A recent update is going to bring back Princess Daisy and a few new worlds. You must go through these worlds and rescue her. You know where this is going.- Jossed. Bowser is the one to fight for her freedom instead.
In a future update, Bowser will become Promoted to Playable.
Which either means that he can either fight himself (once again) or another version of Bowser (e.g. Dry Bowser) will be fought when playing as Bowser. And if there is a different version of Bowser or another villain entirely as the boss in the next update, they will also hold an unlockable character captive until their defeat. Defeating them as Bowser will have him rescue and unlock the boss' captive: Bowser Jr.. Papa Wolf to the maximum!Waluigi will be Promoted to Playable In a future update.
Because if Daisy can be Promoted to Playable, surely Waluigi can!- Maybe a slight chance. Waluigi haven't have any appearances in a main Super Mario game (only shout outs), while Daisy appeared and debuted in Super Mario Land. Wario should be playable first (had a debut appearance in Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, and Promoted to Playable in Super Mario 64 DS). We can't have Waluigi without Wario.
- The abilities for Wario: low jumps, faster falling. Waluigi can have the breaststroke swimming ability (midair dash).
Rosalina will be Promoted to Playable again in a future update, along with a new mode.
