Awesome Music / Friday Night Funkin': Corruption

Go To

Just because most of the Friday Night Funkin' universe is being corrupted by evil doesn't mean we still can't jam out to its tunes!

    Weeks 3 and 2
  • "Full Clip", which replaces "Blammed x Milf" as Pico's 3rd song in the full mod, is a fast paced and incredibly panicked sounding song that's a great way of showing Pico's desperation before he falls into the ranks of Monster's corrupted army.
  • "Chiller", Skid's final song before getting corrupted, is just as catchy as it is hopeless as the poor kid succumbs to his corruption.

    Weeks 4 and 6
  • "M.I.L.K", the second song from Week 4. Don't let its rather suggestive name fool you — it stands for Mother I'd Like to Kill. Knowing Mommy Mearest's first song was enough to open a rift in Pico's corruption, this song pictures both of them on equal fighting terms. It even lives down to Mommy Mearest's standards by having a very tricky note pattern right before the end of the song.
  • "Dead Pixel", the second song from Week 6, is as haunting as it is daunting, featuring Senpai struggling to hold his own against the Boyfriend with vocals and a melody superbly portraying the danger of the situation.
  • "Roots", the fourth and final song from Week 6, is somber and hopeless as Spirit tries to take Boyfriend down with him while the game around them breaks down. The song also incorporates motifs from "Senpai", "Roses", "Thorns", and even "Gettin' Freaky" from the base game in the background during the second half.

    Week 7
  • "Lament", the first song from Week 7, is a tense and somber melody fitting Daddy Dearest's last-ditch effort to stop the corruption from spreading.
  • "Dusk", the second song from Week 7, is a "calm before the storm" interlude that borrows some of the same Leitmotifs as "Lament", but this time, there is more harmonization and even some "Fresh" style beatboxing. And since Daddy Dearest has the ability to reverse the corruption on himself (as confirmed by Phantom Fear), this song captures a more hopeful outlook than the previous song.
  • "Deathmatch", the third and final song from Week 7, is a heart-racing song that combines its own melody with Leitmotifs from both the vanilla game and the mod itself (notes from "M.I.L.F." and "Chiller" just to name a few). Since Daddy Dearest is facing off against the other corrupted characters, this fits perfectly.

    Week 8
  • The first song of completely original Week 8, dubbed "Tormentor", is a rock track that accompanies Boyfriend's Battle in the Center of the Mind with Soul Boyfriend, who reveals along the way that the corruption has nothing to do with him. Both him and his deeper sounding self are holding nothing back with some rather awesome singing.
  • The second song of Week 8, "Neuroses", starts out as a chiptune track not out of place in a retro video game, but soon gets to full-on rock once Soul Boyfriend and Boyfriend begin to duet. And that's not even mentioning the guitar solo halfway through the song, done in-universe by Soul Boyfriend. But the music fades away as quickly as it began, leaving behind an eerie silence as Boyfriend is left alone to vocalize the last few notes of the song.
  • The third song of Week 8, "Discharge", sees Boyfriend undergo one hell of a Heroic Second Wind with Soul Boyfriend helping him along the way, opening the song by handing him his electric guitar, then revealing he has another! Together, the duo then unleash The Power of Rock to shatter the realm Boyfriend is trapped in, paving the way for Week 9. Along the way, the Corruption tries to stop Boyfriend in his tracks, but every time his confidence begins to wane, Soul Boyfriend gives him the courage to carry on.
  • The fourth and final song of Week 8, "MEMORY//LEAK", is an energetic, emotional, and downright gorgeous techno track, sung by Boyfriend and Soul Boyfriend as they travel through the former's restored mindscape and make one last push to free him from the corruption. It's wonderfully triumphant and serves as the perfect sendoff to the mod's first original week.

    Week 9
  • The second song of Week 9, "Estranged", combines the talents of three composers — Saster, Squeak, and Jellyfish — and it shows! It's an intense and emotional rock duet between Boyfriend and the corrupted Girlfriend, as long and epic as "Discharge" before it. Special mention to the calmer portion at a little past the three-minute mark, which features bitcrushed audio and the return of Soul Boyfriend in the background.

    Week 10
  • Both of Week 10's starting songs mesh so well that most people thought they were one really long song at first (helped by the fact they were introduced in the same video).
    • The first song, "Extractor", has a dark and ominous tone to it and even has Boyfriend singing a bit of "Blammed" within it.
    • The second song, "Headshot", opens with a similar but more intense tone, plus Boyfriend takes his singing up a notch as if to show how much more serious he is getting against the corruption, maintaining this level even after Pico shoots him. In fact, the second half of the song sounds almost slightly hopeful while still having the darkness to it.
  • Same can be said about both songs in Week 10's climax, also both introduced in the same video and under the impression that each are a single long song.
    • "Blood Moon", the last of these songs against Evil Pico, has a sense of finality to it as things start to get more up close and personal with the corrupted shooter's final form. Parts of the instrumental are given limelight to also showcase BF and GF thinking through the best possible options to save Pico.
    • Following straight on from that, "Brainstorm", while shorter, gives Pico himself the limelight as he shoots off the evil Tankmen trying to get at him, all while Boyfriend and Girlfriend root for him in succession. Helping matters is that this part of the story was shown off on Pico Day 2023, and Pico himself demonstrates why it's HIS day, sampling from every one of his base game songs during the victory lap.

    Week 11
  • Hivemind is very probably THE best song of the mod; from the rock, the dubstep and the holy part at 1:50 until 2:12, it's perfect! Sure, Tank Amalgam only has a day, but damn, he got the best of all songs.
