Fridge Brilliance

  • The first part of Atlas Destroyer's name, Atlas is derived from the ancient Titan of Greek Mythology who was condemned to hold the world. Hayley's actions in activating Atlas Destroyer is a symbolic showing of her breaking the status quo of the world all the while her bearing the world's burden like Atlas has to bear the weight of the world.
    • Atlas Destroyer, particularly Loa has some kind of relationship with Horizon Bravo. Could it be that she has done a grave sin against the Heavens (PPDC)?
    • Atlas had to keep in place, holding up the world, or horrible things would happen. What happens when Atlas Destroyer starts to move? Alarms and noise that summons Copperhead, destroying the "world" our heroes have known for the past five years.
    • It can't be a coincidence that the Jaegar destroyed was called Marauder Zeus, named after the Greek King of Gods who punished Atlas.
    • In Episode 6, Atlas Destroyer gains a new arm belonging to Chaos Nemesis, the last part of the name being based on the Greek Goddess of Divine Retribution and Revenge. By Episode 7, Taylor and Hayley finally have vengeance against Copperhead for murdering their friends.
  • Rickter's name is based on the Richter scale. So humorously, his death means breaking the Richter scale.
  • Why would Taylor pick Herc to "Ghost-Drift" rather than Raleigh or Pentecost? That's because Taylor doesn't know them, with Pentecost being dead and Raleigh being missing-in-action by the time of Pacific Rim: Uprising. Taylor might have personally met Herc when he was a cadet.
  • Boy possesses white hair while Apex possesses black skin like Light and Dark. This is the yin-yang symbol of Chinese lore, representing harmony and balance. Much like Jaegars, Boy and Apex performed a neural handshake and found peace.
  • The entire first season, Boy is walking around without any sort of protective footwear, even after he gets clothes. Yet he never shows any sign of pain or discomfort, and when we get a look at his soles when he perches on Atlas's visor there's not so much as a single scratch or blister. Could be just a bit of unrealism to suspend disbelief about...until you remember how the snake couldn't break his skin, and of course, his taking a bullet to the head with no damage whatsoever. His lack of a need for shoes is another, more subtle sign of his inhuman durability.
    • It also makes perfect sense when you get to the twist that Boy is actually a Kaiju.

Fridge Horror

  • Shane used Drift technology to Mind Rape Mei into his loyal Dragon and daughter he never had, and the same tech to interrogate Taylor for information. If he'd thought it was worth his time and effort, might he have done the same to Taylor and his little sister? What would he have taken from Hayley and Taylor in the process? Who would he have transformed these sweet young kids into?
    • It also begs the question as to how he even figured out how to do it in the first place, and just how many people have fallen victim to it. Maybe those Riders of his weren't always so loyal to him, to begin with...
  • Rickter decided in a moment of sadism to kill the small child Boy first, thankfully, due to Boy's nature, this turned out for the best. What would Boy have done if Rickter killed Hayley and/or Taylor first? Shane and Rickter could have accidentally killed the entire human race, depending on the importance of Boy's attachments.
