Wei Wuxian attempts to give Lan Wangji a birthday gift when they reunite in a Discussion Conference.
- Freeze-Frame Bonus: If you look at Wei Wuxian's calligraphy more closely, you can see that it reads "Lan Wangji is so attractive".
- Hammerspace: Wei Wuxian manages to whip out a giant gift box from nowhere. He also pulls out a scroll, a book and a plate of food from out of thin air when suggesting present ideas to Lan Wangji.
- Luminescent Blush: Lan Wangji's ears turn red after Wei Wuxian offers him a birthday "bouquet" made of split arrows, touched by the surprisingly nice gesture.
- Motor Mouth: The announcer is forced to talk really fast without getting a chance to catch his breath when Wei Wuxian Lan Wangji continue firing at the archery targets in rapid succession.
- Mythology Gag: One of the gifts Wei Wuxian offers Lan Wangji is an "entry level" erotic book, referencing when the latter lost his composure from seeing erotica for the first time in the novel and main series. An irritated Lan Wangji quickly rejects it.
- Splitting the Arrow: Every bullseye Lan Wangji hits, Wei Wuxian follows it up with his own arrow piercing and splitting the former's arrow. They start rapidly firing to the point where the poor announcer can barely keep up anymore.
