Basic Trope: A character hates a certain kind of food.
- Straight: Alice doesn't like bacon.
- Exaggerated:
- Alice hates anyone who likes bacon.
- Bacon is like Kryptonite to Alice.
- Alice hates bacon enough to perform superhuman feats just to avoid eating it...
- ...and apples, and kebab, and bread, and milk, and lindberg cheese, and coconuts, and wild rice, and brown sugar, and grilled chicken....
- Alice literally hates every food in existence.
- Downplayed:
- Alice doesn't like adding bacon to certain foods.
- Alice will eat bacon, but she won't enjoy it and will probably complain about eating it.
- Justified:
- Alice follows a meat-free diet.
- Alice just doesn't like bacon.
- Alice is Jewish/Muslim, and pigs aren't kosher/halal.
- Alice is a Seventh-day Adventist and does not consume pork, shellfish, alcohol, tobacco or caffeinated drinks.
- Alice had a traumatic Noodle Incident which makes her scared of bacon.
- Alice had a heart-breaking Noodle Incident which made her feel sorry for the pigs.
- Alice is allergic to bacon.
- Inverted: Alice loves bacon.
- Subverted: Alice just thought she didn't like bacon when it is revealed she has not tried it before.
- Double Subverted: But when she does try it she doesn't like it.
- Parodied:
- Alice thinks there ought to be a law against bacon.
- Alice refuses to eat bacon at a meal... just as a news bulletin for a missing person named Bacon sounds.
- Zig-Zagged: Sometimes Alice likes bacon, sometimes she doesn't.
- Averted: All characters like all foods.
- Enforced:
- "We need to give Alice something to hate, but we don't want her to sound like she hates everything. Let's give her a least favorite food."
- Lampshaded: "I hate bacon."
- Invoked: Bob prepares Alice's first bacon she eats in a way she'll hate.

- Bob poisons food for a large dinner, then puts an antidote in the bacon so only Alice will be killed by the poison.
- Alice is threatened to be served nothing but bacon if she keeps acting up.
- Defied: Alice tries bacon again in a different way, hoping that she will like it.
- Discussed: "What do you have against bacon, Alice?" "I dunno, Bob, I just really don't like it."

- Played for Laughs: Alice is a Large Ham and gives a hammed-up speech on why all pig products are disgusting... Especially ham!

- Alice is invited to a party, but the main food is bacon, causing her to storm out in anger.
- Alice's Sitcom Arch-Nemesis Bob sneaks some bacon in her food as a prank but with full understanding that it's a Kick the Dog moment for him, and the reaction of everybody else in the cast when he reveals it cements it.
- Played For Horror:
- Alice's Sitcom Arch-Nemesis Bob sneaks some bacon in her food, either not knowing that she's deadly allergic to it and getting first-place seats to watching his prank go very horribly wrong or knowing this and hoping it will kill her.
- Alice's reaction to people offering her bacon is negative, excessive, violent and often lethal.
- After dying, Alice winds up in an Ironic Hell where there is the food she could ever need to last enternities... in the form of bacon. She utterly refuses to eat even a single piece even as she starves.
