- All-Star Cast:
- There's no shortage of impressive names in the cast with Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Ray Fisher, Djimon Hounsou, Bae Doona, Ed Skrein, Anthony Hopkins, Jena Malone, Cary Elwes, Alfonso Herrera, Corey Stoll and Ray Porter.
- The Japanese dub is not behind this, as it features a pretty unusual cast of young and veteran Anime voice actors for a dub of a Netflix production, including Miyuki Sawashiro (Kora), Fumihiko Tachiki (General Titus), Tomokazu Sugita (Kai), Chikahiro Kobayashi (Gunnar), Shunsuke Takeuchi (Tarak), Jun'ichi Suwabe (Darrian), Hiroshi Kamiya (Admiral Noble), and Michihiro Ikemizu (Jimmy).
- The Latin American Spanish dub does the same, except that the list is even more longer, since basically almost every character, including minor and random roles, is voiced by a long-time veteran voice actor, including some well-known names like Carla Castañeda (Kora), Noe Velazquez (Gunnar), Carlo Vázquez (Admiral Noble), Irwin Daayán (Kai), Enrique Cervantes (General Titus), Idzi Dutkiewicz (Darrian), Luis Fernando Orozco (Tarak), Irina Indigo (Nemesis), José Luis Orozco (Jimmy), José Antonio Macías (Balisarius), René García (Hagen), Ricardo Tejedo (Sindri), Raúl Anaya (Commander Faunus), José Gilberto Vilchis (Den), Xóchitl Ugarte (Harmada), and too many to list here.
- The same goes with the European Spanish dub, as the list include both young and veteran voice actors, including Cristina Mauri (Kora), Masumi Mutsuda (Tarak), Miguel Ángel Jenner (Hagen), Eduard Farello (Sindri), Alfonso Valles (General Titus), David Brau (Darrian), and others.
- Celebrity Voice Actor: In the Japanese dub, the Rough Man is voiced by movie actor Wataru Ichinose.
- Copiously Credited Creator: As with Army of the Dead, Zack Snyder produced, wrote, directed, handled the camera work and did the cinematography on this one.
- Divorced Installment: While the idea didn't originate as such, Snyder pitched Rebel Moon as a potential Star Wars movie to Lucasfilm sometime between Revenge of the Sith and the studio's acquisition by Disney in 2012, and possibly again when Lucasfilm were exploring spin-offs under Disney, and one of the contention points reportedly was that Snyder didn't use established Star Wars characters in his story (meaning it was essentially devoid of Wolverine Publicity). The project was then redeveloped as a new IP by producer Eric Newman and Snyder, first as an original television series, before settling on a film and Expanded Universe when Netflix became interested. Deborah Snyder later admitted that she was glad it didn't end up tied to Star Wars.
- Dueling Works: Part 1 came out in December 2023, three months before Dune: Part Two, another epic Space Opera about La Résistance against a galaxy-wide empire. And Part 2 will come out one month after Dune: Part Two.
- Inspiration for the Work: For this universe, Snyder was influenced by Akira Kurosawa's Jidaigeki films (The Hidden Fortress itself served as one of many inspirations to Star Wars), particularly Seven Samurai, as well as Heavy Metal. Star Wars was also seemingly among the inspirations, since he once pitched the project to Lucasfilm as a Star Wars film.
- Multiple Languages, Same Voice Actor: As traditionally done on other Netflix's dubs, Alfonso Herrera dubs himself as Cassius in the Latin American Spanish dub.
- Official Fan-Submitted Content: Snyder organized a US-only contest for original ideas for aliens, creatures, or mechanized characters who might fit into the Rebel Moon world. A lot of A.I.-Generated Artwork had to be weeded out upon the first submissions and a new round of them had to be done as a result. Ten people won.
- The Other Marty: Ed Skrein replaced Rupert Friend as Admiral Noble mid-filming. Friend had to exit the project due to scheduling conflicts.
- Production Posse: Snyder collaborates once again with a few people.
- Ray Fisher played Victor Stone/Cyborg in his DC Extended Universe films (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, both versions of Justice League).
- Ray Porter portrayed Darkseid in Zack Snyder's Justice League and also has a voice role in the upcoming animated series Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas.
- Jena Malone played Rocket in Sucker Punch and Jenet Klyburn in the extended edition of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
- Screenwriters Shay Hatten (Army of the Dead and Army of Thieves — the latter was produced by Snyder) and Kurt Johnstad (300).
- Composer Junkie XL, who worked with him on 300: Rise of an Empire (produced and written by Snyder), his DC Extended Universe films (uncredited on Man of Steel) and Army of the Dead.
- Ingvar Eggert Sigurðsson was the Icelandic mayor in both versions of Justice League.
- Similarly Named Works: There's an obscure 1995 DOS Science Fiction First-Person Shooter video game called Rebel Moon.
- Underage Casting: Balisarius's actor, Fra Fre, is five years younger than Sofia Boutella who plays his character's adopted daughter.
- What Could Have Been: Netflix cancelled the Evil Genius Games Tabletop RPG that was to be based off the Rebel Moon universe for "breach of contract" after visuals of the game's guides leaked online. The tabletop game company then sued them, and the dispute was apparently "amicably resolved".
