General

  • Shane is one of the cruelest humans in the entire Pacific Rim series, making the likes of Hannibal Chau look like a saint. Not only he murders his subordinates for failure or insubordination but he also uses his drift technology to perform Mind Rape on people like what he did to Taylor and Mei. He even kills Joel in Episode 5, just to make an example of him to show what happens to those who turn on him.
  • Apex is one of the Kaiju drones that were defeated in the last film but unlike the others, Apex manages to survive that and became a seemingly mindless beast, attacking both Jaegar and Kaiju.

Season 1

    Episode 1: From The Shadows
  • As a result of Atlas Destroyer's activation, several alarms go off at the Shadow Basin base, causing a Copperhead Kaiju to hear them and head straight for the village. During its rampage, we actually see people gruesomely die. One of these poor victims is Kevin, one of Taylor and Shannon's friends, who gets instantly crushed to death.
    • Later, we see Shannon and Rosa's corpses, the latter of which was sticking out of the rubble, quickly giving Hayley a very harsh reality check that her actions can and will have permanent consequences.

    Episode 4: Up and Running
  • Doubles as an awesome moment. As Mei and Taylor are running from the Copperhead Kaiju in Atlas Destroyer, Mei orders several mines to be detonated in an attempt to kill it. None of them kill it, and Copperhead keeps chasing them. In the final explosion that's the size of a nuke, all it does is knock out the Kaiju, cementing the reality of the situation, as well as the one singular fact that explains why the Jaegers were built from the get-go - nothing can stand a chance against the Kaiju.

    Episode 5: Escaping Bogan
  • Also a Tear Jerker, but Joel's death. During his escape from Shane alongside Taylor, Hayley, Mei, and Boy, Shane sends a message via Mei's radio, which Joel picks up instead. The message was that Shane has a contingency plan for anyone who turns against him. Joel doesn't realize what this means until the radio blows up in his face and kills him instantly .
    • What's worse is that we see the blood splatter all over Mei as she, Taylor, and Hayley witness everything, as his body falls to the floor, twitching. The last scene of this episode is Mei's reaction, as her eyes widen and her expression grows more horrified.

    Episode 7: Showdown
  • The final scene introduces us to the Sisters, in which their most notable feature being their masks with blood coming out of their eye holes. That last part implies that these Sisters had drifted with a Kaiju brain and are now under the thrall of the Precursors.
