- The girl that invented the Supermerge in Rabbid form. She lacks the tan muzzle circling the mouth like the others and is more action-y.
- We now know that said Rabbid is known as Edge. But we don't know if she uses that name to hide who she's a Rabbid version of.
- Dialogue from the demo may imply that Edge is a former "Spark Hunter" created by Cursa who defected to the good side.
- And further proof comes in the form of the battle against Darkmess Edge which reveals more of her backstory.
- The Rabbid is actually a Spark. the other Rabbids in the M+R Universe were usually just Rabbids that got altered to resemble something you'd see in the Mario series, or inanimate objects resembling rabbids. Mario's spaceship noted that some sequences of Rabbid and Luma DNA matched. Obviously DNA sequences would have similarity even between species, so we're probably going to assume LEGO Genetics.
The Spark would probably be cultivated by Bowser, or assumed some of his form to allow her to assume the form of a Rabbid for survival, to avoid having her spark taken by the villain. They're probably going to base her initial personality as a bounty hunter who sides with Mario, who's unaware that she'll probably sell Mario out for her own survival (or her own benefit), to reveal that she's a Jerk with a Heart of Gold. then pull a Luke Skywalker when it's revealed that in some part, Bowser is (genetically) her father (again, just because of Spark-Luma-Rabbid DNA similarities). maybe they'll pull the same thing twice if it's revealed that the villain is a Posessed Rosalina?
Lumas can already transform into a planet, or even into a whole Galaxy to neutralize a black hole. if life can thrive in a galaxy from a Luma mass, then a Luma could probably become an sentient lifeform, say, a human, toad, rabbid or possibly Koopa.
- There's already evidence for the last part, as some Lumas transform into Star Bunnies in the Galaxy games.
- Yeah, but the ones we've seen transform into Star Bunnies only take on the form temporarily. There's no evidence that they can permanently assume said forms.
- There's already evidence for the last part, as some Lumas transform into Star Bunnies in the Galaxy games.
- The idea behind the WMG is Jossed, due to Edge being created by Cursa to be a Spark Hunter, but because Cursa did have Bowser's data due to them being a fragment of the Megabug, that is where she gets her resemblance to Bowser instead.
- Mr. Dark, or an Expy thereof. Obviously Evil, wears a face and body obscuring cloak, has floating limbs, the Sparks of Hope antagonist seems to check off all the boxes.
- Alternatively, Cursa is actually a Rabbid Mr. Dark, which is basically Mr. Dark with an extra dose of utter insanity.
- An existing Mario series villain, possibly a reborn Dimentio.
- It's improbable nowadays for Paper Mario characters to be featured outside the Paper Mario games.
- A possessed Rosalina. Cursa has that broken star symbol on its "chest" about where Rosalina's star brooch is, a feminine-sounding name, and the trailer featured a pointed shot of Rabbid Rosalina giving it a Death Glare. Not to mention, Bowser's on the box art, which would seem to point towards him being the ninth playable character.
- Bowser is confirmed to be the final playable character, but still no confirmation as to who Cursa really is yet.
- Seemingly confirmed by the story reveal trailer. Cursa's eye briefly turns into the sparkly blue eye of—you guessed it—Rosalina, who's apparently doing her damndest to fight it.
- Confirmed. Cursa is a Megabug fragment possessing Rosalina.
- Well, more like half confirmed, because the final phase of the final boss has you fighting Cursa by helping Rosalina. Cursa is the fragment of the Megabug, who just happens to take over Rosalina until you free her, after which she helps you to defeat Cursa.
- Rayman, It's pretty obvious that he's sick of the rabbids stealing his spotlight
- Jossed: Rayman makes his return as part of the Rayman in the Phantom Show DLC expansion.
- They will all star in a dlc story.
- Yoshi and Rabbid Yoshi are said to not make a return in this game or the DLC. However, it is confirmed that Rayman will make his return.
- Looks to be Jossed, unless any more DLC is released.
- Jossed - instead, Beep-O made a Rabbideese to English translator, which allows for the cast to understand what the Rabbids are saying.
- Jossed - Tom Phan doesn't appear in the game as a boss.
- He has appeared in the trailer for the Rayman DLC.
- While the WMG is still Jossed, Tom Phan does sing a song about Rayman (and the Rabbids) as the Final Boss of the Rayman in the Phantom Show DLC.
- Jossed. It's a Megabug fragment that's possessing Rosalina that is Cursa, and they created Edge apparently.
- So would this mean that extended time in Rayman's world would cause Toads to undergo Sanity Slippage?
- Rayman Legends DOES have two worlds where toads are the main enemies...
- Jossed. They still look like Lumas.
The reason Mario and Rayman didn't meet up is because this plot is being saved for a potential third installment. Possibly along the lines of Mario and company stumbling upon Rayman, who is now the leader of a reformed rabbid army.
- if we do get a third game, the Phantom could absolutely be the main villain considering in the DLC, he was the Big Bad wanting to get revenge. Furthermore, he could have the Spark Hunters along with Kanya as his Quirky Miniboss Squad since as Edge pointed out at the end of the base game, they'll be looking for a new line of work now that Cursa's gone.
