Dae-Jung "DJ" Park

"I put my all into tonight...I need to get in white, and make my family regret for not coming out."
Occupation: Saute Chef
Age: 26
Hometown: Atlantic City, NJ

  • The Ace: Despite a few missteps early on, DJ stood above the rest of the blue team in terms of overall cooking ability and leadership. It also helps that he lacks many of the flaws that several other of his teammates have. Additionally, he's not only one of the only chefs to avoid nomination this season, but he's the first winner in the roleplay series with this distinction.
  • Batman Gambit: Attempted this with Rohan. He suggested to Rohan to nominate him in order to get rid of Brody, but Rohan declined as he knew Ramsay would see through it.
  • Beginner's Luck: During the King of the Hill challenge, DJ made an ostrich dish despite never making ostrich before. He managed to win the challenge and nab the first black jacket.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: DJ was easily one of the nicer chefs of the season, but even he had his limits. Case in point where Dorian got the team kicked out of service, which caused DJ to rail on him.
    • There's also the time where Ben mouthed off a little too much, resulting in DJ snapping at him.
  • Broken Pedestal: After seeing Rohan finally be nominated despite seemingly managing to dodge it, DJ finally became aware of the manipulations Rohan was pulling, and after Rohan failed to give him a straight answer on whether or not he was using him, DJ entirely cut ties with him throughout the remainder of Rohan's time in the competition.
  • Crazy Enough to Work: DJ took a big risk in the King of the Hill challenge, making an ostrich dish that he even admitted he's never cooked before. It turned out to be perfectly cooked, and it netted him a black jacket.
    • There was also his team in the finale, which, while considering of Ben and Rohan, also had weak links Georgie, Keith, and Paula. Despite the on-paper terrible team, his team performed extremely well, and he managed to pull out the victory.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Pretty much the best way to describe DJ's finale compared to Heather. Heather constantly failed to keep control of the kitchen, while DJ, despite a minor setback with Georgie, held the kitchen down extremely well.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Very much so.
  • Deaf Composer: Due to him having a heart condition on top of an alcohol allergy, he could not taste anything involving alcohol. It required Ben to help him out when it came to tasting the leeks.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: He rebounded from parents who didn't support his dreams, a chef who he thought was a friend, and managed to defeat Heather despite a seemingly terrible team.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse (In-Universe): He's this to the red team. Unlike the other chefs on the team who were either seen as weak (Tommy) or had notable attitude problems (Rohan and Ben), DJ was the sole exception. It's even to the extent that Heather considered him a strong chef.
  • Fantasy-Forbidding Father: He revealed that his parents did not approve of his choice to become a chef instead of a doctor. This was especially telling when his parents didn't even show up during the family meeting.
  • Fire-Forged Friends: With Ben. The two initially started off badly, with DJ believing that Ben was a weak link and not very serious in the kitchen. As time went on, and Rohan's doings started to alienate DJ, he formed a bond with Ben who was at the forefront of Rohan's targeting.
  • Flawless Victory: Outside of a few services, there was almost never a chance of DJ looking like he was going to lose. He managed to completely avoid nomination, and even during the finale, Heather's mistakes completely sunk her chances.
  • Friendly Rivalry: DJ formed one with Donna, as she understood that DJ was also likely being manipulated by Rohan. It also helped that DJ lacked many of the personality issues seen on the blue team.
  • Genre Savvy: The amount of manipulations DJ was exposed to at the hands of Rohan resulted in DJ not being able to be fooled as easily. This of course worked wonders when Heather attempted to manipulate him into an alliance.
    • Later on in the season, DJ took note of the ingredients in the dish served by Ramsay and started to taste them. This helped him nearly win the taste it, now make it challenge.
  • Honor Before Reason: When Ben was blaming Tommy for the puree, DJ would admit he was the one who suggested it, even though he could've thrown him under the bus.
  • The Leader: After Rohan lost the respect of the team, DJ would take control of it, and managed to do far better with it.
  • Nice Guy: He, along with Keith, were the nicest chefs on the blue team. Even during his worst moments, it was him being manipulated by Rohan that caused this.
  • Only Friend: In a way, he was this to Rohan, as Rohan actually did respect him as a chef. This was eventually subverted as Rohan's manipulations drove a wedge between them.
    • Eventually, he became this to Ben, as even after Rohan's manipulations were exposed, Ben still didn't really make many friends due to his attitude rubbing chefs like Donna and Heather the wrong way.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: His real name is Dae-Jung, but he goes by DJ on the show.
  • Only Sane Man: Shared this role alongside Rohan at least until the final ten. From then on, it was only just him.
  • Shorter Means Smarter: DJ, despite not being the tallest, was a legitimately talented chef.
  • Token Good Teammate: When it comes down to him, Rohan, Ben, and Tommy come the final nine.
  • Token Minority: The only chef of Korean descent this season.
  • Took a Level in Badass: DJ was a strong chef, but he never established himself as that much of a leader. Come the final nine, when Rohan started to lose respect from the blue team and Ben and Tommy failed to step up, DJ finally managed to whip the team into shape, although it didn't net them a service win. It did however continue throughout his remainder of his time in the competition, resulting in him managing to pull out the win.
  • Was It All a Lie?: After the final ten elimination ceremony, DJ confronted Rohan about his manipulations and asked him if he was really his friend or being used. When Rohan didn't give him a straight answer, DJ cut ties with him.
  • We Used to Be Friends: At the start of the competition, DJ got along really well with Rohan, as the two respected each other's abilities and were some of the saner chefs on the blue team. As Rohan's manipulations started to affect the blue team, DJ became alienated from him.
  • What Were You Thinking?: Pretty much everyone had this reaction to some of DJ's final picks. While his first two picks weren't terrible (Rohan and Ben), he then selected Keith and Georgie, two far weaker chefs. However, he at the very least left Heather with Joanna on her team.
  • Worthy Opponent: Chefs like Heather, Donna, and Rohan all stated that DJ was one of the strongest chefs in the competition, and considering how he won in the end, it was justified.
Placement: Winner
DJ's Winner Comment - "Woo! I can't believe I fucking won! I honestly feel like I'm gonna drop...Holy shit...Heather, you were an amazing chef to go up against. I wish you the best of luck.”
Ramsay's Winner Comment - "From the very start, I knew there was something special about DJ. He's shown to himself to be confident, able to make big decisions, and most importantly, be able to rise above the pack. There's no doubt that DJ is going to do big things in his career, and I'm more than honored to have him be running one of my restaurants."

Heather Graham

"Now’s a time where I can show Chef Ramsay that I’m a leader."
Occupation: Executive Sous Chef
Age: 25
Hometown: Pensacola, Florida

  • The Ace: Heather easily stood above the rest of the red team in terms of cooking skill, leadership, and overall consistency. Even other chefs such as Donna and Gina, who were also fairly strong, had some very noticeable flaws that Heather lacked. Additionally, she's one of the only chefs to avoid nomination this season.
  • The Alliance: She ends up in one with Paula and Tommy come the final seven.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Had her fair share of moments.
  • Epic Fail: Her finale went wrong in so many ways. Her teammates kept messing up, she made the unwise decision to keep Joanna on for as long as she did, and all that resulted in was her failing to keep any kind of quality control. That of course led to her being easily defeated by DJ.
  • Friendly Rivalry: She forms one with Donna come the final eight, as the two are battling to become leader for the red team.
  • The Generic Girl: Outside of her friendship with Donna, she didn't really stand out that much.
  • Graceful Loser: Despite being mostly antagonistic towards DJ and being absolutely destroyed by him in the finale, she did wish him well upon being named the runner-up.
  • The Leader: She served as this to the red team.
  • Manipulative Bitch: She tried to be this in order to mess with Ben and DJ, but due to Rohan causing so much drama with his manipulations, they didn't fall for her attempts.
  • Nerves of Steel: Unlike her more emotionally driven chefs, Heather usually kept a calm demeanor. This helped her stay above the competition quite a bit.
  • Nice Mean And In Between: She's the mean to Gina's nice and Donna's in-between. Like Rohan, she didn't start out badly, but come the black jackets her attitude started to change for the worse.
  • Only Sane Woman: She shared this role alongside Donna.
  • Power Trio: With Donna and Gina.
  • The Rival: To Joanna. The two were constantly at each other's throats. Later on in the season she would become this to Ben.
  • Smug Super: She's particularly upfront about her skills, but she can back them up pretty well.
  • Sore Loser: As seen by her reaction to losing the alcohol challenge, she did not take the loss well.
  • Spicy Latina: Very much so.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: While starting off the season fairly level-headed, Heather's attitude slowly started to get worse as it progressed.
    • Subverted after she admitted that her attitude was growing increasingly bitter throughout the black jackets, and apologized to Donna for it.
  • True Companions: With Donna.
  • What Were You Thinking?: This was Ramsay's reaction to Heather's decision to nominate Gina over Paula during the final eight.
  • Worthy Opponent: DJ seemed to consider her one in the finale, based on how he praised her in his victory speech.
Placement: 2nd
Heather's Runner-Up Comment - "When I first came into Hell’s Kitchen, I was all guns blazing, and wouldn’t go down for nothing, but it all led to the finale where I tonight proved I wasn’t ready, but I’ve been shown that I can make it far in this industry and I have many great things to come. Great job DJ, and I hope many great things come for you.”
Ramsay's Elimination Comment - None.

Ben Tavis

Occupation: Executive Chef
Age: 35
Hometown: Las Vegas, NV

  • Accentuate the Negative: At the final ten, Ben managed to be one of the three chefs to avoid being kicked out of the kitchen while Rohan and Keith were kicked out for their problems on meat and fish respectively. However, he was nominated regardless as Rohan managed to bring up Ben's often lackadaisical attitude that rubbed the other chefs the wrong way.
  • Achilles' Heel: Communication was this at the start. Ben was a very competent chef, but he often times had trouble communicating. This eventually resulted in his first nomination.
    • Later on, Ben's actual Achilles heel would manifest itself into leadership. He often had trouble delegating responsibilities to his team, and along with his immature personality, he wasn't taken very seriously as a result.
  • Arch-Enemy: Rohan, due to Rohan disliking his immature attitude while Ben disliked the targeting he received from him.
  • Better the Devil You Know: Despite their dislike for each other, DJ made an effort to start working with Ben, as at the very least Ben was predictable as opposed to Rohan, whose manipulations made it tricky for DJ to trust him.
  • Butt-Monkey: Ben got very little respect from his teammates due to his rather uncaring personality, no matter what strides he made in the kitchen. Even Ramsay had some fun at his expense on occasion.
  • Can't Take Criticism: Any attempts of his team pointing out his problems with either his attitude or his communication went right over his head, and he refused to acknowledge his issues.
  • Fire-Forged Friends: With DJ. The two initially started off badly, with DJ believing that Ben was a weak link and not very serious in the kitchen. As time went on, and Rohan's doings started to alienate DJ, he formed a bond with Ben who was at the forefront of Rohan's targeting.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: As the competition progressed, Ben's attitude started to seriously alienate his fellow teammates. By the top ten, he got into several arguments with DJ, Rohan disliked him in general, and Keith and Tommy seemed to barely tolerate him. This was gradually averted come the final 9.
  • Genre Blindness: Ben, despite being a genuinely talented chef, was incredibly egotistical throughout much of the start of the competition, such to the extent that no matter how many contributions he made, he was either never taken seriously as a team player or an individual. In fact, two of his nominations were primarily as a result of his attitude coming back to bite him when he wasn't able to back it up in the kitchen.
  • Graceful Loser: Despite coming so close to making it to the final two, he took his elimination incredibly well, admitting that the mistakes he made caught up with him, and was happy to be there.
  • Insane Troll Logic: During the charity night, Ben would tell his team to not walk his course yet as he wasn't done plating...despite the fact he had nothing to plate.
  • Insufferable Genius: Somewhat downplayed on the genius part. Ben was rather cocky and did believe he was better than his team, putting in solid performances on the cooking aspect of things. However, his communication, especially early on, left much to be desired.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Ben could be obnoxious and didn't make many friends during his time on the show, even after his bout with Rohan, but the few chefs he did end up being friends with he constantly encouraged. He also did display compassion on more than a few occasions, and even formed a friendship with his former rival in DJ.
  • Manchild: He could come off as this. He had a hard time taking things seriously in the kitchen, and was prone to starting arguments.
  • Never My Fault: Upon being confronted by his teammates over his lack of communication, Ben would state he shouldn't be up for nomination over that...despite the fact that he actually had a problem with communication.
  • No Indoor Voice: Ben had a really bad habit of shouting in the kitchen, something that gradually annoyed the other chefs.
  • No-Respect Guy: Despite being a really good chef and making it pretty far, Ben was never taken seriously by anyone due to coming off as immature and not a good leader.
  • Not So Above It All: While he was a legitimately good cook to the extent he arrogantly thought himself as the best chef on the blue team, he actually ended up making an apple tarte that was too sweet, and only scored a one. for it.
  • Pet the Dog: He was actually nice to Georgie after Rohan cruelly threw her under the bus.
  • The Scapegoat: At the final ten, Ben was nominated despite doing pretty much nothing wrong, only being put up for his lackluster attitude in service. Ben took this well as well anyone would...
  • Small Name, Big Ego: Somewhat. For the most part, he was a good chef, but he certainly seemed to have an overinflated view of himself to the extent that he believed himself to be one of the strongest chefs on the team. This was despite the fact that Ben had a pretty notable problem when it came to communication, and eventually leadership.
  • Tempting Fate: During the final five, the initial punishment was just prepping, but Ben made the big mistake of joking that the punishment wasn't that bad. Cue Ramsay adding onto the punishment by cleaning the dorms.
  • Took a Level in Badass: After several services of him miscommunicating, Ben finally managed to fix his problems and became a strong link in the team...although it wasn't enough for him to be taken seriously.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: At the start of the competition, Ben was constantly snarky and made rude comments towards his teammates, which resulted in his team losing respect in him. After he was thrown under the bus too many times by Rohan, DJ noticed what Rohan was up to, and started to treat Ben nicer. This in turn resulted in Ben gaining a bit of an attitude improvement.
Placement: 3rd
Ben's Elimination Comment - "This was one of a hell of a journey I have gone through, so much mistakes but then I made an awesome come back. I’m afraid, it wasn’t that good enough, but hey I’m glad I got to participate in Hell's Kitchen. DJ and Heather, I wish you good luck.”
Ramsay's Elimination Comment - None.

Donna Edwards

Occupation: Sous Chef
Age: 22
Hometown: Williamsburg, Virginia

  • Achilles' Heel: Communication. Donna was a very strong chef, but usually whenever she made a mistake, it was often with failing to get timings down right.
    • Slightly subverted at the second Final 5 service, where she easily made the most mistakes related to cooking her entire run.
  • The Alcoholic: Got extremely drunk twice during the competition, both times with Heather.
  • The Alliance: Paula tried to form one with her and Richard, stating they needed to stick together in order to win. This worked, up until Rohan managed to dismantle it by getting Richard alienated from her, and Paula's own failings quickly resulted in her losing respect.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Despite being generally levelheaded, whenever she has outbursts, oh man does she have outbursts. Notable moments include:
    • Losing dinner service because of her mostly horrid team despite the power trio of her, Gina, and Heather.
    • Losing her temper at Mai whenever she would repeatedly falsely accuse Donna of being in a clique with Gina and Heather.
    • After she absolutely lost her mind at Pory and Brynn over their critique and subsequent low scoring of her dish during the wedding challenge, after wish she would not stop complaining during the entirety of the punishment, which included her breaking a mirror by throwing tongs.
  • The Determinator: She went through a lot of service losses, challenge losses, and even received the most nominations of the season, but she never gave up and continued pushing through.
  • Everybody Smokes: Despite not being a smoker, her team drove her to smoke once after a particularly bad dinner service.
  • Fiery Redhead: Is extremely passionate about cooking as is often seen in service and with her reactions and facial expressions to certain events. Also includes her short fuse with a long explosion.
  • Flipping the Bird: She does this in her Confession Cam, after Pory and Brynn dislike her challenge dish.
  • Friendly Rivalry: She forms one with Heather come the final eight, as the two are battling to become leader for the red team.
    • Slightly averted for a while in the black jackets when Heather began to have attitude problems during service. However, after Heather apologized to Donna about her behavior, following a drunk episode between the two, it returned to being played straight.
    • She also formed one with DJ, as she understood that DJ was also likely being manipulated by Rohan. It also helped that DJ lacked many of the personality issues seen on the blue team.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: As seen above, Donna could fly into a rage quite easily.
  • Honor Before Reason: Shown when she picked Gina to go on the reward to the hotel with her as she got second, as opposed to Heather who was her best friend.
  • Glass Cannon: Despite being inarguably talented, she was also very prone to making some idiotic mistakes, mostly communication based.
  • Graceful Loser: Donna took her elimination incredibly well, saying that she was happy she was able to show what she could do.
  • Informed Flaw: Mai accused her of having a massive ego quite a lot, even though Donna seemed relatively level-headed.
  • It's All My Fault: After the red team lost another service, Donna, who was feuding with her at the time, would still feel bad about giving Mai incorrect garnish times, leading to the kitchen failing to finish far behind the blue team. At elimination, she would nominate herself, despite the red team's insistence that it wasn't her fault. She was called down along with Georgie and Mai, but managed to survive as it wasn't an elimination service.
    • Shown again after her attitude from the Wedding Challenge carried over into her being extremely exhausted during service, which eventually caused some mistakes made by her caused Richard to mess up a couple of times on the meat station, after which she profusely apologized for and broke down because of it in the dorms.
  • Nice Mean And In Between: She's the in-between to Gina's nice and Heather's mean. She has a few moments where she loses her temper, but overall she's one of the nicer chefs on the red team.
  • Power Trio: With Gina and Heather.
  • Prescience by Analysis: Zig-Zagged. During the punishment she believed that Ben was going to be the sole standout performance on the blue team, and that Rohan, DJ, and Tommy were going to fall. While she was right on Rohan falling apart, Ben actually had one of the worst performances while DJ and Tommy had better ones.
  • Rage Breaking Point: After Georgie and Mai accused Donna of not listening to them after the latter two's nominations, Donna pretty much snapped.
Donna: "BECAUSE YOU BOTH FUCKING SUCK!"
  • The Rival: To Harper. The two were constantly at each other's throats. Eventually she started one with Mai, over Mai's increasingly jerkish attitude.
  • Sore Loser: Oh boy, she did not take Pory's and Brynn's critique of her dish well, and was so mad about that Ramsay called her out over it.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: After her dish was criticized for the wedding challenge, Donna spent nearly the whole episode whining about it, the emotional exhaustion of it carrying over into service.
  • True Companions: With Heather.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Gave this speech to Mai after the latter decided that Evelyn should leave over the likes of Joanna and Harper.
  • What Were You Thinking?: Had this during multiple challenges, most notably during the vegetarian challenge where she mixed together syrup, apple cider vinegar and mayonnaise. Suffice to say, it did not go down well, or at all, for that matter.
  • Worthy Opponent: Donna thought this of both Heather and DJ, as she acknowledged them as the only two chefs stronger than her.
Placement: 4th
Donna's Elimination Comment - "Hell's Kitchen was nothing like I've ever experienced before. I didn't come into here with the strongest first impression, but I'm always forever grateful that my leadership abilities were showcased through and through. I've dealt with a lot of bitches and people who weren't up to snuff, but it was so fucking worth it, despite my teams lack of winning, and while it was rough at times, nothing will ever beat the accomplishments that I've had, nor the good times I've experienced. And Heather, she's a real fucking gal, and friendship that can never be replaced. Yeah, we've had our ups and downs, but I would trade just about anything in the world for her. I leave here with my best service yet, my head up, and ready to kick some more fucking ass!”
Ramsay's Elimination Comment - None.

Gina Porter

"Tommy, why are you acting so mentally slow?"
Occupation: Sous Chef
Age: 48
Hometown: Griffith, Indiana

  • The Ace: She's made very few mistakes in the kitchen, and has been a consistently strong chef on the red team throughout her entire stay.
    • Averted in the second final five service, where she absolutely crashed on the meat station, resulting in her elimination.
  • Achilles' Heel: Leadership. While Gina was a strong chef, she noticeably struggled once it came to leadership, as seen by her weak charity service.
  • Cool Old Lady: She's 48, but she can hold her own in the kitchen incredibly well.
  • Crazy Enough to Work: Her signature dish was a three-protein trio of lamb, wellington, and sea bass. Somehow, she managed to make all fantastic and score a five out of five.
    • She followed that up by managing to win the punishment pass with a pufferfish dish.
    • Subverted during the King of the Hill challenge, as she made an oven-roasted chicken breast with beef tartare. While the dish was stated to taste nice, Ramsay said that he disliked the combination of the tartare and the chicken.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Has her fair share of this.
  • Epic Fail: Oh lord her final service saw her absolutely tank the meat station, and fail to send out anything. It resulted in DJ having to take over her station, and that, along with her consistent failure to lead, resulted in her elimination.
  • Fatal Flaw: Leadership. While Gina was very strong when it came to cooking, she often struggled with driving her team. That, along with her awful service in the final five, caused her elimination.
  • The Generic Girl: Didn't really get that much attention, due to the other members on the red team overshadowing her.
  • Genius Ditz: She'll get flustered over her words quite a bit, but she's a strong chef in the kitchen.
  • Failed a Spot Check: At the final ten, Gina was selected to present the nominees, and she selected Richard (who actually had a pretty bad service), and Donna (who, while not having a good service, wasn't kicked out of the kitchen). Ramsay would ask why not nominate Paula, who had crashed on the apps station, to which Gina replied that she forgot she was there.
  • Honor Before Reason: She elected to not use the punishment pass after single-handedly tanking the red team's chances of winning the Blind Taste Test. This was something that Donna and Heather greatly appreciated.
  • The Millstone: While a strong chef, Gina had easily the worst performance during the blind taste test, scoring a 1/4 and putting the blue team in a lead they would never get out of.
  • Nice Mean And In Between: She's the nice to Donna's in-between and Heather's mean. While a good chunk of it may be because of the lack of focus she gets, compared to Donna and Heather, she comes off as more easy-going.
  • Out of Focus: Despite being one of the stronger chefs of the season, Gina never really got a lot of focus compared to her fellow chefs on the red team.
  • Power Trio: With Donna and Heather.
  • Shout-Out: "Does Brody think he's the new Albert Wesker?"
  • Totally Radical: Despite nearing her fifties, she talks like a teenager.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Her completely forgetting that Paula was an option resulted in Rohan gaining the foundation to convince Richard to end the alliance with Paula, culminating in both Richard's and Paula's elimination.
Placement: 5th
Gina's Elimination Comment - "My run started off like a smooth water slide. Then over time, my run became an unstable amusement park ride. If there’s anything else I have to say, Donna, you’re based as fuck. Heather, you are also based as fuck. In fact, basically everyone I’ve met here was based as fuck. I won’t forget this experience or them.”
Ramsay's Elimination Comment - "Gina's shown me more skill and talent than many chefs her age. Only thing is that while she can walk the walk, she can't talk the talk."

Tommy Vercetti

"Garlic bread takes 7 minutes to cook and then they are done. It's not rocket science!"
Occupation: Sous Chef
Age: 32
Hometown: Queens, NY

  • Aesop Amnesia: After seeing chefs like Rohan and Richard clearly let their good performances get to their heads, one would expect someone to avoid doing the same, especially since doing so would cause their inevitable crash. After his excellent charity service, Tommy would gain a massive ego, and from then on nearly everything went wrong for him.
  • The Alliance: He ends up in one with Paula and Heather come the final seven.
  • Catchphrase: "It's not rocket science!"
  • Deadpan Snarker: He had his fair share of this.
  • The Ditz: Tommy had a pretty bad habit of making some bone-headed decisions in the competition, although for the most part they never came back to bite him too hard. The best example of this was his decision to pick jelly in the craps challenge, which alone made it impossible to have a solid dish.
  • Epic Fail: Tommy's rabbit dish for the game meat challenge was overcooked and under-seasoned.
    • Tommy's only black jacket service saw him argue with sous chef Talia and Ben, start cooking steaks before entrees, resulting in him wasting 10 steaks that night, and completely shut down when it came to communicating. It all culminated in Tommy being ejected that night.
  • The Generic Guy: Probably one of the more laid-back chefs of the team, and thus, never really stood out that much. That was until the final eight where he started getting more focus.
  • Glass Cannon: Tommy was a relatively consistent performer for the most part, but when he fell, he fell hard. The best examples of this came in episode 4 where his communication stalled the kitchen in the and episode 9, where he tanked the meat station.
  • Heroic BSoD: Tommy took his performance in the final nine particularly hard. While he wasn't the worst out of everyone, he had a lot of trouble with the meat station, and went quiet until DJ stepped up.
  • Informed Flaw: His leadership skills. While he wasn't certainly the greatest leader, he wasn't a bad one by any stretch.
  • In Name Only: As the name suggests, he's supposedly based off the character from Vice City. However, outside of him being Italian, there isn't much about him that represents him, even to the point that he comes off as an entirely different character.
  • Misplaced Retribution: Somewhat. While Tommy was the one who picked jelly for the craps challenge, he wasn't the one who suggested the puree. That would instead be DJ who did, and he admitted to it.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: He clearly regretted letting his great charity service get to his head, as seen as by his elimination comment.
  • Nervous Wreck: He was this in the fourth service, constantly failing to give consistent times and causing the team to scramble when he miscommunicated on a risotto. He was only lucky that the blue team had not only won, but Joanna did worse, otherwise he might've gone.
  • Out of Focus: Never really got too much focus, due to his other teammates overshadowing him.
  • Rambunctious Italian: Downplayed at the start of the season, as he never got much attention, and for the few times he did, he was pretty soft-spoken. At the final seven, he started to come out of his shell a bit more.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: Delved into this in his final few appearances. After his strong performance from charity, he got a massive ego thinking he was great, despite him being a relatively okay chef by the season's standards. It was even to the extent that he barely got into Black Jackets, and on his first night, he crashed and burned so hard he was ejected during service.
  • Took a Level in Badass: After a while of not being seen as a solid leader, Tommy finally gained a voice during the charity night service.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: Mild example, but clearly Tommy got a massive ego boost from his strong charity performance, and he believed himself to be better than he really was.
  • What Were You Thinking?: Tommy picked JELLY of all things for the craps challenge, and on his second roll, he chose fontina cheese. The jelly alone made it impossible for the blue team to make a solid dish.
Placement: 6th (Eliminated mid-service)
Tommy's Elimination Comment - "I messed up. I can't believe it. I just let that one performance get to my head and it just fucked me over. I wanted to win this so badly, but I got too ahead of myself. I know I can cook at least, but I'm not going to live my dream.”
Ramsay's Elimination Comment - "Many chefs this season have let good services go to their head, and they crashed as a result. Tommy clearly didn't get that memo."

Paula Tishon

"I'm not here to be a politician, I’m here to cook for Ramsay!"
Occupation: Political Chef
Age: 50
Hometown: Graham, Washington

  • The Alliance: She formed one with Richard and Donna, stating they needed to stick together in order to win. This worked, up until Rohan managed to dismantle it by getting Richard alienated from her.
    • She forms another one with Heather and Tommy at the final seven in order to get into black jackets. It doesn't work.
  • Crazy Enough to Work: For her signature dish, she made haggis of all things. Despite the initial worry, it wound up being one of the best dishes of the night and got a 5/5.
  • Forgettable Character: In universe. The reason why she initially managed to avoid nomination for the first time was because Gina completely forgot she was an option to be nominated. That of course didn't sit well with Ramsay, who called her up anyways.
  • Four Is Death: Was eliminated on her fourth nomination.
  • Genius Ditz: She's out there, but she's a pretty solid chef for the most part.
  • Hopeless War: Let's face it, Paula was never going to win Hell's Kitchen in the slightest, due to her poor skill in the kitchen. However, Rohan revealing her true motives of wanting to use the clout to run for campaign, it meant that her road was going to run out very fast, which it did one episode later.
  • Last Ditch Move: She was on the receiving end of this, as right before his elimination, Rohan revealed Paula's true motives. It was enough for Ramsay to put Paula on thin ice after his elimination, and once she had another poor performance, she ended up barely missing out on black jackets.
  • The Load: Despite nearly making it to the black jackets, Paula was never an impressive chef in the competition. She was constantly overshadowed leadership wise by Heather and Donna, and she was pretty inconsistent in the kitchen. Even on her best services, she was passable at best. The only reason she made it as far as she did was because of other chefs on the red team into failing harder than her, and managing to fly under the radar.
  • Manipulative Bitch: At elimination in the third episode, she teamed up with Harper and Joanna, coming up with the idea to nominate herself and Georgie to get rid of her. However, Joanna would go against the idea and nominate Georgie and Donna in an attempt to save herself and Harper.
  • Once Done, Never Forgotten: At the final eight, Rohan brought up the idea of Paula only being in Hell's Kitchen to advertise her political campaign. As much as Paula tried to deny it, Ramsay already had it in his head that that was Paula's true intentions, and along with her crashing on the meat station, it resulted in her elimination before black jackets.
  • Only in It for the Money: Possibly. She actually doesn't care about winning the season and taking up the head chef position. She just wants the money to further her political career. This is something that Rohan exploits, as she knows that not having her head in the competition will be a death sentence to her.
  • Out of Focus: Despite nearly making it to the black jackets and being the last of Rohan's victims, Paula never really got that much focus. This was something that she used to her advantage, as while her mistakes were numerous, she often managed to fly under the radar to avoid nomination for a while.
  • Pet the Dog: While she does have her moments of trying to manipulate, she was the only one who didn't immediately blame Gina for her poor performance during the blind taste test.
  • Punny Name: Just read it out.
  • You Are Too Late: After Rohan revealed Paula's true motives of wanting to take the money and run, Paula seemingly ditched her initial goals and became determined to try and stay for Ramsay. Unfortunately for her, she had regressed too badly to the point that she was eliminated in spite of her new attitude.
Placement: 7th
Paula's Elimination Comment - "I'm absolutely devastated. I have all the passion in the world not just for politics but cooking as well. It sucks that Ramsay just couldn't look past it and give me another chance. I know I'm better than that...”
Ramsay's Elimination Comment - "Paula campaigned to get a black jacket, but due to her lack of passion and her inconsistencies, I had to impeach her out of a black jacket."

Rohan Desai

Occupation: Executive Chef
Age: 33
Hometown: Syracuse, NY

  • Arch-Enemy: While he didn't like a lot of the chefs, he had a particularly antagonistic relationship with Ben, as he disliked his immature attitude while Ben disliked the targeting he received from him.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: Part of what makes Rohan such a formidable and dangerous competitor is just how easy he is able to pick up on the more vibrant chef's flaws. With Paula specifically, he manages to psychoanalyze her position prior coming into the competition, knowing that she's already a wealthy politician and thus, wouldn't have any real reason to be in. After coming to the conclusion that she wants to use the clout in order to run for president, he holds this new-found knowledge over her head, causing her to make mistakes while also sabotaging her alliances, and even during his elimination he finally lets the truth slip, causing Gordon to lose all faith and respect in her despite her seemingly wanting to try.
  • Became Their Own Antithesis: At the start of the season, Rohan was a relatively sane professional who kept his head down and out of drama, causing him to have respect from not only his team, but Ramsay himself. By his elimination, he was an egotistical manipulator who had alienated his entire team.
  • Bookends: By the start of the season, he was entering with a goal to get rid of all the chefs who had problematic traits (mainly just being unpleasant). By the time he was eliminated however, he himself was displaying those same traits.
  • Bollywood Nerd: He's a chef of Indian descent who, despite being uptight, has a few nerdy and dorky elements to him.
  • Brutal Honesty: He would not hold back on his criticisms and reasons for nominating several of his fellow chefs.
  • Chronic Backstabbing Disorder: He formed friendships with Harper and Joanna only to help orchestrate their eliminations. Then he cruelly used his pass on Georgie in order to rattle her after she confessed her feelings towards him, resulting her elimination.
  • Crying Wolf: After Mai revealed photoshopped pictures of her and Donna's husband, Heather immediately assumed that Rohan was a part of it. While he may be sneaky, underhanded, and borderline sociopathic, he admitted that he wouldn't pry into personal matters for his own gain.
  • Consummate Professional: He starts out as this, admitting that while he doesn't particularly like many of the blue team, he won't be rude towards them unless they come at him. Eventually subverted as his ego starts to spiral out of control.
  • Consummate Liar: Downplayed example. Really the only time Rohan has lied was when it came to him leading on Georgie. Other than that, he never really lied throughout his time in the competition, which only cements him as a far more dangerous competitor.
  • Country Mouse: He mentions on a reward he's mostly lived in New York for most of his life, and isn't used to the sights of California.
  • Deadpan Snarker: One of the more notable ones, mostly when it came the blue team's particularly weird quirks.
  • Deconstructed Character Archetype: Of the Only Sane Man variety. He initially starts out as the sanest chef on the blue team aside from DJ as he's one of the more normal chefs compared to his rather strange teammates. However, his strong performances and being seen as the most suitable leader led him to becoming more arrogant and embodying more negative traits, and once he starts to make mistakes, he starts to lose all the respect and leadership he had built up.
    • He's also one of the Manipulative Bastard variety. After managing to screw over several chefs on the red team, his allies start to question if he's also playing them, and Rohan doesn't exactly help his case by giving them non-answers and continuously trying to manipulate his fellow teammates. It eventually gets to the point where they just stop trusting him all together.
  • Detrimental Determination: Throughout the season, Rohan seemed to have a set goal of having a chef that he would consider worthy to run Ramsay's restaurant, alongside wanting to just win the restaurant. While it all starts out fine, his methods gradually became more cutthroat, with him targeting chefs who really didn't deserve it, with Georgie and Ben being the most prominent examples. As such, it started to cause his team to turn against him despite being one of the stronger chefs of the team.
  • Devil in Plain Sight: Zig-Zagged at the start of the season. While he did display common sense when it came to the blue team's dynamics, he constantly messed around with the red team in order to get rid of chefs whom he believed had no chance of being head chef. Eventually, the other chefs realized what he was up to, but not before he had essentially poisoned the chances of other chefs he was targeting.
  • Dramatic Irony: Oh, so many to count, especially when it comes to how he acts throughout the season.
    • To start out, earlier in the season he wanted to show nothing but respect to Ramsay. Later on in the season, he would start trying to nominate chefs over others, pretty much disrespecting Ramsay in the process.
    • To add onto this, after the first service ended in disaster, DJ attempted to get Rohan to nominate him in order to try and get rid of Brody faster. Rohan declined because he knew that Gordon would see right through it. Later on however, he started doing just that, but in an attempt to eliminate chefs he disliked.
    • There was also the fact he was eliminated on Charity night, the night where leadership is really tested.
    • Of course, there's also his final plea, where it's filled of moments that reference the other chefs he had a hand in eliminating.
  • Epic Fail: Oh god, his charity service. On top of failing to count the plates, he struggled with the lamb three times, even overcooking it at one point, resulting in him being a course behind. Him blaming the others for his failures, and arguing with Ben didn't help at all, and it only served to send him home that night.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Referring to Mai's decision to mess with Donna's head, he admitted that while he was responsible for Mai's and Georgie's crashes, he would not cross the line of picking into one's personal life.
  • Failed a Spot Check: Several times throughout his charity course. He failed to spot an extra plate, and even sent up raw lamb multiple times.
  • Flaw Exploitation: This was often how he managed to screw over the chefs on the red team. He would take note of an obvious flaw (such as Mai's alienation from the red team), and pick at it until it became the red team's problem.
  • Funny Foreigner: He was born in India, but lived most of his life in New York. Heavily downplayed on the funny part however.
  • Genre Savvy: He actually came into the show aware of the less than successful attempts that Indian chefs had and wanted to change that.
    • Rohan immediately realized upon seeing the table and Ramsay inviting them down to eat with him that it was setting up for the blind taste test.
  • Glass Cannon: Applies to only his challenges. Rohan easily could put in some of the strongest performances on his team. However, when it came to challenges where his team had some sort of input on ingredients, he tended to crash hard on those.
  • Hated by All: As his manipulations made themselves more and more known, the rest of the chefs started to distrust him more and more, and his ego spiraling didn't help either.
  • He Who Fights Monsters: Reconstructed Trope. Rohan initially came into the competition butting heads with chefs such as Brody and Jackson, and even orchestrating the downfalls of Harper and Joanna. However, as the season progressed, he started to emulate several of the worse qualities of others, such as Joanna's selfishness and Harper's condescending attitude. It was enough to alienate his friend DJ, and by the time he realized what he had become, he was already eliminated.
  • Honor Before Reason: This was the reason why he elected not to nominate a stronger chef to ensure Brody would be eliminated. He didn't want to make a bad impression on Ramsay on their first night.
    • There was also when his plan to get Ben nominated backfired, and Ramsay asked for the real nominee. Rohan, knowing his poor performance on meat that night, would step forward.
  • How the Mighty Have Fallen: Initially started out as an uptight, but respectable chef who had enough quirks that made him likable, and he very well could've been on the fast track to becoming one of the most dominant winners in the series. However, his ego and manipulations eventually got in his way and his skills started to plummet.
  • Hypocrite: In his reasoning as to why he targeted Ben, he calls him a chef that sticks around for drama. This is of course coming from the chef who's caused the most drama this season.
  • I Lied: Pretty much said this to Georgie as the final nail in the coffin to shatter her confidence.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: Rohan, despite his questionable decision to throw Ben under the bus, did have a relatively solid reason for doing so. Ben, despite being a great cook, wasn't really that helpful when it came to teamwork, and only really did the bare minimum.
  • Jerkass to One: Of the crueler to one variety. He didn't like or at the very least barely tolerated chefs save for his friend DJ, but he was particularly mean towards Ben. Granted no one liked Ben that much, but Rohan zeroed-in a lot on Ben to the extent that Ben started to seriously dislike his team. Inverted however when it comes to DJ, as DJ was the one chef that Rohan genuinely liked and didn't seem to try intentionally manipulating.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He can be uptight, snarky, short-tempered, and has a nasty manipulative side, but he's shown to be a fairly decent guy as long as he's not annoyed. He's also shown to be respectable towards Ramsay, and is not pleased when others show no care for him, which of course means he gets along with chefs such as Donna or DJ. Even when he's manipulating the red team chefs, his only targets are those who have obvious attitude problems (aside from Georgie), and it's all in order to have what he believes is a truly deserving winner. Additionally, he even admits in his confessionals that as long as he won't mind losing as long as someone deserving (in his eyes at least), ends up winning.
  • Kick the Dog: While most of his manipulations were done on chefs with obvious attitude problems such as Harper, Joanna, and Mai, his decision to screw over Georgie was pretty much unneeded as despite being a relatively poor performer, she was one of the nicest chefs on the red team. His decision to use his punishment pass on her resulted in everyone, including the chefs who didn't really like Georgie all that much and even Ben to change their opinions on Georgie and really reassess Rohan's true intentions.
  • Last Ditch Move: One could see his revelation of Paula's true motives before being eliminated as this. Regardless, it was enough for Ramsay to put Paula on thin ice after his elimination, and once she had another poor performance, she ended up barely missing out on black jackets.
  • The Leader: He served as this for the blue team during their disastrous first service, and throughout the first half of the season.
  • Manipulative Bastard: Good god yes. Rohan, in addition to strong leadership, displayed a notorious manipulative streak that served him well. His decision to tell Harper to stop the nice girl act would result in her elimination not long after, and Joanna being unable to have Harper on board to keep up would fall right after. Then he used his punishment pass on Georgie right before service, resulting in her elimination. Then, he managed to get Mai to alienate herself from her team to get her eliminated, before managing to get Richard be eliminated as a side-effect of trying to get rid of Paula. While this eventually would be his downfall, as his judgement was no longer trusted by Ramsay or his fellow blue team chefs, he had managed to rattle Paula and put enough heat on her to the extent it caused her performances to deteriorate after he was eliminated. Add onto the fact that essentially meant he manipulated Ramsay, and it cemented him as the most dangerous and cutthroat competitor in the roleplay's history.
  • Meaningful Name: In Persian, Rohan's name means "good character and piousness". Fitting, since he primarily wants to fulfill his obligations to a "god" aka Gordon Ramsay. Ironically, Rohan is not of good character throughout the season due to his manipulations.
  • Moral Sociopathy: Rohan is probably the closest thing to a borderline sociopath in the roleplay. He has four of the qualities associated with it, those being extremely manipulative, trustworthy due to his strong leadership, lacking much empathy, and with Georgie, pretty much goes after her for very little reason. However, he isn't one entirely, due to his goal mostly stemming from just wanting Ramsay's reputation to remain intact, and by the time he's eliminated he does genuinely hate what he's become.
  • Motive Decay: Initially came into the competition looking to win and bring respect to Gordon's establishment. As the season progressed however, Rohan was fully into his manipulative side, and pretty much took great pride in orchestrating the downfall of other chefs, even barely mentioning wanting to win.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Rohan has this after Ramsay calls him out for all the manipulating he's done and says he's become no better than the chefs he's been targeting. As he's leaving, he's incredibly apologetic about what he's ended up as, saying that Hell's Kitchen changes people, but sometimes not for the better. This was gradually averted later in the season.
  • Never My Fault: Delved into this in his final service, where he blamed the other team for not seasoning and Ben especially for the raw lamb.
  • Only Sane Man: Rohan saw himself and DJ as the most rational and level-headed individuals of the blue team. To be fair, there is some truth to that considering the majority of the blue team (outside of DJ and to a lesser extent, Tommy, Ben, and Dorian), were rather strange.
  • Pyrrhic Victory: Rohan's goal was to have a deserving chef win the season, which did happen in the form of DJ. However, that came at the cost of him losing a lot of respect from his team and being eliminated in 8th place.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Rohan gave one to Ben, calling him a rating trap chef and says he only sticks around for drama.
Rohan: "My problem is that you aren't fucking ready to be a head chef, and I'm treating you as I should! A pathetic excuse for a chef who's only sticking around because of drama! You're not a chef! You're a fucking ratings trap!"
  • Removing the Crucial Teammate: As manipulative as Rohan was, he was the best leader for the team for a while. In the final 12, after using the punishment pass, Ben got angrier, and DJ lost his temper with him during the punishment when he mouthed off too many times. This would be something that Rohan used as justification for nominating Ben at the final 10.
  • Rule of Three: Was eliminated on his third nomination.
  • Shadow Archetype: Of Heather from Season 1 of Amateurs. The two of them were both strong leaders early on in the competition, being labeled as the best of the worst on a terrible first night, and easily cementing themselves as the ones to beat. Additionally, both would enter romance storylines with Malcolm for Heather and Georgie for Rohan. However, where they differ is how they dealt with the opposing team. Heather would keep a level head and stayed kind to her fellow chefs, which worked wonders for her as Charles and Korekiyo helped her win the season. Rohan on the other hand would manipulate and sow seeds of distrust in the red team, allowing him to orchestrate several eliminations and cause not only the red team, but the blue team to start questioning his leadership, leading to his eventual elimination.
  • The Social Darwinist: Thankfully not a fatal version of this, but it's essentially his mindset when it comes to manipulations. His main targets primarily consisted of chefs who he saw as not fit to run Ramsay's restaurant, with them having pretty noticeable attitude problems. This was gradually averted as he started to target chefs who really didn't have attitude problems, such as Georgie and Richard.
  • Spotlight-Stealing Squad: The narrative for the majority of the season focuses on his fall from grace and sabotaging the red team.
  • Tempting Fate: Inverted. He talked up his palate being very strong, before scoring a perfect score on the blind taste test.
  • Too Clever by Half: Ultimately Rohan's biggest flaw. With a mind like his, he could very easily take out stronger chefs like DJ and Donna, but he mainly focused on chefs that were either not that impressive to begin with, or strong chefs whose performances were starting to wane. Justified however, as throughout the season, it appeared that his goal of winning Hell's Kitchen no longer took precedent over his desire to ensure Ramsay had an acceptable winner.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: Rohan didn't start out bad, being one of the sanest people on the blue team and easily looking like the one who could win it. Around the final fifteen, after being praised one too many times by Ramsay, his ego started to grow out of control, and he started to act incredibly callous towards his fellow chefs. Not only that, he had the power go to his head and he started to form a dictatorship like rule over the blue team, constantly targeting Ben and refusing to take responsibility for his mistakes.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: After being brought back, Rohan had completely lost that manipulative side of him, and even apologized for his actions. He even put in a strong enough effort to help DJ win.
  • Verbal Backspace: Early on in the season, Rohan had great difficulty calling Ramsay by anything other than chef on rewards.
  • We Used to Be Friends: At the start of the competition, Rohan got along really well with DJ, as the two respected each other's abilities and were some of the saner chefs on the blue team. As Rohan's manipulations started to affect the blue team, DJ became alienated from him.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: He started out as a chef who wanted to find Gordon's next head chef, usually by allowing chefs with "undesirable" traits to be thrown under the bus, and even manipulating chefs like Harper and Joanna to alienate themselves from the red team to get them home faster. As time went on however, his ego grew out of control, and his cooking suffered.
  • What Were You Thinking?: After running out of John Dory during the final nine service, Rohan made the unwise decision to take john dory from the red kitchen. Ramsay and the red team immediately noticed and called him out on it.
  • The Worf Effect: In the beginning, Rohan seemed like the odds-on favorite to win due to his strong leadership skills and being one of the saner chefs on the blue team. However, around the final 14, his ego skyrocketed, and his cooking skills gradually began to plummet. This eventually hit a breaking point at the final ten, where he started to severely slip up as he alienated his own team, and it would continue until his eventual elimination.
  • Worthy Opponent: This is essentially the sole reason as to why Rohan didn't target chefs like DJ or Donna despite having more than enough time to manipulate them. He felt that they were both worthy of being the winner and head chef, and thus, when Donna for example was an emotional wreck after Mai got under her skin, Rohan would not even attempt to go after her, and even seemed sorry for her.
  • Wrong Genre Savvy: Subverted at first, as he displayed enough common sense to not nominate someone like DJ in order to eliminate Brody. Gradually played straight as he started to manipulate the chefs on the red team in order to get them eliminated quicker.
  • Xanatos Gambit: Pulled this off brilliantly in the final nine whilst targeting Paula. He managed to get Richard to alienate himself from Paula, and in turn the red team. While this resulted in Richard's elimination, this also resulted in Paula's alliance with her, Richard, and Donna crumbling as Paula no longer had anyone she could throw under the bus.
Placement: 8th
Rohan's Elimination Comment - "My team turned on me, and you know what? I can't blame them. They were right to do so. I came here wanting just to be the next head chef, but I let everything get to my head and I'm now leaving as someone I can't even recognize. Hell's Kitchen changes people, and sometimes...it's not for the better. I'm sorry I let you down. I'll make it up to you somehow.”
Ramsay's Elimination Comment - "To be a head chef, one must have a level head and the respect of their team. Rohan had none of those."

Richard Martial

Occupation: Head Chef
Age: 45
Hometown: Tampa, Florida

  • The Alliance: Paula tried to form one with him and Donna, stating they needed to stick together in order to win. This worked, up until Rohan managed to dismantle it by getting Richard alienated from her.
  • Cloud Cuckoolander: One of the more...out there chefs of the season.
  • Gonk: He was a very goofy looking individual.
  • Epic Fail: His pie for the Wedding challenge not only looked visually unappetizing, but it actually made Pory spit it out. That's nothing to say about his service that night, where he tanked the meat section.
  • Foil: He's this to Mai. Both started out as strong chefs of their season, but eventually started to crumble as a result of something involving the titular alliance (Mai believing there was one in the first place, and Richard being thrown under the bus due to Paula not speaking up), and both were eventually doomed after being manipulated by Rohan. They also had two Pet the Dog moments throughout the season, with Mai being surprisingly the one most furious with Georgie being betrayed and Richard being the one to mainly stick up for Ben. However, they differ in their personalities, as Richard was initially condescending and jerkish to the Red Team before being nicer after he was switched, Mai started out as one of the sanest chefs on the team before her temper started to overshadow her talent.
  • Genius Ditz: Richard had a habit of being rather...dumb on occasion, but he did back it up pretty well in the kitchen.
  • Graceful Loser: Richard actually took his elimination pretty well for the most part, with him admitting he couldn't live up to Gordon's standards and at least his kids were proud of him. He didn't even take the chance to chew out Rohan, who had a hand in his elimination.
  • Heroic BSoD: He had one of these after his Epic Fail above, where he admitted that he's never encountered someone who disliked his food before. Judging by his performance in service, it was clear how much this affected him, and he could've gone home had Keith not performed worse.
  • Hidden Depths: He actually signed up for Hell's Kitchen in order to pursue a restaurant at the request of his now-deceased wife.
  • Horrible Judge of Character: Despite Rohan's manipulative nature being well-known at this point, Richard could not help but go along with his idea to break off the alliance with Paula. While Rohan did give some relatively solid reasons for doing so (in that, Paula was easily one of the weaker chefs of the competition, and was dodging elimination), doing so gave the side effect of Richard not having anyone to vouch on his behalf when he inevitably screwed up, and was eliminated as a result.
  • Only Friend: In a way, he was this to Ben. He was the only one who gave him the benefit of the doubt when it came to his communications, and acknowledged he was a good cook.
  • Rule of Three: Was eliminated on his third nomination.
  • Sacrificial Lion: He served as the fifth chef Rohan had a hand in getting eliminated, as breaking off the alliance with Paula led to Richard not trusting anyone when he eventually crashed on his station. Rohan would even admit he was one in an attempt to get rid of Paula.
  • Skilled, but Naive: Richard was a solid chef overall, but his overall naivety and blindness to Rohan's intentions was what doomed him.
  • The Big Guy: One of the biggest chefs of the season.
  • The Worf Effect: Richard, despite his rather odd behavior, was a relatively strong chef at the start of the competition, being a solid leader and being able to hold his own on the line. It was enough that Ramsay took notice, and sent him over to the red team in order to help them get back in shape. However, after being switched, Richard started to fall apart in challenges and service, and he was gone by the top nine.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: Richard initially started out as aggressive and rude towards the red team, but after being switched over, he started to mellow out quite a bit.
  • Unwitting Pawn: He served as this in Rohan's plan to eliminate Paula, as he got Richard to break off the alliance with her. This had the side-effect of causing Paula to lose all her allies, but no one to defend Richard after another poor performance, culminating in his elimination.
Placement: 9th
Richard's Elimination Comment - "I wanted to win this competition so badly, not only for me, but my wife as well. Unfortunately, I couldn't live up to Gordon's standards, but that's okay. I know that I'm a good chef, and my kids will be proud of me for making it this far.”
Ramsay's Elimination Comment - "Richard was a big guy with a big heart. Tonight however, he was nothing but a big disappointment."

Keith Ricardrick

"You can tell which of these whipper snappers were punished properly, because they ain’t actin out!"
Occupation: Street Food Chef
Age: 47
Hometown: Caddo Parish, Louisiana

  • Cool Old Guy: Among the older chefs of the season, Keith was easily the most laid back of them all, and was willing to comfort his fellow teammates.
  • The Ditz: On occasion. He wasn't the worst performer in the kitchen, but some of Keith's confessions could come off as him being not that bright.
  • Epic Fail: His dish for the Japanese Punishment Pass challenge was not only southern sushi, but the ribeye he made alongside it were undercooked. Thankfully, his dish didn't lose the blue team the challenge.
    • Then there was his performance during the wedding service, where he struggled so hard on the fish station that he was essentially hand-held through it by Rohan and DJ. This eventually was enough to eliminate him.
  • Glass Cannon: Keith could put in some actually solid performances...although at the same time he wasn't the best chef.
  • Good Ol' Boy: If his accent hasn't given it away.
  • Graceful Loser: He took his elimination very well, saying that he didn't expect to make the top ten, and was at least able to walk out with his head held high.
  • Literal-Minded: "Richard said "Ru stupid" to me. I don't know who Ru is, but they sure won't like bein' called stupid!"
  • The Load: While not as bad as chefs like Brody and Dorian, Keith still wasn't that good in the kitchen. He was extremely inconsistent in service, and while he did have some challenge highlights, he usually was hit-or-miss for the most part. It's likely the only reason he managed to get as far as he did was because he was on the winning team, or he didn't perform badly enough to be nominated.
  • Nice Guy: Despite his less-than-stellar performances, Keith was easily one of the nicer chefs in the competition.
  • Rule of Three: Was eliminated on his third nomination.
Placement: 10th
Keith's Elimination Comment - "Coming into this competition, I know I didn't have much of a shot, so getting to the top ten was absolutely mind-blowing. I came here to show that old guys still had something to give, and you know what, I think I did just that. So, I'm walking out of here with no regrets, and my head up high, something that I know that Rohan will not be able to do once he gets his just desserts.”
Ramsay's Elimination Comment - "Tonight's wedding service should've been magical and a night to remember. Keith's performance tonight made me want to ask for divorce papers."

Mai Dixard

"Donna likes to act like she's a hero but the reality is, she's no better a person than me. The only difference is I admit I'm a shit person."
Occupation: Sous Chef
Age: 25
Hometown: San Marcos, Texas

  • Arch-Enemy: While she didn't get along with Joanna and Harper (in fact, no one did), she particularly didn't get along with Donna, saying that her style of leadership was closer to bullying.
  • Asian Rudeness: She's of Asian descent, and has a nasty temper.
  • At Least I Admit It: As seen in her above quote.
  • Ax-Crazy: Her temper was so volatile that she threatened assault on Joanna.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Very much so, mostly when it came to Joanna and Harper.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Mai easily took the most offensive to Rohan using his punishment pass on Georgie, and when Rohan showed no problem with his decision, she sarcastically said he would make a girl happy one day.
  • Foil: She's this to Richard.
  • Four Is Death: Was eliminated on her fourth nomination.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: As the competition progressed, Mai's worsening attitude and performances gradually started to isolate herself from her team. With a bit of a push from Rohan, she finally ended up isolating herself so much that Ramsay eliminated her.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: The moment she's even considered for nomination, she'll fly right off the handle.
  • Honor Before Reason: While she hated Joanna and Harper, she did say that Evelyn should be eliminated for being a far less useful teammate.
  • Never My Fault: After her disastrous performance in the fourth service, she refused to take responsibility for her mistakes, and tried to throw Joanna and Georgie under the bus.
    • Then there was the time she accused the entire red team of being a clique on her second nomination, and tried to throw Gina under the bus.
  • Only Sane Woman: Served as this for the awful first service for the red team, even being named as the best of the worst for that service.
  • Pet the Dog: Even after Mai turned down Georgie due to her conflicting feelings, she did comfort Georgie after Rohan cruelly told her he didn't like her the same way.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: She delivers a vicious one to Joanna, calling her out for her poor attitude.
    • She delivers another one towards Paula, saying that she wasn't getting answers out of her.
  • Sacrificial Lion: She was the fourth casualty of Rohan's purging of the red team, where he encouraged her to avoid making amends with her team, only hastening her elimination.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: Mai initially started as the sanest chef on the red team, and was capable of making tough decisions that were ultimately right. As the season progressed however, Mai gradually became more and more abrasive towards her team, and refused to take responsibility for her mistakes.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Was on the receiving end of this from Donna, as Donna was furious she suggested to get rid Evelyn over Joanna and Harper.
  • The Worf Effect: Mai started out as a potential front-runner of the season, being named the best of the worst on the disastrous first night and showing enough promise overall. Not long after however, Mai started to make more mistakes in service and gain an attitude on top of that. Ramsay would even mention this as she got worse and worse, until it became to much to ignore and was eliminated.
Placement: 11th
Mai's Elimination Comment - "Well I definitely flopped at apps but whatever perhaps I'll do better at Civivor! Where you have to outwit, outplay, and outlast the competition!”
Ramsay's Elimination Comment - "Mai wanted to be mai head chef but all I wanted to do is her the fuck out of Mai restaurant, goodnight."

Georgie Beveridge

Occupation: Line Cook
Age: 28/29
Hometown: Seattle, Washington

  • A Birthday, Not a Break: Everything went wrong for her so badly on her birthday. After managing to help her team come up with a dish that could work, Rohan, her supposed crush, used his punishment pass on her to rattle her, then cruelly rejected her feelings towards him. This was enough to rattle her and cause her elimination that night.
  • Break the Cutie: Rohan did this to her in an especially cruel way. He used his punishment pass on her birthday, and then turned her down. That, along with her terrible performance, would end up eliminating her.
  • The Ditz: Oh god yes.
  • Dumb Blonde: Blonde, and was an incredibly poor performer in the kitchen.
  • Epic Fail: Georgie's rabbit dish was compared to actual shit, and it was bland and undercooked. Ramsay even went as far as to spit it out.
  • Fatal Flaw: While Georgie wasn't a great chef, her lack of being able to focus was what was easily the most prevalent flaw she displayed. She very rarely talked about wanting to win, which gave the impression that she wasn't here to win. That wasn't even to mention that in the kitchen, she was an absolute disaster when it came to communication.
  • Foreshadowing: One of her confessionals stated that if Rohan knew about her crush on him, then she was screwed. Sure enough, once Rohan gets word of this, he leads her on before brutally using his punishment pass on her and mentally destroying her enough to get her eliminated.
  • Horrible Judge of Character: She expressed a romantic interest in Rohan, despite his sneaky tendencies and often uptight attitude. Rohan, upon learning this, would lead her on for a bit before using his punishment pass on her before service, and then brutally turned her down. This ultimately resulted in her elimination.
  • Humiliation Conga: See above.
  • Kindhearted Simpleton: She's an incredibly poor performer in the kitchen and not the brightest bulb for sure, but she was easily the nicest chef on the red team.
  • The Klutz: Tends to trip a lot at elimination.
  • The Load: As nice as she was, she was not a very good chef in the kitchen. She was a constantly frazzled mess in the kitchen, and she was unimpressive challenge wise.
  • Love Makes You Dumb: Her biggest mistake in the competition. While Mai turned her down without much of an issue, Rohan led her on for a while before using his punishment pass on her, before telling her he didn't like her the same way in order to rattle her enough to ensure her elimination.
  • Love Triangle: She expressed an interest in both Mai and Rohan. While Mai turned her down due to her concern about her as-of-yet unknown crush on Rohan, Rohan instead would lead her on for a bit before using his punishment pass on her to rattle her. This would be enough to cause her elimination.
  • Nervous Wreck: She ended up as this in the final 12, where her frazzled nerves resulted in the apps station getting off to a bad start. At one point, she ended up cooking foie gras, which was meant to be on the meat station. Luckily for her, she survived elimination. Unfortunately, this continued on after Rohan's betrayal, and she ended up having her worst performance by far.
  • Never My Fault: Somewhat. Whenever she's put up for nomination, her go to advice is to try throwing other chefs (namely Mai), under the bus for their attitude problems.
  • Nice Girl: While she wasn't a very good chef, she was easily one of the friendliest chefs on an incredibly cutthroat red team.
  • No Respect Girl: She certainly felt this way after her team didn't select her dish as one of the best for the Japanese Punishment Pass challenge.
  • No Social Skills: This was the main reason why Mai turned down Georgie, saying she wasn't exactly sure where to process the idea of a relationship if she liked someone else.
  • The Pollyanna: Incredibly positive and energetic...much to some of her team's dismay.
  • Rule of Three: Was eliminated on her third nomination.
  • Sacrificial Lion: She was the third casualty of Rohan's purging of the red team, where after leading on Georgie for a while, Rohan would use his punishment pass on her, rattling her enough to put in another bad performance to ensure her elimination.
  • Shoo Out the Clowns: Her elimination marks the point where Rohan's manipulations start to become well known to the other chefs, and the whole vibe of the season changes.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: She doesn't make it to the top ten, but Rohan's decision to use the punishment pass on her ended up tipping off the red team to his underhanded tactics.
  • Stupid Good: She's a massive ditz, but she's also the nicest chef on the red team.
Placement: 12th
Georgie's Elimination Comment - "Love is a bitch. But I will say. I will start that baking business. I got a passion there. And I’ll find someone who actually loves me! I’ll see you guys at the reunion! I will bring baked goods to it.”
Ramsay's Elimination Comment - "Georgie’s frazzled mind was like a loose cannon, and I had to shoot her out of the competition."

Dorian Hirsch

Occupation: Line Cook
Age: 31
Hometown: Baltimore, Maryland

  • A Death in the Limelight: After not really standing out much throughout the past few episodes, he finally started to get some focus...in his elimination episode.
  • The Generic Guy: Outside of his poor performances in the kitchen, he didn't stand out that much.
  • Hypocrite Has a Point: As unpleasant as Dorian was, he did make a valid point in how Ben should not be ignored for arguing in the kitchen, and storming off to leave Dorian.
  • The Load: After Brody and Jackson were eliminated from the competition, Dorian quickly became the blue team's most consistently weak chef.
  • Never My Fault: After screwing up one too many times, he refused to take responsibility for his mistakes.
  • Rule of Three: Was eliminated on his third nomination.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: Certainly seemed to think of himself as a great chef, despite him being a relatively poor performer overall.
Placement: 13th
Dorian's Elimination Comment - "I think going on Hell's Kitchen was a mistake and I’m glad to finally be done with it. Can’t believe I thought I could do this and ended up being humiliated worldwide. Am I still gonna do this for a living? I don’t know, but now I know I’m not a good chef that’s for sure."
Ramsay's Elimination Comment - "When you get this far into the competition, you better be able to swim. Tonight, Dorian was shark bait."

Joanna Scribbins

"I thought we were gonna stick together, I guess I thought wrong."
Occupation: Short Order Cook
Age: 23
Hometown: Austin, Texas

  • The Bully: She, along with Harper endlessly bullied Georgie.
  • Epic Fail: During the Japanese Punishment Pass challenge, her dish was selected as one of the worst of the day. While she didn't think it was that bad, Ramsay revealed that the stir fry had no seasoning, the tofu egg was bland and raw, and the pork belly wasn't made properly. It was bad enough that Ramsay pretty much called her dish the worst of the day, and resulted in the red team losing the challenge.
  • Four Is Death: Was eliminated on her fourth nomination.
  • It's All About Me: She literally states in a confessional that she's only looking out for herself.
  • Jerkass: Much like Harper, she's also very unpleasant towards her team.
  • Large Ham: She is so loud and obnoxious it almost borders on parody.
  • The Load: Joanna was a consistently poor performer in service, and easily the red team's weakest chef.
  • Manipulative Bitch: At elimination in the third episode, she nominated Georgie and Donna in an attempt to save herself and Harper.
  • Pet the Dog: She actually did apologize to her team for losing the punishment pass challenge for them.
  • Picked Last: She was the last chef picked overall for the final tasting challenge, ending up on Heather's team.
  • Sacrificial Lamb: She was the second casualty of Rohan's purging of the red team, where after Harper's elimination, she had no one to back her up, and was eliminated right after.
  • Sore Loser: Her elimination comment was rife with this. She called out her team, saying they were against her and Harper for no reason despite them having every reason for it, and saying that the moment Georgie was eliminated, she was going to laugh at her.
  • True Companions: With Harper. The two were not afraid to mouth off and criticize their fellow team members.
Placement: 14th
Joanna's Elimination Comment - "From day one, everyone on that red team was against me for no reason. They targeted me, they targeted my girl Harper, and yet the one chef they didn't point fingers at was Georgie. She's got no chance of winning, and once she gets eliminated, I'm going to be there to greet her so I can laugh in her face."
Ramsay's Elimination Comment - "Joanna liked to compare herself to a sleeping lion, don't underestimate me or I might bite. Joanna is all bark, and no bite."

Harper Keller

Occupation: Prep Chef
Age: 22
Hometown: Grand Rapids, Michigan

  • Alpha Bitch: Her true nature is a catty bratty selfish girl.
  • Beneath the Mask: On the outside, a relatively nice girl. In the confessionals, an incredibly rude and bitchy chef.
  • Be Yourself: After a talk with Rohan, she decides to ditch the nice girl personality she made up and let her angry side loose. Unfortunately for her, her decision to do this only accelerated Harper's eventual elimination, as Ramsay realized he could not have a head chef who wasn't what he was thinking of.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Invoked by her. She presents herself as a pretty nice girl who's able to show some passion. However, in actuality, she's a rude and snarky individual.
  • The Bully: She, along with Joanna endlessly bullied Georgie.
  • Crippling Overspecialization: Harper was actually a pretty solid competitor when it came to challenges, having some of the better performances there. Unfortunately, when it came to service, she was more often than not a weak link. That, combined with her bad attitude, made her not long for Hell's Kitchen.
  • Deadpan Snarker: She makes her fair share of snarky comments.
  • Failed a Spot Check: During her elimination quote she actually thanked Rohan for allowing her to show her true colors. It's because she failed to realize that Rohan telling her to display her manipulative side pretty much destroyed her chances at winning.
  • Foreshadowing: In her elimination comment, she hoped that her personality would inspire Rohan in some way. Her personality of being a manipulator to further her chances would eventually become one of Rohan's defining traits later on in the season.
  • Hero-Worshipper: To Shane Bhatoa. She even admits it's the first time she hasn't faked her excitement.
  • Jerk Ass Has A Point: While Harper was friends with Joanna, she didn't hesitate to declare her dish as one of the worst during the Japanese Punishment Pass challenge. The reason she did this was because she knew she was on Ramsay's radar, and knew trying to pass off Joanna's poor dish as good would be a terrible idea.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: While she's very unpleasant to her fellow team, she does have some good sides. She will admit when her teammates do good on occasion, and after throwing Joanna under the bus during the Japanese Punishment Pass challenge, the first thing she does is apologize to her.
  • Leader Wannabe: She tried to be a leader in the second service, but all that resulted in was her performance worsening and the service tanking.
  • Never My Fault: During her second time up, she tried to blame Georgie for the meat station tanking. However, Georgie not only had a better service, but Evelyn was primarily to blame for the disaster on the meat station.
  • Odd Friendship: Harper, and by extension Joanna, two of the biggest bullies of the season, would form a friendship with Rohan, with Harper particularly being friendly towards him as Rohan was able to see through her fake personality. This eventually turned out to be one-sided however, as Rohan only became their friend in order to have them sabotage themselves.
  • Pet the Dog: One of the nicer things she did in the season (which isn't a lot), was admitting that Gina was a very good chef in prep.
  • Prescience by Analysis: Downplayed. During her elimination comment, she stated that Georgie would be the next to go based on her focus on love and not the job. While she was wrong on Georgie being the next boot (that would be Joanna), she was right on Georgie's downfall due to being about love, as Rohan would manipulate her feelings towards him then use his punishment pass on her, rattling her enough to get her eliminated.
  • Rule of Three: Was eliminated on her third nomination.
  • Sacrificial Lion: She was only the first casualty of Rohan's purging of the red team.
  • True Companions: With Joanna. The two were not afraid to mouth off and criticize their fellow team members. Even after she admits that Joanna's Japanese dish was poor, she immediately went to apologize.
  • Weak, but Skilled: Despite Harper's less than stellar reputation, she did have some moments where she stood out. She didn't have a bad signature dish, and she actually did incredibly well during the scallop challenge. Unfortunately she just couldn't get it together in the kitchen.
Placement: 15th
Harper's Elimination Comment - "You know how they say three strikes and you're out? Weah happened to me. I don't really give a fuck if only a few people like me for my true colors, at least I'm more authentic than I was before. Thanks, Rohan, for showing me, hopefully my personality will inspire you in some way. I think Georgie's time will come soon. She's here for love, not for the job clearly and inevitably, it'll be her downfall."
Ramsay's Elimination Comment - "Harper may have been good in prep but it was clear that she wasn’t prepared for being my next head chef."

Evelyn Johnson

"I've never had Japanese food, but it's probably the same thing as Chinese food, right?"
Occupation: Sous Chef
Age: 47
Hometown: McDonough, Georgia

  • Cool Old Lady: Downplayed, as she was still extremely weak. However, she was one of the saner chefs on the team.
  • The Ditz: As seen by her mistaking Chinese food for Japanese food.
  • The Load: Evelyn was a very poor performer in the kitchen, screwing up in both her services and having a terrible signature dish and an even worse Japanese dish.
  • Nice Girl: Easily was one of more amicable and friendly chefs on the red team.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: She never really got to stand out too much among the more colorful red team.
  • What Were You Thinking?: During the Japanese Punishment Pass challenge, she presented lo mein chicken, which was not only dry, but it was a Chinese dish on top of that. To add onto this, Evelyn even said there couldn't have been that much of a difference.
Placement: 16th
Evelyn's Elimination Comment - "It's heartbreaking that I'm out of here this early. I felt I had a lot to offer with my experience, but it wasn't enough. Harper and Joanna are going to be a cancer to that red team the longer they stay, and I don't think they'll be lasting much longer at the rate they're going."
Ramsay's Elimination Comment - “Throughout Evelyn’s short stay, she was nothing but a lost dog and I had to put her down.”

Brody McKowski

"These people can go suck tentacle dick for all I care."
Occupation: Prep Chef
Age: 23
Hometown: Murray, Kentucky

  • And There Was Much Rejoicing: Pretty much everyone was glad to see him eliminated.
  • Bystander Syndrome: In his only service, he never attempted to help Jackson with the struggling fish station, and only seemed to be making the bare minimum to help out. Ramsay would notice this, and eliminated him.
  • Cool Shades: He's seen sporting these in his introduction to Ramsay.
  • Deadpan Snarker: He made many jabs and quips towards his fellow competitors.
  • Epic Fail: His signature dish was just a meager pumpkin...that wasn't even cooked.
  • Hated by All: Everyone from the blue team to the red team absolutely despised him, and no one was sad to see him eliminated early.
  • Jerk Jock: Oh yes. Pretty much anything he says gives off this impression.
  • The Nicknamer: He constantly made up nicknames for many chefs, with his most notable being "barbie doll" for Harper.
Placement: 17th
Brody's Elimination Comment - "Man, if Ramsay dawg got the sand out of his eyes, he could see that I'm the biggest and baddest chef on the team. No way I should be going home at this point. Whatever, his loss, I'll still be ballin, and everyone else will be stuck doing whatever the fuck they're doing."
Ramsay's Elimination Comment - "Jackson and Brody were the two least passionate chefs I have ever seen in the history of Hell's Kitchen, so I had the passion to remove them from the competition."

Jackson Hill

"If you wanna jump on my station, fine, you'll fucking crash on your own."
Occupation: Sous Chef
Age: 35
Hometown: Pinckney, Michigan

  • Epic Fail: His signature dish scored a one due to raw chicken. That's not even to mention his only service on the fish station, where he undercooked and overcooked several proteins and argued with his teammates.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: He was very quick to anger in the kitchen, and was very much unable to work with his team.
  • Never My Fault: When his performance on the fish station continued to stall the kitchen, he blamed the pots and pans for his faults.
  • Rage Breaking Point: He reached this as Gordon ejected him, swearing him out and throwing his jacket at him.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: It wasn't as bad as someone like Brody's but it was still notable, nonetheless. He even thought his signature dish wasn't that bad despite having raw chicken.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: He was the first eliminated of the season, ejected no less.
Placement: 18th (Eliminated mid-service)
Jackson's Elimination Comment - None.
Ramsay's Elimination Comment - "Jackson and Brody were the two least passionate chefs I have ever seen in the history of Hell's Kitchen, so I had the passion to remove them from the competition."
