    My Driver Academia
  • Adaptation Name Change: Izuku first thinks of calling his technique "Full Cowling" like in canon, but decides that name is stupid and instead names it "Aegis Enchant".
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul:
    • In canon, Class 1-A treated Bakugou neutrally at worse and treated him as a classmate despite his negative traits. Here, he gets no such allowance and they treat him with contempt for his canon negative traits, especially when All Might makes clear in this story that Bakugou's behavior is so obviously unheroic.
    • All Might was friends with Sir Nighteye and regretted the falling out they had in canon. Here All Might sees Nighteye as a stalker that he got rid of and outright tells Izuku to stay away from him.
    • In canon, Aizawa was respected by his colleagues and students, and he respected them back, albeit in his own way. Here he shows outright hate for some of his students and no one likes him or feels bad when he's gone.
    • Endeavor and Rei have a significantly better relationship than in canon. While Rei is still locked in a mental ward, the two have been exchanging letter ever since she was admitted and they're now in an amicable Long-Distance Relationship. This is in contrast to canon where the two don't keep in contact at all.
  • Adaptation Species Change: Taiga is a human in the source material, but here he is a Blade that looks like a tiger.
  • Adaptational Badass:
    • Momo and Kaminari, by virtue of being Drivers of rare and powerful Blades.
    • Several characters also possess Conqueror's Haki such as All Might, Izuku, Momo, Bakugo, and Tomura.
  • Adaptational Early Appearance:
    • We see Melissa and David Shield shortly after the Sports Festival, along with Melissa's Blade Haze.
    • Nighteye and Bubble Girl are seen watching the Sports Festival.
    • Multiple characters (Edgeshot, Miruko, the Wild Wild Pussycats, Kota, Ryukyu, Nejire,) due to certain characters taking different internships
    • Eri shows up during the spring internships.
    • The Meta Liberation Army members begin to appear after the spring internships.
  • Adaptational Jerkass:
    • Aizawa. Not only does he not like Drivers and Blades, deliberately rigging his Quirk assessment test to ensure that they end up at the bottom of the barrel, he downright says that Bakugo scored the highest in the Entrance Exam, even though Izuku and Pyra were the ones who took the top score and beaten All Might's record, both because he's a Driver and because he caught All Might's eye. Possibly veers into Adaptational Villainy when the Meta Liberation Army approaches him after he is fired from U.A.
    • Shinso. He's openly Quirkist against Izuku (going as far as to call him "baseline") and brainwashes his fellow Gen-Ed students into sabotaging themselves during the Sports Festival to give himself a better chance of winning. Possibly veers into Adaptational Villainy when the Meta Liberation Army approaches him.
    • Kirishima is antagonistic towards Drivers and Blades, thinking it's unmanly to rely on any power except your own. This puts him at odds with Izuku, Momo, and Kaminari, whom he was amicable towards in canon. This is later averted after the Sports Festival where he reflects on himself and starts to change.
    • Subverted with Hawks. While he has Bakugou as an apprentice, in actuality, he is just as disgusted with Bakugou as the rest of the world is, but the HPSC paid him to take Bakugou on. He mentally remarks that he will have to find and apologize to them and explain why he took Bakugou in the first place.
  • Adaptational Superpower Change: Reiko Yanagi canonically has the Quirk Poltergeist. Here, she's Quirkless and the Driver of Azami. She later becomes a Blade Eater after getting experimented and getting a Core Crystal in her chest.
  • Adaptational Wimp: Stain, instead of having his Bloodcurdle Quirk, is Quirkless. It doesn't make him any less dangerous, though, as he coats his blades in poison.
  • Adapted Out: Mineta doesn't attempt to peep on the girls when they all go to the hot springs, since Izuku and Denki would murder him for trying to peep on their girlfriends.
  • Alcohol-Induced Idiocy: In a flashback, Nishiki relays an incident where Shinji got so drunk during a party that he started doing the worm dance all over the HQ floor while yelling "Behold the power of wiggle!" The HQ floor of the guy with the reputation of killing subordinates for the slightest infractions, whom he was sent to spy on. Fortunately Nishiki found the thing hillarious, even if everyone else in the room was horrified.
  • Alternate Universe Fic: The Like a Dragon part of the crossover is quite different from the source material due to the main characters being born in completely different time periods. This is not helped by the amount of Noodle Incidents involved.
    • Akira Nishikiyama and Kazuma Kiryu lived and died in the early era of Quirks, being the Second and Third OfA users respectively. While we are told Kiryu went to prison for something Nishiki did, we are not told what. There is no mention of Yumi (which in canon is why Kiryu went to prison, Nishiki killed Dojima to defend her), and no mention of Haruka, Jingu, or the missing Tojo money. Things diverge even further after Nishiki meets Yoichi because he encourages Nishiki towards more heroic acts, narrowly averting Nishiki's Face–Heel Turn in the process.
    • Majima was born during the current era, so he was not around for any of Kiryu's exploits (completely unlike canon) and instead grew up hearing stories about him. Taiga is a Blade in this so the Ueno Seiwa Hit never happened. There was an incident revolving Majima, the Dojima Family, and Makoto Makimura, but there is absolutely no mention of the Empty Lot (which is the reason that it happened in canon) and no mention of Makoto's brother.
  • Amusing Alien: Many of the interactions between Blades and Drivers are played for laughs.
    • Pyra and Izuku's conversation when they first meet
    • Pyra's interactions with Mythra are mostly played for laughs.
    • Nia and Dromarch's relationship is like that of a parent and their child.
Pyra: Hehehe... (to Izuku) Their relationship is quite different from ours, isn't it?
      Izuku: How do you mean?
Pyra: Dromarch acts almost he's like Nia's caretaker, doesn't he?
    • Pyra and Brighid both claim their Driver is better than Izuku and Momo when they first meet.
    • Pandoria and Denki's (and later Adenine's) interactions.
    • Many people have a confused reaction to seeing Mythra for the first time.
    • The League's interactions.
    • Mei and Poppi's interactions with everyone.
  • The Bad Guy Wins: While Wolfram was stopped and the Quirk Amplifying Decive was destroyed, Aegaeon succeeded in his mission for All for One: Stealing Ophion from I-Island for Malos.
  • Battle Harem: Izuku gets one thanks to Pyra wanting to make up for everything that he had to go through. It contains her, Mythra, Blade Nana, Momo Yaoyorozu, Nia Hanekoma, Mei Hatsume, Reiko Yanagi, Ochaco Uraraka, Mina Ashido, Brighid, and Azami. And it's likely more girls will join later.
  • The Big Damn Kiss: After they get their gold medals for winning the Sports Festival, Pyra kisses Izuku on the podium in front of everyone watching.
  • Big Eater: Bakugou's soution to the salsa volcano is to drink it. ALL OF IT.
  • Bound and Gagged: Majima and Taiga do this to Present Mic so they can host the Sports Festival.
  • Brick Joke: When Mei brings Izuku to the lab to show him her work, she points to a sheet, Izuku asks if the sheet is the project, and Mei replies that the project is behind the sheet. Several chapters later, when Izuku and Mei are about to finish the project (Poppi), Nana dully believes that the sheet is the project, only for Izuku, Mei, and Pyra to simultaneously reply that the project is behind the sheet.
  • Broken Pedestal:
    • Because All Might wasn't able to find him after the Sludge Villain incident, Izuku loses practically all admiration he had of the Number One hero, going so far as to sell all of his All Might merchandise. Starts to be rebuilt when All Might manages to finally find Izuku to apologize for his behavior.
    • UA loses a lot of its lustre in 1-A's eyes because of the sheer amount of crap Aizawa does and Nedzu let him get away with in the past. Even with Nedzu taking steps to fix things, Izuku and several others cannot bring themselves to sincerely use the school's motto, instead using Goro's alternative motto of "Balls Out!", meaning roughly the same thing as "Plus Ultra!" but without UA's baggage.
    • Izuku and his friends lose any respect they had for Hawks when he reveals Bakugo is his apprentice and attempts to play down the latter's bullying and brutal actions as mere schoolyard squabbling.
  • Calling Me a Logarithm: When Ochako sees Izuku skating for the first time, she exclaims that he rides goofy. Mythra believes she's insulting Izuku, but Ochako states that "skating goofy" refers to Izuku's skating style.
  • Came Back Wrong: When Nana Shimura comes back as a Blade, she has no memories of her past life.
  • Cliffhanger:
    • Chapter 13 ends with Izuku stabbed in the back by "Fingers" and Pyra yelling his name.
    • Chapter 16 ends with Izuku summoning Nana as a Blade.
    • Chapter 27 and 32 both end as Izuku's fights during the Third round of the Sports Festival are about to start.
    • Chapter 44 ends with Izuku meeting Stain.
    • Chapter 46 ends with Izuku and Mythra returning from the Love Hotel where they have spent the night accompanied by Eri and Jin.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Multiple girls show possessive tendencies over Izuku.
    • Both Nia and Momo quickly develop an affection for Izuku. During the battle trials, while she only said it as part of her role as a villain, Momo did talk about taking Izuku as a pet, which quickly riled Nia up. And when All Might took Izuku and Pyra to talk after the trials, they both had the same thought: "He just took my rabbit!"
    • Nia constantly complains when other girls are affectionate with Izuku and openly admits to wanting him for herself.
    • Mythra does not like it when any of the girls get close to Izuku and actively argues with Pyra about the harem plan. It is revealed it is not because she dislikes the girls but because she genuinely thinks that she and Pyra will be forgotten about if Izuku gets the other girls.
    • Azami shoots Tokoyami when he tries to ask Reiko out.
    • Izuku's girlfriends have a sudden surge of jealousy the night Izuku loses his virginity to Pyra and Mythra.
  • Composite Character:
    • Izuku is one of Addam and Rex. All three are the Drivers of the Aegis, Izuku's hero costume is based on Addam's outfit, and he's the second Driver of the Aegis like Rex.
    • Momo is one of Mòrag, being the Drivers of Brighid. To drive the point home, during the battle trials, Momo takes up an Ardai- Scottish accent and even refers to herself as "Special Inquisitor Momo of the Yaoyorozu Criminal Empire".
    • Denki is one of Zeke, being the Driver of Pandoria.
    • Reiko becomes one to Mikhail, becoming a Blade Eater after a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown from Bakugo.
  • Cutting the Knot: During their practical exam, Denki, Mina, Pandoria, and Adenine realize they're being boxed in by Nezu, who is using his wrecking ball to turn the grounds into a maze. Denki comes up with the idea of combining Mina's Acid Attack with Adenine's Blow You Away to drill their way through the walls towards the exit.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Shinso is on the receiving end of two consecutive ones: first against Mina, who wants revenge for being used in the second event, and who surrenders so Izuku can give him the second.
  • Dating Catwoman: There is no actual dating involved, but Kurogiri has romantic feelings for Midnight, and it's all but stated he's been holding torch for her since highschool. Midnight doesn't know her old classmate is still alive though.
  • Death by Adaptation: Yoroi Musha was killed by the King of Hell years before the start of the story.
  • Delayed Reaction: In Chapter 72, when Mythra reveals she destroyed Alrest, everyone present save Izuku and Eri nod along before what she said truly sinks in and they yell out as one in surprise.
  • Destructo-Nookie: Izuku and Reiko wind up having their first time after making up from a severe argument between them, following the revelation of Izuku having One For All. They make love in the very classroom that they had their argument in, with it being stated in the next chapter that there wasn't much left of the classroom in question after they were done with it…including one of the walls.
  • Did Not See That Coming:
    • The League of Villains have a smart idea, trying to infiltrate the Summer Camp when every one of the heroes and students, or at least most of them, should be asleep. What they didn't realise was that the kids were receiving a lot of Heat training which would help them detect the League of Villains' killing intent, waking them up. The only reason the attack achieved any objectives is because the League had a card up their sleeves.
    • The heroes in turn did not foresee Yanagi and Azami being mind-controlled beforehand and the sleeper agents getting triggered to attack the heroes from a direction they never saw coming.
  • Disappointed by the Motive: Everyone who hears that Bakugou tormented Izuku because the latter tried to help him once are disgusted that Bakugou did so for such a nonsensical and irrational reason.
  • Downer Beginning: The fic begins with the destruction of Alrest at the end of the Aegis war, with Pyra using the Conduit to take the remaining Blades to a different universe.
  • Double Standard: Many point to Izuku’s No-Holds-Barred Beatdown of Bakugo during the Sports Festival as proof that Izuku isn’t fit to be a Hero, completely ignoring the fact that Bakugo had previously maimed Reiko so badly that she had to be rushed to the hospital.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Ryuji Goda hates taking hostages so when the Heroes go to save the captured Reiko and Ragdoll, he instantly tells them exactly where each hostage is located.
  • Everyone Calls Him "Barkeep": The One For All users refer to each other by numbers as opposed to names due to Yoichi's insistence that it adds mystery and sounds cooler. Izuku soon works out the identities of the second and third user: they are Akira Nishikiyama and Kazuma Kiryu, respectively.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Bubble Girl comes to meet Izuku to warn him about Nighteye's plotting.
  • Fantastic Ableism:
    • All of Aldera, staff, students, and Bakugo, hate and belittle Izuku just because he's Quirkless.
    • Aizawa is shown to be Quirkist, consistently putting Izuku down because of his Quirklessness and planning to convince Vlad to expel Reiko because she is also Quirkless.
    • Shinso readily calls Izuku "baseline" during their fight in the tournament.
    • Rikiya Yotsubashi regarded Izuku and Reiko Yanagi with disgust because both are Quirkless.
  • Fantastic Racism:
    • Bakugo downright hates Pyra and, by extension, other Blades.
    • Aizawa doesn't seem to have a very high opinion of Blades, either, so much so that he deliberately sabotaged Izuku, Nia, Momo, and Denki's scores during the Quirk assessment test, rigging the results to ensure they're in the lower half. He goes as far as to put Izuku at the absolute bottom of the rankings even though he admits to himself that Izuku's numbers would have put him in second place, on the grounds that he doesn't HAVE a Quirk to assess.
  • Fantastic Slur: "Baseline" and "Null" are used as slurs against the Quirkless.
  • Feel No Pain: As a result of being relentlessly bullied for years, Izuku a level of pain tolerance higher than blades. This extends to most quirkless people.
  • The Glomp: Inko's hugs are death traps. Izuku admits that with the way she shows affection, he's not used to actual affection, and he issues warnings to anyone about to visit his house.
  • Grievous Harm with a Body: Izuku uses Brighid as a club against Momo during their battle during the sports festival.
  • Groin Attack:
    • Nia keeps hitting Bakugo in the dick during their fight at the Sports Festival.
    • Izuku gives Bakugo a One for All-enhanced Tiger Drop to the gonads in their Sports Festival match.
    • Nia attacks Muscular's groin with her clawed foot during the Summer Camp attack.
  • Hero with Bad Publicity: The public adopts a much more negative view of Izuku when he admits (without knowing he was being recorded) that he's a descendant of Kazuma Kiryu, who is also a case of this trope. Many people start calling him a villain after this.
  • Hold the Line: Kirishima and Sato pass their exam when the former fights Cementoss head-on to give the latter the time he needs to get through the gate.
  • Immoral Journalist: Curious of the Meta Liberation Army picks the facts on Izuku and twists them to paint him in a bad light.
  • Innocently Insensitive: Basically Tsuyu. While she means no harm to anyone and just wants to have friends, she doesn't take into consideration other people's feelings. She insists that other people should be friends with her, insists that Kazuma Kiryu is a villain without looking into the matter herself or noticing how displeased everyone else is at her saying that, and has a tendency to jump to conclusions. Eventually Ochako calls her out on forcing other people into friendships with her.
  • In Spite of a Nail:
    • Mineta doesn't attempt to trick the girls into wearing cheerleader outfits during the Sports Festival, but the girls still wear them at Pyra's behest, mostly to show off to Izuku.
    • Izuku still fights Stain during the Hero Killer arc.
  • Instantly Proven Wrong: While at the WWPC's Hot Springs, the girls talk about sex and think the boys are also talking about sex. The scene immediately changes to show the boys talking about who's the most powerful.
  • Irony: When Stain tells Izuku to get to safety, the latter notes the irony of a serial killer telling someone to find a safe place.
  • Loophole Abuse: Reiko decides to stick at Izuku's house for a while because her mother stated she would be grounded as soon as she arrived home.
  • Malicious Misnaming: Curious keeps calling Izuku "Izuku Kiryu" to promote the image that Izuku is a villain. She even lets it "slip" during a press conference.
  • Massive Multiplayer Crossover: The main premise of the story is that Blades from Alrest ended up in the world of My Hero Academia, with additional major characters from Yakuza, Sk8 the Infinity, and Chained Soldier. The Haki powerset of One Piece is also incorporated and renamed Heat.
  • Mercy Kill: The Nomufied Tsubasa retains enough of himself to beg Izuku to kill him, something Izuku grants when he realizes it.
  • Morality Pet: Originally a Morality Chain until Character Development kicked in; Yoichi served as this to Second back when they were alive, as he encouraged him to talk and reconnect with his estranged loved ones instead of spiralling further into his depression-induced Face–Heel Turn.
  • My Beloved Smother: Reiko's mother loves her, no doubt about it, but she's a tad too overprotective.
  • My Significance Sense Is Tingling:
    • During the first day of internships, the girls interested in Izuku have the feeling that they have just missed something amazing. Answer Cut to Izuku wearing a tux.
    • They also feel an intense surge of jealousy the night Izuku and Pyra/Mythra have Their First Time.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • Izuku's hero costume is a mix of Addam's outfit and his canon costume.
    • At the start of the battle trials, Izuku says "Let's show them a thing or three", Rex's catchphrase whenever he engages an enemy in the game.
    • Gran Torino "greets" Izuku by faking his death and then acting senile.
    • The first event at the Sports Festival, the Scavenger Race (where competitors need to collect orbs that represent certain items amid different biomes) is an obvious one to the item collection quests of the Xenoblade games, where collectible items take the form of glowing orbs in-game.
    • When she's introduced by the eyepatch-wearing Majima in the Sports Festival finals, Nia calls him a one-eyed monster, the same thing she called Zeke in canon.
    • Majima's idea of an ambush as seen during the student vs teacher exams takes all its cues from the "Majima Everywhere" system in Yakuza Kiwami, even though Kiryu and Majima never met each other in this fic.
  • Never My Fault: Aizawa blames Izuku for his being fired from U.A. rather than his own actions.
  • No Kill like Overkill: Mythra keeps Siren ready for any situation, whether it is to shoot down the Nomu, threaten Monoma when he begins to mouth off or finish I-Island's obstacle course (by destroying it) in record time.
  • Nom de Mom: Midoriya is the surname of Izuku's mom. Endeavor takes this as yet another hint that Izuku is All Might's secret lovechild.
  • Noodle Incident: A lot of the events regarding the Yakuza underworld are relayed as such. For example, we are told that Goro Majima once took out the entire Dojima family and the Dojima Lieutenats, but we're not told why; Kuze only remarks that he's surprised Majima married the blind girl (which did not happen in canon).
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: The Second OfA user states that usually All For One tends to keep very opulent, elaborate, and overall flashy buildings and safehouses to showcase his power. So the overly plain-looking building must house something really important. He's right, as that building is the one where his little brother Yoichi is locked up.
  • Outside-Context Problem: The Blades mean well, but one of the major points of the story is how Bond Creatures that don't care about Quirks, or if their Drivers have them, upend heroic society.
  • Point of Divergence:
    • After saving Bakugo from the Sludge Villain, Izuku ran away after the pros scolded him for getting involved, wandering to Tagobah Beach, where he sees the Blade crystals falling to Earth and catches Pyra's crystal. Because of this, he doesn't get to meet All Might a second time and grew to resent the Number One Hero to an extent, even selling all of his All Might merchandise and had considered rejecting One for All.
    • Most Drivers also act differently from their canon counterparts.
      • Izuku becomes more confident, both standing up and fighting back against Bakugo.
      • Momo is more confident due to support from Brighid.
      • Denki is no longer a pervert due to having a romantic relationship with Pandoria. Also, while he's still The Ditz, he has more sparks of intelligence.
      • Reiko feels more kinship with Izuku due to being Quirkless and has developed other skills like skating.
      • Mei, while still having a one-track mindset, also constantly switches to a more "motherly" persona with anything involving Poppi.
    • All Might becomes more responsible than in canon due to not wanting to fail Izuku again.
      • He stops the Battle Trial when Bakugo is about to use his gauntlet. Additionally, starting with the Battle Trial was not his idea, and he himself had misgivings about having that as the first heroics course.
      • He doesn't use up all his time and arrives at the USJ on time.
      • He calls Gran Torino to help teach Izuku before giving Izuku One for All.
    • The events of the Sports Festival are different. Instead of an Obstacle Race and a Cavalry Battle, the first two events are a Scavenger Race and a Skate Derby. Because of the different events (along with different relationship dynamics), Neito Monoma, Itsuka Kendo, and Reiko Yanagi reach the final tournament along with Nia, displacing Aoyama, Sero, Tokoyami, and Tetsutetsu.
    • After Izuku wins first place in the sports festival and Bakugou recovers, Nezu cheerfully explains to Bakugou that he is kicked out of heroics to gen-ed and will not be coming back. Furthermore, because of Setsuna's actions, Bakugou is blacklisted from heroics altogether because he's PR suicide. As such, Bakugou runs away and is eventually taken in by the HPSC.
    • Taiga and Majima taking the teacher role ends up resulting in replacing Aizawa permanently and getting him fired as well as stopping Iida from going to Hosu, so he never faces the Hero Killer.
    • Izuku faces the Hero Killer alone (well technically with Theory) and Stain escapes.
    • Some of the finals pairings are altered and everyone passes.
    • The 1-A kids being overall better fighters at that point in time than otherwise means Wolfram's forces go down more easily and overall, it is a relatively easier battle than in canon.
    • This Izuku talks to Canon Izuku in a dream where they argue because of how different they are.
    • Camie learning Heat from Majima allows her to prevent Toga from ambushing her and taking her place in the Provisional Licence Exams.
  • Rape Is a Special Kind of Evil: Fingers is seen as the worst member of the League of Villains for raping his Blade, to the point that the other members want to kill him for the act.
  • Rage Breaking Point: While pretty angry at Bakugo for almost killing Reiko, Izuku outright snaps and delivers a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown alongside a "The Reason You Suck" Speech to Bakugo when he finds out the later spent years bullying him because Izuku tried to help Bakugo out of a small river when they were kids.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech:
    • Izuku gives one to Shinso during their battle in the Sports Festival, calling him out for his attitude and bullshit, with Pyra joining in at the end.
Izuku: You're a villain, plain and simple... no... you aren't even a villain... you're a parasite. You can't do anything on your own, so you feed off of others, you use them for your own ends, not caring for their feelings and autonomy. You take over innocent people's minds and make them dance to your sick tune like a mushroom on an ant's back.
Shinso: I'm just working with what I was given! A baseline like you would never understand! You have no idea what it's like!
Izuku: What is what like!? What it's like to be a whiny little bitch who can do nothing but cry over things that won't change!? I know what that's like! That was my whole life until a year ago! You have no idea how hard it is to be Quirkless! You called Pyra and Nana alien toys!? I'm the same! An alien! An outsider! An anomaly! An error! You don't know anything about pain! About suffering!
Shinso: Don't act like you have it so bad, Mr. Record Breaker! You think being Quirkless is so hard!? At least you have your toys to carry your baseline ass! I don't even have that! I didn't have anyone to carry me through that rigged exam!
Pyra: I didn't carry anything! Izuku passed the exam on his own merit because he worked hard! You failed because you're weak! No other reason!
    • He gives another one to Stain, calling him a thug who gets off on blood while hiding behind a "noble" goal.
  • Recursive Fanfiction: The story was inspired by another MHA/XB2 crossover with a similar premise, but it was sadly deleted.
  • Red Baron:
    • Goro Majima is known as the "Mad Dog". Just the Mad Dog, as Shimano lived and died long before him in this fic.
    • Likewise, Kazuma Kiryu was known - and is still called - the "True Dragon", as Dojima was not around in his era.
    • Ryuji Goda is called the "Dragon of Kansai", as per source material. However, he hates the title as he thinks that only one person can hold the title of dragon.
    • Dojima's three lieutenants have titles on their own: Kuze is the "King of Hell", Awano is "Momotaro" and Shibusawa is the "Dragon of Dojima". Of them, only the King of Hell is seen in the fic, and he doesn't appear to have a particularly strong opinion on his title as he didn't pick it.
    • Izuku and Phyche start calling themselves the "Honored Ones" during the Kamino raid.
  • Rousing Speech: Izuku gives one just before the Sports Festival.
  • The Runaway: Bakugou runs away from home after being kicked out of heroics, as well as refusing to be part of the 'rejects' as he calls the gen-ed students.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Stain decides to run away when he realizes that not only can Izuku defeat him, but he's also surrounded by people and heroes are coming to the place — not without a parting We Will Meet Again parting shot, though.
  • Share the Male Pain: Izuku and Kota both cringe when Nia's claws hit Muscular's groin.
  • Shout-Out:
  • Skewed Priorities: During the USJ, Aizawa runs into one of Izuku and Bakugo's old classmates (the boy with the finger-extending Quirk). When the kid reveals he's a Driver with a rare Blade that he implies he regularly rapes, Aizawa can't decide if he hates him or Izuku more.
  • Sucky School:
    • In spite of how UA presents itself, Aizawa single-handedly drags down standards, being blatantly discriminatory and biased and more interested in ruining children's lives than he is in actually teaching them, aka his damn job. His bad hygiene also got various students sick. The worst part of Midnight's frustrations is that Nedzu lets him get away with it in spite of her attempts to get her former friend fired. It was so bad that UA loses a lot of its lustre for the 1-A students. It speaks to how bad it is that an ex-villain who attacked them during the USJ Incident replacing Aizawa turns out to be a significant improvement for the school as a whole.
    • The other hero schools are far more oppressive to their students as a whole, operating more as military academies instead of schools. Shiketsu in particular has some very misogynistic undertones and expels students for dating. One student even threatens telling their teachers that another student hold romantic feelings for someone not even in their school.
  • Suspiciously Specific Denial: No, Tenya and Camie aren't dating, but everyone is invited to the wedding. Justified because Shiketsu, the school Camie is attending, forbids students from dating, and they can't risk her getting expelled.
  • Take a Third Option: When Shoto and Aoyama fight Thirteen for their exam, the teens run into the problem that pretty much anything they fire at the hero gets quickly destroyed by Thirteen's black holes, and they can't run away because the black holes also restrain them. Shoto realizes he can outrun Thirteen by freezing the ground in front of him and firing short bursts of fire to propel himself and Aoyama.
  • Take That!: A very long and scathing one during Nezu's internal monologue towards Aizawa’s teaching practices and his own neglectful management, and unknowingly his canon self's sadistic final exam.
  • A Taste of Their Own Medicine: When Izuku, who has every reason to hate him, questions the harshness of the punishment inflicted on Aizawa, Nedzu explains that some of it is actually a "rational deception" of the kind the punished party likes giving out. Nia calls Nedzu devious for it.
  • There Can Only Be One: Ryuji Goda hates being called "The Dragon of Kansai" because there can only be one dragon and he has not earned the title yet. The last person who earned the title of "True Dragon" is Kazuma Kiryu. Ryuji and Izuku's rivalry is mostly based on Izuku not wanting Ryuji to taint the title.
  • A Truce While We Gawk: During the fight between All Might and All For One, several heroes and villains just sit on the sidelines and watch them. One of them even admits that he doesn't really feel like fighting with all that's going on.
  • Tsundere: Nia. As much as she's in love with Izuku, refuses to confess to him.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: Izuku's assessment of All Might as a fighter; he doesn't have any real martial arts skills, but he is so outrageously strong that he doesn't really need them.
  • Wham Episode: Chapter 70 is one for not just this fic, but also for Heroes DxD: This is our story and He's a Hero. The Master of Masters was watching the battle between Izuku/Pneuma and Malos with Alvis, who reveals that, after Zanza's death, preserved the data for the Bionis and Mechonis in the world that would become He's a Hero, while the Master of Masters mentions that he's working with Tabane! Yep.
  • Wham Shot: Chapter 46 ends with Izuku and Mythra barging into Club Sunshine and reuniting with everyone. And with them is Jin carrying Eri.
  • World's Strongest Man: All Might is regarded as the strongest Quirk user and Goro Majima as the strongest Quirkless person. Majima in particular earned his credentials by taking out several S-Rank villains who killed Top 10 heroes before.
  • You Remind Me of X: The Second One For All user (aka Nishikiyama Akira) chose to save Yoichi's life because he reminded him of his dead sister - especially how both of them are obviously very sick and locked up somewhere they don't want to be.

    Decimo Either Way
  • Adaptational Species Change: In canon, Tsuna and Yamamoto are human, here, they're both Blade/human hybrids.
  • Adaptational Superpower Change: Tsuna has the Emperor's Heat which was not a power that was available to anyone from his original franchise in canon.
  • "Begone" Bribe: After learning MM loves money, Tsuna decides to take advantage of his wealth for once and try bribing her into going away so he can get on with saving his kidnapped loved ones. It doesn't work since it results in her becoming a Gold Digger on him and they end up having to beat her anyway.
  • Breaking the Cycle of Bad Parenting: Fubuki's solution to helping her daughters escape her abusive parenting that her own mother made her do is to let them go to their father's family, the Midoriyas.
  • Big Brother Instinct: The best way to get Tsuna to let go of his skittish nature is to threaten his siblings, as Bianchi learned when she attempted to kill Milton and Glimmer with a poisoned pizza.
  • Date Peepers: Reborn takes Konomi with him to spy on Tsuna's and Kyoko's zoo date.
  • Defeat Means Friendship: As in canon, Gokudera becomes loyal to Tsuna after the latter beat him and saved him from his own dynamite. Konomi also applies, she becomes Tsuna's subordinate after he defeats her in a sparring match.
  • Delayed Reaction: Fubuki is so despondent from all three of her daughters leaving her to be with their father, half-siblings, and adoptive siblings it takes her a moment to realize that that one of said daughters returned to pay a visit.
  • Distracted by the Sexy: An entire island of crooks managed to miss that Pro-Hero Pyra was on the island because they were too busy ogling her breasts instead of looking at her face.
  • Double Standard Rape: Female on Male: Played with. Tobera sees nothing wrong with her forcefully taking the needed genetic material from Izuku for Fubuki to give birth to her daughters bearing his DNA. People who know about it however are rightfully disgusted.
  • Fiction 500: The Midoriyas are obscenely wealthy. In addition to the wealth Momo brings in, several of the other parents have successful and highly profitable companies. There's also all the royalties that come in.
  • Harem Seeker: By proxy. Pyra is trying to build a harem for Tsuna just like she did for Izuku. Her sister-wives try to dissuade her but fail to do so.
  • Heroic Lineage: All of Izuku's kids are part of a heroic legacy, since he's the world's greatest hero, and several of their mothers are famous heroes in their own right.
  • I Want Grandkids: One of the reasons Pyra wants to build a harem for Tsuna, and what she used to get Nia on board, is the idea of getting a lot of grandkids out of him.
  • Parental Sexuality Squick: Most of the Midoriya kids are disgusted when Reiko mentions what Pyra did with her mouth for Izuku.
  • Parents as People: Fubuki genuinely loves her daughters. The issue is that her mother Tobera forced her to raise them the way she was raised. When Fubuki allows them to go to their father Izuku, they all take that chance, not wanting to be Azumas a second longer than they need to. She cries out of both regret that they all left her and out of relief that they left an abusive environment.
  • Sorry, I'm Gay: Played with. Satoru implies he is gay by mentioning his boyfriend to avoid entering a relationship with the much younger Kurokawa and get her to move on from him. Thing is, he also has three girlfriends, he just elected to not mention that.
  • Touché: When Mio asks Tsuna why he would be a mafia boss, Tsuna counters by asking why would she be a pirate. Mio can only concede the point.
