    Katress

#075: Katress / Kuremæw (クレメーオ)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/katress075.png
These humanoid Dark-elemental feline Pals can conjure arcane phenomena with their dark magic, and have a bitter rivalry with the light-wielding Wixen, right up to how cooked they prefer their food.

Their Partner Skill is Grimoire Collector, which makes Neutral-elemental Pals have a chance of increased drops when defeated/caught while Katress is the active Pal.
  • Animal Jingoism: They hate the vulpine-esque Wixens, and the feeling is mutual. This is averted if the player has both Pals in either active party, or working at the same base. They're both amicable as both have Undying Loyalty for the player.
  • Cats Are Magic: Yep. They're anthropomorphic cats with magical abilities. Katress is a Pal with a witchlike design, having a Robe and Wizard Hat. It uses telekinesis to handle tools at the player's base.
  • Expy: Its "hat" and "robe" bear a strong resemblance to Mismagius, and they also bear a resemblance to Meowscarada given them being humanoid feminine felines with an affinity for dark magic.
  • Humanoid Female Animal: Katress incorporates traits of witches (though they can also be male) and are more anthropomorphic than other cat Pals like Cattiva or Grintale.
  • Lady of Black Magic: Their design motif incorporates aspects of witches, notably the "hat" and "robe" while having an overall feminine design (though Katress can be male as well).
  • Light/Darkness Juxtaposition: Its dynamic with Wixen. Katress wields dark powers, while Wixen wields light, and the two have very similar design motifs. They're also bitter rivals.
  • Mind over Matter: Unlike most Pals with the Handiwork trait, Katress handles tools with telekinesis instead of its hands.
  • Random Drop Booster: Their Grimoire Collector partner skill makes Neutral-elemental Pals have a chance of increased drops when defeated/caught as long as Katress is active.
  • The Rival: Katress is extremely hostile to Wixen.

    Wixen

#076: Wixen / Foreena (フォレーナ)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/wixen076.png
Using the light from their flames, these Fire-element fox Pals can summon vivid illusions. Despite their somewhat similar appearances and abilities to Katress, the two oppose each other like night and day, right up to how cooked they prefer their food.

Their Partner Skill is Lord Fox, which increases the player's damage by a small amount and changes the player's attacks to Fire-elemental while Wixen is the active Pal.
  • Animal Jingoism: They hate the Katress species, and the feeling is mutual. They happily cooperate together if both are caught by the player.note
  • Expy: It's a Fire-element fox-like Pal with a strong witchy theme, a combo pointing to the Fennekin line as inspiration, particularly Delphox with the prominent red "robe" fur.
  • Fantastic Foxes: Witch foxes with fire powers, no less.
  • Humanoid Female Animal: Wixen incorporates traits of witches and their name references the term for a female fox (though they can also be male), and are more anthropomorphic than other fox Pals like Foxparks, Kitsun or Foxcicle.
  • Incendiary Exponent: Their partner skill Lord Fox applies Fire damage to the player's attacks.
  • Levitating Lotus Position: While asleep, they hold roughly this pose and hover a few feet off the ground.
  • Light/Darkness Juxtaposition: The Light to Katress's Darkness. While they both have similar illusory abilities, Wixen's are based on light while Katress's are based on darkness, and the two have a deep rivalry against one another. Wixen even learns Draconic Meteor at Level 50, presumably just to hit Katress super-effectively.
  • Punny Name: References vixen, the term for a female fox (though Wixens can be male), and "witch" or "Wiccans", a religious group strongly associated with witchcraft. As a Bilingual Bonus, the name also references hexen, the German word for witch.
  • The Rival: Wixen and Katress do not get along.
  • Spell Blade: When Wixen is the active party member, they will change the player's attacks to Fire-elemental while also providing a slight boost in damage.

    Verdash

#077: Verdash / Raberotto (ラベロット)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/verdash077.png
A humanoid rabbit-like Grass Pal. These rabbits run across land, turning them extremely fertile and causing lush vegetation to grow there in short order. However, they're repelled by herbicide, and will refuse to tread on ground tainted by such poisons.

Their Partner Skill is Grassland Speedster, which boosts the player's movement speed and changes the player's attacks to Grass-elemental while Verdash is the active Pal.
  • Bring It: Verdash is aggressive and like Anubis, will challenge the player to a fight with this hand gesture before attacking.
  • Expy: It's a clear combination of Cinderace and Leafeon, mixing the humanoid rabbit build and athletic Clothing Appendage of the former with the Grass typing, green-and-tan coloration, and long leaf-like ears of the latter.
  • Fertile Feet: The feet of a Verdash are capable of heavily boosting the fertility of land it runs across, not long after resulting in thick vegetation growing there. Despite this, the No. 2 Wildlife Sanctuary they naturally spawn in is a barren wasteland.
  • Gaia's Vengeance: Though a nature-loving Pal, it hates humans and will attack on sight. No doubt because people pollute the land with herbicides, which it abhors.
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation: Despite Verdash having Fertile Feet, the one location where they naturally spawn in the No. 2 Wildlife Sanctuary, which is a barren wasteland.
  • Jack of All Trades: Verdash has Planting, Lumbering, and Transporting at level 2, and both Handiwork and Gathering at level 3. This allows them to perform various operations at your base, albeit not as well as dedicated Pals.
  • Punny Name: It's a verdant green rabbit that loves dashing around.
  • Spell Blade: When Verdash is the active party member, they will change the player's attacks to Grass-elemental. This doesn't provide any extra damage, though.
  • Status Buff: Verdash boosts the movement speed of the player if they're the current active Pal.
  • Utility Party Member: Verdash has a lot of roles they can perform in the base, with Planting, Lumbering, and Transporting at level 2, and Handiwork and Gathering at level 3. This makes them extremely good all-rounders for a base.

    Vaelet

#078: Vaelet / Violetta (ヴィオレッタ)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vaelet078.png
A hybrid beetle-like Pal with purple petals growing from its back. According to "The King's Flower" fairytale, a castle a long time ago was filled with the king's favorite flowers. When the king's castle was assaulted and about to go up in flames, this flower spirit appeared to save the garden.

Their Partner Skill is Purification of Gaia, which makes Ground-elemental Pals have a chance of increased drops when defeated/caught while Vaelet is the active Pal.
  • Nature Spirit: They're flower spirits said to be the flowers of an fairytale king.
  • Pintsized Powerhouse: They're one of the smaller Pals out there, with the Alpha only being around the player's size, but all of their base stats are at 100 or above.
  • Poisonous Person: They learn Poison Fog at level 1 and is one of two Pals who learn the move naturally, the other being Cinnamoth.
  • Punny Name: Their name is a mix of Violet, Valet, and Fae. They're appropriately enough violet flower fairies that served as a king's valet in stories.
  • Random Drop Booster: Their Purification of Gaia partner skill makes Ground-elemental Pals have a chance of increased drops when defeated/caught as long as Vaelet is active.
  • Shout-Out: Its concept as a flower spirit connected to a king is reminiscent of AZ's Floette in Pokémon X and Y.

    Sibelyx

#079: Sibelyx / Silkyna (シルキーヌ Shirukiina)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sibelyx079.png
A Ice element moth Pal that resembles a fancy lady with a huge sunhat. Sibelyx prefer rainy days and love basking in rain showers until the weather clears. Their "sunhats" also act as makeshift umbrellas for Foxparks to take shelter from the rain.

Their Partner Skill is Silk Maker, which lets it use Blizzard Spike on a targeted enemy when activated. It also allows them to produce High Quality Cloth while assigned to a ranch.
  • Big Creepy-Crawlies: Sibelyx are moths that are taller than the player character.
  • Expy: They're one to Frosmoth, being an icy moth with a blue-and-white color scheme.
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation: Their Paldeck entry mentions that they let Foxparks take shelter under their hat from the rain… but the area they're found in is too cold for rain, and Foxparks do not appear at all in said area.
  • Hartman Hips: Sibelyx have a very narrow waist along with large "hips". Justified since they're moths, and their "waist" is the connection between the thorax and abdomen.
  • Humanoid Female Animal: Sibelyx has a feminine design resembling a stylish Winter Royal Lady and sports the Boss Subtitles of "Pallid Lady" (though they can be male), and are much more anthropomorphic than the other moth Pal Cinnamoth, which don't have a gender-specific design.
  • Ice Magic Is Water: They're one of the few Ice-element Pals (that aren't part-Water) that can learn a Water move, in this case Aqua Burst at level 40.
  • Item Caddy: When placed in a Ranch, they will produce High Quality Cloth, eliminating the need to manually craft it.
  • Meaningful Name: Their name is a portmanteau of Siberia and Bombyx, a genus of silk-producing moth. Fittingly, they're icy moths that live in cold climates and produce silk.
  • Moth Menace: The Alpha Sibelyx is hostile and will attack the player on sight. Subverted by normal Sibelyx, which will try to run away from the player unless attacked.
  • Nice Girl: On rainy days, they will let Foxparks take shelter under their huge hat. With the exception of the Alpha, most Sibelyx will often leave the player alone or even run from them unless attacked first.
  • Odd Friendship: They're icy moths that are weak to fire, but allow the Fire-elemental Foxparks to take shelter under them when it rains.
  • Pretty Butterflies: They're actually moths and not butterflies, but they still resemble pretty and stylish ladies with Stylish Sunhats.
  • Stylish Sunhats: "Wears" a large sunhat that's implied to protect them from the sun as they prefer rainy days. Foxparks use Sibelyx's hat to take shelter underneath on rainy days.
  • Tertiary Sexual Characteristics: Sibelyx have long eyelashes and Hartman Hips that give them a very feminine appearance. Despite this, they're equally likely to be male or female.
  • Winter Royal Lady: They're icy moths that resemble rich ladies with Stylish Sunhats, with their Boss Subtitles even being "Pallid Lady". However, they're equally likely to be male or female.

    Elphidran

#080: Elphidran / Sylphia (シルフィア)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/elphidran80.png
A bipedal dragon Pal with light blue scales all over its body, a pair of butterfly wings on its back and wears a golden collar with a red gem. Elphidran is as pure and innocent as its cute and friendly looks suggest. Unfortunately, this makes it sometimes unable to tell right from wrong, often allowing those with foul intentions to take advantage of it.

Their Partner Skill is Amicable Holy Dragon, which allows the player to ride Elphidran as a flying mount and makes Dark-elemental Pals have a chance of increased drops when defeated/caught while Elphidran is the active Pal.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Elphidran may be a sweet dragon, that even imitates your actions and jumps, but the field Alpha boss is still hostile to humans invading its territory. Furthermore, if you attack a docile one, it will cry in disbelief that you assaulted it, before chasing after you.
  • Delightful Dragon: Among the friendliest Dragon Pals in the game, though unfortunately, this has made it easy for evildoers and poachers to abuse their trust.
  • Fairy Dragons: While larger than the usual example, it's nonetheless got a distinctly fairy-esque design between its wings and overall form.
  • Good Cannot Comprehend Evil: The Pal has an innocent Gentle Giant nature and is gullible enough to get roped into the schemes and mischief of others.
  • Holy Burns Evil: Its partner skill is "Amicable Holy Dragon", which means that when fighting together, Dark Pals that are weak to it will drop more items when defeated.
  • Power Up Mount: Can be used as a mid-tier flying mount.
  • Random Drop Booster: Their Amicable Holy Dragon partner skill makes Dark-elemental Pals have a chance of increased drops when defeated/caught as long as Elphidran is active.
  • Secret Art: Mystic Whirlwind, a Dragon skill which conjures two tornadoes that chase enemies.
  • Super Drowning Skills: They can't swim, and will sink like a rock if you run out of stamina while flying over a large body of water.

#080b: Elphidran Aqua / Syltear (シルティア)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/elphidranaqua80b.png
The Dragon and Water element variation of Elphidran. Elphidran Aqua is as pure and innocent as its cute and friendly looks suggest. Because of this, it doesn't harbor any ill will towards anything and anyone, and is indifferent even after it has taken a life.

Their Partner Skill is Amicable Water Dragon, which allows the player to ride Elphidran Aqua as a flying mount and makes Fire-elemental Pals have a chance of increased drops when defeated/caught while Elphidran Aqua is the active Pal.
  • Fantastically Indifferent: It doesn't care whether you attack it or not, just as it doesn't care whether it kills you or not. This is a case of Gameplay and Story Segregation, as it's not found anywhere in the wild.
  • Power Up Mount: While fighting together, Fire Pals that are weak to it will drop more items when defeated or caught.
  • Random Drop Booster: Their Amicable Water Dragon partner skill makes Fire-elemental Pals have a chance of increased drops when defeated/caught as long as Elphidran Aqua is active.
  • Secret Character: It cannot be encountered in the wild, hatched from eggs found in the wild, or sold by merchants/Black Marketeers, and is only obtainable through breeding Elphidran with a Surfent (or two Elphidran Aqua).
  • Walk, Don't Swim: It's a water Pal, and can be safely ridden in water like other water Pals, but like its base form, it doesn't actually swim, so it appears to be walking on an invisible seabed with just its head and wings above the surface.

    Kelpsea

#081: Kelpsea / Kelpis (ケルピス Kerupisu)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kelpsea81.png
A Pal with both fish- and horse-like features. The water quality they were born into affects a Kelpsea's personality, with polluted waters causing them to grow into ill-tempered delinquents.

Their Partner Skill is Aqua Spout, which boosts the power of Water Pals in your team for each Kelpsea in your party. It also allows Kelpsea to produce Pal Fluids when placed at a Ranch.
  • Cool, Clear Water: The water they're born into affects their behaviour from hatching. As they swim around the clean waters of North of Ravine Entrance fast travel point and in the waters near the Alpha Pal Azurobe, they have a shy, docile temperament.
  • Expy: It heavily resembles Kurusu, the cut Water starter from the beta version of Pokémon Gold and Silver.
  • Fear Is the Appropriate Response: The sweet sea dragon is afraid of you, and unless you attack it, will try to run away if you approach the monsters swimming in shallow waters.
  • Game Hunting Mechanic: They drop Raw Kelpsea when killed, which can be eaten raw or cooked into a more fulfilling meal.
  • Item Caddy: Kelpsea will produce Pal Fluids when placed at a Ranch.
  • Our Kelpies Are Different: These little critters appear to be part-fish and part-horse that live in or around water, befitting their name. Unlike traditional Kelpies, they're too small to be ridden on, and are normally afraid of the player instead of trying to hurt them.
  • Ridiculously Cute Critter: They make adorable squeaking sounds befitting their cute looks and are very shy.
  • Stat Sticks: Simply having a Kelpsea in the party will boost the attacking power of all Water-Elemental Pals, making them great for support filler if you only rely on a single powerful Water Pal like Jormuntide or Suzaku Aqua.
  • Support Party Member: Their presence in the party boosts the attack of all your Water-elemental Pals in the party, giving it a unique niche in keeping them around even after they get overshadowed by stronger Water-element Pals. They also produce Pal Fluids when placed at a ranch.

#081b: Kelpsea Ignis / Magpis (マグピス Magpisu)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kelpseaignis81b.png
The Fire-element subspecies of Kelpsea. The water temperature they were born into affects a Kelpsea Ignis' personality, with warm waters causing them to become enthusiastic and passionate.

Their Partner Skill is Lava Spout, which boosts the power of Fire Pals in your team for each Kelpsea Ignis in your party.
  • Our Kelpies Are Different: These little critters appear to be part-fish and part-horse that live in or around lava. Unlike traditional Kelpies, they're too small to be ridden on, and are normally afraid of the player instead of trying to hurt them.
  • Ridiculously Cute Critter: Kelpsea Ignis are usually found in groups around streams of lava, and unlike the more timid Water species, are docile towards the player. They too also make adorable squeaking sounds befitting their cute looks.
  • Stat Sticks: Simply having a Kelpsea Ignis in the party will boost the attacking power of all Fire-Elemental Pals, making them great for support filler if you only rely on a single powerful Fire Pal like Jormuntide Ignis, Blazamut, or Ragnahawk.
  • Support Party Member: Their presence in the party boosts the attack of all your Fire-elemental Pals in the party, giving it a unique niche in keeping them around even after they get overshadowed by stronger Fire-element Pals.

    Azurobe

#082: Azurobe / Azurain (アズレーン)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/azurobe82.png
A serpentine Water and Dragon-elemental Pal. Azurobe are living pollution detectors, with their white ribbons turning black on contact with impure water. Unfortunately, this useful trait had led them to become the target of hunters and poachers, and the scars of this past has left their species distrustful of humans.

Their Partner Skill is Waterwing Dance, which allows the player to ride Azurobe as an aquatic mount. While mounted, the player's attack is boosted significantly and their attacks will deal Water-elemental damage.
  • Cynicism Catalyst: Being over-hunted by humanity has led to the entire species becoming distrustful of humans.
  • Equipment Upgrade: There's a low chance that defeating the field Alpha boss will give you the schematics for the Legendary pelt armour.
  • Endangered Species: They are highly valued for their ability to detect polluted water, leading to them being over-hunted by poachers. In-game, the only wild population outside of the boss Azurobe exists around a Wildlife Sanctuary.
  • Expy: They draw visual references from several Pokémon, with flowing blue hair like Primarina, a regal build like Serperior, long head ribbons like Milotic, a ball at the end of their tail like Dragonair, and a large serpentine body like the latter three.
  • Power Up Mount: Can be ridden with the appropriate Pal Gear. While slightly cumbersome on land and with virtually no jumping ability, it's quite zippy in the water and does not consume stamina while swimming.
  • The Resenter: Azurobe are all bitter towards humans through an age of mistreatment, but will only retaliate if the player attacks them first.
  • Sea Serpents: They're large, serpentine aquatic creatures with the Dragon element.
  • She Is the King: While the species' Boss Subtitles label it "Lady of the Lake", they have an equal chance to be male.
  • Spell Blade: When Azurobe is mounted, they will change the player's attacks to Water-elemental while also providing a significant boost in damage.

    Cryolinx

#083: Cryolinx / Tundrar (ツンドラー Tsundora)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cryolinx83.png
An Ice-elemental Pal that resembles a hybrid of a bipedal tiger and a catfish. They sport long arms with massive, hard claws on their ends, allowing them to effortlessly climb steep mountains. However, they did not develop the long legs needed to descend such high places, and several tend to get stranded after climbing mountains they couldn't get down from. Despite these odd shortcomings, they're adept at hunting dragons, as shown by their Dragon Hunter partner skill.

Their Partner Skill is Dragon Hunter, which makes Dragon-elemental Pals have a chance of increased drops when defeated/caught while Cryolinx is the active Pal.
  • Arduous Descent to Terra Firma: Due to having short legs, many Cryolinx that climb up high mountains have trouble getting back down, and often get stranded instead.
  • Cats Are Mean: They're lynx/tiger like Pals that are hostile and will attack on sight.
  • Cat Up a Tree: Their Paldeck entry is essentially a larger-scale version of this, with the feline Cryolinx getting stuck up a tall mountain they climbed up and couldn't get back down.
  • Crippling Overspecialization: Cryolinx developed long and hard claws which allow them to scale up mountains, but didn't develop long legs to allow them to scale down said mountains. This often leaves them stranded in high places, especially after climbing mountains with no easy way down.
  • Didn't Think This Through: They have long arms and big claws that make them extremely good at climbing up a mountain, but short legs that make it difficult for them to descend. This often causes them to climb to high places and get stranded after.
  • The Dragonslayer: Their Partner Skill is named Dragon Hunter, which implies that they're capable of taking down Dragon-elementals. This is helped by its Ice-element being strong against Dragons.
  • Top-Heavy Guy: Their arms and torsos are quite big, but their legs are almost non-existent. Great for climbing up mountains, not so much for getting back down.
  • Random Drop Booster: Their Dragon Hunter partner skill makes Dragon-elemental Pals have a chance of increased drops when defeated/caught as long as Cryolinx is active.
  • Wrong Line of Work: Though having a work suitability lv 3 in cooling, Cryolinx prefer to do lumbering trees instead. If you want to keep the cooler boxes/refrigerator running, a Foxcicle is way more suitable for the task. This is no longer an issue if the player uses the Monitoring Stand to let it only perform Cooling.

    Blazehowl

#084: Blazehowl / Gokuen'o (ゴクエンオ)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/blazehowl84.png
A lion-like Fire elemental Pal. Blazehowl prefers raw meat, but always ends up consuming overly cooked meat, as they're unaware that the blazing claws they hunt with always burn their prey to a crisp.

Their Partner Skill is Hellflame Lion, which makes Grass-elemental Pals have a chance of increased drops when defeated/caught while Blazehowl is the active Pal.
  • Beast of the Apocalypse: Its appearance, a lion with flaming manes, black fur covered in red stripes, a pair of black horns on its head featuring a set of flaming wings, all contribute to this.
  • Does Not Know His Own Strength: The monster has no idea its own fiery claws are ruining the taste of its meals.
  • Expy: While Fiery Lions are far from unheard of in Pokémonnote , Blazehowl instead takes design inspiration from Teostra of Monster Hunter through also having curved horns and draconic fiery wings.
  • Fiery Lion: It's a lion-like pal with a mane of fur that can produce scorching flames from its claws.
  • Power Up Mount: Blazehowl's Partner skill means all Grass-elemental Pals give the player more item drops when defeated or caught.
  • Random Drop Booster: Their Hellflame Lion partner skill makes Grass-elemental Pals have a chance of increased drops when defeated/caught as long as Blazehowl is active.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: It's possible for the player to feed them raw meat, finally giving them the raw meat they always loved but could not normally obtain.

#084b: Blazehowl Noct / Shin'en'o (シンエンオ)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/blazehowlnoct84b.png
The Dark-element variation of Blazehowl. Blazehowl Noct prefers raw and fresh meat, but always ends up consuming tainted and cursed meat, as they're unaware that the dark claws they hunt with always curse the meat of their prey.

Their Partner Skill is Darkflame Lion, which makes Neutral-elemental Pals have a chance of increased drops when defeated/caught while Blazehowl Noct is the active Pal.
  • Curse: It's got it even worse than its Fire-elemental main species in overcooking its meals, where Blazehowl Noct's kills are tainted by its own dark energies it can't control.
  • Expy: Being a blue-colored counterpart of the horned and winged Fiery Lion Blazehowl, the Noct version draws inspiration from Lunastra of Monster Hunter, though the Noct version being a Palette Swap while Lunastra has more notable differences from Teostra means the reference isn't as close as with regular Blazehowl.
  • Power Up Mount: Blazehowl Noct's Partner skill means all Neutral-elemental Pals give the player more item drops when defeated or caught.
  • Random Drop Booster: Their Darkflame Lion partner skill makes Neutral-elemental Pals have a chance of increased drops when defeated/caught as long as Blazehowl Noct is active.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: It's possible for the player to feed them raw meat, finally giving them the raw, untainted meat they always loved but could not normally obtain.

    Relaxaurus

#085: Relaxaurus / Pekodon (ペコドン)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/relaxaurus085.png
Relaxaurus is a giant saurian pal resembling a theropod dinosaur with stubby arms, a rotund blue body, and a cream underside. Despite its rather derpy look, it's an aggressive creature that sees almost everything as prey and will try to eat them no matter what.

Their Partner Skill is Hungry Missile, which allows you to mount Relaxaurus and allow it to unleash a homing missile storm while mounted.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: They may look like goofy cartoon dinosaurs, but they're still dinosaurs. They attack on sight and pack a punch, and it's entirely possible for a bunch of them to raid your base.
  • Big Eater: All of them come with the Glutton passive skill, which makes their hunger drop faster. Their Japanese name also references the cutesy term for being hungry (peko peko).
  • Blessed with Suck: Relaxaurus in the wild all come with Glutton, a negative passive skill that makes them hungry faster.
  • Dinosaurs Are Dragons: While their design is more akin to a dinosaur, they're Dragon-elemental.
  • Gameplay and Story Integration: All wild Relaxaurus have the Glutton passive skill, which fits into their Paldeck entry of seeing everything as prey and stopping at nothing to eat it.
  • Making a Splash: They're Water-elemental pals with many of the expected skills.
  • Macross Missile Massacre: Their Partner Skill allows them to fire a storm of homing rockets when mounted.
  • Mascot Mook: It appears on the game's icon, and is used as an icon by Pocketpair as well.
  • Punny Name: It's a dinosaur that appears highly relaxed.
  • Weaponized Animal: Its Partner Skill has the player riding it and equipping it with a rack of missile launchers.

#085b: Relaxaurus Lux / Baripidon (パリピドン)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/relaxauruslux085b.png
The Electric-elemental variant of Relaxaurus, Relaxaurus Lux is nearly identical to their Dragon and Water-elemental version. It has a bright yellow body instead of blue, black back patterns, and a lightning bolt-shaped crest on its head resembling a mohawk. A Relaxaurus Lux forms after a regular Relaxaurus thinks it's time for a change. The change manifests as an electric shock that races through its body, transforming it into its new form.

Their Partner Skill is Missile Party, which allows you to mount Relaxaurus Lux and allow it to unleash a homing missile storm while mounted.

    Broncherry

#086: Broncherry / Loveladon (ラブラドン)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/broncherry86.png
Broncherry is a hybrid brontosaurus with flower petals circling around its neck. Its scent drastically changes before and after pairing. It exudes a pleasing aroma after finding a partner, which is called the "fragrance of first love".

Their Partner Skill is Overaffectionate, which allows Broncherry to be mounted and increases the player's carrying capacity by a large amount when Broncherry is on the team.
  • Cherry Blossoms: They appear to be a cross between a sauropod and a Sakura cherry. They're also very love-themed, producing a pleasing aroma once they find a mate, which people call the "fragrance of first love".
  • Expy: Of Meganium, being a green dinosaur with a necklace of pink flower petals.
  • Game Hunting Mechanic: They drop Broncherry Meat when killed, which can be eaten raw for restoring 180 hunger or cooked into a more fulfilling meal that restores a high 252 hunger.
  • Gentle Giant Sauropod: They are big friendly sauropod pals that generally won't attack you unprovoked.
  • Green Thumb: They are Grass-elemental, capable of using some powerful Grass attacks as well as planting seeds in your gardens.
  • Item Caddy: They increase a player's max carrying capacity by being in the team.
  • Planimal: Some of their body parts are made of plants. It's also noted that their meat contains nutrients gained from photosynthesis.
  • Power Up Mount: They can be ridden, though they are the slowest mount in the game.
  • Punny Name: Not only is their name a combination of Brontosaurus and Cherry, but it's also a play on "mon cheri", the French term for "sweetheart" which fits their love theme.
  • Secret Art: Muscle Slam, a sideway tackle with their body that knocks the enemy back; smaller enemies are outright sent flying.

#086b: Broncherry Aqua / Spladon (スプラドン Supuradon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/broncherryaqua86b.png
The Water element subspecies of Broncherry. Its scent drastically changes before and after pairing. It exudes a pleasing aroma before finding a partner, which is called the "perfume of purity".

Their Partner Skill is Overaffectionate, which allows Broncherry Aqua to be mounted and increases the player's carrying capacity by a large amount when Broncherry Aqua is on the team.
  • Abandoned Mine: Unless you intend to breed a Broncherry with a Fuack, the Alpha boss of Broncherry Aqua can only be found hidden deep in the disused Shoal Mineshaft.
  • Gentle Giant Sauropod: This Pal can only be encountered as an Alpha field boss, yet it's as peaceful as the Grass species. The monster refrains from aggression unless you provoke it.
  • Underground Monkey: A blue, Water-elemental variant of Broncherry. Bonus points for the Broncherry Aqua field boss actually being found underground.

    Petallia

#087: Petallia / Florina (フラリーナ Furarian)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/petallia87.png
A humanoid Pal that transforms into a massive plant when at the end of its life. Once every ten years, a beautiful flower blooms and a new Petallia is born.

Their Partner Skill is Blessing of the Flower Spirit, which allows Petallia to heal the player for a moderate amount of health when activated.
  • Expy: It seems to draw inspiration from various humanoid Grass-type Pokémon, particularly Lilligant and Tsareena.
  • Holding Hands: While the player character uses the same petting animation for Petallia as every other Pal, Petallia will respond by raising its hands up to yours, giving the impression of you holding its hands instead of petting it.
  • The Medic: Petallia can heal the player with its Partner Skill.
  • Plant Person: A Grass-element plant Pal whose body shape resembles a human girl.
  • Transflormation: Petallia supposedly becomes a non-sentient plant at the end of its life, which every ten years produces a flower that blooms into a new Petallia to start the cycle anew.

    Reptyro

#088: Reptyro / Bolcannon (ボルカノン)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/reptyro88.png
A large tortoise-like monster, with a black body and shell. Magma-like blood runs throughout its body. If a large amount of water is thrown on it, this water rapidly heats, causing an immense vapor explosion.

Their Partner Skill is Ore-Loving Beast, which allows the player to mount Reptyro and increases both the player's and Reptyro's mining efficiency while mounted.
  • Anti-Structure: Their Partner Skill increases the player's as well as their own mining efficiency when mounted, making them deal incredible damage to ores.
  • Eat Dirt, Cheap: Their partner skill is called Ore-loving Beast, which implies that they eat the rock and mineral in ores.
  • Mighty Glacier: While these tortoise-like Pals are strong, they are also very slow in turning to face their enemies to attack. You can run circles around a wild Reptyro.
  • My Blood Runs Hot: Reptyro have magma-like blood that can heat water rapidly enough to cause a vapor explosion.
  • Secret Art: Volcanic Burst, a move that causes a fiery eruption to appear under the enemy, followed by a spread of magma rock projectiles erupting from that zone.
  • Utility Party Member: They are a fantastic addition for your base due to their work suitability in mining ore and kindling the furnaces to smelt minerals.

#088b: Reptyro Cryst / Froscannon (フロスカノン)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/reptyrocryst88b.png
An Ice-element variation of Reptyro. Ice cold blood runs throughout its body. If heated rapidly, its blood evaporates, causing an immense vapor explosion.

Their Partner Skill is Ice-Loving Beast, which allows the player to mount Reptyro Cryst and increases both the player's and Reptyro Cryst's mining efficiency while mounted.
  • Anti-Structure: Their Partner Skill increases the player's as well as their own mining efficiency when mounted, making them deal incredible damage to ores.
  • Secret Art: Frost Burst, a move that causes a frozen explosion to appear under the enemy, followed by a spread of snowball projectiles erupting from that zone.
  • Underground Monkey: An Ice/Ground version of Reptyro whose blood is cold instead of hot.
  • Wrong Line of Work: It has a work suitability lv 3 in cooling, but Reptyro Cryst often opts to do mining instead of stationing the cooler box or refrigerator. You would be better off giving the job to a Foxcicle, or even a Jolthog Cryst. This is no longer an issue if the player uses the Monitoring Stand to let it only perform Cooling.

    Kingpaca

#089: Kingpaca / Alpaou (アルパオー)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kingpaca89.png
An alpaca-like Pal with fluffy wool that's covered in a red royal robe. These portly alpaca Pals rule over Melpaca, who act as its vassals. When Kingpaca contest each other, they put their Melpaca servants on the line, and a Kingpaca seen alone is one who has lost such a contest.

Their Partner Skill is King of Muscles, which allows Kingpaca to be mounted and increases the player's carrying capacity by a large amount when Kingpaca is on the team.
  • Belly Flop Crushing: Its unique ability, Kingly Slam, has it jumping high into the sky and attempt to land on the enemy.
  • Equipment Upgrade: Defeating the field Alpha boss might reward you with the schematics for the Legendary old bow.
  • Item Caddy: They increase a player's max carrying capacity by being in the team.
  • King Mook: Of Melpaca, and the Alpha have some Melpaca as mooks.
  • She Is the King: Kingpaca are mostly male, but there is a 10% chance for them to be female despite being a king of Melpaca.
  • Stout Strength: Kingpaca is visibly and undeniably fat, so rotund its legs are barely visible. It's also undeniably strong, hitting very hard with its attacks and raising your carry capacity just by being on your team. Its ability is even called "King of Muscles".

#089b: Kingpaca Cryst / Aopaou (アオパオー)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kingpacacryst89b.png
The Ice element subspecies of Kingpaca. This Pal's cold nature and icy heart makes them terrible at expressing their emotions. This makes it much harder for them to gain Melpaca followers compared to their regular variant, as their lack of emotional skill often makes them seen as clumsy in the eyes of Melpaca.

Their Partner Skill is King of Muscles, which allows Kingpaca Cryst to be mounted and increases the player's carrying capacity by a large amount when Kingpaca Cryst is on the team.
  • Ice Magic Is Water: They're one of the few Ice-element Pals (that aren't part-Water) that can learn a Water move, in this case Aqua Burst at level 40.
  • No Social Skills: Their icy temperament makes it hard for them to express their emotions, which causes them to be seen as clumsy in the eyes of Melpaca. This makes it harder for them to find Melpaca followers. Indeed, unlike the Alpha Kingpaca, the Alpha Kingpaca Cryst has no Melpaca minions aiding it.
  • Personality Powers: They're an Ice-elemental variant of Kingpaca and appropriately enough have a cold nature and icy heart.
  • Pet the Dog: You catching one can be seen as this, as Kingpaca Cryst are unable to gain any followers, living alone inside the caves of the Forgotten Mineshaft.
  • She Is the King: Kingpaca Cryst are mostly male, but there is a 10% chance for them to be female despite being a king of Melpaca.
  • Wrong Line of Work: Despite having a work suitability lv 3 in cooling, they are a terrible choice for keeping the refrigerator running. Because of their large size, it takes up a large amount of space, and its hunger bar drains twice as fast as the Jolthog Cryst, Foxcicle, and even the huge Frostallion.

    Mammorest

#090: Mammorest / Guranmoss (グランモス Granmasu)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mammorest90.png
A huge quadrupedal monster that resembles a wooly mammoth. The vegetation that grows on the backs of Mammorest differs between individuals. There is a long history of appreciating this veritable garden of a Pal, to the point where Mammorest pruning has become an actual occupation.

Their Partner Skill is Gaia Crusher, which allows the player to mount Mammorest and increases both the player's and Mammorest's logging and mining efficiency while mounted.
  • Anti-Structure: Their Partner Skill increases the player's as well as their own logging and mining efficiency when mounted, making them deal incredible damage to trees and ores.
  • Beef Gate: There is nothing stopping you from fighting Mammorest encountered in early areas, including the boss Mammorest in the Plateau of Beginnings… aside from the fact that they're found at Level 30+ and will crush you in short order if you try.
  • Dishing Out Dirt: They are capable of using Ground moves and their signature move, Earth Impact is Ground-elemental rather than Grass.
  • Duel to the Death: Sometimes, two Mammorest can spawn hostile to each other and will keep attacking each other until one dies. The player should keep a wide berth from this fight, as their Grass Tornado and Earth Impact deal powerful, wide-area collateral damage.
  • Game Hunting Mechanic: They drop Mammorest Meat when killed, which can be eaten raw for restoring 180 hunger or cooked into a more fulfilling meal that restores 252 hunger.
  • Gentle Giant: Mammorests are huge, especially the Alpha, but they will not attack you unless you strike first. On the other hand, you can rarely find two Mammorest fighting to the death in the wild, often with detrimental effects to everything around them.
  • Green Thumb: A grass elemental that is also capable of planting seeds.
  • Honorable Elephant: They have been highly appreciated historically for their unique vegetation on their back to the point that some people have specialized on pruning them.
  • Planimal: It's a mammoth that's also part forest. Furthermore, Mammorest Meat is basically both meat and vegetables at the same time.
  • Shockwave Stomp: Their Secret Art Earth Impact has them slamming down on the ground with their front legs, creating a powerful tremor. Even though there are monsters with a higher work suitability level in mining than Mammorest, this Pal's "Earth Impact" attack causes large area-of-effect damage to rocks. Rotating multiple Mammorest in your party is a very fast method to mine multiple ore deposits.
  • Stone Wall: Befitting a gigantic mammoth, Mammorest has the highest base HP stat in the game at 150, beating out all the legendaries including both Frostallion variants (at 140), and sports respectable defense of 90 to boot. Their attack stat is rather average at 85 and pales in comparison to legendaries and end-game pals. Mammorest's speed, however, is mostly slow and lumbering.
  • War Elephants: They can be ridden and can be easily turned into these.
  • Utility Party Member: They can be used to mine and to cut down trees and can get better at it when ridden.

#090b: Mammorest Cryst / Blizzamoss (ブリザモス Blizzamosu)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mammorestcryst90b.png
The Ice-element variation of Mammorest. The vegetation that grows on the backs of Mammorest Cryst differs between individuals — including ancient plants thought to be extinct, as their seeds were found frozen on the back of one.

Their Partner Skill is Ice Crusher, which allows the player to mount Mammorest Cryst and increases both the player's and Mammorest Cryst's logging and mining efficiency while mounted.
  • Anti-Structure: Their Partner Skill increases the player's as well as their own logging and mining efficiency when mounted, making them deal incredible damage to trees and ores.
  • Gentle Giant: Out in the Pristine Snow Field where it lives, it's a passive creature so long as you leave it alone.
  • Living Relic: It lived in a bygone era before the deity Frostallion had to fight a calamity and ruin an island, to save the rest of the world. The former Grass Pal later thawed out as a Ice elemental. Humans later rediscovered seeds of presumed extinct plants that were still frozen on the back of a Mammorest Cryst.
  • Mammoths Mean Ice Age: Mammorest Cryst is on the same island as where Frostallion lives, meaning it survived the God of the islands sealing away an ancient calamity along with its home in eternal winter.

    Wumpo

#091: Wumpo / Hieti (ヒエティ)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/wumpo91.png
A round bipedal Ice-elemental monster. These yeti-like Pals are often seen with a sprig in… whatever is in the place where their mouths should be, and seem to be made of nothing but sentient hair — when researchers tried to shave all the hair off a Wumpo, there was nothing underneath, and all that was left was a pile of lifeless hair.

Their Partner Skill is Guardian of the Snowy Mountain, which allows Wumpo to be mounted and increases the player's carrying capacity by a huge amount when Wumpo is on the team.
  • Awesome, but Impractical: Wumpo has the best Transporting skill in the game at 4, and would thus be the best transporter in a base… in theory. In practice, due to having a number of other skills, Wumpo will often become distracted with logging trees or crafting, diminishing its use as a transporter. It's also rather slow compared to Helzephyr or Vanwyrm (Cryst), both of which have Transporting 3 and can be made to focus solely on Transporting.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: These yeti Pals have a hostility towards the player that betrays their cartoonish appearance, attacking on sight.
  • Bigfoot, Sasquatch, and Yeti: They are based on Yetis, seeing as they're encountered in cold climates and are extremely hairy. Their Japanese name even sounds like Yeti.
  • Expy: They appear to be a cross between Tangrowth and cut Pokémon Wolfman and Warwolf.
  • Item Caddy: They increase a player's max carrying capacity by a huge 120 by being in the team, the highest in the game. They also have the best Transporting skill at 4, making them good at transporting resources.
  • Oral Fixation: They're never seen without a large sprig coming out of where their mouths should be.
  • Prehensile Hair: The entire Pal appears to be made out of sentient hair. When researchers tried to shave off all the hair of one, there wasn't anything beneath and all that was left was just hair.
  • Stone Wall: In terms of stats, they have a huge 140 base HP, same as Frostallion and second only to Mammorest, while their base defense is also a good 100. However, their base attack of 80 is low for a late-game Pal.
  • Utility Party Member: They have the best Transporting skill at lv 4, making them excellent for porting items around the base. Furthermore, once its skill is unlocked, having a Wumpo in the team will also increase the player's carrying capacity by a huge 120 (and even more if condensed). The problem is, they always prioritize their other jobs first, and even if the player uses the Monitoring Stand to make them only perform Transporting, their slow speed is a hindrance. You would be better off catching and tasking a Helzephyr or Vanwyrm Cryst with moving items around the base.

#091b: Wumpo Botan / Tropiti (トロピティ Toropiti)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/wumpobotan91b.png
The Grass-elemental subspecies of Wumpo. These bigfoot-like Pals are often seen with a sprig in… whatever is in the place where their mouths should be, and seem to be made of nothing but sentient grass — when researchers tried to cut all the grass off a Wumpo Botan, there was nothing underneath, and all that was left was a pile of grass.

Their Partner Skill is Guardian of the Grassy Fields, which allows Wumpo Botan to be mounted and increases the player's carrying capacity by a huge amount when Wumpo Botan is on the team.
  • Awesome, but Impractical: Wumpo Botan has the best Transporting skill in the game at 4, and would thus be the best transporter in a base… in theory. In practice, due to having a number of other skills, Wumpo Botan will often become distracted with logging trees, planting, or crafting, diminishing its use as a transporter. It's also rather slow as well.
  • Bigfoot, Sasquatch, and Yeti: Due to their Grass theming, Wumpo Botan takes more after Bigfoot than their base form.
  • Oral Fixation: Like their normal counterparts, Wumpo Botan are never seen without a large sprig coming out of where their mouths should be.
  • Planimal: The entire Pal is made of animate foliage. Researchers once trimmed off all the leaves and plant growth of one, and nothing was underneath.
  • Stone Wall: In terms of stats, they have a huge 140 base HP, same as Frostallion and second only to Mammorest, while their base defense is also a good 110. However, their base attack of 80 is low for a late-game Pal.

    Warsect

#092: Warsect / Guracres (グラクレス)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/warsect92.png
This Pal has the appearance of a giant, armored Elephant beetle. The ultra-hard armor surrounding its body is extremely strong and heat resistant. Even a napalm blast would hardly leave a scratch.

Their Partner Skill is Hard Armor, which increases the player's defense as well as giving the player resistance to Fire-elemental attacks.
  • Equipment Upgrade: There's a small chance that defeating the field Alpha boss will grant you schematics for the Legendary metal helm.
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation: Despite their Paldeck entry claiming that their armor is heat-resistant, they're a Grass-elemental Pal which is Weak to Fire. Their fire resistance buff from their Partner Skill also only applies to the player, not themselves.
  • Go for the Eye: Due to Warsect being armored all over, its only critical hit spots are their eyes.
  • Incendiary Exponent: In-game, their Partner Skill description claims to add Fire damage to the player's attacks, despite Warsect being a Ground/Grass-elemental. In actuality, the description is misleading and they actually provide the player with extra defense against fire attacks.
  • Japanese Beetle Brothers: Warsect combines both beetles into a single design, as its two horizontal horns evoke the stag beetle while the vertical one resembles the rhinoceros beetle.
  • Men Are Tough: Warsect has an overwhelmingly high 85% chance to be male, and they're depicted as very Tough Beetles with a skill that even increases the player's defense.
  • Sweet Tooth: A possible drop if downed is honey, meaning it cuts down trees to collect it.
  • Tough Beetles: Their Defense and health are quite formidable, the player gets increased defense just for having it out, and wild Warsect always have the Hard Skin passive skill to make them even tougher.

    Fenglope

#093: Fenglope / Murakumo (ムラクモ)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fenglope93.png
Fenglope is an antelope-like with light-blue fur Pal. Its beautiful and majestic appearance often made it a subject for painting during ancient times. Sadly, they've become an endangered species during the modern day, as their beautiful fur and horns are heavily prized by poachers.

Their Partner Skill is Wind and Clouds, which allows the player to ride Fenglope as a mount with fast speed and double jump capability.
  • Double Jump: Its partner skill "Wind and Clouds" allows it to double jump while mounted. Together with its Super-Speed, Fenglope can cover an insane amount of distance quickly.
  • Endangered Species: Its fur and horns are in high demand from poachers, to the point where it's now threatened with extinction.
  • Expy: It strongly resembles Cobalion.
  • Super-Speed: As a rideable Pal, it is very very fast with its dash attacks. Breeding one with skills like Swift, Runner, and Nimble will see it come up second only to Jetragon.

    Felbat

#094: Felbat / Yamitobari (ヤミトバリ)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/felbat94.png
Felbat is a bipedal, humanoid Pal with a primarily black body and billowy white hair/fur similar to a mane. This Pal ambushes its prey from the shadows and traps them within its cloak-like wings. It's probably best not to know what happens within them, and it's not hard to imagine why the insides of its wings are stained red.

Their Partner Skill is Life Steal, which allows both Felbat and the player to heal for a portion of the damage they deal as long as Felbat is active.
  • Bat Out of Hell: A man-sized vampire bat that shrouds victims in its wings and rips them to shreds.
  • Blood Is the New Black: Felbat's wings aren't red, they're blood-stained from its many victims.
  • Bloodsucking Bats: Implied. Their Paldeck entry mentions that they tear up their victims within their wings, staining them red, and their Boss Subtitles is "Gloom-shrouded Bloodsucker". Their partner skill Life Steal also invokes this trope by being a Life Drain ability.
  • Hidden Depths: Felbat's only work proficiency is Medicine at Level 3, meaning that it's surprisingly good at being The Medic at your base despite its scary, predatory nature.
  • Leave Me Alone!: Like with Loupmoon, it's solitary and ignores humans, but if the player lingers around them for too long, they may get irritated and attack.
  • Life Drain: Their Partner Skill, Life Steal, allows both the player's and its own attacks to restore the user's health for a portion of the damage dealt.

    Quivern

#095: Quivern / Fesukii (フェスキー)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/quivern95.png
A big, fluffy, dragon Pal. Sleeping while cuddling a Quivern is said to be a heavenly experience, but there are some who have been crushed and sent to heaven by ones that toss and turn in their sleep.

Their Partner Skill is Sky Dragon's Affection, which allows the player to ride Quivern as a flying mount and increases Dragon damage dealt by Quivern when mounted.
  • Acid Attack: At level 15, it learns Acid Rain to create acidic clouds that chase and damage enemies that come into contact.
  • And Call Him "George": Quivern seemingly have no objections to sleeping cuddled up to a tamer, and it's generally a pleasant experience… unless the Quivern rolls over and crushes you.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Quivern is mostly docile and can be found sleeping peacefully at times. However once provoked, they are a force to be reckoned with.
  • Confusion Fu: Their natural level-up moveset contains Dragon, Fire, Water, and Grass moves.
  • Cuddle Bug: When awake, cuddling a Quivern is said to be a heavenly experience, but some humans were known to be crushed and sent to heaven accidentally by their Quiverns tossing and turning in their sleep. Bonus points for it looking like an animal angel.
  • Deathbringer the Adorable: You can find the alpha boss in a dungeon known as the 'Sealed Realm Of The Winged Tyrant', which is an absurd name when you see how endearingly cute it is.
  • Delightful Dragon: A huge, fluffy, angelic dragon Pal that is adorably friendly when caught.
  • Feathered Dragons: They're covered in fluffy feathers that make them great for cuddling.
  • Giant Flyer: It has an equally large wingspan to match its big size. Quivern can be ridden as a flying mount, but is not the fastest Pal in the air. Surprisingly, a high-level dragon is comparable in ground speed and flying to Helzephyr, one of the fastest non-legendary flying mounts.
  • Hidden Depths: One of only three dragon Pals to have any skill in handiwork. You wouldn't think a creature so big is able to use crafting benches.
  • Meaningful Name: Quiver + Wyvern. A quiver full of arrows would contain lots of feathered ends, just like how this dragon is covered in feathers.
  • Mighty Glacier: Depending on how well you breed and raise one, while their speed stat will never grow very high, these dragon Pals can become formidable in battle, dishing out and tanking damage even against the powerful late-game bosses. Focusing too much on power alone can make them a Glass Cannon in any other circumstance.
  • Power Up Mount: Can be used as a flying steed. While its speed is only slightly above average and slower than the earlier Helzephyr, it compensates with better stamina. When riding one, it boosts all Dragon-elemental attacks.
  • Sleep Squashing: Quivern is an adorable angel dragon, but due to its size, has accidentally sent humans into Heaven in its sleep.
  • Sleepyhead: Amusingly, the boss will fall asleep in front of you if you don’t provoke it.
  • Super Drowning Skills: They can't swim, and will sink like a rock if you run out of stamina while flying over a large body of water.

    Blazamut

#096: Blazamut / Volkaiser (ボルカイザー)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/blazamut96.png
A bipedal dinosaur-like monster with gray mane, red scales, and a set of lava rock hands and horns. Legends say it was born during a volcanic eruption. A strange group even claims that this continent is laid upon the back of a giant Blazamut.

Their Partner Skill is Magma Kaiser, which allows the player to mount Blazamut and increases Fire damage dealt by the player and Blazamut when mounted.

    Helzephyr

#097: Helzephyr / Hellgaruda (ヘルガルダ)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/helzephyr.png
Big, nocturnal birds of prey with bright glowing features. Helzephyr is rumored to have ties to hell itself, summoning deadly infernal lightning and supposedly condemning the souls of its victims.

Their Partner Skill is Wings of Death, which allows the player to ride Helzephyr as a flying mount. While mounted, the player's attack is boosted significantly and their attacks will deal Dark-element damage.
  • Airborne Mook: They're flight-capable Pals that are also aggressive and will attack you on sight, spawning readily at night in the middle of the map.
  • Bioluminescence Is Cool: Their markings glow brightly at night, making Helzephyr visible from a mile away and giving them a striking appearance.
  • Casting a Shadow: Pure Dark-elemental, and they fly only at night. When used as a mount, they add Dark damage to the player's attacks.
  • Divine Date: Frostallion Noct came into being when one such Dark Pal mated with Frostallion, the Guardian god of the islands.
  • Dragged Off to Hell: Their Paldeck entry states that those killed by its infernos will be sent to the underworld.
  • Expy: It's a giant Dark-elemental bird-like Pal with heavy association to death and the afterlife, all traits pointing to Yveltal as inspiration.
  • Fake Ultimate Mook: They're found at rather high levels for the areas where they spawn, look positively frightening, are almost always heralded by the battle music for powerful enemies, and tend to have fairly powerful skills… on paper. In practice, they're unable to hit the player with Shadow Burst while they're standing on the ground, their Flare Storm attack moves slowly and is easy to dodge, and their Dark Ball is a homing Painfully Slow Projectile that is easy to run from until it dissipates, so they're not nearly as threatening as they look.
  • Feathered Fiend: These birds are feared as creatures from hell itself, and while that's not necessarily literal, they do have the aggressiveness and dark powers to back it up.
  • Magikarp Power: An unusual case — while Helzephyr can be caught at a decent level and have good stats, they have an extremely bad case of Hitbox Dissonance with the skills they have at that level which makes them nearly unable to do damage (because of its model's shape and flying movement, it's almost incapable of hitting ground-based enemies with Shadow Burst, Flare Storm is both inaccurate and has inconsistent damage output, and Dark Ball is a Painfully Slow Projectile that sometimes doesn't properly do damage even when it connects when used by Helzephyr). It takes Skill Fruit or some leveling to let them use their stats effectively, or waiting to unlock the function to use them as a mount.
  • Names to Run Away from Really Fast: Being named after Hel, the Norse goddess of the underworld is a general testament to how dangerous these creatures can be, especially when they have actual hellish powers.
  • Playing with Fire: Despite their appearance and Paldeck entry suggesting an Electric affinity, their hellish traits instead manifest more in the form of them learning a handful of Fire skills.
  • Power Up Mount: Can be used as a flying mount that adds Dark damage to the player's attacks while ridden. It's also one of the faster flying mounts, outspeeding even some later options.
  • Spell Blade: When Helzephyr is mounted, they will change the player's attacks to Dark-elemental while also providing a significant boost in damage.
  • Technicolor Fire: The plume on their head resembles a bright pink and blue flame, and given their natural access to Fire skills, may actually be one.
  • Utility Party Member: Their only working proficiency is Transporting level 3, which means that they can focus solely on transporting without being distracted by other tasks. Since they are Nocturnal Mooks, it also means they can do this all day and night.
  • Your Soul Is Mine!: They can often drop Medium Pal Souls, lending some credence to their reputation for casting the souls of its victims into hell.

    Astegon

#098: Astegon / Jiorava (ジオラーヴァ)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/astegon98.png
A robotic-like dragon Pal. The Paldeck ominously warns it is a savage and possibly demonic beast born of the abyss, and to avoid confronting it.

Their Partner Skill is Black Ankylosaur, which allows the player to mount Astegon and increases both the player's and Astegon's mining efficiency while mounted.
  • Anti-Structure: Their Partner Skill increases the player's as well as their own mining efficiency when mounted, making them deal incredible damage to ores.
  • Call a Smeerp a "Rabbit": Astegon's partner skill refers to it as a "Black Ankylosaur", but it has the appearance of a bipedal robotic Western dragon lacking any strong visual references to the dinosaur species, not even a ridged back or clubbed tail. That being said, Ankylosaur is Latin for "fused lizard", and Astegon does appear to be a dragon made of metal plates fused together.
  • Cybernetic Mythical Beast: Implied by its drops and appearance. When captured or defeated, it will drop pal metal ingots (manufactured at an electric furnace) and quartz.
  • Dark Is Evil: While its actual mindset aside from "attack on sight" is uncertain, Astegon's Paldeck description (if you could even call it that) plays it up as being a destructive abomination of a Pal.
  • Dragons Are Demonic: Astegon's description, paired with its Alpha version being fought in a dark cave lit only by lava flows, gives this thing the impression of a ruthless hellspawn.
  • The Dreaded: When the Paldeck entry for this thing reads more like commandments related to a Beast of the Apocalypse, you better believe it's a thoroughly feared creature.
  • Equipment Upgrade: Defeating the Astegon in the Destroyed Mineshaft might reward you with the Legendary Heat Resistant Refined Metal Armor schematics as a Rare Random Drop.
  • Expy: It looks a lot like a cross between Zekrom and Mega Aggron.
  • Hidden Depths: One of only three dragon Pals to have any skill in handiwork. You wouldn't think a creature associated with the apocalypse is able to use crafting benches and create things.
  • Super-Toughness: Wild Astegon will always have the Hard Skin passive, increasing their Defense.
  • Utility Party Member: Astegon's Partner Skill allows it to deal more damage to ore while mounted, and they also sport a Mining Proficiency of 4. With an Elite Tweak and giving it Lightning Strike, it can instantly obliterate massive areas of ore, making it an even better manual miner than Digtoise.

    Menasting

#099: Menasting / Deathting (デスティング)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/menasting99_5.png
A ghostly Dark/Ground scorpion Pal whose body is entirely hollow. It devours prey whole and traps them inside itself, and screams can often be heard emitting from inside it as the prey is absorbed.

Their Partner Skill is Steel Scorpion, which increases the player's defense and makes Electric-elemental Pals have a chance of increased drops when defeated/caught while Menasting is the active Pal.

    Anubis

#100: Anubis (アヌビス)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/anubis100.png
A jackal-like humanoid Pal. Anubis was once seen as a symbol of nobility and an idol for those who shunned wealth and power. Yet over time, this Pal became a token of death.

Their Partner Skill is Guardian of the Desert, which increases the player's damage by a small amount and changes the player's attacks to Earth-elemental while Anubis is the active Pal. Anubis also can Flash Step whenever they are attacked.
  • Beware of Vicious Dog: Anubis is very territorial and will aggressively attack you with various skills and martial stances. The Pal becomes much friendlier when caught by the player.
  • Bring It: This Pal is aggressive and like Verdash, challenges the player to a fight with this hand gesture.
  • Crosshair Aware: Their Secret Art Spinning Roundhouse always has its area of effect marked by a glowing outline before executing the kick, even when owned by the player.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: It has a decently intimidating appearance, is strongly associated with death, and has an aggressive attitude, but in truth it acts as guardian for wherever it calls home, and despite the death-based reputation, better represents its original status as a sign of nobility and idol for the downtrodden.
  • Disc-One Nuke: Anubis is remarkably easy to get by breeding as soon as you unlock the Breeding Farm due to it being obtainable through several pairings of relatively common early-game Palsnote . Not only does Anubis have powerful stats that can carry you to the endgame, it also has the best Handiwork skill in the game at 4, and a Mining skill of 3.
  • The Engineer: Being the only Pal with a Handiwork skill of 4 (5 when condensed), Anubis are best used as structure and equipment builders in a base, as each level of Handiwork performs 3 times as fast as the previous.
  • Expy: While largely based directly on Anubis from Egyptian mythology, its animations and moveset draw strong inspiration from Lucario, which itself is also based on Anubis.
  • Flash Step: Anubis is able to perform this with its "Guardian of the Desert" ability to dodge attacks, including bullets.
  • Lightning Bruiser: In addition to having high HP, attack, and defense, Anubis also learns four different attacks that have over 100 power. He also moves quickly and is capable of dodging bullets aimed at him.
  • Production Throwback: To Craftopia's Anubis. Both are involved with upgrading stats though items (Anubis himself in Craftopia, and the Statues of Power with Anubis' image in Palworld).
  • Ridiculously Fast Construction: With a Handiwork skill of 4, Anubis can easily construct several base structures in the span of less than half a minute at maximum. Condensing one to max will bless it with Handiwork 5, becoming three times as fast.
  • Secret Art: Notably has three exclusive skills: Spinning Roundhouse, a Ground-elemental Roundhouse Kick that deals heavy damage around Anubis, Forceful Charge, another Ground skill that has Anubis charging at enemies while wreathed in energy, and Ground Smash, a Ground skill where Anubis leaps into the air then lands with a powerful punch that causes a wide-area, massive damage quake.
  • Spell Blade: When Anubis is the active party member, they will change the player's attacks to Ground-elemental while also providing a slight boost in damage.
  • Utility Party Member: While they do have great combat stats, Anubis also has the benefit of being the best option for manual labor given how quickly they can craft and mine with their Handiwork 4. Condensing one to max will give it Handiwork 5, which is notable as each level in Handiwork performs three times as fast as the previous.
