Films — Live-Action

  • In the 2005 remake of Fun with Dick and Jane, one of Dick and Jane's disguises during their crime spree are the Blues Brothers, breaking into a jewelry store by driving through with their neighbor's Mercedes-Benz.

Literature

  • In the Bernice Summerfield novel Oh No It Isn't!, Bernice is approached by a pair of men wearing dark suits and sunglasses who inform her that they're on a mission from God. (In this case, 'God' is the nickname of a super-powerful AI who Bernice met on an earlier adventure.)
  • Discworld:
    • In Moving Pictures, the spirit of Holy Wood inspires a character who's about to embark on an epic road trip with a version of the "106 miles to Chicago" speech. He's bemused by what his mouth comes out with:
"It's fifteen hundred miles to Ankh-Morpork, we've got three hundred and sixty-three elephants, fifty carts of forage, the monsoon's about to break and we're wearing... we're wearing... sort of things, like glass, only dark... dark glass things on our eyes..."
    • Soul Music:
      • Two musicians are engaged in a legally-dubious task entrusted to them by their bandmate Glod. When one expresses concern about a nearby policeman, the other replies, "He can't stop us. We're on a mission from Glod."
      • At a diner, Glod and Cliff order four fried rats and some coke (as in the coal derivative: Cliff belongs to a species who Eat Dirt, Cheap). Imp asks for a slice of dwarf bread.
      • When Glod and Cliff go to the music shop: "Are you the Watch?" "No, ma'am. We're musicians."
      • When Mr. Clete is at the festival with his enforcers. "There's a hot dog seller over there. Anyone else fancy a hot dog? Hot dog? Hot dog? Right, that's three hot d—"
  • In The Roosevelt, Emmet's favorite movie is The Blues Brothers. He memorized it when he was little, and for a few years communicated almost entirely in Blues Brothers quotes. Now he can come up with his own words, but he still likes to recite along to the movie, and can do a very accurate Elwood impression. He thinks Elwood is autistic, like he is. When the residents of The Roosevelt go trick-or-treating, Emmet, Jeremey, and David dress as Blues Brothers, even though there's one too many of them.

Live-Action TV

  • Drake & Josh: In the aptly-titled "Blues Brothers", Drake and Josh put together a routine based on the bluesmen, bringing it out at a Talent Show when an acapella group steals the song Drake was going to perform. Earlier in the episode, Drake can also be seen watching the film on his TV (specifically the scene where the Mystery Woman blows up a phone booth that the brothers are using). Incidentally, despite the film being the point of focus in the episode, the song Drake and Josh perform is a Cover Version of Sam & Dave's "Soul Man", which was not in the movie, but rather was featured in one of the original Saturday Night Live skits.
  • Radio Enfer: When Carl and Léo become popular thanks to their comic published in Vincent's newspaper, they start wearing sunglasses to remain incognito, causing Dominique to call them the Blues Brothers.

Video Games

  • In Left 4 Dead 2, one of the stores in the mall in Dead Center is called "Disco Pants and Haircuts", and Nick remarks that there's "lots of space in this mall" when he sees it.

Web Comics

Western Animation

  • Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends:
    • One episode of the series is entitled "Bloo's Brothers". In this episode, Mac takes Bloo to school for show and tell. The kids love Bloo so much, that they imagine their own versions of Bloo. Tons of Bloo clones are created, and the real Bloo dubs them his brothers and himself their leader.
    • "Bye Bye Nerdy" gives us this gem:
Bloo: It's a hundred and six blocks to Mac, I've got a full bladder, half a mind where I'm going, it's Tuesday and I'm wearing sunglasses.
      Frankie: (opens window) Hit it!
  • Phineas and Ferb:
    • "Bubble Boys" has Perry (and Candace) do some Parallel Parking lifted from the movie.
    • From "Summer Belongs to You!":
Phineas: It's 4:00, we're in a baguette boat, with a fuel tank full of snail grease.
