learns how large he is later.
  • Dope Slap: Uses her earphone jacks to shock Kaminari and Mineta whenever they let their pervert tendencies out.
  • Secret-Keeper: After being saved by All Might, she found out about his injuries. She is also one for Momo's Fallen Angel heritage and her mother's status as a Pro Hero.
  • Token Human: Until Hyde joined, she was the only human member of the Occult Research Club, with her only pre-UA connection to the supernatural being her relationship with Momo.

    Ravel Phenex

Ravel Phenex

Role: Bishop

Species: Pure-Blooded Devil

U.A. Class Status: 3rd-year Middle School

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/image_8793.jpeg
The only daughter of the Phenex Family, she served as Bishop to her brother Riser until the Rating Game between his and Rias Gremory's Peerages, whereupon she transfers into her mother's Peerage and later enrolls U.A.'s Junior High, where she shares classes with Koneko.
  • Animal Jingoism: She has a bird motif, Koneko has a cat motif. It is rare if they get along.
  • Animal Motifs: The phoenix, which fits her surname.
  • Adaptational Early Appearance: While Izuku and the others also meet her first during the Rating Game, she ends up enrolling into U.A.'s middle school much sooner than her canon self did to Kuoh Academy.
  • Covert Pervert: Takes a good look at Izuku while imagining him as the knight in her fairy tales, and has a Nose Bleed when she sees a photo of him naked waist up. Hearing how "big" he is causes her to straight-up faint.
  • Damsel in Distress: She's captured alongside Ochako, Koneko, and Gasper by the Nilrem faction of the Khaos Brigade during the Peace Summit, one member in particular using her, Ochako, and Koneko as hostages to force Gasper's compliance.
  • Embarrassing Nickname: She certainly doesn't like it when Koneko calls her "fried chicken princess".
  • Heel–Face Turn: She was only a heel in terms of rivalry due to her being part of Riser's Peerage, but after this, she transfers to her mother's peerage and to U.A.'s middle school, joining the Occult Research Club.
  • It's Personal: One of the few members of the ORC who loathes All For One for turning her missing brother into a Nomu.
  • Properly Paranoid: She doesn't fully trust Hyde and suspects he's hiding something. She's right.

    Xenovia Quarta

Xenovia Quarta

Quirk: Iron Grip

Species: Human (formerly)/Reincarnated Devil

Role: Knight

U.A. Class Status: 1-C, 1-D, or 1-E General Studies

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/image_7487.jpeg

Xenovia is a girl who works as an exorcist for the Roman Catholic Church. She enters the story along with her guardian Griselda Quarta and fellow exorcist Shidou Irina, being charged with the recovery of the Excalibur swords stolen by the Fallen Angel, Kokabiel. After the matter is resolved, her discovery that God is dead prompts her ex-communication, so she ends up seeking the aid of Rias, who secures her enrollment into U.A.'s General Course and reincarnates her as her second Knight.

  • Almighty Janitor: Xenovia, a trained exorcist with a Knight piece and the Holy Sword Durandal, is another General Studies student.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Arrives just in time to save Kiba from an attack from Freed.
  • Black-and-White Morality: Equates devils with evil. The Holy Sword Arc forces her to confront the clash between her beliefs and reality, growing beyond it.
  • Brutal Honesty: Has no problem in sharing her thoughts with other people. Even when they are about killing someone.
  • Character Development: Grows out of her Black-and-White Morality as she meets the devils and realizes they are good people. The shock of learning that God Is Dead gives her the final push. She doesn't feel worthy of entering a relationship with Izuku when he admits his feelings for his harem at Tokyo Disneyland due to her Attempted Rape.
  • Easily Forgiven: Izuku forgives her for what happened at the pool when she sincerely apologizes. Rias forgives her as well, on the condition that it never happens again. Xenovia realizes this herself and she doesn't feel worthy of entering a relationship with Izuku when he admits his feelings for his harem at Tokyo Disneyland.
  • Everyone Has Standards: When she hears about what Sieg did to Milia's parents and sees her break down upon recalling it, she feels ashamed for even thinking of trying to rebuke her statement about her parents not deserving to be killed like that. She's also genuinely thankful for Izuku Taking the Bullet for her.
  • Extra-ore-dinary: Her Quirk is revealed in Chapter 39 to be called "Iron Grip", and appears to work by turning her hands into metal.
  • Heel–Face Turn: She was not that much of an enemy, but she eventually becomes a willing ally to the ORC, which she joins later.
  • Jerkass Realization: Apologizes to Izuku for what happened at the pool after being set straight about how inappropriate what she did was, as she was under the genuine impression that any guy in such a situation would have jumped at the chance.
  • In the Hood: Wears one as part of her exorcist getup.
  • Master Swordswoman: Comes with the exorcist experience.
  • No Social Skills: Her upbringing did not give her much ability in the social department. She barely knows who All Might is, has no clue who the top pro heroes in Italy are, and doesn't realize how her attempt to "convince" Izuku to get her pregnant could be considered rape. Thankfully, she realizes the problem of that last action after a thorough telling off by Rias and apologizes to Izuku for it (although she still plans to find a way to give him condoms).
  • Sacrificed Basic Skill for Awesome Training: She's a human Master Swordswoman capable of fighting just about anything that she goes after - but she has No Social Skills due to her upbringing.

    Kido Hyde - Night Blade

Kido Hyde - Night Blade

Sacred Gear: Void Red

Species: Human

U.A. Class Status: 1-A Hero Class

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/image_4501.png

One of Izuku's classmates in U.A.'s Class 1-A, he quickly shows to be a dependable fighter. However, unknown to everyone else, he is attending U.A. as part of a plan aimed at saving someone dear to him. After finding himself at the wrong place and time and helping the Occult Research Club stop Kokabiel's mad plans, he joins the ORC. He may also be infiltrating the ORC for his own purposes.

  • An Arm and a Leg: He manages to obliterate Kokabiel's arm.
  • Casting a Shadow: His Sacred Gear's main power. These shadows are even able to eat the light of an Excalibur.
  • Cool Sword: Void Red manifests as a sword called the Insulator and is considered a Longinus-level Sacred Gear.
  • Crippling Overspecialization: Skilled with the sword. Yep. Hand to hand? Not so much. Kyoka easily beats him in a Quirk-free spar.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Despite his punk appearance and abilities based around darkness, he's a pretty nice guy.
  • Experienced Protagonist: It's implied he already went through his some version of his home series, Under Night In-Birth, as he's already familiar with Seth, and Linne declares her intent to bring him back to Kanzankai after spotting him in the Sports Festival.
  • Master Swordsman: He can summon a sword and fight finely with it.
  • The Mole: Ultimately answers to the black knight the ORC faced before.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: Not to the extent of Bakugo, but Hyde has a pretty foul mouth.
  • Spanner in the Works: Stops Mineta from hitching a ride on Momo in the Obstacle Course.
  • Token Human: Hyde is a fully human Occult Research Club member like Jiro but unlike her, he is an Action Survivor of the supernatural world.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: In a sense. While he is good with a sword, he himself admits that his Sacred Gear has a mind of its own and thus somewhat uncontrollable. Plus he sucks at hand to hand. But his Sacred Gear and the Insulator are so dangerous that they balance this out, evident in how he was the only one to do any significant damage to Kokabiel and came close to killing him.
  • Weapon Wields You: He himself has admitted that his Insulator has a mind of its own.

    Yukimura Fuyuko

Yukimura Fuyuko

Species: Human Actually a Yuki Onna with human heritage

Quirk: Fire Control

U.A. Class Status: 2-D General Studies Class

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yukimura_fuyuko_by_krazykamikaze44_dfj85wh.png

A high school student Izuku and Milia save before she commits suicide. She reveals she was driven to it by despair caused by her school situation, capped off by her gym coach, who was trying to coerce her into having sex with him. After the internship ends, she is allowed to transfer to U.A., joining Rias' class.

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Not her, since she's an Original Character, but the Meta Liberation Army, which has been using Shujin Academy as an indoctrination tool.
  • All of the Other Reindeer: She became ostracized because of her Quirk, which was pretty much a weaker version of Endeavor's one.
  • An Ice Person: Comes with being a Yuki-onna. However, that's not all her powers.
  • Attempted Rape: She is almost raped by her gym coach. Fortunately, Izuku stops the man and gets him arrested.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: Part of the reason she comes to like Izuku is that he is the first person to ever appreciate her and compliment her Quirk.
  • Composite Character: She combines Mizore Shirayuki and Shiho Suzui.
    • She physically resembles Mizore, with long pale blue hair. She's also noted to have "cold hands" because, much like Mizore, she's a Yuki Onna, with the power to create ice.
    • She attends Shujin Academy like Shiho.
    • Her abuse at the hands of her gym coach brings to mind Mizore's abuse by Okuto Kotsubo and Shiho's by Suguru Kamoshida.
    • She attempts to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge, like Shiho, but Izuku and Milia save her much like Kurumu (whom Milia is an Expy of) did to Mizore.
  • Humanity Ensues: An odd variant. In DxD canon, Yuki Onna, while they're born as beautiful maidens, become gorillas when they mature. While the same holds true for the race here, Fuyuko won't undergo such a change due to her Quirk.
  • Interrupted Suicide: After Uchishiba told her to come to his apartment, with what he wanted being obvious, she tried to jump off a bridge, hoping that someone would investigate the school after she died, and only Izuku and Milia being present saved her from dying. Becomes a Happily Failed Suicide, as she falls in love with her rescuers, transfers to U.A., which has much stricter abuse protocols than Shujin, and Zero and Nezu, two of Japan's smartest heroes, start investigating Shujin.
  • Irony: She's a Yuki Onna, a Yokai associated with ice, while her Quirk is Playing with Fire.
  • Parental Abandonment: She was abandoned by her family when she developed her Quirk, as Yuki Onna believe it makes them unnatural.
  • Playing with Fire: Downplayed. Her Quirk only allows her to control fire that is already present, and she can't generate more flames. Even then, it takes a lot of concentration to make it do anything.
  • Rape as Backstory: Ties into the Attempted Rape point above, as she's a victim of it.
  • Rescue Romance: Clearly begins to crush on Izuku after he helps save her from her gym coach.
  • Spanner in the Works: Her Happily Failed Suicide allows her to meet Izuku and Milia, and through them, Ryukyu. So when Uchishiba attempts to have her assaulted and then rape her, Izuku and Milia come to her rescue and expose his abuse of her, prompting the Ministry of Education to look into Shujin Academy. Unbeknownst to any of them though, Shujin was actually a Meta Liberation Army indoctrination center, and the investigation into Uchishiba will likely result in Shujin Academy being shut down, robbing the MLA of an important asset.

    Gasper Vladi

Gasper Vladi

Role: Bishop

Species: Dhampir (human-vampire hybrid) / Reincarnated Devil

Sacred Gear: Forbidden Balor View

Quirk: Mind's Eye

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gasper_new.jpg

Gasper is a painfully shy dhampir cross-dressing boy who has to stay in his room because of his lack of control over his Sacred Gear and Quirk — not that he minds, because he's painfully shy and doesn't like to interact with other people. Before the Three Powers' Conference, Rias is granted permission to bring him out and begin his training to teach him control.

  • Adaptational Badass: Downplayed. He has a Quirk that lets him see what's in a person's mind on top of Forbidden Balor View, his Sacred Gear, but he's untrained in its use.
  • Chekhov's Gunman: Izuku takes notice of his room early in the story.
  • Daywalking Vampire: Vampires can walk in the day, but they are severely weakened. Dhampirs like Gasper don't have that weakness.
  • Dude Looks Like a Lady: He's a boy, but his physical features and choice of attire make people who meet him for the first time think he's a girl.
  • Hikkikomori: Would very much prefer to stay inside his room all the time.
  • Power Incontinence: Has trouble controlling both his Sacred Gear and Quirk. For the latter, he wears glasses, since it only works with eye contact.
  • Vegetarian Vampire: Hates drinking blood. However, he later manages to bring himself to drink Izuku's blood to defeat the Stray Magicians holding him and his friends captive.
  • Wholesome Cross Dresser: He usually wears a girl's uniform, due to it being connected to his fond memories of his childhood friend, Valerie.

Quirk: Absorption

Species: Reincarnated Devil

U.A. Class Status: 1-A Hero Class

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tsubasa_yura___profile_pic_infobox.png

Sona's Rook, who joins U.A.'s Hero Course in Class 1-A. Her Quirk, "Absorption", lets her absorb non-living matter with her right hand (changing her body to emulate), and she can absorb and channel energy with her left hand.

  • Adaptational Badass: In addition to her Rook powers, she has a Quirk that allows her to absorb physical matter or energy, adding to her offensive capabilities.
  • Ascended Extra: She has a bigger role in the plot here compared to canon, which includes being part of the main characters' class. During the battle with Kokabiel, she gets to take part in the fight rather than be relegated to the sidelines helping to keep the protective barrier up.
  • Cloudcuckoolander's Minder: She usually gives Saji a good Dope Slap whenever he tries to make a perverted comment.
  • Covert Pervert: Gets a Nosebleed upon seeing a picture of Izuku shirtless, and upon hearing how "big" he is she has another, stuttering and blushing.
  • Has a Type: She's attracted to men who avert Dirt Forcefield, which is one of the reasons why she finds Izuku attractive.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: She decides not to team up with Izuku in the Cavalry Battle because she wants to reach the Sports Festival's third round. During the Battle, her team ends up losing their headband and fails while Izuku's team keeps theirs, winning the event.
  • Huge Schoolgirl: Is the tallest of the Student Council members and called an Amazon by Mineta.
  • Nothing Personal: She doesn't team up with Izuku to avoid the 10-million-point headband putting a target on him, but tells him that it's nothing personal.
  • Shapeshifter Weapon: When she got injected with Trigger, she gained the ability to shapeshift her limbs into weapons, such as her hands into maces or spears. While she loses the ability after Trigger wears off, she starts training to do the same thing without using Trigger, so far managing to sharpen her fingers into claws.
  • Shout-Out: She says her hero costume was inspired by Ryu. Her power takes inspiration from Kevin Levin.
  • Sleeves Are for Wimps: Her hero costume is a karate gi with the sleeves ripped off.

Sona's second Pawn, worth four pieces.

  • Crazy Jealous Guy: Feels betrayed when Serafall reveals that Sona has been buying dating magazines and might have a crush on Izuku.
  • Dope Slap: He becomes the target of this whenever his comments become too perverted.
  • Harem Seeker: Not to the extent of an actual harem, just Sona, and asks Izuku for tips because of how many girls he's got hanging by him.
  • Hopeless Suitor: A twofold case in regards to his feelings for Sona. Not only does she consider him more akin to a little brother as in canon, but she actually has feelings for Izuku, with author's notes confirming her to be a member of Izuku's harem.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: Tries to use his four Pawns' worth to lord over Izuku. Sona soon shoots him down by pointing out that Izuku is worth eight Pawns.

Role: King

Species: Pure-Blooded Devil

U.A. Class Status: 3-C General Studies

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kudelia_dantalion_by_krazykamikaze44_dfj2x0m.png

A fellow Devil heir and third-year General Studies student, Kudelia is an old friend of Rias and Sona. Happy-go-lucky and somewhat irreverent, there is much about her that remains unknown.

  • Deadpan Snarker: Has a great moment when Principal Nezu calls her, Rias, and Sona to his office. She believes that Nezu is onto them, but Sona replies he probably wants to speak about their clubs. The moment the three enter his office, Nezu shows them the footage on the fight with Kokabiel.
  • The Gadfly: She does many things for the sake of laughs - such as telling Serafall that Sona has a crush on Izuku.
  • Hidden Depths: While normally pretty jovial, she got oddly bitter when Rias brought up the concept of quality over quantity, specifically towards the idea that Rias has all the power she'd need as the 'Crimson Haired Princess of Ruin', suggesting she may have a sense of inferiority towards stronger devils than herself.
    • She also took Milia in after the latter's parents' death and helped her while she was in the depths of her depression.
  • Lazy Alias: At school, she goes by Kudelia Dantarion, just a one-letter difference, which Izuku mentally lampshades.
  • No Sense of Personal Space: When she meets Izuku, one of the first things she does is to get well into his personal space - as in, right in front of his face. She also makes a blatant attempt to grope him.
  • Shout-Out Theme Naming: Just like other devils in DxD canon who are named after characters from Gundam, she's named after Kudelia Aina Bernstein from Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans.
  • Statuesque Stunner: Is described as both tall and curvy. Her official height is 176cm tall, qualifying as this.
  • The Tease: Teasingly offers Izuku the chance to have some "alone" time with her and attempts to grope him. She later admits to Sona that she's got a crush on him.
  • Weather Manipulation: Kudelia can manipulate and conjure storms as offensive weapons.

One of Izuku's middle school classmates, she is, unknown to most people, a devil, and part of Kudelia Dantalion's Peerage as her Bishop. She also has a big crush on Izuku, one that only he does not know about. Joins U.A.'s Hero Course by taking part in the Entrance Exam, but ends up in Class 1-B.

Due to her human heritage, she has a Quirk, "Spearfinger", which allows her to enlarge and toughen up her nails enough they can cut through metal.

  • Because You Were Nice to Me: One of the reasons she fell in love with Izuku was that, when she once broke down out of school over the reminder of not having a family, he took her to a coffee shop and spoke with her to get her out of her funk.
  • Broken Bird: Before meeting Izuku, she was a wreck because Sieg murdered her parents apparently right in front of her, to the point that if Kudelia hadn't taken her as a favor to her mother, she believes that she'd probably be on the streets, and she needed to be reminded to eat and go to school on occasion. She's more upbeat now, but talking about what happened to them briefly reduces her to a sobbing wreck.
  • Cannot Spit It Out: She's been crushing on Izuku for years, but she is unable to confess her feelings to him out of shyness... until she takes the plunge after the fight with Stain and gives him The Big Damn Kiss.
  • Clark Kent Outfit: Her school uniform hides quite an impressive bust.
  • Covert Pervert:
    • When Izuku accidentally rubs his head on her boobs, she admits (to herself) that she really enjoyed it.
    • After hearing Saji's "dream" to get Sona pregnant, her reaction implies that she wouldn't mind if Izuku got her pregnant.
    • When she sees a picture of a shirtless Izuku she's really appreciative, and faints when she hears how "big" he is.
    • Waits in front of the bathroom Izuku is showering in so she can see him wet and shirtless.
  • Goggles Do Something Unusual: Her mask has built-in lenses to compensate for her poor eyesight in costume.
  • Half-Human Hybrid: Her father was human, which is why she has a Quirk.
  • I Didn't Mean to Turn You On: As a succubus, Milia's kiss has the power to induce great arousal in whoever she kisses. When she gives Izuku The Big Damn Kiss in Chapter 47, it's only their classmates interrupting them that prevents things from escalating too far.
  • Navel-Deep Neckline: Her Hero costume shows a rather impressive amount of cleavage, going down to her navel.
  • Only Friend: At their middle school, she was pretty much Izuku's one friend.
  • Shout-Out: Her Quirk is similar to Lust's power while her hero costume takes cues from Morrigan Aensland and Wiz.
    • The physical description of her given in chapter one (as well as the image shown above) seems to be based heavily (apart from the glasses) on Kurumu Kurono, another succubus girl who can enlarge her nails into claws and is part of a newspaper club.
  • Wolverine Claws: Her Quirk allows her to enlarge her nails and use them as weapons.

  • A-Cup Angst: She does not react well to Brandon Black calling her "flat chest."
  • Meaningful Name: Like the Bungo Stray Dogs character, she shares a name with Alexandre Dumas, the creator of The Three Musketeers. Her Sacred Gear creates three spectral-like fighters she has nicknamed Aramis, Athos, and Porthos.
  • Shout-Out: A rather obscure and unintentional one to Jesmon, as her Sacred Gear is similar to his ability.

Species Human

U.A. Class Status: 1-A Hero Class

Vain, flamboyant, and extremely eccentric, Aoyama is a student of French ancestry whose Quirk, "Navel Laser", allows him to fire powerful laser beams from his belly button. However, continuous use of this Quirk is liable to damage his insides.

  • Agent Peacock: He loves to pose and is prone to flamboyant behavior.
  • Awesome, but Impractical: His Quirk can fire powerful laser beams, but firing it hurts him. Going off of canon, it's because it isn't his Quirk.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: Acts in a flamboyant and strange manner.
  • Demoted to Extra: Doesn't make it to the Cavalry Battle due to an earlier cutoff point.
  • Power Incontinence: He needs a special belt to contain the "leaking" of his Quirk.

Behind an alien-like appearance lies an emotional and excitable girl who can produce corrosive liquid through her skin thanks to her Quirk, "Acid": she can manipulate the pH and viscosity of the fluid, but going too far can damage her skin.

  • Acid Attack: Her Quirk. She can control the pH and viscosity of the fluid she secretes from her skin, meaning it can be highly acidic and thick or barely acidic and slippery.
  • Amazing Technicolor Population: Her skin is bright pink as a result of acid buildup.
  • Color Character: Pink as her appearance and hero name (the second one anyway) makes abundantly clear.
  • Covert Pervert:
    • Wouldn't mind destroying her clothes to get out of Todoroki's ice, thus giving everyone in the stadium a clear look at her body... if Mineta wasn't there to perv on her.
    • She giggles like a madwoman upon seeing a picture of a shirtless Izuku, shouts and desperately begs Ibara and Ochako to tell her Izuku's size after she learns they saw him and straight up drools and bleeds when she learns how "big" he is, with the narration making it really clear what's going through her mind.
  • Cute Monster Girl: An attractive, female humanoid... something.
  • Genki Girl: She's cheerful and emotional.
  • Required Secondary Powers: She has an acquired resistance to acid, but she is not immune to it.
  • The Tease: Likes teasing Izuku, mainly by glomping him and pressing her body against his.

A young girl whose strange appearance is caused by her Quirk, "Frog", which allows her to do pretty much anything a frog can, including jump quite long distances, swim with extreme agility, and extend her tongue like a flexible steel cable.

    Iida Tenya

Iida Tenya

Quirk: Engine

The scion of the Iida family of Heroes, he's incredibly uptight and has the highest expectations for himself and his peers. He and Izuku get off on the wrong foot when they get into a spat just before the U.A. Entrance Exam, but they become friends when classes start. His Quirk, "Engine", gives him literal engines in his legs that grant him Super-Speed.

  • Big Brother Worship: He admires his older brother Tensei as the ideal Hero and wants to follow in his footsteps. Izuku notes that it's similar to how Rias views her brother, though she's more annoyed by her brother's antics.
  • Character Tics: His tendency of robotically moving his arms to get a point across remains.
  • The Comically Serious: As in canon so is he here. Though sometimes his over-seriousness does come off as grating rather than comedic.
  • Demoted to Extra: Downplayed. While he's still an important secondary character, he's not as close to Izuku as in canon.
  • Heroic Build: He's especially tall and broad-shouldered for his age, having trained for years to become a Hero as the latest in the Iida family line.
  • Heroic Lineage: His family has been in the Hero business for generations and is famous for their Super-Speed.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Momo defeats him by creating an oil slick, which he hits so fast that, by the time he can stop, he's out of bounds.

    Kaminari Denki - Chargebolt

Kaminari Denki - Chargebolt

Quirk: Electrification

Species: Human

U.A. Class Status: 1-A Hero Class

Click here to see his hero costume

Energetic, somewhat dim-witted, and slightly perverted, he wields the Quirk "Electrification", which lets him emit high amounts of electricity near him, but he can barely wield it properly, and going over his limit backfires on him by temporarily rendering him an idiot.

  • Amazingly Embarrassing Parents: His mother is the Pro Hero Thundershock. During his internship with her, she spent a good time fretting over him, and if Hyde is to be trusted, revealed several embarrassing secrets about her son. And, during Parents' Day, she waved at him so hard that people around her had to jump away to avoid getting hit.
  • Demoted to Extra: He isn't recruited by Todoroki in the Cavalry Battle and thus does not advance to the third round.
  • Elemental Hair Colors: Blond-haired and lightning-focused.
  • Failed a Spot Check: One of the only three students who didn't know of Todoroki's gender before the Sports Festival.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Is jealous of Izuku because of how many beautiful girls are attracted to him, and demands to know how he does it.
  • Meaningful Name: His first name means "electricity" and his last name means "lightning".
  • Shock and Awe: His Quirk lets him emit intense amounts of electricity, but he can't control where it goes, it's mostly limited to an area around him, and his brain is short-circuited if he goes overboard.

Class 1-A's friendliest and most Hot-Blooded member, he is always working to become 'manlier' and a better hero. His Quirk, "Hardening", allows him to make his body more resistant to any type of attack.

  • Bash Brothers: Develops this dynamic with Tetsutetsu due to their similar Quirks.
  • Boring, but Practical: His Quirk just makes his skin incredibly hard and resistant, but given that Hero, fights tend to get close and personal, it is useful.
  • Fiery Redhead: A redhead who is one of the most excitable members of the class.
  • Nice Guy: He is friendly to everyone, even Bakugo, who constantly blows him off.

    Liana Kozuki - Crossbone

Liana Kozuki - Crossbone

An intelligent and serious student. Her Quirk, "Demonic Bone", allows her to grow, create, control, and alter the bones in her arms, using them to create weapons and shields.

  • The Ace: Is easily one of the most skilled and intelligent students in 1-A, comes in second on the test on the first day after Momo, and reaches third place in the Sports Festival. It comes having Zero and Guren, two high-ranking Pro Heroes, as parents, apparently.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: Is able to figure out that Izuku's "Dragon Force" power isn't a Quirk based on a few context clues (such as Aizawa being unable to erase it) and Izuku calling it a 'power'.
  • Blessed with Suck: Chapter 35 reveals that using her Quirk hurts every single time, and her arms are covered in faint scars from using it. Chapter 37 later reveals that overusing her Quirk causes her arms to stiffen and lock up.
  • Book Worm: Is often reading a book before class starts.
  • Bust-Contrast Duo: Liana is a lot more reserved than her outgoing sister.
  • Covered in Scars: They're faint and only visible up close, but Liana's arms are covered in them from using her Quirk.
  • Covert Pervert: While she was mad at first after Izuku accidentally groped her, she later realizes that she kind of liked it. When she later sees a picture of Izuku shirtless, she tries and fails to look away, and learning how "big" he is makes her stutter as she tries to process it.
  • Crush Blush: Blushes when she realizes that she thinks that Izuku is cute.
  • Cuteness Proximity: Turns out the daughter of Lelouch and Kallen loves cute things. A trip to Disneyworld had her see Eri, in a porg costume, with a Stitch plushie and pink mouse ears. Liana's self-control didn't even last ten seconds.
  • Everyone Can See It: Tries to deny to the other girls in Chapter 39 that she has a crush on Izuku, saying that her feelings aren't anything more than finding him attractive. They aren't remotely buying it.
  • Heroic Lineage: It's implied a few times that her parents are rather well-known in the hero community.
    • Chapter 33 reveals that her parents are the fourth and fifth rated heroes, Zero and Guren.
  • If It's You, It's Okay: Although she was initially mad when Izuku accidentally groped her during their fight, she wasn't nearly as mad as she would have been if someone else, like Mineta, had done it, and even admits to herself later that she kind of liked it.
  • I'm Taking Her Home with Me!: As stoic as she tries to be, seeing Eri wearing a porg costume triggers this reaction from her.
  • Lamarck Was Right: Her father's Quirk allows him to control those close to him via their bones, while her mother's allows her to transform her left arm into a demon's that can generate heat energy that melts or burns whatever it touches, so Liana can grow, create, control, and alter the bones in her arms.
  • Large Ham: Inherited this trait from her father. Just look at how she greeted Iida during the Heroes Vs Villains Exercise.
Liana: "Took you long enough, hero. The stage has been set and the act has already started. This is the end!"
  • Mundane Utility: Her bone spurs can be used to avoid the press via stealthily pole vaulting over fences to avoid them.
  • Nerves of Steel: She apparently undergoes a lot of pain whenever she uses her Quirk.
  • Not So Above It All: Cynthia can make her a lot more flustered than she normally presents herself out of embarrassment.
  • Only Sane Man: She's one of the few to point out how suspect the pervert trio's "reminder" of a supposed cheerleading contest none of the girls has actually heard about before is. Unfortunately, the other girls overpower her before she can check with the teachers.
  • Secret-Keeper: She's keeping her thoughts on Izuku's "power" a secret.
    • Secret Secret-Keeper: Turns out Liana knew about the supernatural world, thanks to her parents being friends with an immortal witch.
  • Smart People Play Chess: Offers to teach Izuku how to play chess, and a later chapter has them playing together. Given who her father is, a fondness for chess was hardly unexpected.
  • Tsundere: Denies having any romantic interest in Izuku, but it is obvious she's more than just attracted to him.

1-A's tallest member, he is intimidating but quite friendly. His Quirk, "Dupli-Arms", gives him six arm-shaped tentacles that can replicate any part of his body into them. Always wears a mask for personal reasons.

  • Animal Motifs: He is compared to octopi due to his Quirk.
  • Combat Tentacles: Uses them to replicate parts of his body.
  • Cool Mask: The lower half of his face is always covered by a sort of ninja mask.
  • Creepy Good: His appearance seems quite creepy, but he is one of Class 1-A's nicest students.
  • Gentle Giant: He is the tallest Class 1-A student, and also one of the nicest.
  • Multi-Armed and Dangerous: Not only does he have six arms, but he can also transform those arms into other body parts like mouths, ears, or eyes.
  • Sleeves Are for Wimps: Justified as his Dupli-arms Quirk makes it impossible for him to wear anything with sleeves as such his uniform is modified specifically to accomidate this.

    Sero Hanta - Cellophane

A cheery guy whose Quirk, "Tape", allows him to produce reams of an ultra-strong tape-like material from protrusions on his elbows.

  • Demoted to Extra: Due to an earlier cutoff point Sero does not make it to the Cavalry Battle round.
  • Duct Tape for Everything: His Quirk is this. He can use it to swing around Spiderman-style, trap enemies with it, and many other possibilities.

    Tokoyami Fumikage - Tsukuyomi

Class 1-A's resident Chuunibyou, his head makes him look like a raven. His Quirk, "Dark Shadow", manifests as a shadowy monster that inhabits his body, and which he can summon to fight on his behalf.

  • Chuunibyou: He usually speaks in antiquated speech patterns.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: His Quirk is a living shadow and he looks like a blackbird, but he is definitely on the side of good.
  • Demoted to Extra: He isn't recruited by Izuku in the cavalry battle and thus does not advance to the third round.

    Todoroki Shoto - Snowflare

Todoroki Shoto/Shoko - Snowflare

Quirk: Half-Cold, Half-Hot

Species: Human

U.A. Class Status: 1-A Hero Class

One of 1-A's two recommended students and the son of the Number Two Hero, Endeavor. His Quirk, "Half-Cold and Half-Hot", lets him emit incredible ice from his right side and searing flames from his left. However, he has vowed to never use his flames as a form of rebellion against his father, who raised him for the sole purpose of surpassing All Might. "He" is actually a girl, but for some reason presents herself as a boy.

  • Abusive Parents: He hates his father with a burning passion for the Training from Hell he put him through and the heaps of abuse and neglect he heaped on his wife and other children.
  • The Ace: Todoroki boasts the highest raw power of anyone in Class 1-A and is one of the two students who got in via recommendation. This makes Sona seriously consider recruiting Todoroki.
  • Ambiguous Gender Identity: In-Universe Endeavor can only make an educated guess as to why she chose to attend school as a boy (though he did inform the teachers), and when her gender is exposed at the Sports Festival some of the spectators wonder if she's trans, or if she simply prefers Cross Dressing, although seeing how she still calls herself using female identifiers, such as calling herself Endeavor's daughter, it seems to lean into the latter. After the internships, she begins changing in the female's locker room, although like when she changed in the male's she waits until everyone is gone before doing so.
  • An Ice Person: Out of spite for his father, he only uses this part of his Quirk. Even then, he can do a lot of things with it (such as increasing his mobility with ice slides) and is one of the two students in 1-A to get in by recommendation.
  • Astonishingly Appropriate Appearance: His fire comes out of his red-haired left side and his ice comes out of his white-haired right side.
  • Broken Ace: He's possibly the most powerful Class 1-A student, skilled and intelligent, but thanks to his father he has No Social Skills and a lot of emotional baggage.
  • Combo Platter Powers: Can control both ice and fire, although he refuses to use the latter for personal reasons. Izuku gets her to begin using her fire during the tournament final.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Between his abusive father and the incident that gave him his scar, it's easy to say that Shoto has this cornered.
  • Female Misogynist: Downplayed, but Endeavor believes that her decision to attend U.A. as a boy is because the incident with her mother caused her to develop a fear and dislike of other girls, and a desire to not be seen as female herself. She's better than she was before, but for a while, she wasn't even comfortable around her own sister.
  • Freudian Slip: Let's slip that she's a girl when she uses the word "daughter" when describing the incident that scarred her face to Izuku.
  • Gender Flip: Chapter 35 reveals that Shoto is actually a girl.
  • Innocent Fanservice: Has no problem with undoing her top to show Izuku her gender, and barely reacts when she gets exposed at the end of the tournament final.
  • Named by the Adaptation: Shoto goes by an actual hero name in this story, choosing to be called Snowflare.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: Subverted; apparently, almost no one (Mineta, Kaminari, and Izuku excluded) in 1-A was fooled by her disguise, seeing how the clues left behind in Foreshadowing in the main page were just too obvious to ignore.
  • Sacrificed Basic Skill for Awesome Training: Endeavor put Shoto through Training from Hell ever since his Quirk manifested, which has put him in the running for Class 1-A's most powerful student, but as a consequence, he is socially stunted to a strong degree.
  • Scars Are Forever: The one over his left eye has been there for a decade already.
  • Strong and Skilled: His superb control over his ice makes him a tough enemy - as the villains attacking him during the USJ incident learned.
  • Sweet Polly Oliver: For unknown reasons, she masquerades as a boy at U.A., although the teachers know her real gender. As does most of 1-A - the only ones that didn't know were Izuku, Kaminari, and Mineta.

A bubbly and cheerful girl whose Quirk, "Invisibility", renders her entire body permanently invisible. She is usually seen as a set of seemingly floating clothes — or in the case of her hero costume, just a pair of floating gloves and shoes. Because of this, she often jokes about her condition and can get away with states of undress no visible human could dream of trying in public.

    Bakugo Katsuki

Bakugo Katsuki

Quirk: Explosion

Species: Human

U.A. Class Status: 1-A Hero Class

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bakugo.png

Izuku's former Childhood Friend and long-time bully. Bakugou has it all: athleticism, great grades, and an extremely powerful Quirk called "Explosion", which lets him turn the sweat his hands expel into nitroglycerin, allowing him to create explosions at will. His genius is only matched by his ego and fiery temper, refusing to let anyone else top him as he sets out to become the Number One Hero.

  • The Ace: He has it all: the brains, the athleticism, and the Quirk needed to get into the best Hero school in the country. Too bad he doesn't have the personality to match.
  • Animal Motifs: Dogs, a particularly short tempered one. Monoma has referred to him as an angry Pomeranian and Yukichi Fukuzawa compared him to a mad dog who can only focus on one thing at a time.
  • Belligerent Sexual Tension: The constant arguing between him and Mittelt, which includes copious amounts of swearing has both Azazel and Izuku wondering when they found their soulmate.
  • The Bully: He was Izuku's main bully for most of their lives.
  • Cluster Bleep-Bomb: Mei activates a censor "baby" during their fight, and this is predictably the result.
  • Demoted to Extra: Downplayed relatively speaking, as while Katsuki is still a part of Izuku's homeroom and is shows up frequently, the crossover elements and various instances of Ascended Extra happen to make more people just as important to Izuku as he is if not more so.
  • Giver of Lame Names: Apart for his penchant to nickname people based on their appearance or their Quirks, he's this in regards to his own Hero name, since he's unable to see how terrible his suggestions ("King Explosion Murder" and "Lord Explosion Murder") are.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: He's prone to exploding (literally and metaphorically) whenever someone says something minimally unflattering about him. After he tries to attack Mei after she defeats him by ring out during the Sports Festival Arc, Nezu makes it a point to tell him that he has to see Hound Dog to work on his anger issues, and if he attacks another student outside of training one more time, he's going to be expelled.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Mei defeats him because he's going so fast when she traps him in a capture net that he ends up going out of bounds.
  • I Resemble That Remark!: He answers to Kirishima's comment that he's usually screaming "DIE!" and glaring at people (as opposed to how relatively calm and rational he's acting) by screaming "DIE!" and glaring at him.
  • It's All About Me: He wholeheartedly believes that the world turns around him, resorts to Insane Troll Logic to attempt to make things be about him and gets easily punctured whenever someone else gets the glory.
  • Karmic Butt-Monkey: Not to the degree of Mineta or Kaminari, but he doesn't have the best track record in the story. He always gets 5th place whenever there's a performance contest, almost dies when Freed shoots him, fails to defeat Motojiro Kaji and has to suffer Yosano's treatment, Azazel uses him as a guinea pig for his Sacred Gear and Quirk research, and gets left out of the peace conference.
  • Near-Death Experience: He nearly dies when Freed Sellzen shoots him several times but is saved in the nick of time by a mysterious man, later revealed to be Azazel, that heals his injuries. This experience is why he told Izuku "he knows".
  • The Nicknamer: Since he doesn't really bother remembering people's names, he gives them nicknames (usually insulting) based on either their appearance or Quirk. He can't even remember Izuku's real name when prompted, even though he's known him pretty much since they were born.
  • Normal Fish in a Tiny Pond: Bakugo was the absolute top of Aldera Junior High, but coming into U.A., he finds that there are people who are better trained, have equal or greater Quirks or other supernatural abilities camouflaged as such, access to better training resources or all of the above, dropping him down to constantly being fifth-best in tests and assessments.
  • Oh, Crap!: Had a pretty major moment during the Heroes Vs Villains Exercise, both from being bested by Izuku and from seeing what Shoto and Liana can do. However, he swears to surpass them and gain the Number One Hero spot.
  • Secret Secret-Keeper: Learns why Todoroki goes out as a boy when eavesdropping on Izuku and Todoroki's conversation in Chapter 35.
  • Seven Deadly Sins:
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: It's Bakugo, so of course he'll swear whenever he can.
  • Twitchy Eye: Of all the characters he's the most prone to do this due to his short temper.
  • You Remind Me of X: Dazai can't help but see similarities between Bakugo and Chuuya.

1-A's most perverted student and resident Butt-Monkey, he manages to get into the Hero Course thanks to his ability to creatively use his Quirk, "Pop Off", which lets him rip the highly adhesive balls that make his hair and use them in different situations, although overdoing this will cause him to start bleeding.

  • Amusing Injuries: Besides constantly getting jabbed by Kyoka's jacks, he ends up on the receiving end of a Pervert Revenge Mode by Izuku of all people, and gets an arm and a leg in a cast and a mouth so bandaged he can't even speak. Nobody particularly cares or pities his condition.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: It's acknowledged he's genuinely smart and creative with his Quirk, but his perversion means he rarely uses it.
  • Butt-Monkey: Yes. Word of God even states that this is his main role in the story. This even works at a meta-level: the author decided to put to a vote whether or not Mineta would be replaced in 1-A, with the outcome also affecting his status, and the voters decided to keep him in 1-A just to make him suffer.
    • After he attempted to get into Mt Lady's room at night, the heroine forced him to wear a maid costume to do the chores.
  • Composite Character: Mineta gets Motohama's ability to get a girl's measurements by sight.
  • Demoted to Extra: Does not make it to the Cavalry Battle.
  • Failed a Spot Check: One of the only three 1-A students to not realize that Todoroki was female before it came out at the Sports Festival.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: He envies Izuku because of how many beautiful girls are crowding around him, and demands to know how he does it.
  • Hormone-Addled Teenager: He got into heroics because he thought it would help him score with girls, and keeps trying to perv on the other girls in class.
  • Required Secondary Powers: He can make himself immune to the sticky part of his balls.
  • Teeny Weenie: Just to add more salt to his Butt-Monkey status, Kiryū uses her own ability to do this to find that Mineta is not just the smallest in height.

Class 1-B's class representative, a tomboyish girl who often has to keep Monoma in check. Her Quirk allows her to enlarge her hands, with their strength growing proportionally to their size.

  • Adaptational Badass: Was just a human with a decently powerful Quirk in canon. Here, she has a Sacred Gear and is a Half-Human Hybrid daughter of the Asmodeus bloodline.
  • Adaptation Species Change: Is a pure human in canon. Here, she's a half-devil, and the daughter of a member of the Asmodeus clan.
  • Alone with the Psycho: During the internships, she's working with the Boxing Hero: Thunder Fist/Sanada Akihiko, and the two are dragged into the Hosu incident after a Nomu crashes into their train. She breaks off at one point to help some civilians, allowing Lailah to drag her into an alley and attack. Upon discovering she's likely a Half-Human Hybrid with sealed memories, Lailah is ecstatic to note she now has as long as she wants to try and make Itsuka "remember"... painfully.
  • Badass Biker: Itsuka's Turbo Cestus, when in Balance Breaker mode, takes the form of an armored motorcycle.
  • Blood Knight: During her fight with Mirko in the final test, she finds out that she's acquired a love of fighting.
  • Covert Pervert: Has an "interesting" reaction when she innocently pokes Izuku's chest and realizes just how ripped he is from his training. Later, although she reacts better upon seeing a picture of him shirtless, hearing how "big" he is leads to her having a lot of dirty thoughts.
  • Curb Stomp Cushion: Her fight against Shoto is this. Itsuka does get immobilized from the ice but she did successfully attack Shoto in comparison to the other fights.
  • Disappeared Dad: Her father died in a fire some years before the story.
  • Dope Slap: Her favorite method (in the form of a karate chop) to keep Monoma in check.
  • Fake Memories: Chapter 47 implies that her memories have been altered, with her having a negative reaction to the name "Asmodeus" with no clear reason why.
  • Half-Human Hybrid: It is heavily implied that she has a connection to the supernatural.
    • She mentions getting chills when going near shrines or churches - a sign of negative reactions to Holy elements.
    • During the attack on Hosu, Lailah attacks her and draws blood, which lets her notice that she's not entirely human, and Lailah's Light Spear causes Kendo to instinctively attempt to get away.
    • When Lailah triggers the devils' weakness to the name of God, Itsuka reacts the same way as Milia and Izuku.
    • She's eventually revealed to be a half-devil, who's had her memories and devil powers sealed away, as well as her Sacred Gear.
  • Interplay of Sex and Violence: This is how she awakens to her inheritance as a member of the Asmodeus Clan. Being associated with the Deadly Sin of Lust, the fight with Ryukyu and Miruko causes her devil blood to fully awaken, making her even more lustful and induces it to others around her, to the point that everyone involved in that part of the final exams found themselves aroused.
  • Lust: Her devil inheritance as a member of Asmodeus Clan gives her a trait that makes her more lustful. While it is triggered by her bloodlust, it soon becomes obvious that any kind of lust will do the same - which she proves by grabbing Izuku and French-kissing him.
  • Missing Mom: She has no memories of her mother at all. It's later revealed that her mother Lasha sealed her devil powers and Sacred Gear to protect her, but she herself was captured and put under control of the Old Satan Faction. The Old Satans attempt to use Lasha against Itsuka, but Lasha instead saves Itsuka via Heroic Sacrifice.
  • Power Limiter: Whoever messed with her memories also sealed away her Devil abilities and Sacred Gear. The latter seal is undone by Mizu.
  • Related in the Adaptation: She's a half-devil here, and a member of the Asmodeus clan, making her a distant relative of the Old Satan Faction member Creuserey Asmodeus, something he isn't pleased about due to possessing Fantastic Racism towards half-devils: it's all but said that he was the one who tried to kill Itsuka and her mom, and wants to finish the job now that he knows she's alive.
  • Roaring Rampage of Revenge: After her mother suffers an almost mortal injury saving her from Creuserey's attack due to Itsuka inadvertently damaging the method that he was using to control her, Itsuka unlocks Balance Breaker, tears her uncle apart, and then spends the next couple minutes absolutely pummeling his minions.
  • Shut Up, Hannibal!: Delivers one to Creuserey for his self-righteous attitude.
Itsuka: You keep going on and on about how you're worthy to rule. About how you deserve to lead the devils. But you're not worthy or deserving. You're nothing more than a spoiled, annoying, overgrown, whiny little brat! Having a temper tantrum because you lost your oh-so-precious royal privileges and birthright. You're not even using your own power! You're just borrowing from someone stronger because you've been coddled your whole life!
    Creuserey: You dare…!
Itsuka: I dare because you're so damn pathetic! And I'm going to take. You. DOWN!
  • Team Mom: Class 1-B's class representative, and for the most part in charge of making sure they behave.
  • Weak, but Skilled: She is a skilled fighter whose Quirk can also pack a powerful punch yet she truly had no idea how dangerous Momo was and unknown to Itsuka herself, while Momo is holding back, she won against a powerful Fallen Angel and Rias' Queen. Yet in context of what is now revealed about her...

  • Covert Pervert: She's certainly kept an eye on Izuku, judging by what she says when revealing her crush.
  • Fangirl: Of the tokusatsu genre. She begins to crush on Izuku because his Balance Breaker looks like it came out of Ultraman.

  • Lost in Translation: Having lived for most of her life in the United States, her Japanese is poorer than that of her classmates, though she tends to do okay when she's calm. This allows her to notice something's going on when she hears Izuku and Milia speaking in perfect English due to their Devil gift of tongues, while the others obviously heard them talk in Japanese. She's made marked improvements when she makes her first post-Sports Festival appearance.

  • Demoted to Extra: During the Sports Festival he does not advance past the Cavalry Battle segment.
  • Meaningful Name: "Tetsu" means steel.note
  • Who Names Their Kid "Dude"?: His class outright calls his parents cruel for his name.

  • Covert Pervert: Mentally notes that she wouldn't mind sharing Izuku with Rias and the others, giggles like a madwoman after seeing a picture of Izuku shirtless, and when she learns how "big" Izuku is her eyes become wide and clouded with a Nosebleed.
  • Man of Kryptonite: Her Quirk is perfect to counter Stain's, as because her body is designed to come apart, knives can't really do any damage to her, preventing Stain from cutting her and getting her blood to paralyze her.
  • My Suit Is Also Super: Her hero costume incorporates her cells into it which allows it to split off like her body.

Kiryū Aika

Quirk: N/A

Species: Human

U.A. Class Status: 1-I, 1-J, or 1-K Business Class

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/aika_kiriyuu.jpg

One of Izuku and Bakugo's former classmates, she is now enrolled in U.A.'s Business Course, much to the boys' chagrin. She has the ability to detect the size of a boy's manhood with just a glance, although it is unknown if it is a Quirk or just natural talent.

  • Distaff Counterpart: Since Mineta is a Composite Character with Motohama's ability to scan a girl's measurements, she becomes this to him.
  • The Dreaded: Played for Laughs example. Due to her "ability", to measure a man's... manhood with a single glare, every single boy from her Aldera, and later U.A., is terrified of her. Even Bakugo.
  • The Gadfly: Loves messing with people.
  • Embarrassing Nickname: Subverted. Bakugo calls her "Hentai Glasses". Given her status as a Lovable Sex Maniac, it's fitting and she does not seem to care.
  • Loveable Sex Maniac: Just like in canon. She gave Ibara a book called "101 Saucy Ways To Get The Boy You Want", just for starters.
    • In Chapter 30, after learning that she's the reason Ibara and Ochako decided to use Naked Apron to try and seduce him, Izuku decides that she's worse than Mineta.
    • In Chapter 39 we learn that not only did she give Xenovia the advice that led to her asking to make a baby with Izuku, she told Ibara how "big" he is.
  • Secret Secret-Keeper: Knows that Todoroki is actually a girl, likely thanks to her 'talent'.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Her advice to Xenovia nearly leads to her raping Izuku - although Xenovia's No Social Skills can be partly blamed for that.

    Togata Mirio

An older student from Class 3-B, interning under Sir Nighteye. Has the Quirk "Permeation", which allows him to become intangible for a short period of time at the cost of his senses, and when deactivating it he is shot up towards the nearest surface. All Might offered him One for All, but he turned it down.

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: He is mentioned early in the story, and meets Izuku at the tail end of the spring internship, several months before he did in canon.
  • Breaking the Fellowship: After the debacle with One for All, he chooses to intern with another hero rather than Sir Nighteye.
  • The Ghost: He doesn't show up until Chapter 49, in spite of being mentioned many chapters before.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Despite Izuku not meeting All Might, Mirio still doesn't get One for All, although because he turned it down.
  • Refusal of the Call: All Might offers to pass One for All onto him, but he turns All Might down, wanting to take the position of #1 hero on his own merits, and feeling that, if he accepted All Might's Quirk, he'd become just a copy of All Might. If the story follows canon, this decision will end up saving his life, due to One for All draining the lifeforce out of anyone possessing it while having their own Quirk.

A boy from the U.A. General Studies course, he teams up with Liana, Itsuka, and Ochako during the Cavalry Battle event of the Sports Festival. His Quirk, "Brainwashing", allows him to control anyone who responds to his questions.

  • Fanboy: Is a fan of Zero, and agrees to join Liana's team if she can get him an autograph.
  • "Not So Different" Remark: After Izuku beats him, he admits that he relates to Shinso's desire to be a hero despite everyone else saying that it's impossible.

    Hatsume Mei

Hatsume Mei

Species: Human

Quirk: Zoom

U.A. Class Status: 1-H Support Class

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hatsume_0.png
A Support Course member who loves to make gadgets of all kinds, she enters the story during the Sports Festival, joining Izuku's team during the Cavalry Battle. Her Quirk, "Zoom", gives her the ability to zoom her eyesight to extreme distances and can see up to 5 miles away.
  • Ambiguously Bi: When Izuku, Ibara, and Milia hug her after winning the Cavalry Battle, she blushes and wonders if it could be considered marriage with no distinction as to whom Mei would be marrying. She also blows air kisses at all three of them after winning her fight against Bakugo.
  • Covert Pervert: Altered Izuku's costume so that it has a skintight top and exposes his back, and thus his muscles, presumably for ogling purposes.
  • Irony: Had planned to deliberately lose against Bakugo after showing off her "babies", but his fury causes him to accidentally throw himself out of bounds when he gets caught in a capture net. Then, her fight with Todoroki ends before she can begin her pitching.
  • Mad Scientist: Is really into her gadgets, which she calls her "babies".
  • No Social Skills: She has No Sense of Personal Space and a non-existent brain-to-mouth filter.
  • Shameless Self-Promotion: Openly pitches in her "babies" in the middle of her fight with Bakugo and complains she did not get to do the same when Todoroki freezes her.

    Cynthia Fenette - Water Hazard

Cynthia Fenette

Species: Human

Quirk: Hydro

U.A. Class Status: 2-B Hero Class

Liana's older paternal half-sister in the 2-B Hero Course.

  • Arm Cannon: As part of her Quirk, she has ports on her hands that can shoot water.
  • Blackmail: Says that if Liana doesn't help her and someone named Sakura with something in the future, she'll tell people about Liana's crush on Izuku.
  • Bust-Contrast Duo: She is a lot more outgoing and peppier than her younger, bustier sister.
  • Genki Girl: Is a lot more openly affectionate and energetic than her sister.
  • Making a Splash: Her Quirk allows her to manipulate water molecules and control anything made of water as long as she can maintain concentration.
  • Shout-Out: Her hero name and powers draw from a Ben 10 alien.

A smiling and welcoming U.A. student that has a child-like sense of curiosity, interning under Ryukyu. Her Quirk, "Wave Motion", enables her to release her vitality as energy shockwaves, though they lack speed due to coming out in spirals.

  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: Judging from how fast she switches between topics, she's got the attention span of a fruit fly.
  • Constantly Curious: She asks everything that passes through her head and has no filter about when she might be getting too personal with her questions. She also asks things at such a speed she hardly even hears the answers to the first question.
  • Eating the Eye Candy: Blatantly and openly does this to Izuku, even waiting next to the bathroom so she can see him wet and wearing only a towel.

Ingvild Leviathan

Species: Half Devil

U.A. Class Status: 2-D General Studies Class

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dxd_dx_7_ingvild_leviathan.png

The half-human daughter of the Leviathan family.

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: The most extreme example on the D×D side. The only thing you can say without going into much spoiler territory is that Ingvild is introduced in Shin in canon.
  • Adaptational Nationality: Due to Ingvild being a Norwegian name, she is Norwegian in this fic.
  • It's Personal with the Dragon: Katerea may not be the leader of the Khaos Brigade, but as Ingvild's antagonistic half-sister, the two of them have a massive grudge to settle.
  • Lazy Alias: She goes by "Levathia" to blend in, which is just a rearranging of her last name missing a letter. Rias Face Palms after she realizes her true name.
  • Regretful Traitor: She's an unwilling spy for someone all but said to be Dr. Doom after they woke her up, the necklace she wears actually being a monitoring device that her "benefactor" can remotely trigger to harm if not kill her should she not comply.
  • Shut Up, Hannibal!: Makes it quite clear what she really thinks of Katerea's Motive Rant.
Katerea: Even after all these years, you’ve done little to change, Azazel. You have so much power, but you accept such an…
Ingvild: Imperfect world full of ignorant masses. And we are the only ones who can truly guide them, blah blah blah. Is that about right? I’ve read more original villain speeches from old comic books. Honestly, how can you be so cliché?

U.A. School Faculty and Staff

    Principal Nezu

Nezu

Quirk: High Specs

Species: Unknown Animal

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/principal_3.png

A rare example of an animal possessing a Quirk, Nezu's intelligence eventually allowed him to become the principal of U.A.

  • Crazy-Prepared: After the USJ incident, he secretly installed a second security system completely independent of the main U.A. system. This allows him to see what happened during the Kokabiel fight.
  • The Dreaded: Played for Laughs. Xenovia admits she finds him terrifying.
  • I Know You Know I Know: Is familiar with the devil society. Drops a cackling laugh over the U.A. intercom when Iida ponders if he knows that the school is where the Three Factions Summit is being held.
  • Mix-and-Match Critters: He mixes in body features from several mammals, resulting in a creature whose actual species is a mystery.
  • Secret Secret-Keeper: Strongly suspected that the ORC and company were Devils, the footage of the Kokabiel fight just confirmed it.

    Mizushima Akari - Ryūtō

Mizushima "Mizu" Akari - Ryūtō

Quirk: Plasma Cast

Species: Human

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/image_891.png

A former Japanese Pro Hero, the second youngest in history at 19, and also Ochako's old babysitter. After suffering a devastating injury that forced her out of the Hero career, Ochako's mom suggested she go to Katmandu, where she managed to join Kamar-Taj and became the Sorcerer Supreme's apprentice. She returns to Japan following the theft of several of Kamar-Taj's relics and requests Rias' aid to retrieve them, which allows her to reconnect with Ochako and become her teacher. Deciding to stay in Japan to help Ochako and her friends, she manages to join U.A.'s faculty, where she teaches the students how to fight without their Quirks. Her Quirk, "Plasma Cast", lets her create and control red-orange plasma.

  • The Ace: The second youngest Pro Hero to start their own agency, second to Hawks who did so at 18.
  • Affectionate Nickname: She calls Ochako "Chako", who calls her "Mizu-oneechan".
  • Combo Platter Powers: Her Quirk gives her plasma-based abilities, she's a powerful sorcerer, and her Kamar-Taj relic is a sword that has ice abilities.
  • Cool Sword: Her sword, Yukinoha, makes everything around her turn colder when brought out of its sheath.
  • Cool Teacher: She's a really good teacher, helping her students learn how to fight without their Quirks.
  • Dating Catwoman: Bikou, a member of the Khaos Brigade, turns out to be a former boyfriend of hers.
  • Game-Breaking Injury: Several years before the story, she suffered an injury that forced her into retirement. Chapter 39 reveals that she was a victim of the Hero Killer: Stain.
  • I Need a Freaking Drink: A pretty understandable reaction after finally confronting an imprisoned Stain for how his actions affected her both for good and bad.
  • The Mentor: To Ochako, who is learning the mechanisms of magic through her.
  • Oh, Crap!: A justifiable reaction when she found out that Principal Nezu has a recording of the fight against Kokabiel.
  • Took a Level in Badass: While she was already awesome as a Hero before being forced to retire, learning how to use magic made her a lot more powerful.
  • When All You Have Is a Hammer…: Her class is all about averting this, by teaching hand-to-hand combat should the aspiring heroes find themselves where their Quirks are either useless or unable to be used for various reasons.

    Aizawa Shota - Eraserhead

Aizawa Shota - Eraserhead

Quirk: Erasure

Species: Human

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shouta_aizawa.png

The "Underground" Erasing Hero and homeroom teacher of Class 1-A. While he may be generally apathetic and lazy about things that do not interest him, he has an eye for talent and ingenuity while having zero patience for any student that doesn't take U.A seriously. His Quirk, "Erasure", allows him to nullify others' control over their Quirks just by looking at them. Blinking dispels the effect of his Quirk and using it gives him dry eyes.

  • Adaptational Wimp: Downplayed. While Aizawa himself is not weaker, the addition of non-Quirk powers results in his Erasure becoming more of a Situational Sword.
  • Brutal Honesty: Instead of letting the students believe his threat to expel the student in last place was a ruse, he outright tells them he would have expelled Mineta and even all of them if they didn't show they had potential.
  • Friendly Rivalry: Has one with Vlad, though the latter takes it more seriously than Aizawa.
  • No-Sell: His Quirk doesn't seem to work on Sacred Gears or other supernatural powers.
  • Not So Above It All: When Vlad King suggests that they use the villains invading the U.S.J. to settle an old tie, Aizawa states that now's not the time… before reminding Vlad that he's in the lead at 51, to Vlad's irritation.

    Yagi Toshinori - All Might

Yagi Toshinori - All Might

Quirk: One for All

Species: Human

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/all_might_hero_form_full_body_9.png
The Symbol of Peace
Click here to see his real self post-injury.

Japan's Greatest Hero, the Symbol of Peace, and Izuku's lifelong idol. His true identity is Yagi Toshinori, which only a select few people know. Years prior to the main story, Toshinori suffered an injury that took out most of his internal organs. As a result, he's slowly being unable to continue as a Hero, as such he's begun to look for a successor, becoming a teacher at U.A. to find one.

"One for All", the Quirk he inherited, allows him to stockpile an enormous amount of raw power, allowing him to significantly enhance all of his physical abilities to a superhuman level. This results in unbelievable levels of strength, speed, agility, and durability that make All Might nearly invincible.

  • Broken Ace: He's Japan's Number One Hero, but for the past five years he has suffered an injury that severely restrains his ability to be a hero. He is currently seeking a successor that can take the mantle of One for All - and has his sight set on Izuku whom he succeeds in Passing the Torch to.
  • In Spite of a Nail: He passes One For All to Izuku even though the latter wasn't involved in the Sludge Villain Incident.
  • Secret Secret-Keeper: Strongly suspected that the ORC was full of Devils, having been approached by so many that he's learned to spot them. He didn't know for certain until Nezu recorded their fight against Kokabiel, though, and he reveals his knowledge to Izuku after giving him One for All.

Other Pro Heroes

    Endeavor

Todoroki Enji - Endeavor

Quirk: Hellflame

Species: Human

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/endeavor_anime_profile.png
Flame Hero

Todoroki's father, and the Number Two Pro-Hero, who has deep envy of All Might.

  • Adaptational Nice Guy: He seems to have started to realize how badly his ambitions have affected his family earlier than canon, given his talk with Izuku before his and Shoko's match. He also was the one who talked with Shoko's teachers so she could go to school as a boy.
  • Ambiguous Situation: During the Hosu fight, he references the topic of 'human' opponents, though it isn't clear at the point in time if he is aware of the supernatural or if he's referring to robots.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: Although he's a bit abrasive about it, he has a legitimate point not only about how Shoko not using her flame is holding her back, but that she cannot hide her true gender forever. Indeed, not long after he talks to Izuku about this, Clothing Damage from the last explosive clash of Izuku and Shoko's match exposes her in public, and most of 1-A had already figured it out (save Mineta and Kaminari, ironically enough), having kept quiet out of politeness.
  • Open-Minded Parent: Downplayed, as although Endeavor believes that Shoto will be unable to hide her gender forever and thinks she should "stop pretending soon", he respects her decision to pass off as one enough to inform people like school officials to refer to her as one.

    Gran Torino

Sorahiko Torino - Gran Torino

Dragoon Hero
Click here to see her dragon form

One of Japan's Top Ten Heroes. She is the mentor to Nejire and later to Izuku and Milia.

  • Adaptation Species Change: Chapter 40 reveals that her mother is Tiamat, and Word of God implies that she does have some human ancestry, although exactly how much has yet to be known.
  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Ryukyu is one of the many heroes who sent an internship offer to Izuku after the Sports Festival, who ultimately chooses her.
  • Amazingly Embarrassing Parents: She's embarrassed by how Tiamat tells Izuku he can pay Ddraig's debt by becoming Ryuko's mate.
  • Commonality Connection: Izuku chose her because of his own dragon abilities.
  • The Dreaded: Due to her mother being Tiamat, she indirectly serves as this to Ddraig, because he once borrowed certain treasures from the former only to lose them in a fight with Albion.
  • Eating the Eye Candy: She really enjoyed seeing Izuku coming out the shower with nothing but a towel on. She blames her "stupid dragon instincts" for it.
  • My Biological Clock Is Ticking: Played With. It's her mother Tiamat who wants Izuku to be Ryuko's mate, much to the embarrassment of them both. Although, it's not like she hadn't noticed how much of an eye candy he is.
  • Not So Above It All: Not even she is invulnerable to the Midoriya charm.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: She might get exasperated at Mirko's antics and even trade insults, but it'c clear they're friends.

    Hawks

Takami Keigo - Hawks

Quirk: Fierce Wings

Species: Human

Wing Hero
One of Japan's Top Ten Heroes and Tokoyami's mentor during Internship week.

    Mirko

Usagiyama Rumi - Mirko

Quirk: Rabbit

Species: Human

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rumi_usagiyama_anime_action_2_4.png
Rabbit Hero

One of Japan's Top Ten Heroes. An aggressive young woman, she's a powerful pro who prefers to work alone. Her Quirk, "Rabbit", grants her the attributes and abilities of a rabbit, namely incredible leg strength.

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: In canon she appears well after the Kamino incident. Here she appears during the Internships arc.
  • All Amazons Want Hercules: She started to crush hard on Izuku after seeing his display of badassery during the Sports Festival m
  • Blood Knight: Loves a good fight. From the moment she crosses paths with Izuku during her visit to Ryukyu Agency she challenges him to fight, only letting him go when Tiamat appears.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: She is always on the receiving end of it when she challenges Tiamat. According to Nejire, her personal record before a defeat is five seconds.
  • The Immodest Orgasm: Ryukyu mentions Rumi is very loud while "relieving her stress" and she speaks Izuku's name while doing so.
  • Kick Chick: Considering her rabbit-based quirk, of course this is a given.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: Miruko is the Tomboy to Ryukyu's Girly Girl.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: With Ryukyu. They are best friends, but that doesn't stop them from being snarky with each other, specially when it comes to Izuku.

    Zero

Lelouch Lamperouge - Zero

Quirk: Bone Control

Species: Human

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lelouch_lamperouge.png

One of Japan's Top Ten Heroes and rated the one who most resembles a villain. The fourth highest-rated hero in Japan. Liana and Cynthia's father.

  • Action Dad: Having two teenage daughters has not stopped him from being as high ranked as he is.
  • Adaptational Heroism: Being a (scary) hero instead of a terrorist/freedom fighter does that to your reputation.
  • Adaptational Name Change: Somewhat - since the Holy Britannian Empire doesn't exist in this universe, it can be inferred that Lamperouge is his actual last name, instead of being an alias.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: Has his canon intelligence on top of his Quirk, making him easily one of the smartest Pro Heroes around.
  • Combat Pragmatist: Has no qualms over using a pistol in combat rather than just using his Quirk.
  • The Dreaded: Discovering that his team has to capture Zero causes Rin to go from believing they can do it to being completely certain that they have a snowball's chance in hell.
  • Geek Physique: Something carried over from canon is that Lelouch has next to no physical strength, Kallen recounting how in High School he struggled to lift a box of foam pillows that Nina could easily carry, and that, like in canon, Milly managed to outrun him in a frilly dress. All he can do is weakly protest that he's gotten stronger when Kallen reminds him.
  • No Hero to His Valet: He might be the fourth ranked Hero, but that doesn't mean his wife won't laugh at him for his less-than-stellar moments in the past.
  • Not Quite Flight: He can use his Quirk on himself to allow him to do things like float over obstacles.
  • People Puppets: His "Bone Control" Quirk allows him to control the bones of anyone within twenty meters of him, letting him to jerk them around like puppets.
  • Terror Hero: He may have undergone Adaptational Heroism, but Lelouch is still scary as hell. He's been rated as the Hero who most resembles a villain.
  • Twerp Sweating: When he realizes that Izuku might be interested in his daughter Liana, he tells him to speak with all the girls he is actually interested in to speak of the situation - and warns him that, if he breaks Liana's heart, there will be no place he can hide.

    Guren

Kallen Kozuki-Lamperouge - Guren

Quirk: Demonic Claws

Species: Human

One of Japan's Top Ten Heroes, Liana's mother, and the fifth highest-rated hero in Japan.

Armed Detective Agency

    Dazai Osamu

Dazai Osamu

Sacred Gear: No Longer Human

Species: Human

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/image_9853.png

A member of the Armed Detective Agency. An extremely strange young man, he hopes to someday find a beautiful woman to commit suicide with. His Sacred Gear, "No Longer Human", allows him to nullify other magic through physical contact.

  • Anti-Magic: He can nullify magic by touching it.
  • Armor-Piercing Response: When he hears Bakugo's belief that a hero is supposed to be the strongest, he points out that by that logic, All Might shouldn't be the Number One Hero, since Endeavor has defeated more villains than the Symbol of Peace. This really shakes Bakugo's worldview.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: Was able to figure out that Izuku and Ibara were at a crime scene simply from mentioning a priest being involved and seeing the soles of Izuku's shoes, which matched footprints that were found.
  • Cloud Cuckoo Lander: Saying that he's weird is like saying the Pacific Ocean has water.
  • Establishing Character Moment: He's introduced in the story trying to commit suicide by jumping off a building and being disappointed when he's saved.
  • The Gadfly: He regularly tricks Kunikida into writing down something absurd into his notebook only to reveal seconds later he was lying to him.
  • Spanner in the Works: Became one in the fic's version of the Diabolos of the Old School Building arc in two ways. First by getting Freed to reveal where Ibara is located and second by using his Sacred Gear to sabotage the transfer ritual.
  • Those Two Guys: With Kunikida.

    Kunikida Doppo

Kunikida Doppo

Sacred Gear: Lone Poet

Species: Human

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/image_7950.png

Dazai's partner. His Sacred Gear, "Lone Poet", enables him to create anything he writes down in his notebook, as long as he understands the object's form and function and it's smaller than the notebook.

  • Berserk Button:
    • Disrupting his timetable is a serious one.
    • Making a fool out of him. Unfortunately for him, Dazai delights in tricking him.
    • Insulting the ADA, as proven when Bakugo calls it a "shitty agency".
  • Schedule Fanatic: He keeps a notebook where he writes down every detail about his daily routine and becomes furious if anything disrupts his timetable.
  • Those Two Guys: With Dazai.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: Even though Dazai seems to make it his mission to mess with him and drive him crazy, they are friends.

    Nakajima Atsushi

Nakajima Atsushi

Species: Human

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/atsushi_anime.png

A recently joined member of the Armed Detective Agency.

  • Adaptational Superpower Change: As Abilities don't exist in this setting, Atsushi's Beast Beneath the Moonlight falls under a different classification. Which one is currently unknown, just that it isn't a Quirk according to Yosano.
  • Nice Guy: He's a pretty friendly guy who receives both Bakugo and Monoma for their internships despite their personalities.
  • Technicolor Eyes: The upper half of his eyes are purple and the other is yellow.
  • You Remind Me of X: He reminds Bakugo of Izuku.

    Edogawa Ranpo

Edogawa Ranpo

Quirk: Ultra Deduction (self-proclaimed)/Quirkless (officially)

Species: Human

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ranpo_anime_0.png

An intelligent and highly praised member of the Agency. He's well-known for his amazing deduction abilities, which he often uses to help the police solve crimes. Convinced that he has a Quirk that he calls "Ultra Deduction," but he really doesn't.

  • Awesomeness by Analysis: His "Ultra Deduction" isn't a Quirk. Ranpo is that good at deduction.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: The reason his coworkers tolerate his laziness and attitude is because he's a true genius when it comes to deduction.
  • Cloud Cuckoo Lander: He's got an incredible skill at deducing things - but doesn't know how to use the train.
  • Eyes Always Shut: Just like in canon. Bakugo even refers to him as "squinty eyes".
  • First-Name Basis: Usually referred to by his given name.
  • Sherlock Scan: His "Quirk". He can quickly scan a crime scene and deduce exactly what happened in a matter of seconds. He can also quickly piece together the solution to nearly any problem, puzzle, or mystery, as long as he has some kind of lead.

    Yosano Akiko

Yosano Akiko

Species: Human

Sacred Gear: Thou Shalt Not Die

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yosano_anime.png

The medic of the Armed Detective Agency. Feared due to her Quirk requiring the patient to be near death before she can heal them.

  • Adaptation Origin Connection: Due to Abilities being changed to Sacred Gears, Thou Shalt Not Die is the Flawed Prototype of Ibara's Twilight Healing.
  • Berserk Button: Absolutely despises people who casually kill others under the pretext of learning the science behind death.
  • The Dreaded: The members of the Armed Detective Agency fear Akiko's healing, as even moderate injuries can't be treated unless she first brings them near death.
  • Harmful Healing: Thou Shalt Not Die might allow Akiko to treat almost any injury, but it only works if the patient is near death. Which is why she carries around a machete, so she can bring about that status and use her power.

Port Mafia

    Mori Ougai

Mori Ougai

Species: Human

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/image_129.png

The boss of the Port Mafia.

  • Comedic Lolicon: He openly admits he only likes girls under twelve.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Proves his chops by easily defeating Raynare through Killing Intent alone!
  • Killing Intent: Use this to intimidate Raynare into submission, leaving her paralyzed in fear. She even later states that she is more afraid of Mori than of Kokabiel.
  • Pragmatic Villainy: The reason he wants to stop Kokabiel from restarting the Great War? A new war would be bad for the Port Mafia's profits.

    Raynare

Raynare

Species: Fallen Angel

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/62047401294.png

A fallen angel who killed Izuku, starting the story. She later defects from the fallen angels and is recruited by Mori, joining the Port Mafia.

  • Adaptational Modesty: She never wears the Stripperific outfit she transformed into in the anime. She merely reveals a pair of black wings like in the original Light Novel and Manga.
  • Berserk Button: When Milia states she thinks Raynare's bust is artificial, Raynare really loses it.
  • Cassandra Truth: Is in denial when Kokabiel reveals that he's her father.
  • Cruel Mercy: Rias spares her partially because, since she went against orders, her own faction is out for her guts as well, and they'll probably be capable of something much worse than anything Rias could do.
  • Enemy Mine: Ends up working along with her previous victims in order to defeat Kokabiel.
  • Pet the Dog: A downplayed case since she keeps it to herself, but she mentally admits to being happy that Kiba was able to finally move on from his Dark and Troubled Past.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Thanks to not manipulating Izuku's emotions as much as she did with Issei in canon, Rias actually shows her mercy.
  • Starter Villain Stays: She survives her canonical fate and becomes a member of Port Mafia.
  • Token Non-Human: She's the only non-human so far who's part of Port Mafia.
  • The Worf Effect: Is this to prove how strong and dangerous Mori is.

     Ozaki Kouyou

Sacred Gear: Golden Demon

Species: Human

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/image_7008.png

A Port Mafia executive whose Sacred Gear, "For the Tainted Sorrow", lets him manipulate gravity.

    Akutagawa Ryuunosuke

Akutagawa Ryuunosuke

Quirk: Rashomon

Species: Human

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/image_9980.png

A feared Mafiosi of the Port Mafia who is wanted by the police. He has a history with Dazai. His Quirk, "Rashomon", turns his coat into a black monster that can rip apart anything, including space. He can also use it to shield himself.

  • Animal Motifs: Dogs. One of his many dog-related nicknames is 'the Rabid Dog of the Mafia' and Rashomon vaguely looks like a wild dog. Ironically, he hates dogs.
  • An Arm and a Leg: Comes close to taking Xenovia's leg and succeeded in taking a part of Izuku's dragon wing.
  • Calling Your Attacks: His Rashomon has at least 5 different techniques, each deadlier than the other.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Implied. He apparently joined the Port Mafia 6 years ago. Before that, he lived in the slums as a 'stray dog' before being found by Dazai, who gave him Training from Hell so bad that he regularly coughed blood during these sessions.
  • The Dreaded: Izuku has an Oh, Crap! when he recognizes him, for good reason.
  • Historical In-Joke:
    • His coughing is a reference to his real counterpart who suffered from pleurisy.
    • His disbelief in God references the real Akutagawa's banal relationship with religion, saying he can believe in the Devil, but not in God.
  • Nay-Theist: Claims to have never believed in God, despite working with a Fallen Angel.
  • Weak, but Skilled: His body is frail and sickly, but his Quirk is terrifyingly versatile. This is evident in how he names his techniques like most Pro Heroes do.

    Higuchi Ichiyou

Higuchi Ichiyou

Quirk: Trajectory Control

Sacred Gear: Unknown

Species: Human

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/image_696.png

Akutagawa's subordinate.

  • Adaptational Badass: In her canon, she hasn't unlocked her Ability yet, but here, while the same is true for her Sacred Gear, she also has a Quirk that lets her alter the trajectory of her bullets.
  • Fights Like a Normal: In the same sense as Eraserhead. She can hold her own against supernatural enemies with just raw firepower.
  • Shout-Out: The author shamelessly admits that her Quirk was based on Takehisa.

    Kajii Motojirō

Kajii Motojirō

Quirk: Immunity to explosions

Species: Human

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kaji_anime.png
Lemon Bomber

A deranged bomber associated with the Port Mafia.

  • Adaptational Badass: In canon his Ability specifically granted him immunity to bombs that were shaped like lemons. Here, his Quirk makes him immune to all explosions.
  • Bring My Brown Pants: Pees himself when he's on the receiving end of Yosano's Thou Shall Not Die.
  • Mad Bomber: It's one of the reasons why he's a famous member of Port Mafia.
  • No-Sell: His Quirk makes him immune to explosions of any kind.

Church Exorcists

    Shidou Irina

Shidou Irina

Quirk: Increased Flexibility

Species: Human

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/irina_new_5025.jpg

A young exorcist affiliated with the Catholic Church who is charged with the recovery of the stolen Excalibur swords. Izuku's childhood friend, she's dismayed to learn that he has become a devil, but is also glad to see that his willingness to become a hero has not been dampened.

  • Adaptational Angst Upgrade: In canon, she wasn't around Kokabiel when he revealed that God Is Dead. In this fic when she was able to continue fighting due to her having Hauteclare, she was.
  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Not Irina herself but her Cool Sword Hauteclere, this sword in canon appears sometime after she became an angel yet it appears during the fight against Kokabiel.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Izuku calls her "Rinchan". Likewise, she calls Izuku "Zuku".
  • Childhood Friends: With Izuku.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: She gets rather jealous in Chapter 54 when she learns that Izuku is dating multiple girls.
  • Combat Pragmatist: She is not above using Izuku's shock at learning she stole his First Kiss to find an opening in their fight.
  • Contortionist: While not outright confirmed, her Quirk gives her a high degree of flexibility.
  • Didn't See That Coming: She is surprised that despite Izuku being a devil he can hold (and by extension wield) Hauteclere without any ill effects.
  • First Kiss: Admits to Izuku in chapter 28 that she stole his first kiss while he was asleep before she left Japan.
  • Girlish Pigtails: Wears her long hair in twin pigtails.
  • Heart Is an Awesome Power: Her Quirk is basically David Shield's Quirk, but giving her extra flexibility over her entire body rather than just her fingers. She puts it to good use as well, like escaping from Lailah's webbing.
  • Refuge in Audacity: When Rias' peerage goes to the airport to say goodbye and the girls are glaring at her when she's asked about the aforementioned First Kiss, she decides to go out with a blaze, snogs Izuku for a full minute while the girls suffer Color Failure and confirm that this was their second kiss before leaving to take her flight.
  • She Is All Grown Up: Izuku did not recognize her when he met her at his home because (a) it had been ten years since they last saw each other and (b) she is most definitely a really pretty girl. Even Inko admits that she had trouble recognizing her at first.
  • Weak, but Skilled: Being more flexible than a normal person isn't a particularly powerful or flashy Quirk, but she makes it work.

    Griselda Quarta

Griselda Quarta

Quirk: Light Spheres

Species: Human

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/griselda2.jpg

A renowned exorcist who travels the world trying to solve problems in which the Church is involved. When her charge Xenovia and her partner Irina are sent to Japan to solve the problem of the theft of the Excalibur swords, she goes along with them to help them and do her best to prevent another war from starting. Though she actually has another reason for going...

  • Adaptation Dye-Job: Of a sort. Her hair color was never revealed in the Light Novels. Here her hair color is green, on the logic that Xenovia had to get the idea for her green fringe from somewhere.
  • Adaptational Early Appearance: In the light novels she's introduced in the short story Love Song to the Reincarnated, which takes place between Volumes 13 and 14. Here she appears during the events of Volume 3.
  • Arch-Enemy: Has one in Lailah, an angel woman with a Spider People Quirk who captured her and tortured her for information, even killing her mentor a la Airachnid with Arcee and Tailgate.
  • Cloudcuckoolander's Minder: Does her best to act like this to Irina and Xenovia, keeping them on track with their mission.
  • Dope Slap: Has no problem in giving this to Xenovia (along with ear pulling) when she starts to stir trouble.
  • Famed In-Story: She is quite famous among the supernatural community.
  • Hypocritical Humor: When she states that Midnight's attire is scandalous, Mizu fires back that hers is not exactly demure.
  • Light 'em Up: Her Quirk lets her create spheres of light that she can detonate like flashbangs with effort.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Reminds Irina and Xenovia that their task is not to confront the devils, and is willing to ask Rias if they can help. She also promises to help Milia make sure that Sieg pays for his murder of her parents.
  • Seen It All: When she hears about a vampire hypnotizing people to make dioramas in New Orleans, she mentions that it's not the oddest thing that she's ever dealt with.
  • You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me!: Griselda was mortified that they find themselves in poverty due to Xenovia and Irina falling for a blatant con.

Stray Exorcists

    Freed Sellzen

Freed Sellzen

Species: Human

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/freed_sellzen___profile_pic_infobox.png

Freed Sellzen is a psychotic exorcist working for the fallen angels.

  • Ax-Crazy: To call him insane is a massive understatement.
  • Blood Knight: Freed may be an exorcist, but he doesn't give a flying crap about God. The only reason he's an exorcist is so he can kill devils (or anyone that tries to stop him, really) and slake his bloodlust.
  • Combat Pragmatist: When a fight begins to go against him, he has no problem in pulling out a handgun and shooting several holes into his enemy, as Bakugo finds out.
  • Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: Akutagawa pierces him multiple times with his blades. It is unknown if he has survived or not.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: The guy can't talk without swearing and saying vulgarities. When he encounters Bakugo it quickly devolves into an insult fight.

    Valper Galilei

Species: Human

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/image_8496.png

Devils

    Sirzechs Lucifer

Sirzechs Lucifer, born Sirzechs Gremory

Species: Devil

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sirzechs_lucifer___profile_pic_infobox.png

Sirzechs Lucifer is one of the Four Great Satans, the leaders of devil-kind, as well as Rias' elder brother.

  • Action Dad: He's the most powerful of the Four Great Satans, making him one of the most powerful devils in existence, and is Millicas's father.
  • Happily Married: He is happily married to Grayfia Lucifuge.
  • Henpecked Husband: Powerful devil or not, anyone who knows them can tell that the one in charge of the household is his wife and Queen Grayfia.
  • I Just Want to Be Normal: Downplayed, but he's thankful to the Midoriyas when they welcome him and Grayfia as normal guests in their house, as opposed to what he would experience in Hell as one of the Four Satans.
  • If You Ever Do Anything to Hurt Her...: Gives Izuku a speech to this regard, saying that he'll have him tortured if he ever breaks Rias' heart. Thankfully, it seems that he was mainly doing it because he'd always wanted to do so, but Rias never showed any serious interest in anyone before Izuku.

    Grayfia Lucifuge

Grayfia Lucifuge

Species: Devil

Role: Queen

Sirzechs' Queen and wife, and mother of his only son Millicas. She's also one of the most powerful devils in existence, perhaps just below the Four Satans themselves in power.

  • Action Mom: One of the most powerful devils alive, and also Millicas's loving mother.
  • The Dreaded: Firmly regarded as one of the most powerful devils alive. When she speaks, everyone pays attention. Even Riser Phenex backs off rather than incite her wrath.
  • High-Heel–Face Turn: Her family was part of the Old Satans faction back during the devils' Civil War, but when she met Sirzechs Gremory they fell in love and she switched sides.
  • The Stoic: She's always very poised and calm.

    Serafall Leviathan

Serafall Leviathan, born Serafall Sitri

Species: Devil

Role: King

One of the Four Great Satans, the leaders of Devilkind, as well as Sona Sitri's sister.

Fallen Angels

    Azazel

Azazel

Species: Fallen Angel

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/242115.jpg

The current leader of the Grigori, Azazel seeks to keep the peace between the Three Factions.

  • Abled in the Adaptation: Since Ingvild is the one who kills Katerea Leviathan, Azazel doesn't have to cut off his own arm to free himself from the Ophis snakes and replace his missing arm with an advanced prosthetic.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Brings Bakugo back from the brink of death after he was almost murdered by Freed.
  • Birds of a Feather: He calls Principal Nezu his "kind of guy" and by the end of the peace conference they're friends.
  • Go-Karting with Bowser: Regularly makes deals with Izuku so he can spend time having fun with the kid.
  • Odd Friendship: Yeah, a thousands of years old Fallen Angel and a sentient rodent-like creature is a pretty weird friendship, but they are on friendly terms soon enough.
  • Poor Communication Kills: The reason that Bakugo isn't at the peace conference. Azazel forgot to mention it to him. Considering what happened, it would have been a good thing if he had been there.
  • Sherlock Scan: Takes one look at Izuku's friends and instantly identifies the Sacred Gears among those who bear them, as evidenced by him rattling off advice on how they can better use their abilities.

    Dohnaseek and Kalawarner

Dohnaseek and Kalawarner

Species: Fallen Angel

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dohnaseek_and_kalawarnar.jpg
Dohnaseek (left) and Kalawarner (right)

Dohnaseek and Kalawarner are two fallen angels who assisted Raynare in her plot to steal Ibara's Twilight Healing.

  • Adaptational Late Appearance: Kalawarner first appears when she arrives to assist Raynare in taking Ibara away from her friends, whereas, in the anime, she first appeared after Issei's first job.
  • Ax-Crazy: Dohnaseek first appears when he finds Izuku walking home from school alone, and assuming him to be a Stray, decides to kill him. Though he backs off upon learning that Izuku is part of Rias's group, and an open attack would be a truce violation.
  • Badass Longcoat: Dohnaseek wears a long coat to match his uniform.
  • Do Not Taunt Cthulhu: For taunting Rias's servants, the two ended up on the wrong end of her Power of Destruction.
  • Killed Offscreen: Rias mentions to Raynare that she killed them for taunting Izuku, showing their feathers as proof she did the deed.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: After Rias comes to save Izuku, Dohnaseek leaves, knowing that he can't take drastic action against her without consequences.
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: Kalawarner wears a dark red suit and has black shoes in her usual uniform. Not only that, but she's part of Raynare's group.
  • Red Shirt: They were quickly killed off by Rias without much contribution to the plot outside their debut arc.
  • Sharp-Dressed Man: Dohnaseek wears a business suit to go with his hat.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: They both had just one appearance before being killed off by Rias.

    Mittelt

Mittelt

Species: Fallen Angel

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mittelt___profile_pic_infobox.png

A fallen angel sent by Azazel to keep tabs on Raynare and her cronies.

  • Adaptational Heroism: Here, Mittelt doesn't take part in Raynare's plot to steal Ibara's Twilight Healing since she's actually a double agent working for Azazel.
  • Adaptational Late Appearance: She doesn't appear physically until Bakugo visits Azazel at his apartment during the Excalibur arc.
  • Ascended Extra: Her canon counterpart didn't last beyond the first arc.
  • Belligerent Sexual Tension: The constant arguing between her and Bakugo, which includes copious amounts of swearing has both Azazel and Izuku wondering when they found their soulmate.
  • Elegant Gothic Lolita: She wears a black gothic lolita dress.
  • Girlish Pigtails: She wears her hair like this.
  • Hypocritical Humor: Calls out Katsuki for being rude, even though she's not exactly polite herself.
  • Lady Swears-a-Lot: She's not above using certain choice words.
  • The Mole: Infiltrates Raynare's group under Azazel's order to keep an eye on them, Raynare later finds out about this after she tries to return to the Underworld, only to find out Mittelt got there first and has reported her failure.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Unlike her canon counterpart, she is only there to spy on Raynare's group and leaves to report back to Azazel before they get taken down by Rias and her Peerage.

Villains

League of Villains

    Shigaraki Tomura

Shigaraki Tomura

Quirk: Decay

Species: Human

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shigaraki_anime.png

All For One's student and theoretically leader of the League of Villains. Groomed by All For One to be his successor, Tomura seeks to destroy All Might and the Hero-obsessed society he helps to protect. His Quirk, "Decay", allows him to destroy anything he touches provided all five of his fingers are in contact with the object.

  • Cloudcuckoolander: Tends to frame everything in terms of video games.
  • Hidden Depths: Is familiar enough with the supernatural to recognize Izuku's Sacred Gear rather quickly.

    Kurogiri

Kurogiri

Quirk: Warp Gate

Species: Human

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kurogiri.png

A shadowy member of the League who acts as Shigaraki's guardian. His Quirk is "Warp Gate", and it allows him to create portals out of his shadowy figure.

  • The Bartender: Outside of missions, he is usually seen cleaning cups in the small bar that serves as the League's base.
  • Cloudcuckoolander's Minder: His main task is to take care of Shigaraki and make sure he won't act out too much.

    Imasuji Gouto - Muscular

Imasuji Gouto — Muscular

Quirk: Pump Up

Species: Human

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/muscular_ones_justice_2_render.png

A bloodthirsty veteran villain. His Quirk is "Pump Up", which allows him to augment his muscles to greatly increase his strength and durability.

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: In canon, Muscular doesn't appear until the Summer Training Camp arc. Here he's already part of the League and takes part in the USJ attack.
  • Ax-Crazy: Let's say that no one sane would want this guy near children.
  • Blood Knight: He wants to fight. He doesn't care who, as long as he gets to fight and kill.
  • Hero Killer: He's infamous for his brutality, having killed several heroes, including the Water Hose duo.

    Nomu

Nomu

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nomu_anime_profile.png

A hulking, artificial being created to take down All Might. Through All for One, it has acquired multiple Quirks which give it monstrous size, strength, and speed, as well as the ability to absorb blunt attacks and a powerful regeneration.

  • Adaptational Badass: In canon, All Might was able to beat Nomu with around three hundred rapid-fire punches. Here, not only does the Nomu have the Phenex Family's immortality but it's far tougher as it took All Might over 500 hits to beat! Keep in mind that All Might still has One for All during this.
  • The Brute: The Nomu only has barely enough self-awareness to notice its own injuries and the people around it. Otherwise, it just overwhelms his foes with sheer brute force and its inability to stay down.
  • Decomposite Character: In canon, the USJ Nomu was originally some no-name small-time thug, but DNA analysis done by police shows that its original identity is revealed to be Rivalz Phenex.
  • Good Thing You Can Heal: In the same way as Riser Phenex, which raises many disturbing questions.
  • Was Once a Man: Or devil, in this case, as it's implied that Nomu was once the second eldest of the Phenex siblings, or at least has similar powers. It's later confirmed that he is indeed Ravel's brother.

Khaos Brigade

Old Satan Faction

    Katerea Leviathan

Species: Devil

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/katerea_leviathan.jpg

A descendant of the original Leviathan who took part in the attack of the peace conference.

  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Is on the receiving end, courtesy of Ingvild, who hardly breaks a sweat in their fight and thwarts all the tricks Katerea throws against her.
  • Dies Differently In The Adaptation: Rather than being impaled by Azazel's light spear like in canon, she is decapitated by Ingvild.
  • Fantastic Racism: Hates her relative Ingvild Leviathan for being a Half-Devil, to the point of wanting to kill her.
  • This Cannot Be!: She is in disbelief that not only did Ingvild survive an enhanced Demonic Power blast from her by faking her out with a water clone, but also that a "mongrel" like Ingvild inherited their clan's power Sea Serpent of the End while Katerea herself did not.
  • Villainous Breakdown: Is in disbelief that she is losing to Ingvild, whom she looks down on as half-blood filth, especially when Ingvild asks her to surrender.

    Creuserey Asmodeus

Species: Devil

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/creuserey_disses_sirzechs.jpg

A descendant of the original Asmodeus who took part in the attack of the peace conference.

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Appears at the Peace Conference arc, a lot sooner than his canon appearance in the Gremory vs. Astaroth arc.
  • Ascended Extra: In canon, he only appeared in one scene before getting killed off by Sirzechs, here, he lasts for a significant portion of a chapter before he dies.
  • Big "NO!": He lets this out as his last words before Itsuka tears him apart.
  • Dies Differently In The Adaptation: Rather than getting disintegrated into nothing by Sirzechs, he is sliced apart into chunks by Itsuka's Balance Breaker.
  • Fantastic Racism: Tried to kill Itsuka, his half-human relative, and took her mother Lasha, and turned her into a mindless puppet for "sullying" the Asmodeus blood by giving birth to a Half-Devil.
  • Karmic Death: Considering he caused the fire that killed Itsuka's father and took Itsuka's mother to turn her into a mindless puppet to try and have her kill her own daughter, he got what was coming to him when Itsuka unlocks her Balance Breaker in a fit of rage and use it to shred him to pieces.
  • Would Hurt a Child: He tried to kill Itsuka back when she was just a little girl.

    Shalba Beelzebub

Species: Devil

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shalba_beelzebub.png

A descendant of the original Beelzebub who took part in the attack of the peace conference.

  • An Arm and a Leg: Azazel slices off his left arm with a light spear.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: After losing his left arm to Azazel, he is left with two choices: go with his pride and risk death, or follow his rational sense and retreat. He chooses the latter.

Other Villains

    Lailah

Lailah

Quirk: Spider

Species: Angel

A sadistic and bloodthirsty woman with spider-themed abilities, who is eventually revealed to be an angel with ties to All For One.

  • Arch-Enemy: To Griselda, having captured her and interrogated her during the Second European War, and killed her mentor right in front of her.
  • Animal-Themed Superbeing: Her Quirk gives her the abilities and traits of a spider, including four Extra Eyes, four spider-like limbs coming out of her back, and the ability to shoot webbing from her palms.
  • Breaking Speech: Gives one to Irina and Xenovia after they discover that she's an angel, telling them that the reason the Great War between the Three Factions got started in the first place was because God was the one who threw the first metaphorical punch in paranoia, despite the Satans being unlikely to desire a war (mocking them for thinking that it would be as clear a case of Black-and-White Morality as Sunday School implied), and goes on to mention other atrocities committed in God's name, like the Holy Sword Project, persecution of the Gypsies, the Crusades and the conversion of the Americas. She finishes off by mentioning that Christianity isn't even the first religion to worship God, but the Church holds all the power compared to Judaism and Islam (or at least, it did before Quirks appeared).
  • Combo Platter Powers: Has the powers of an Angel in addition to the various spider-themed abilities that her Quirk gives her.
  • Evil Is Bigger: She stands at an impressive 194cm tall, making her tower over every female who's not a giant, and she's very much evil.
  • Expy: Heavily based on Airachnid from Transformers: Prime, with Griselda as the equivalent of Arcee. Appearance-wise she takes cues from Arachne Gorgon.
  • Good Wings, Evil Wings: Despite her many, many terrible deeds, she has avoided Falling due to a loophole, so her wings aren't black, but grey.
  • Knight of Cerebus: As it should be expected from an Airachnid Expy. Everything about Lailah is terrifying, and every time she shows up in a chapter, expect an increase in the levels of Nightmare Fuel in the story.
  • Light Is Not Good: Is a non-Fallen Angel, with all the Light-based powers that implies, and has pale blond hair, yet is a sadistic and bloodthirsty Psycho for Hire.
  • Psycho for Hire: Although she's working for Kokabiel, she has no personal loyalty to him, only desiring a restart of the war between the Three Powers he hopes to bring so she can butcher and kill as many people as she wants, and has no trouble ditching the tasks he assigns her to sake her bloodlust.
  • Spider People: Her Quirk is called Spider, and it's basically the spider version of Tsuyu's Quirk, allowing her to do anything a spider can.
  • Torture Technician: Was this for God during the War between the Three Factions, and is freelancing now that the war is over.
  • Villain Has a Point: Makes several good points to Irina and Xenovia in her Breaking Speech, like how the higher-ups in the Church funded and approved the Holy Sword Project.
  • Walking Spoiler: Due to The Reveal in chapter 29 that she's an angel.

    Kokabiel

Kokabiel

Species: Fallen Angel

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kokabiel___profile_pic_infobox.png

A rogue Fallen Angel and former Cadre of the Grigori who wishes to restart the war between the Devils, Angels, and Fallen.

  • An Arm and a Leg: Loses his left arm because of Hyde. It didn't slow him down.
  • Asshole Victim: Considering that he tried to restart the Great War by attempting to kill Rias and revealed that God Is Dead to break the morale of the heroes, our heroes would most likely not miss him if they knew about his fate. When the ORC find out about his death, they are more concerned about why he was killed and not about Kokabiel himself.
  • Blood Knight: Has a fierce bloodlust, and wants to restart the war.
  • Death by Adaptation: Ends up being killed by a mysterious individual who appears to be behind his plot to restart the Great War. Later, it's revealed to be Osanne.
  • Half the Man He Used to Be: Is cut in two and left to die.
  • Luke, I Am Your Father: Claims to be Raynare's father.
  • Unwitting Pawn: In the end, he was merely a scapegoat to Osanne in her plans for the Excaliburs, and after his defeat, she makes sure that he takes the secret of her involvement in his scheme to the grave.

Akaguro Chizome - "Hero Killer" Stain

Akaguro Chizome — "Hero Killer" Stain

Species: Human

Quirk: Bloodcurdle

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chizome_akaguro_ones_justice_2_artwork.png

An independent villain known for murdering any pro heroes that he deems to be "fake". He serves as the Arc Villain for the titular Hero Killer Arc.

  • Berserk Button: Hypocrisy. Namely, people who lack a clear sense of conviction, as in anyone who falls outside of Black-and-White Morality - essentially crooked people who waver in the grey. It splits into two major categories: anyone who claims to be a hero but runs on selfish motivation, and anyone who chooses to be a villain but goes about it aimlessly. Anyone who falls under the second category is the people he hates most. Additionally, if someone's convictions waver, he considers it a sin, because it makes them unworthy to wield power, especially without knowing what they plan on doing with it or going back on what they said they stood for. He's also not too fond of any kind of pride, because a true hero is one who always will sacrifice themselves for nothing in return.
  • Hero Killer: It's his title and he did kill over forty heroes and severely traumatizes Ryūtō especially when she realizes that he crippled Ingenium.
  • Noble Demon: He is a Serial Killer who targets "Heroes" but he does show respect to actual ones who do fight him because it is the right thing to do.
  • The Only One Allowed to Defeat You: Inverted. He says that the only person allowed to defeat him is a true hero, like All Might.

Other Characters

    Midoriya Inko

Midoriya Inko

Species: Human

Quirk: Attraction of Small Things

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/inko_midoriya.png

Izuku's mom. She has spent the most time raising him while her husband works overseas.

  • Amazingly Embarrassing Parents: Has her moments, like showing the ORC Izuku's baby pictures as revenge for him not telling her about Rias's birthday.
  • Composite Character: Given her Covert Pervert tendencies, she could be one with Miki Hyoudou, Issei's canon mother.
  • Covert Pervert: Going by some of her comments, it seems like Inko was quite wild in her youth. She also has no problem with Izuku dating multiple girls and gives them hints on how to seduce her son.
  • Good Parents: Due to her husband working out of the country, she was Izuku's only caretaker - and the main reason he came out as good as he is.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: Izuku hides the fact he's a devil now from her.
  • Shipper on Deck: Of a sort. She doesn't care which girl(s) Izuku gets with, as long as she gets grandkids to spoil.

    Eri

Eri

Quirk: Rewind

Species: Human

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/eri_anime.png

A young girl who the ORC happens to meet.

    Midoriya Hisashi

Midoriya Hisashi

Species: Human

Quirk: Fire Breath

Izuku's father. Normally absent due to working overseas, but does take what time he can to visit his family.
  • Adaptational Personality Change: A Recursive Fanfiction example, in that in fanon usually tends to make Hisashi a deadbeat dad who either divorces or abandons Inko and Izuku upon discovery of the latter's Quirkless-ness; here however he's more in-line with Horikoshi's word on him in that he's actually a decent dad to Izuku, it's just that he's constantly overseas for work.
  • The Ghost: Subverted. He appears at the end of Chapter 51 to visit Izuku and Inko, as well as meet his son's girlfriends.
  • Open-Minded Parent: Has no objections to the idea of Izuku having a harem, or that he's already technically a grandfather due to Izuku adopting Eri.
