Princess Amira

  • The High Queen: Of Sakhmet.
  • Politically-Active Princess: As shown in the Desert Diplomacy event, she takes an active part in the politics of Sakhmet.
  • Princesses Rule: She hasn't changed her title since inheriting the throne out of respect for her late father.
  • Rebellious Princess: She has had many suitors, but she always tells them that she will never marry anyone.
  • Remember the New Guy?: Initially, Princess Vyssa was supposed to be the only child of King Coltzan III and her Neopedia article (released prior to the Lost Desert Plot) thus describes her as being heir to his throne. Princess Amira was created later, written in as the eldest who was away due to official business when her father was murdered. Subsequently she has inherited the throne rather than Vyssa.

Princenote  Jazan

  • And Now You Must Marry Me: Attempts this by trapping Sakhmet in another dimension as he thinks marriage is a Curse Escape Clause.
  • Anti-Villain: While he's certainly the main antagonist for most of the plot, it's not out of pure malice but desperation to break his undead curse.
  • Curse Escape Clause: He thinks that marriage will free him and the city of Qasala from their curse, but it turns out not to be the case. Turns out it just brought Razul back and killing him was the real escape clause.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: He may have redeemed himself, but he still has knowledge of dark magic.
  • Fatal Flaw: His inability to take "no" for an answer, as Amira's repeated rejections of him causes him to imprison Sakhmet in another dimension until she is forced to give in to his demands.
  • Guyliner: He's so well-known for his that there is a wearable makeup item based on it.
Description of Jazan's Guyliner: This guyliner appears to be cursed. But you'll still look fabulous!
  • Happily Married: To Nabile.
  • Love Redeems: His marriage to Nabile has him drop any signs of villainy, allowing him and Amira to establish peace between the two cities.
  • May–December Romance: The December to Nabile's May due to having been undead for centuries.
  • Really 700 Years Old: He's been cursed for a long time.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: In his undead form.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: He is carrying out his own investigation in The Faeries' Ruin plot.
  • The Snark Knight: So very much.
  • Sour Supporter: In The Faeries' Ruin.
  • They Call Me MISTER Tibbs!:
    Altador: Jazan!
    Jazan: That's King Jazan, Altador.
  • The Undead: Until Razul dies.
  • Villainous Friendship: With Nightsteed.
  • Why Waste a Wedding?: He is married to Nabile rather than the unwilling Amira, as was originally intended.

Emperor Razul

  • Archnemesis Dad: To Jazan.
  • Big Bad: Of the Lost Desert plot.
  • Dem Bones: He's a fiery skeleton dressed in robes.
  • Go-Karting with Bowser: He and his son Jazan competed in one year's Games Master Challenge, Heroes vs. Villains. There the two of them were depicted as at least semi-friendly rivals.
  • Informed Species: He's a kyrii or at least looks like one, but the only really noticeable kyrii-like trait is his fiery mane. His skull is also very different from a kyrii's, making it very hard to tell.
  • Killed Off for Real: By Jazan.
  • Knight of Cerebus: One of the darkest Neopets villains on account of being a living corpse that's constantly on fire.
  • No Ontological Inertia: His death lifts the curse in Jazan and his city.
  • Playing with Fire: Quite obvious with the fact that his whole skeletal body is aflame.
  • Sorcerous Overlord: He used to rule Qasala and was responsible for the curse in the first place.
  • The Undead
