The Rebels in Rebel Moon have many skills. They are battle-hardened and proven. But the greatest thing they have over the Imperium... is love.
Trailers
- According to Snyder, Motherworld encourages its soldiers to fall in love so they have a reason to fight. A far-cry from other empires. Kora herself fell in love with a soldier... only to lose him in battle.
- Kora might have believed that Love Is a Weakness, but if the trailers are anything to go by, she doesn't believe that anymore. She cares deeply for the people of Veldt and for Gunnar, who in turn is willing to follow her on a dangerous adventure.
- This applies to people of Veldt. They took Kora in, despite the danger her existence pose to them. They accepted her as one of their own. Turns out, their kindness might win them freedom from the Motherworld once and for all.
- Nemesis defending a child from Harmada. Note that to begin with her flaming swords are 'off'. It is only after Harmada refuses to back down that she turns them on. Like she said: "There is a difference between Justice and Revenge."
- Jimmy becoming acquainted with the residents of Veldt, with one of them giving him a flower wreath. When he first 'awakened', he was lost, having no one to protect. Now he seems to have gained a new purpose.
- Tarak bonding with the Bennu (the black gryphon). In all other scenes, it is angry and wild. But when Tarak pets it, it calms down and gives a look of appreciation.
- Kora reaching out to touch the wings of the Bennu as it soars past her, free for the first time in years.
- Titus rallying the Rebels with the quote at the top, reminding them of what they are fighting for. Not for money. Not for revenge. Not even for redemption. For their ones that they love and hold dear. Including each other.
Part 1: A Child of Fire
- Sam befriending Jimmy and gifting him a flower crown. Jimmy tells her the story of Princess Issa and says she reminds him of her.
- Darrian chooses to join the group fighting for Veldt and asks for volunteers. Milius is the first to join.
- Though Devra disagrees with Darrian's decision, they embrace as they part.
