Fridge Brilliance

  • In Racconto, it's revealed that Jigglypuff is the reigning Smash King (or rather, Smash Queen), and has been for four years. Come Smash King HD, and she struggles against even the most basic opponents. Jigglypuff was heavily nerfed in both Brawl and Smash 4, explaining why she struggles against opponents who are of a higher tier.
  • Bowser beating the crap out of Wario after the whole Kirby incident in Episode 2 isn't just Bowser being spiteful. After all, dying outside of a tournament match or New Pork City causes a character to lose one of their ten-life stock. Meaning Bowser has every reason to want to get revenge!
  • Episode 5 introduces us to Zelda, who arrives late to Bowser's house party due to a previous engagement. We later learn that she (along with Samus, Snake, and Wolf) are seeking a mysterious entity called "R", and have plans to capture Bowser: it's possible that their plan was in its initial stages at this time. Another possibility: they had just taken care of sealing away Ridley.
  • Bowser's "Dark Bowser" vision in Episode 13 can be seen as a portend of the future once Ridley conquers New Pork City, populating it with offshoots of himself in the same vein Dark Bowser does.
  • Captain Falcon's reincarnated self in "Rejoining the Brawl" doesn't get nearly as upset as his previous self was upon losing an impromptu race against Sonic. Given that Falcon has just been reborn though, he likely hasn't had that much time to build up the ego his past self had, making his subdued reaction understandable.
  • The world in 2Decades is referred to as "Chiaroscuro." In art, chiaroscuro is a blending of light and shadow, fitting with the theme of light and dark present in Ultimate's World of Light.
  • Link's backstory of being put under tremendous pressure to live up to his past incarnations' legacy is only further reinforced when you realize that in Melee, he was also classified as a low-tier character. Given the incredibly classist system enforced back then, it's not hard to see how this would have factored into Link choosing not to speak up. If he had tried to voice his own desire to be free of his obligations, he would have likely lost the expectations...but he would have also lost the "respect" for his legacy from his fellow fighters, in turn likely leading to them discriminating against him for being worthless in both legacy AND tier. Regardless of what he does, he's basically trapped with no good solutions. Forced to endure a legacy he doesn't want or care for, or forced to endure discrimination if he can't live up to it. No wonder he snapped.

Fridge Horror

  • In Episode 17, Bowser mentions that Ganondorf somehow managed to replicate Queen Peach's technique of altering matrices, and engrave it into his sword. Back in Episode 9, after transporting Ike and Link to negative space/ the Twilight Realm, Ganon remarks how "Relearning everything was such a chore." Assuming this includes the aforementioned matrix manipulation, Ganondorf is free to kill anyone who gets in his way...even Bowser.
  • With Ganondorf back in the Fourth World, what exactly could he be up to this time?
  • The Realm of the Creator lies above New Pork City, and Ridley was sealed directly beneath it. How close was Ridley to usurping the Creator and conquering the world before Samus and the others sealed him away?
    • Takes on a different meaning due to Episode 19 delving into Ridley's origins, though no less horrifying to think about. Ganondorf personally transports Ridley to the caves beneath the city; is this a way to prepare for his goal of usurping the Creator himself?
