- Imagine Spot: Lan Wangji has several imagine spots when he assumes Wei Wuxian is either upset or in pain from his brawl with Jin Zixuan.
- Inelegant Blubbering: Lan Wangji imagines Wei Wuxian trying and failing to not sob about how he inconvenienced Jiang Fengmian by getting into a fight with Jin Zixuan.
- Mythology Gag: Wei Wuxian drawing out Lan Wangji's Punny Name is something he also did in the main Animated Adaptation when he was made to do his punishment under the latter's supervision.
- Not So Above It All: While Lan Wangji leaves in annoyance before Wei Wuxian is able to show him his "masterpiece", he can't help but want to see it for himself, causing him to return to the anthill the latter dug up in the evening.
- Punny Name: Lan Wangji's name sounds similar to lang wang ji (狼望鸡), which translates to "wolf looking at chicken". Wei Wuxian pokes fun at it by drawing the two animals with the ants, which Lan Wangji doesn't find amusing.
