King Skarl
Voiced by: Fred Tatasciore (Neopets: The Darkest Faerie)
- Adipose Rex
- Fat Bastard: Well, he did start a war with Darigan for their resources, and he is fat as all Skeiths are fat.
- Book Dumb: Although he's not The Philosopher King like his brother Hagan, his Neopedia entry notes that he rules Meridell with "his own special brand of wisdom" and that he's "slightly smarter than he looks."
- Big Eater: He eats a lot on his lunch breaks.
- The Cynic: It takes a lot of work to cheer him up.
- Disk-One Final Boss: For all the players siding with Darigan. He had the stats to live up to it.
- Grumpy Old Man: He's elderly, male, and grumpy.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He started the Darigan War, and is very grumpy, but is a fair king and didn't mean to start the war.
Illusen
Voiced by: Jennifer Hale (Neopets: The Darkest Faerie)

- Nature Hero: Is a heroine as well as liking nature.
- Sweet Tooth: Implied—some of the rewards from her quests include Illusens Cream Cookie, Flower Cake, and Rose Shake.
- Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Defied. During 2023's Faerie Festival, she is ordered by Queen Fyora to work with Jhudora to put the festival together. However, the two are unable to come to any form of agreement and instead decide to hold their own separate festivals far apart from one another.
- Trademark Favorite Food: Cream cookies.

- The Leader: of her group of heroes.
- Took a Level in Badass
The Yellow Knight
A Chia who is the brother of Meridell's famous Green knight. A failed attempt to defeat the forces of Darrigan Citadel led to his imprisonment, where he spends most of his time playing Cellblock with Master Vex.- Ineffectual Loner: Tried to take on Darigan Citadel all by himself. It led to him getting thrown in the dungeons.
- Play-Along Prisoner: Despite being allowed to escape by Master Vex when Darigan was corrupted, he seemed to return back to his cell after the war, and can still be found playing Cellblock in the dungeon.
- Took a Level in Badass: Despite having been imprisoned before the battle began, the Yellow Knight played a key role in rallying Darigan Citadel to fight against the Three-corrupted Darigan.
Lord Darigan
Lord of Darigan Citadel.- Anti-Villain: The major Reveal of Champions of Meridell is that, despite the Citadel's Obviously Evil motifs, Lord Darigan is a good king who is desperate to save his people from the curse that resulted from the Orb being stolen from them. In fact, the Citadel was pacifistic before the Meridell troops arrived. He only fully becomes evil under The Three's influence, and even then he later pulls a Heel–Face Turn.
- Batman in My Basement: After being badly wounded in the first war, he was found by a Meridellian farmer's young daughter, who kept him in the barn, fed him and named him "Mr. Scary".

- Disney Death: In the first war he fell to his apparent death, but was found and nursed to health by a child.
- Demonic Possession: He was possessed by The Three.
- Hates Small Talk: If you visit his chambers just to say hi, he will shoo you out.
- Heel–Face Turn: He is described as "once evil".
- Informed Species: He is probably a Korbat or Korbat-like creature, but you have to squint a little to see it due to his mutations. It's more clear in artwork depicting the Citadel's glory days.
- Lord Country: Lord Darigan of the Darigan Citadel.
General Galgarroth
A Grrarl, and Lord Darigan's right-hand man.- Anti-Villain: Much like his boss, if Galgarroth is up to no good, it's because he thinks it's for the good of his people.
- The Dragon: Serves as Lord Darigan's.
- Go-Karting with Bowser: When he's not busy with helping out Lord Darigan, he can be challenged as an opponent in Cell Block (even though he questions why the inmates are spending their time playing games).
- Spell My Name With An S: Both Galgarroth and Galgarrath are acceptable spellings of his name.
- Undying Loyalty: Very loyal to Lord Darigan, which has put him at odds with Kass and led to his brief imprisonment when Kass took over. The only time he's ever opposed his master was to rescue him from The Three's influence.
Sally
A young Usul who found and took care of Lord Darigan after he was wounded.- Children Are Innocent: She has no idea that the bat-thing she's taking care of, who she named "Mr. Scary", is actually Darigan himself.
- Farmer's Daughter: She lives on a Meridell farm with her parents.
Master Vex
A Mynci who serves as the prison warden at Darigan Citadel. A bit eccentric, he's also the creator of a game known as Cell Block, which he plays with his inmates and guards.- The Ace: When it comes to Cell Block, he's a master who has a reputation for never having lost a game.
- Anti-Hero: While he's described as an evil genius, he's also got an entry in the gallery of heroes for his work in opposing Kass and The Three.
- Awesomeness by Analysis: Has particularly good Badass Boast on his trading card that shows that this is why he's a master of Cell Block
"I have calculated every possible board state after the next seventeen moves and none of them results in you winning the game. Sorry."
- Beard of Evil: Rocks the classic villain goatee.
- Bunny-Ears Lawyer: While he designed Cell Block as a way to alleviate his boredom as a warden, there's nothing that suggests he's particularly incompetent at the job.
- Evil Genius: Described as less-than a less-than moral fellow.
- Even Evil Has Standards: Despite being described as an evil genius, he made an active effort to resist Lord Kass's takeover of the citadel, and allowed the Yellow Knight to warn Meridell when Darigan was posessed by The Three.
- Maniac Monkeys: A Mynci with a reputation as an evil genius.
- Final Boss: Serves as the last opponent faced in Cell Block.
- Win Your Freedom: Part of how he coerces the inmates into playing Cell Block with him.
Lord Kass
- Big Bad: Of the second war with Meridell.
- Blackmail: One of the many methods he used to get others to work for him.
- Dragged Off to Hell: In the end, it appears the Three do something like this to him.
- Dragon Ascendant: He was originally one of Darigan's generals, then took over the Citadel at the end of the first Meridell war.
