- B.O.B. from Monsters vs. Aliens is based on the Blob, only sentient and The Ditz. The shot of B.O.B.'s blue mass flowing out the doors of laboratory he was created in is exactly the same as shot of the Blob coming out of the front doors of the theater.

- In My Science Project, Vince says, "This is like the Blob: the more power it eats, the stronger it gets."
- The Simpsons: In "Treehouse of Horror XVII", the first story is about Homer becoming a giant, insatiable blob after eating a mysterious goo from outer space.
