Awesome / Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope

Go To

In the game where the Marioverse and Rabbidverse converge, there is no shortage of genuinely awesome and cathartic moments that have players rooting for them to the end.

As a Moments subpage, all spoilers are unmarked as per policy. You Have Been Warned.

  • Princess Peach gets a very cool moment after the Darkmess Manta ends up abducting her Rabbid counterpart. Even when she tries to calm the situation, she gets a determined look at Mario, with the latter running to her and jumping on her hands and she gives her a boost to get on the giant manta so he can save Rabbid Peach. It's also heartwarming when you realize how it hammers home how the princess herself went through these scenarios.
  • After Mario managed to catch up to Rabbid Peach, she managed to release the Darkmess Manta's fin and landed on its back before she took out her Triple-Troll weapon like a boss and she is not even shaken up by what just happened to her.
  • When Twinkle is being chased by the Stooges, with two of them attempting to block the Heroes' path, most of the heroes get into a fighting stance, but Rabbid Mario takes the initiative by jumping ahead of them and defeating them with a single punch and kissing his fist.
  • Just about everything surrounding the mysterious Edge often falls into this territory:
    • Edge's introduction involves a huge Big Damn Heroes moment before she reveals herself. Just as Twinkle is being cornered by the Stooges with one of them trying to pounce on it, she throws her flying sword, slaying the Stooge before it returns to her, and her hand comes out of the waterfall to catch it.
    • Her proper reveal has her confidently walking out of the falls and taunts the Stooges with a disapproving Finger Wag to provoke them to attack her. She immediately jumps into the field and easily managed to dispatch all of them, which impresses the onlooking Heroes (with Rabbid Mario instantly falling in love with her and Rabbid Peach clearly becoming jealous of her)
    • The moment also becomes heartwarming when Edge smiles gently at Twinkle and stabs her Flying Blade into the floor and assuringly beckons it to approach her, as if promising that she will not hurt it.
    • Even with the touching moment being disrupted by the Giant Wildclaw, Edge fearlessly stands her ground as it jumps towards her and giving it a Death Glare before putting up a confident smile as it growls at her and the rest of the heroes. Edge is NOT scared here and instead takes the Flying Blade from the floor and gives a louder snarl right back at it.
  • As Edge and Midnite confront each other, the former quietly makes it clear she has no intentions of ever returning to Cursa's side again.
    • And after Midnite's defeat, Edge has her Flying Blade in hand as she corners her, but she chooses to spare her life to show she still values her.
  • The fight between Bowser and Bedrock shows the two of them locking arms and while Bowser sees Mario and the gang and returns his focus, Bedrock becomes distracted when Edge just shamelessly grins at her, long enough for Bowser to take advantage of it and gives her a headbutt and ends up gloating too early before Bedrock gets the upper hand and throws him into the Darkmess Tentacle.
  • During the Wiggler chase scene, Sullivan calmly speeds up the train to get further ahead of the pursuing beast to get the heroes to their destination.
  • Rosalina temporarily manages to break free after Daphne is defeated and she uses her magic to open the portal to help the Heroes escape the Darkmess Dimension before she is retaken by Cursa.
    • Immediately after this happens, Edge instantly takes charge and instructs Mario to enter the portal and leads the Heroes to safety.
  • Even when Darkmess Bowser and Darkmess Edge were major obstacles in Cursa's Stronghold, neither of their real counterparts were fazed before the battles, with Bowser taking this personally while Edge declares that Cursa does not know what she's made of and is determined to show it.
    • What happens after the battle with Darkmess Edge also counts as heartwarming: the Heroes refuse to have Edge cast out of their group after she reveals her origins and instead provide comfort due to her being a true hero she is.
  • Rabbid Rosalina may be the Sleepy Head most of the time, but she is not the kind who can be easily trifled with. When her father-figure, Captain Orion gets captured by Midnite in front of her, she cocks her Kaboomer like a shotgun and glares at Midnite.
  • Most of the wardens do not get much action in the main game, but in The Last Spark Hunter, Allegra is the only warden who plays an active role in the battle against Kanya with her riding on the back of the freed Dorrie, who is her best friend and helps the heroes activate the tower to deactivate Kanya's Mecha King Bob-omb's invincibility to turn the tide in their favor.
  • Rosalina herself deserves a mention, after she finally breaks free of Cursa's hold, to Rabbid Rosalina's joy. Cursa barely managed to survive and rises and the heroes warn her and she shields herself and faces it as Cursa takes on its true form. As the heroes, Mario, Princess Peach, Rabbid Mario, and Rabbid Luigi warn Rosalina in alarm, along with Bowser, Rabbid Rosalina, Luigi, and Rabbid Peach get tough with it, and Edge grins as she tugs on one of her gloves and snaps them like a badass, ready for the next round.
    • Since Cursa is out of reach of direct attack, Rosalina gives them the means to help them attack it, by having them strike the giant star wands powers up Rosalina's wand and she will attack directly at Cursa once she gains enough power.
  • The drained Sparks that were released along with Rosalina, finally get a satisfying moment by using themselves as a laser by going through one of the wand weapons to critically damage Cursa, getting back at it for causing them and their adoptive mother much suffering for the majority of the game.
  • This is soon followed by the heroes get their weapons ready, charge them up, and charging them up and in a Crowning Moment of Awesome, they open fire at the same time, and Rosalina combines their ammunition into a single golden arrow and managed to destroy them with Mario glaring at it as it faces its demise.
  • Even as Beep-0 is saddened over the fact that they could not save all of the Sparks, Rosalina assures him that energy can never be destroyed, but altered and managed to restore the Sparks to normal to show that their efforts weren't in vain.
