The Random Drama Series features all of Total Drama's cast, behaving according to many of their canonical tropes, as well as a number of original characters. However various divergences from canon bring the following tropes into play with the canon cast:

    open/close all folders

    Hosts

Chris McLean, the Host with the Most

Chef Hatchet, the Scary Cook

Blaineley

Placements: Ineligible to win (RDWT)

  • Kick the Dog: After getting voted off, after revealing several secrets, she tells Scarlett (who just got over her actions in Area 51) that she's Beyond Redemption and should give up on trying to redeem herself.

Don

    Island

Alejandro, the Arch Villain

Teams: Screaming Gophers, Killer Grips, Team Chris is Really, Really, Really, Really Hot, Villainous Vultures
Placements: 3rd (RDI), 6th (RDA & RDWT), 5th (RDAS)

  • Amicable Exes: He becomes this with Kitsune after their brief relationship.
  • Bald of Evil: Al got his head shaved in the penultimate challenge of Island and had to wear a camo hunting cap until his hair grew back by the Celebrity Manhunt special.
  • Evil Is Petty: He threw Noah off a cliff with a dingo as payback for his elimination in Island.
  • In-Series Nickname: Kitsune refers to him as "Ale-bald-bro" (in regards to his baldness) from "The Very Last Episode, Really!" to near the end of Action.
  • Noodle Incident: One with actual noodles occured between him and Duncan once:
Kitsune: "Duncan's sorry about the... noodle incident..."
Alejandro: (peeved) "I would hope so. It took a week to get all the pasta out of my-"
Kitsune: (cutting in) "Too much info!"
  • Official Couple: After four seasons of Will They or Won't They?, he gets together with Heather in "Suckers Punched".
  • The One Guy: To the Killer Grips and Team Amazon, both times after Victor is eliminated.
  • Spotlight-Stealing Squad: Not only does he reach the merge in all four seasons he competed in (like Duncan in canon), he made the final six at least each time.

Amy, the Mean Twin

Teams: Killer Bass, Screaming Gaffers, Llamas of Loserdom
Placements: 9th (RDI), 14th (RDA), TBA (RDR)

  • Big Bad Ensemble: She and Scott act as the main villains of Redemption, trying to sabotage other players while trying to make each other dependent on themselves.
  • I Reject Your Reality: In spite of all evidence to the contrary, Amy refuses to believe that her sister is anything other than a waste of space who ruined her first two chances at the money.
  • Never My Fault: Everything that goes wrong is never Amy's fault and normally Sammy's fault.
  • Out of Focus: Probably the least focused character of the first generation cast in general; in Island she was mostly a Satellite Character for Sammy, in Action she was only there to be an early boot, and she didn't compete in World Tour while having little to no lines in the Aftermaths, until finally getting to get another shot at the game in Redemption.
  • Satellite Character: As mentioned in Out of Focus, she was mostly used as a tool for Sammy's development in Island.

DJ, the Brickhouse with Heart

Teams: Killer Bass, Screaming Gaffers
Placements: 8th (RDI), 1st (RDA)

  • The Cameo: After World Tour, he makes one in every season except Pahkitew Island and All-Stars 2.
  • Demoted to Extra: He doesn't come back to compete after winning Action.
  • The Leader: Following Sky's elimination in Action, DJ took charge of the Screaming Gaffers.
  • Official Couple: With Sammy starting from "Riot On Set".

Duncan, the Delinquent

Teams: Killer Bass, Screaming Gaffers, Team Omega
Placements: 14th (RDI), 7th (RDA), 12th (RDWT)

  • Ain't Too Proud to Beg: When Mal has him at his mercy, Duncan wastes no time pleading for Mal not to hurt him.
  • Cannot Spit It Out: Part of the reason Duncan ends up on the rocks with Kitsune in Season 2 is because he can't tell her he loves her. He only manages to say it in the exclusive clip following his elimination in "The Princess Pride" before actually doing it in the finale after DJ won and he apologizes to her.
  • Demoted to Extra: Downplayed example: although still a relevant character, Duncan isn't as focused on as he was in canon, getting eliminated earlier in each season he was in and not even returning for All-Stars, becoming The Ghost mentioned by Kitsune, and only appearing in her bonus video.
  • Has a Type: He fell for the red-headed Kitsune. He's also flirted with the aptly-named Scarlett at various points.
  • Noodle Incident: He pulled a prank on Alejandro using actual noodles.
  • Official Couple: With Kitsune.

Gwen, the Loner

Teams: Screaming Gophers, Ferrets of Failure
Placements: 10th (RDI), TBA (RDR)

Harold, the Dweeb

Teams: Killer Bass, Screaming Gaffers, Team Chris is Really, Really, Really, Really Hot, Team Omega, Ferrets of Failure
Placements: 13th (RDI), 11th (RDA), 10th (RDWT), TBA (RDR)

  • Disappeared Dad: His father passed away prior to season 1.
  • Honor Before Reason: He voted off Malcolm, his friend and bandmate, over Alejandro to pay him back the favor he owed him. Even Malcolm knew he would've gone through with it.
  • Official Couple: Unlike the parent work, he hooks up with Leshawna and despite the bumps, they remain together.
  • Related in the Adaptation: He and Scarlett are twins in this universe.
  • The Sixth Ranger: He was literally the sixth person to join Team Omega.

Heather, the Queen Bee

Teams: Screaming Gophers, Killer Grips, Team Amazon, Villainous Vultures
Placements: 19th (RDI), 4th (RDA), 15th (RDWT), 2nd (RDAS)

  • The Bad Guy Wins: Her ending in "The Final Wreck-ening".
  • Big Bad: Of Action.
  • Catchphrase: "It's not personal. It's just strategy."
  • Demoted to Extra: In both Island and World Tour, Heather isn't the heavy hitter she was in the parent work, not lasting past the fourth elimination ceremony both times.
  • Dramatic Irony: In "Top Dog", Heather complains about how frustrating it is to work with someone who refuses to help, a trait she displays often.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: She's enraged at Amy for trying to run over her twin sister out of pettiness.
  • Evil Is Petty: She volunteered to help Mal in the season three finale because she planned to use Scarlett as a disposable ally only for the opposite to occur.
  • Odd Friendship: With Shawn.
  • Official Couple: It takes four seasons, but she enters a relationship with Alejandro by the halfway point of All-Stars.

Kitsune, the Goofball

Teams: Screaming Gophers, Killer Grips, Team Omega, Heroic Hamsters, Villainous Vultures
Placements: 5th (RDI), 2nd (RDA), 11th (RDWT), 10th (RDAS)

  • Amicable Exes: Her friendship with Alejandro falls into this after their brief hookup.
  • Animal-Eared Headband: Sports one with fox ears, which matches the tail attached to her belt to emphasize her love of foxes.
  • Animal Motifs: As mentioned above, foxes. In addition to her accessories, her nickname is Japanese for "fox" and her superhero alter-ego is known as the "Fantastic Fox".
  • Ascended Extra: In the original Danger Island, she was a pretty early boot. Here, with the exception of World Tour, she was a major character in every season she competed in.
  • Big Eater: She admits in "Brunch of Disgustingness" that she can eat anything due to her stemother being a terrible cook.
  • The Cameo:
    • She replaces Izzy as the giant spider in this universe's version of "Finders Creepers".
    • She appears in "A Bunch of Lunatics" to welcome Trent to Season 9's Playa.
  • Character Focus: She received quite a lot of focus in contrast to the other two OCs. While both Victor and Malcolm received their fair-share of screen time, they weren't as prominent as Kitsune who reached the final 5 in Island and was the runner-up in Action.
  • Cunning Like a Fox: Despite her pranking nature, she possesses an impressive strategic intellect but only uses it to keep herself safe or cripple a contestant she can't stand (Alejandro, Heather and Matthew.)
  • Dark Secret: Her mother is Lola Gamble, the infamous "Boyfriend Strangler" and one of Canada's most infamous serial killers. During her youth, most people who learned this would distance themselves from her.
  • Deadpan Snarker: She has a lot of these moments starting from Action, pretty much replacing Noah after he gets eliminated. It continues into World Tour and she splits the role with Lily in All-Stars.
  • Everyone Knew Already: She admits in "Top Dog" that she knew Sugar was telling the truth about Victor being a mole since he's a terrible liar.
  • Fiery Redhead: Make her mad enough, and she'll make you regret pissing her off.
  • Hidden Depths: "One Million Bucks B.C." reveals her real name, her Dark Secret mentioned above, and that she was a girl scout.
  • Modesty Towel: She dons an orange one in both "Hook, Line and Screamer" and "Rock n' Rule".
  • Number Two: Victor chose her for the Killer Grips to serve as this (mostly because he couldn't pick Sky, who was captain of the opposing team.)
  • Official Couple: With Duncan. Briefly dated Alejandro while on a break from the former.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: Everyone calls her by her nickname except Heather, with Alejandro alternating after they become friends.
  • The Prankster
  • Pungeon Master: Most of Kitsune's jokes are based solely on puns.
  • Scout-Out: For a brief part of her youth, she was a Junior Lady Ranger and became skilled in fire lighting, knot-tying and weaving.
  • The Smurfette Principle: She was the only female member of Team Omega, which became an all-male team after her elimination.
    • It also applies in a meta sense, in which Kitsune is the sole female OC to debut in the first generation cast.
  • Statuesque Stunner: Said to be taller than even Noah.
  • Vibrant Orange: She always wears orange and has a very excitable and spontaneous personality.

Leshawna, the Sista With a 'Tude

Teams: Screaming Gophers, Screaming Gaffers, Team Chris is Really, Really, Really, Really Hot
Placements: 12th (RDI), 9th (RDA), 14th (RDWT)

  • Official Couple: Unlike the parent work, she has a mutual attraction towards Harold and in spite of some bumps in the road, they stay together.

Malcolm, the Pain Magnet

Teams: Screaming Gophers, Team Chris is Really, Really, Really, Really Hot
Placements: 7th (RDI), 16th (RDWT)

  • Ascended Extra: In the original "Dramaverse", he was disqualified in the third episode of his debut season, while here he had his own storyline in Island, had a pretty relevant role in the Aftermaths of World Tour, and was even chosen to return for the Ridonculous Race alongside Noah.
  • Catchphrase: Every time he's hurt, he brushes it off by saying "It's okay. Happens all the time."
  • The Chew Toy: He gets injured six ways to Sunday on a regular basis and quickly recovers from it. According to Trent, 40% of the Drama Brothers' earnings go to their insurance for Malcolm and Chris admits in "Slap Slap Revolution" that Malcolm's his favorite contestant because of his bad luck.
  • Iron Butt Monkey: Literally labeled as "the Pain Magnet".l, he always gets hurt or is already in a cast from unknown injuries in each of his appearances.
  • Noodle Incident: He broke Trent's guitar in an unknown but highly impossible fashion.
  • Odd Friendship: With both Noah and Victor, and to a lesser extent Kitsune.
  • Official Couple: He gets together with Sierra.
  • Otaku: Like Harold and Tyler, Malcolm is a Japanophile given his love of game shows.

Mike, the Comedian

Teams: Killer Bass, Team Omega, Villainous Vultures
Placements: 11th (RDI), 15th/16th (RDA), 2nd (RDWT), 11th (RDAS)

Tropes referring to Mike:Tropes referring to his personalities:
  • Big Bad: The second he comes out, Mal becomes the main villain of World Tour.
  • The Dreaded: Mal slowly becomes this upon surfacing, first by Duncan, then by Kitsune (right after she's eliminated), the Peanut Gallery, and the rest of the cast once Blaineley rats him out.
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: Mal thinks that Scarlett is an idiot for not simply embracing her monstrous side and joining him and is convinced that he's caused Mike to give up by making him think Zoey now hates him. The idea that both still want to protect those they care about and that Zoey wouldn't just give up on Mike catches him completely off guard and leads to his defeat during World Tour
  • Out of Focus: Mike's personalities suffer from this depending on the season: Svetlana was the only personality to appear in Action (although Chester at least has two cameos in the Celebrity Manhunt special) and once Mal resurfaces in World Tour, none of them appear outside of Mike's mind unless Mal uses their abilities. Vito gets the worst of it; along with the aforementioned examples, he is the only personality who didn't appear in All-Stars (excluding the season's theme song.)
  • Spared by the Adaptation: None of them are killed off as there is no reset button in this story.

Noah, the Bookworm

Teams: Screaming Gophers, Killer Grips, Team Omega
Placements: 1st (RDI), 13th (RDA), 8th (RDWT)

Sammy, the Nice Twin

Teams: Killer Bass, Screaming Gaffers
Placements: 2nd (RDI), 8th (RDA)

  • Adaptation Dye-Job: She starts off blond just like in canon, but during the penultimate challenge of Island, a dare she takes from Gwen has her dress as a goth for the rest of the challenge, including dying her hair black with a red streak. After the challenge the dye doesn't washout, with it staying that way. But she doesn't mind, saying she likes it.
  • Demoted to Extra: After Action, she doesn't return to compete in World Tour or All-Stars.
  • Fire-Forged Friends: With Mike, who was the first person to treat her with respect.
  • Official Couple: She has a thing for DJ, but they didn't get together until early season two.

Scarlett, the Quiet Brainiac

Teams: Killer Bass, Team Amazon, Heroic Hamsters
Placements: 15th (RDI), 1st (RDWT), 7th (RDAS)

  • Actually Pretty Funny:
    • She normally hates it when Duncan bullies her brother, but even she was laughing when Duncan, Mike and DJ leave him outside naked.
    • She falls over from laughing so hard after learning Chris was in Fametown.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: In the original Pahkitew Island her nice and calm personality was just a facade, while here it's actually genuine and part of her Adaptational Heroism.
  • Anti-Hero: She was a Type II in World Tour and the majority of All-Stars.
  • Badass Bookworm: Comes off as this by a lot more heroic than her original counterpart and serving as The Smart Girl to every team she's part.
  • Beyond Redemption: After her actions in "Scarlett Fever", she's convinced that she deserves to get voted out for it and that she's well past any chance of redeeming herself. In All Stars, she's baffled when she's placed on the Heroic Hamsters.
  • Character Focus: Received a lot of focus during World Tour after being slightly Out of Focus in Island.
  • Daddy's Girl: She was very close to her father...
  • Despair Event Horizon: After realizing what she did in Area 51, she shuts down and basically gives up on the game for several episodes. After Blaineley tells her she's Beyond Redemption, she goes through another, shorter one.
  • Disappeared Dad: ...who died prior to her and Harold joining the show.
  • "No. Just… No" Reaction: Her basic reaction when she realizes Mal is flirting with her.
  • Official Couple: With Cody as of "You Regatta Be Kidding Me".
  • Related in the Adaptation: She and Harold are twins in this continuity.
  • The Smart Girl: Was this for the Killer Bass and for Team Amazon while sharing this role with Cody on the Heroic Hamsters.
  • Odd Friendship: With both Sierra and Victor during World Tour. She ended up becoming quite close with both of them, especially the former who played a big part into keeping her head on the game.

Shawn, the Zombie Conspiracy Nut

Teams: Killer Bass, Killer Grips, Llamas of Loserdom
Placements: 18th (RDI), 10th (RDA), TBA (RDR)

  • Demoted to Extra: In canon, he's a finalist and is the focus of a romantic plot. Here, he loses before the halfway point in both seasons he's currently competed in.
  • The Dragon: He teams up with Heather in Action, acting as her Number Two in their alliance.
  • Odd Friendship: With Heather.
  • Out of Focus: Probably the second least focused character from the first cast in general; in Island his only memorable moment was winning the Awake-a-thon, while in Action he got a little bit more focus and his own arc in the form of his alliance with Heather: despite this, he's still eliminated in the first half of the season. Word of God acknowledges this, hence why Shawn returned to compete in Redemption.

Sky, the Athlete

Teams: Screaming Gophers, Screaming Gaffers, Team Amazon, Ferrets of Failure
Placements: 16th (RDI), 12th (RDA), 13th (RDWT), TBA (RDR)

Staci, the Compulsive Liar

Teams: Screaming Gophers, Team Chris is Really, Really, Really, Really Hot
Placements: 21st (RDI), 17th (RDWT)

Sugar, the Pageant Queen

Teams: Killer Bass, Killer Grips
Placements: 22nd (RDI), 5th (RDA)

  • Big Bad Wannabe: Although Sugar caused some eliminations in Action, she's nowhere near Heather's level of strategic manipulation.
  • Demoted to Extra: Once she was eliminated in Action, Sugar was put on the sidelines.
  • Dumbass Has a Point: She of all people points out that competing against Heather in boxing to see who the better villain is wouldn't really prove anything since their skills as villains are in manipulation, not physical strength.

Trent, the Cool Guy

Teams: Screaming Gophers, Ferrets of Failure
Placements: 6th (RDI), 21st (RDR)

  • Becoming the Mask: Like Geoff in canon, Trent is ordered by the producers to be more amoral while hosting the Aftermaths. Gwen gets him to stop by the end of the third one.
  • Noodle Incident: Malcolm broke his guitar in a way that made him refuse to let him near it again.
  • Official Couple: With Gwen.

Tyler, the Jock

Teams: Killer Bass, Team Omega
Placements: 20th (RDI), 5th (RDWT)

  • Arch-Enemy: Develops a rivalry with Matthew, who considers him useless.
  • Ascended Extra: He's much more prominent in this universe's version of season 3, lasting all the way to 5th place. He even competes in Ridonculous Race with his own partner.
  • Embarrassing Nickname: Matthew calls him "Tracksuit" throughout World Tour.

Victor, the Gentleman

Teams: Screaming Gophers, Killer Grips, Team Amazon, Heroic Hamsters
Placements: 17th (RDI), 3rd (RDA), 9th (RDWT), 14th (RDAS)

  • Ascended Extra: In the original Danger Island he was eliminated in the second episode, while here he had his own storylines such as his relationship with Sky, his friendship with Scarlett and taking both Trent and Owen's roles in Action.
  • Demoted to Extra: After playing major roles in the first three seasons, Victor was the first contestant eliminated in All-Stars.
  • The Leader: Was this for the Killer Grips for the majority of Action and the members of Team Amazon also voted for him to take up the position.
  • Odd Friendship: With Noah and Malcolm, they formed an alliance in Island and ended up becoming pretty good friends. In fact when Noah and Malcolm compete on the Ridonculous Race both actually wished that Victor could be there with them.
    • The next season has him form one with Kitsune, with both of them becoming the leaders of the Killer Grips and forming a close bond to the point that they share a hug when Victor returns to the competition and Kitsune admits he's her favorite cast member and people like him are needed in the world.
    • Also with Scarlett of all people, both end up developing a friendship to the point that he actually refused to vote for her and voted for Zoey instead when Team Amazon lost in "Can't Help Falling in Lovre".
  • Official Couple: With Sky.
  • The One Guy: Was this for the Killer Grips following Shawn's elimination in Action as well as Team Amazon for the first half of World Tour. In both instances, Alejandro succeeds him after he's eliminated.
  • Rich Kid Turned Social Activist
  • Wealthy Philanthropist: He's already a millionaire and was planning to donate the prize money to charity if he managed to win as he's initially too young to have access to his family's wealth.

Zoey, the Indie Chick

Teams: Killer Bass, Team Amazon
Placements: 4th (RDI), 15th/16th (RDA), 7th (RDWT)

    World Tour Newcomers

Matthew, the Hipster

Teams: Team Omega, Villainous Vultures
Placements: 3rd (RDWT), 4th (RDAS)

  • Arch-Enemy: Tyler's in World Tour for considering him useless, and Cody's in All-Stars for messing with Scarlett.
  • Chronic Backstabbing Disorder: A core aspect of Matthew's personality is his fluid loyalties, as he'll have no problem betraying anyone he allies with as long as it benefits him.
  • Eyepatch of Power: After losing sight in his right eye, he sports an eyepatch from "Evil Dread" onwards.
  • Hated by All: By the end of his run time, not even Chris likes him.
  • Improperly Paranoid: He spends the first few episodes of All-Stars believing Mal's still in control of Mike's body and is actively plotting against him. So when Mal does take control in "Moon Madness", Matthew immediately says he called it when in reality, he wasn't even close.
  • Insufferable Genius: Played with. Matthew is a straight A student and has knowledge on world culture. However, he never applies it to anything other than sabotage and his boasting causes everyone to see him as just insufferable.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Constantly suffers from this, such is his fates in every season he's an antagonist.
  • Never My Fault: Refuses to admit when he makes a mistake. He even sacrificed his lead in the regatta to try and kill Cody and still had the nerve to blame him.
  • Sanity Slippage: In his first season, Matthew starts out as just a Jerkass. After losing out on the million in World Tour and being sealed in the robot, Matthew slowly begins to become more and more unhinged, effectively becoming this universe's version of canon Ezekiel.
  • Sore Loser: Matthew can't stand it when he loses, to the point where he holds the Pahkitew Island cast hostage for not only the money, but for Chris to admit that he is the true winner of both World Tour and All Stars even though he lost both completely fairly.
  • Straight Gay: He is confirmed to be gay, and doesn't show any stereotypical traits.

Sierra, the Obsessive Uber-Fan

Teams: Team Chris is Really, Really, Really, Really Hot, Team Amazon, Llamas of Loserdom
Placements: 4th (RDWT), 17th (RDR)

  • Official Couple: Hooks up with Malcolm offscreen.
  • The Sixth Ranger: Like Harold with Team Omega, Sierra became the sixth member to join Team Amazon after Team Chris is dissolved.

    Revenge of the Island

Angel, the Innocent Idealist

Teams: Mutant Maggots, Heroic Hamsters, Villainous Vultures
Placements: 7th (RDROTI), 8th (RDAS)

  • Cynic–Idealist Duo: Essentially her dynamic with her sister Lily in which she's the idealist to Lilly's cynic.
  • Demoted to Extra: A more downplayed example. While she's still a relevant character here, she's a lot less prominent in contrast to the original Danger Island which she won.
  • Expy: Confirmed by Word of God to being one to Starfire.
  • Good Wears White: She always wears a white sundress. Her bikini and nightgown are also white.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Angel has platinum blonde hair and is one of the nicest contestants, plus she was a Hero in All-Stars.
  • Harmless Villain: After being swapped to the Villains in All-Stars, Angel attempts to become a villain. As you can expect, almost no one actually sees her as one other than Matthew, who is in the middle of some serious Sanity Slippage.
  • Innocent Blue Eyes: The original Danger Island mentions she has these.
  • Official Couple: Enters a relationship with Bridgette.
  • Polar Opposite Twins: As mentioned in Cynic–Idealist Duo, she is pretty idealistic and positive in contrast to her twin sister Lily's negative and cynical attitude.

Beardo, the Human Soundboard

Teams: Mutant Maggots
Placements: 9th (RDROTI)

Bridgette, the Surfer Girl

Teams: Mutant Maggots, Heroic Hamsters
Placements: 3rd (RDROTI), 6th (RDAS)

  • Adaptational Sexuality: She's a lesbian here, contrasting her heterosexual nature in the parent work.
  • Lipstick Lesbian: As mentioned in Adaptational Sexuality she's lesbian in this adaptation and despite having some tomboyish traits such as not really caring about her appearance, she has a mostly feminine personality.
  • Official Couple: With Angel.
  • Twice Shy: She and Angel were clearly into each other, often blushing and complimenting one another. By the time they hooked up, Angel had already been eliminated, leaving Bridgette to chew herself out for not saying anything sooner.

Cody, the Geek

Teams: Mutant Maggots, Heroic Hamsters
Placements: 8th (RDROTI), 3rd (RDAS)

  • The Cameo: He welcomes Leonard to the new Playa de Losers in "World War Dumb".
  • The Lancer: Was this to Jo in the Mutant Maggots being the most vocal against her leadership and often clashing with her. This got dropped once she swapped to the Toxic Rats.
  • The Leader: Was this for the Mutant Maggots in "Ice, Ice, Baby" once they decided to make him team captain for the challenge.
  • Odd Friendship: He forms one with Beardo and Ezekiel, attempting to help them with their problems and be more social. He even chooses to compete with Beardo in Ridonculous Race.
  • Official Couple: It takes a lot of persistence, but he hooks up with Scarlett.
  • The Smart Guy: Was also this for the Mutant Maggots and shared this role with Scarlett for the Heroic Hamsters in All-Stars.

Ella, the Fairytale Princess

Teams: Toxic Rats, Ferrets of Failure
Placements: 10th (RDROTI), TBA (RDR)

Eva, the Hothead

Teams: Toxic Rats, Llamas of Loserdom
Placements: 11th (RDROTI), TBA (RDR)

  • Kick The Son Of A Bitch: Depending on the ending, she punches Natasha off the boat or his money off the boat for Fang to appear.
  • Rage Breaking Point: Her belief that Lily stole her mp3 player makes her lose it and try to beat her up.

Ezekiel, the Homeschooled Guy

Teams: Mutant Maggots, Toxic Rats, Ferrets of Failure
Placements: 6th (RDROTI), TBA (RDR)

  • Adaptational Comic Relief: Zeke's most defining traits such as his awkwardness, lack of social skills and lack of knowledge of the real world are Played for Laughs here. He is also a frequent victim of Amusing Injuries.
  • Animal Nemesis: Inverted. He takes Scott's role as Fang's Arch-Enemy after accidentally taking one of his teeth in "Truth or Mutant Shark" which causes him to be hunted by the Super-Persistent Predator for the majority of ROTI.
  • Ascended Extra: Going from the first boot in his canon seasons to the merge boot when he debuts here is a big improvement.
  • Ditzy Genius: Not to the same extent as in Fangren's Shuffledverse, but he also displayed some surprising inteligence here such as tricking Fang into falling into his own trap in "Runaway Model" (while also suggesting what his team should use as a model), or not believing in Jo's rethoric in "Grand Chef Auto".
  • Iconic Item: The mutant shark tooth he accidentally steals from Fang.
  • Iron Butt Monkey: Poor guy; even though he receives better treatment than in canon, he still can't escape misfortune. So far he got crushed by a totem pole, got repeatedly hit by butt-shaped apparatus, crashed to a mountain and not to mention being hunted down by a mutant shark.
  • Master Archer: As seen in "Total Drama's Got Talent", he's able to hit his mark every time, a contrast to his audition tape.
  • Oblivious to Love: Word of God states him to be this and that it'll be why he won't initially notice Eva's feelings.
  • Odd Friendship: He forms one with Beardo and Cody.
  • Stronger Than You Look: He's also shown some surprising strength in ROTI, such as being able to climb Mount Looming Tragedy in "Ice, Ice Baby" with his bare hands when most of his team besides Jo struggled to and was able to paddle alone for his team in "The Treasure Island of Dr. Mclean". He even knocked out Fang with one punch in "Brains vs. Brawn: The Ultimate Showdown".

Gary, the Rap Star Wannabe

Teams: Toxic Rats, Llamas of Loserdom
Placements: 12th (RDROTI), 24th (RDR)

  • Adaptational Jerkass: He gets eliminated early both times in this universe, and doesn't get to lose his negative traits. By "Redemption," this puts him at odds with his team as his ego and pride gets worse.
  • Demoted to Extra: Gary was a prominent character in the "Extended Dramaverse"; here, not so much. The original work had him last up to the final five in Danger Island and named a returning hero in All-Stars 2, but here he was the second boot of his debut season and the first boot in his second.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: He ticked off all of the Llamas enough to vote him off.
  • Never My Fault: Blames Chris for putting him on a so called losing team and the Llamas for making him lose the first challenge. Never mind the fact that he bragged about being the best player and blew the challenge himself.
  • Only Friend: To Natasha, along with Sam.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: Acts like a Sore Loser upon his second elimination in Redemption, despite costing his team the challenge.

Jo, the Take No Prisoners Jock-ette

Teams: Mutant Maggots, Toxic Rats, Villainous Vultures
Placements: 4th (RDROTI), 13th (RDAS)

  • Flat Character: Jo doesn't really change at all, remaining the same as she was in canon.
  • In Spite of a Nail: All in all, Jo debuts, returns and competes in the same two seasons, ends up on all the same teams, and competes for 13 episodes total. The only small change is that she doesn't get flown to the sky in the All-Stars finale.

Lightning, the Athletic Overachiever

Teams: Toxic Rats, Mutant Maggots, Heroic Hamsters
Placements: 1st (RDROTI), 9th (RDAS)

  • Adaptational Heroism: In the original show, Lightning is a Jerk Jock who plays the villain in the finale of Revenge of the Island. Here, while he still has a bit of an ego problem, he's instead a Lovable Jock whose the hero of the finale. He even ends up on the Heroic Hamsters in All-Stars.
  • Ascended Extra: A very downplayed example. In canon Revenge Of The Island Lightning also reached the final 2 but he never really had any big story-line and was mostly just a Plucky Comic Relief character; here, Lightning plays a way bigger role in the season. There's also the fact that he lasted 7 episodes in the Randomverse version of All-Stars while in the original one, he was the second camper eliminated thus only lasting 2 episodes.
  • The Cameo: He makes his return in "Dodgebrawl 2: Electric Boogaloo", where he was supposed to interview Gary after his elimination but ran off to avoid hearing the rapper's self-promotion.
  • Official Couple: With Lily.

Lily, the Cynic

Teams: Toxic Rats, Villainous Vultures, Heroic Hamsters
Placements: 5th (RDROTI), 1st (RDAS)

  • Ascended Extra: Just like Kitsune, she was an early boot in the original Danger Island, while here she is easily one of the most prominent characters of the ROTI cast reaching the final 5 in ROTI and being the official winner of All-Stars.
  • Anti-Villain: A mix between Type I and Type IV in which she is only a villain because she wants to win the game and not because she wants to be one. She's actually pretty nice to people she cares about and will go above and beyond for Angel.
  • Butt-Monkey: Not to the same extent as Malcolm or even Zeke to some extent, but she was victim of some serious misfortune such as being beaten down by a mutant beatle, attacked by an octopus-tree or falling for every single landmine in a field full of them.
  • The Cynic: Exactly What It Says on the Tin.
  • Cynic–Idealist Duo: Essentially her dynamic with her sister Angel and with Ella during ROTI in which she's obviously the cynic to Ella and Angel's idealist.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: She'll accept her villain label, but she doesn't enjoy the fact that Alejandro praises her actions.
  • Evil Redhead: Invokes this, despite the fact that it's been stated that her hair is "obviously dyed".
  • Evil Wears Black: Her normal outfit utilizes a button up vest and matching jeans, her swimwear is a bikini and her nightwear is a long shirt all colored black.
  • Expy: Confirmed by Word of God to being one to Raven.
  • The Leader: Was this for the Toxic Rats being by far the most vocal member until Jo switched to the team which caused her to become The Lancer.
  • Manipulative Bitch
  • Official Couple: She becomes Lightning's girlfriend in "Suckers Punched".
  • Polar Opposite Twins: As mentioned in Cynic–Idealist Duo she is pretty cynical and negative in contrast to her twin sister Angel's positive and idealist attitude.
  • Punny Name: The original work confirms her's and Angel's last name to be "Meadows" and "lily" is a type of flower.
  • Wolf in Sheep's Clothing

Natasha, the Mastermind

Teams: Toxic Rats, Villainous Vultures
Placements: 2nd (RDROTI), 12th (RDAS)

  • Adaptational Villainy: The original "Dramaverse" seasons had him play the secondary antagonist to Matthew and Rebecca. Here, he's the Big Bad of season four.
  • The Bad Guy Wins: His ending in "Brains vs. Brawn: The Ultimate Showdown" serves as this.
  • Beneath the Mask
  • Brainy Brunette: He has black hair, and he's the most intelligent competitor of the second generation cast.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: He admits Chris making Mike a villain simply because of his disorder is low.
  • The Lancer: Was both a supportive lancer and an antagonistic one to Lily. Most of the time, he quietly obeys her commands while also secretly planning to eliminate her. He lost this role once Lily herself got demoted to Jo's lancer.
  • The Silent Bob: Invoked by him as part of his strategy of staying silent and observing the other's moves while only talking in the confessionals.
  • Silent Snarker: While he isn't talking, he makes a lot of expressions that tell the audience what he's thinking.
  • The Smart Guy: Was also this for the Toxic Rats. He'd most likely use his inteligence come up with something to help the team win, including building a rocket twice on different occasions.
  • Tomboyish Ponytail: His hair's long enough to be kept in a ponytail.

  • The Ghost: After she was eliminated in "Maya Way or the Highway", she's mentioned at least once over the following 3 episodes.
  • Mistaken for Gay: During the PI finale, Justin assumes Dawn's a lesbian since she doesn't find him attractive. She immediately says that's not the case which sets him off.
  • Shipper on Deck: She supports Britney and Dave, seeing their auras as a "two-piece puzzle" and later Contessa and Olivia believing the latter would restore the former's faith in love.
  • Tragic Keepsake: She wears B's baseball cap during the final three episodes of season six as a memento following his elimination.

Geoff, the Party Dude

Teams: Waneyihtam Maskwak (Confused Bears), Villainous Vipers
Placements: 6th (RDPI), 2nd (RDAS-2)

  • Jerkass Ball: Geoff becomes obnoxious and toxic in the first few episodes of RDAS-2 because of Chris putting him on the villains team as vengeance for crashing the circuits in Pahkitew. Courtney snaps him out of it eventually.
  • Official Couple: With Katie after apologizing in "Welcome to Wreck-javik".

  • The Cameo: He appears in the bonus clip of "Total Drama's Got Talent" to welcome Anne Maria to the new Playa.
  • Disc-One Final Boss: For the first quarter of season six, Justin was the only villain; however, he didn't have any plan besides using his looks to sway the votes. As such, he was swapped for Courtney after the fifth episode and ended up being the last pre-merge boot.
  • Politically Correct Villain: Justin has no problems if a girl isn't attracted to him should they happen to be gay.
  • Somebody Doesn't Love Raymond: He treat Dawn not being attracted to him (and not being gay) as a personal offense.
  • The One Guy: Became Team Kinosewak's only male member after Brick switches teams with Dawn.

Katie, the Hot-Blooded

Teams: Pimâpotew Kinosewak (Floating Salmon), Villainous Vipers
Placements: 3rd (RDPI), 10th (RDAS-2)

  • Ascended Extra: She only competed in six episodes in canon before being sidelined for the rest of the series, but here she last to the final three when she debuts and returns for an All-Star season.
  • Big Bad: She ends up being the third and final villain of PI after Courtney's eliminated.

  • Best Friend: To Beth in Season 7.
  • Crush Blush: As she starts to develop a crush on Shawn, her entire face heats up.
  • Hidden Depths: Her mom's a doctor, her dad's a safety inspector and her older brother's an adrenaline junkie; as a result, she grew up seeing every horrible way things could go wrong which is why she's so scared of everything. She joined Total Drama as immersion therapy.
  • Shrinking Violet: Because of her pantaphobia, it's literally her label.
  • True Blue Femininity: Carly sports a light blue T-shirt.

Contessa, the Hopeless Romantic

Teams: Jade Dragons, Heroic Horses
Placements: 6th (RDDI), 1st (RDAS-2)

  • Adaptational Modesty: Total Drama High School (the predecessor to the original Dramaverse seasons) had her wear a corset to highlight her attractiveness and the original Danger Island had her wear a skirt. Here, she wears an all-black outfit that doesn't show any skin.
  • Affectionate Nickname: She only lets her father and Olivia call her "Tessa".
  • Amicable Exes: Averted. She was attracted to Rebecca in season seven and hooked up with her early on. However, it turns out that Rebecca was just stringing her along and intended to bring her to the finale to break her spirit and guarantee an easy win. Afterwards, Contessa's harbored an intense hatred for her.
  • Bespectacled Cutie: She's stated to wear circular glasses, and she's quite attractive.
  • Childhood Friend Romance: Contessa met Olivia as kids when her father co-starred in a movie with the latter. After they recognize each other and Olivia kisses her, Contessa begins to develop feelings for her as well.
  • Cute Bookworm
  • Daddy's Girl: Her father is very protective and doting on her.
  • Foil: To Scarlett. Both are bespectacled, intelligent and socially awkward girls who suffered from bullying during their early teen years, went through a Break the Cutie period at one point during their time on the show that damaged their self esteem but eventually recovered from it, and even managed to reach the finale and win in their second seasons. However while Scarlett kept her distance before driving everyone away as a result of going berserk and only had one person supporting her, Contessa wanted to make friends who would accept her for who she is and only had one person support her with everyone else believing she let what happen in season seven affect her and not do anything to help.
  • Gratuitous French: Having grown up in Montreal, she knows French thus often speaking the language.

Jasmine, the Australian Outback Girl

Teams: Ruby Warriors, Heroic Horses
Placements: 8th (RDDI), 11th (RDAS-2)

  • All Amazons Want Hercules: Similar to her portrayal in canon, she ends up falling for Mitch in part due to how he is not only taller than her but can also go toe to toe with her in challenges.
  • Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: Part of the reason she became attracted to Mitch is because he's actually taller than her.
  • Official Couple: With Mitch.
  • Unwitting Pawn: She ends up being one for Topher in All-Stars 2, when she completely falls for his trick that Contessa is sabotaging their team. She only realizes she has been tricked after she has already been eliminated due to her toxic attitude bringing down team moral.

Mitch, the Cowboy

Teams: Jade Dragons, Heroic Horses
Placements: 4th (RDDI), 12th (RDAS-2)

Olivia, the Ex-Child Star

Teams: Ruby Warriors, Villainous Vipers
Placements: 3rd (RDDI), 4th (RDAS-2)

  • Alpha Bitch
  • Ascended Extra: In the original "Dramaverse", she was the first eliminated contestant in Danger Island and Word of God intended for her to be the main villain in Redemption, which never came to fruition. Here, Olivia becomes the main threat in season seven, orchestrating half the eliminations and returning for All-Stars 2 where she has the main romantic plot of the season.
  • Affectionate Nickname: She allows Contessa to call her "Liv".
  • Big Bad: Of Danger Island.
  • Character Catchphrase: Tends to be "This is ridiculous! Utterly ridiculous!"
  • Childhood Friend Romance: She met Contessa while co-starring with her father in a movie as kids. She didn't even recognize her until the eighth season started but had started crushing on her before then.
  • Crush Blush: After falling for Contessa, Olivia can't help turning bright red whenever the Hopeless Romantic is affectionate with her.
  • Don't You Dare Pity Me!: She doesn't like to reveal her parents abuse to others because she hates being "pitied" by everyone else for it.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: After her elimination in "The Lost Island of Wawanakwa" in All-Stars II, she reveals to Courtney that she just turned 18, which means all the money she made acting is in her name now, and she's finally free from her Abusive Parents which allows her to be happy with Contessa.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: She doesn't approve of Rebecca ripping out Contessa's heart.
  • Ex-Big Bad: Originally the Big Bad of Danger Island, in All-Stars 2 she ends up being much more sympathetic and becomes a bit kinder due to realizing Contessa is her old childhood friend and the two eventually starts a relationship with her. This leaves Topher to play the Big Bad of the season.
  • Former Child Star: She grew up abused by her parents who forced her to be a child star to make them money, even locking her in her room for 3 days so she'd retract her coming out when she was 13: what caused that incident was when her co-star on a movie got her black-balled in Hollywood by showing the homophobic director doctored video footage of Olivia kissing her to steal her part after pretending to like her back.
  • Manipulative Bitch: Aside from standard manipulation, she double-crosses every ally she has to progress further into the competition and guilt-trips Owen into quitting after duping him into telling her Contessa's orientation. She ended up eliminating half the cast by the time she lost.
  • Official Couple: With Contessa as of "I Survived a Japanese Challenge".
  • Significant Wardrobe Shift: Initially wore a white crop top, blue skinny jeans and red high heels representing her haughty attitude. The eighth season had her switch to a sweater, slightly roomier jeans and flats (the color scheme stays the same) to show her current situation back home and to hide the bruises from her parents' abuse.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: Downplayed. She acts the same way she always does in All-Stars 2 around the other contestants, but acts much nicer when alone with Contessa, who she started crushing on.

Owen, the Optimist

Teams: Jade Dragons, Heroic Horses
Placements: 7th (RDDI and RDAS-2)

  • Death Glare: He fires one at the Danger Island final 3 that actually takes them by surprise.
  • Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: Serves as the Huge Guy to Contessa's Tiny Girl.
  • Official Couple: With Izzy, as per canon.
  • Shipper on Deck: As Contessa's closest friend, he supports her when she shows interest in Rebecca, and later Olivia (albeit begrudgingly).

Rebecca, the Rebel

Teams: Jade Dragons, Villainous Vipers
Placements: 1st (RDDI), 16th (RDAS-2)

  • Adaptational Jerkass: From a morally gray character to a sociopathic and cruel Hate Sink.
  • Adaptational Villainy: The original "Dramaverse" seasons displayed Rebecca as a neutral character who stayed out of the drama and only becoming a villain in All-Stars 2 after choosing to take a page from Natasha's book, with her actually starting out on the heroes team. Here she has no redeeming traits, doesn't show any remorse for her actions and sees nothing wrong with her amoral decisions to win.
  • Arch-Enemy: After turning on Terrance, he becomes hers.
  • Dark Action Girl: Leonard describes her as this. While she doesn't try to hurt others, she doesn't care when she does so.
  • Delinquent Hair: She has wavy hair dyed lavender and shaved off on one side.
  • Demoted to Extra: She literally went from 1st place in one season to dead last in the following one.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: She, of all people, thinks of Matthew as a psycho.
  • Evil Counterpart: To Duncan. He may be rebellious, but he's godly compared to Rebecca, who's Duncan if the bad qualities were amped up and the positives were removed.
  • Evil Wears Black: Her main attire includes a black bomber jacket, skinny jeans and beanie.
  • Hidden Agenda Villain: While she didn't hide who she was, she kept her true motives under wraps and intended to reveal them when she was in a good position to do so.
  • Laser-Guided Karma:
    • Rebecca manipulated Contessa's feelings for her and rips her heart out after getting her eliminated. After she makes the finale, Contessa has Chef give her muffins that make her so sick she barfs and craps herself in the confessional, doesn't get the money in either ending, and after the island sinks, she ends up being sent flying while still in the confessional.
    • The next season, she ends up being the first villain and competitor eliminated because she's earned a reputation as a psychopath.
  • Manipulative Bitch: She preys on Contessa's attraction towards her and enters a relationship with her with the intent of bringing her to the finale and dumping her so she could win unopposed. Her actions paint her in a very unflattering light with everyone afterwards.
  • Never Bareheaded: Always seen wearing her black beanie, which is part of her whole "rebel" image.
  • Purple Is Powerful: Her hair's lavender, a shade of purple, and she was one of the most cunning contestants of season 7, ultimately coming out on top.
  • Purple Is the New Black: She wears mostly black but with her hair and her eventually showing herself to be very antagonistic, she falls into this.

Rodney, the Country Boy

Teams: Jade Dragons, Llamas of Loserdom
Placements: 14th (RDDI), 18th (RDR)

  • Aesop Amnesia: Even though Rodney claims to have learned from his mistakes in Redemption, he becomes smitten with Amy immediately. What he doesn't know is that Amy had planned on this so Rodney would become her loyal henchman for the season.
  • History Repeats: He gets eliminated in Redemption the same way as Danger Island; a female villain took advantage of his feelings for her.
  • Love Makes You Dumb: His lovestruck persona makes him blind to people trying to trick him.

Scott, the Schemer

Teams: Ruby Warriors, Llamas of Loserdom
Placements: 9th (RDDI), TBA (RDR)

  • Big Bad: He gets his chance to properly be the main villain in Redemption, but he has to deal with Amy trying to one-up him.
  • Disc-One Final Boss: He was one of the main villains in season seven but thanks to Topher ratting him out and Olivia stealing the invincibility idol, he got axed in the seventh episode.
  • Even Evil Has Standards:
  • The Ghost: He doesn't return for All-Stars 2, but is frequently mentioned when someone needs to compare villainous tactics.
  • Mythology Gag: Scott's strategy for Season 9 is using knowledge from previous season after rewatching the entire series to create a new strategy. This was his original plot from canon-All-Stars.
  • Would Rather Suffer: He says in a confessional that he would rather be eaten by sharks than cheer for either of the Final Two.

Terrance, the Jerk

Teams: Jade Dragons, Villainous Vipers
Placements: 2nd (RDDI), 14th (RDAS-2)

  • Arch-Enemy: Rebecca after he starts to realize her true colors. Also Mitch to a lesser extent.
  • The Bully: He hates everyone and looks down on them.
  • Demoted to Extra: The runner-up of season 7, and he became the second villain (third contestant overall) to be eliminated in All-Stars 2.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: He doesn't approve of Rebecca ripping out Contessa's heart.
  • Jerk Jock: He's a basketball player who's label is "The Jerk".

Topher, the Chris Wannabe/Instigator

Teams: Ruby Warriors, Villainous Vipers
Placements: 5th (RDDI and RDAS-2)
  • Adaptational Villainy: The author wanted to explore what Topher could be without wanting to be Chris, and as a result, he's the Big Bad of All-Stars 2.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: He doesn't approve of Rebecca ripping out Contessa's heart.
  • Genre Savvy: He states in the bonus clip following his All-Stars 2 elimination that he knows every reality show trope there is.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: In "Moroccan Roll", He was so convinced he had managed to split up the alliances and turn everyone against each other that he didn't realize they were actually planning on ganging up on him, guaranteeing his elimination.
  • Meaningful Name: His label in season eight, "The Instigator". Not only does it describe his attempts to stir up drama, but it's another word for "Mastermind", Natasha's label which highlights Topher's status as the Big Bad.
