Clara Chatham
A Wocky girl who works as the assistant to the Wise Gnorbu at the Lunar Temple in Shenkuu. She is originally from Brightvale, but moved to Shenkuu with her family. She teamed up with Roxton on the mission to save Neopia.
- Action Girl:"I'm not afraid of a little danger."
- Belligerent Sexual Tension: With Roxton.
- Damsel in Distress: Lampshaded when she says "I'm not just some helpless damsel you know."
- Hot Librarian: A bookish and beautiful woman.
- Jumped at the Call: She was eager to join Roxton and Jordie on their mission.
- Plucky Girl: She's determined to prove to Roxton that she is just as good of an adventurer as he is, if not better.
Jordie
The enthusiastic young sidekick of Roxton.- All Asians Wear Conical Straw Hats: He wears one, and by his overall outfit it can easily be gathered that he hails from Shenkuu (the Neopian equivalent of ancient China). This would also make sense considering the origin of the character he's based on.
- Badass Adorable: He's a cute little Kougra, but tough enough to accompany Roxton on his adventures.
- Expy: Of Short Round from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
- Kid Sidekick: He is one to Roxton.
Mayor of Moltara

Igneot
The Wise Gnorbu
The Faeries' Ruin
Hanso
- Badass Longcoat: He wears one.
- Batman Gambit: His false betrayal to Xandra. He even drags his conflict with Brynn into it as a fake motivator.
- Belligerent Sexual Tension: With Brynn.
- The Charmer: He is easily able to sweet-talk others, especially Brynn.
- Comically Missing the Point: His first reaction to seeing the petrified faeries is disappointment because he can't steal their jewelry, which has also been turned to stone."This is terrible... this necklace is solid stone. What a shame."
- Fake Defector: He pretends to join Xandra.
- It's All About Me: He tends to be very egotistical, often bragging about what a great thief he is.
- Lovable Rogue: He is this to a T.
- Sticky Fingers: As a thief, he definitely has these.
- Taken for Granite: As a Heroic Sacrifice to stop Xandra. He gets better.
- Terrible Artist: His stick-figure drawings.
- Unreliable Narrator: As it turns out, he is the one telling the story, and it's strongly implied that he's not doing so entirely accurately.
- You're Insane!: He says this to the Big Bad.
Brynn
- Anger Born of Worry: She calls Hanso a jerk after he pretends to be getting hurt by an artifact.
- Anguished Declaration of Love: But she doesn't get to finish it.
- Belligerent Sexual Tension: With Hanso.
- Face Palm: She does this in the first comic of The Faerie's Ruin.
- Fiery Redhead: Stubborn, strong, and has red hair to match.
- Smooch of Victory: She gives Hanso one on the cheek in Chapter 17 of The Faerie's Ruin.
Xandra
- Beneath the Mask: Xandra in the "Faeries' Ruin" plot initially appears helpful, nerdy, and innocent with anger issues. She even wears glasses to heighten the effect (pictured here◊). However, she is revealed to be a Well-Intentioned Extremist with a completely "Machiavellian" and egomaniacal personality. She even makes Faerieland crash!◊
- Driven to Villainy: She tried to convince the faeries to get more involved with Neopia, but when that failed, she took more drastic measures.
- Fatal Flaw: Her short temper leads to her flying into such a rage over Hanso's insults that she doesn't realize his plan to store her magic and use it against her.
- The Glasses Come Off: She loses hers when things go bad and she reveals herself as the villain. Lampshaded by Hanso when he's taunting her, saying she might be able to aim better if she put them back on. And then again when they're offered as a prize, where the item description says that Xandra and the villain can't be the same person because one wears glasses and the other doesn't.
- Hoist by His Own Petard:Hanso: You know, it's ironic. Xandra was undone by the same artifact that started it all.
- Hypocrite: She goes on and on about how the faeries are "winged tyrants", yet she acts more like a tyrant than she claims the faeries are.
- Killer Rabbit: She hates all Faeries with a passion and her evil plan culminates in crashing Faerieland to the ground. She's also a Xweetok, a cute, fluffy pet that looks vaguely like a chipmunk.
- A Pupil of Mine Until He Turned to Evil: Queen Fyora's most promising pupil until she became a Well-Intentioned Extremist, with emphasis on extreme.
- Taken for Granite: Her most current state.
- Unflinching Walk: After Xandra fells Faerieland, (in one of the most iconic scenes of said plot) she stands before Hanso and Brynn triumphantly and seemingly uninterested in the massive, fiery crash behind her. Somewhat negated by not actually walking during said explosion.
- Villain Has a Point: After all is said and done, Fyora concedes that Xandra was right that the Faeries don't do enough to help Neopia, and pledges to correct that.
- Villain Killer: While it wasn't known to have been her at the time, one of the first things she did was kill Hubrid Nox — a largely Harmless Villain. It was the first sign that this plot was going to be a more dire one.
- Villainous Breakdown: Xandra had almost accomplished everything she set out to do. However, she begins to lose control after Hanso steals her artefact (for the second time).
- Visionary Villain: She believes the Faeries don't do enough good with their power and thinks everyone else is worse off for depending on them.
- We Can Rule Together: She says this almost word for word.
- Well-Intentioned Extremist: Surprisingly, she actually has some valid points.
The Spooky Food Eating Contest Plot
Corbin
An Ogrin who, along with his brother, tracked down the monster who menaced the Spooky Food Eating Contest. They are second generation monster hunters, with their father having been one before them.- Expy: Of Sam from Supernatural.
- Hunter of Monsters: He and his brother are professionals who arrive on the scene of the Spooky Food Eating Contest in Neovia after a monster disrupts it. They set out to capture it.
Kell
A Wocky who, along with his brother, tracked down the monster who menaced the Spooky Food Eating Contest. They are second generation monster hunters, with their father having been one before them.- Expy: Of Dean from Supernatural.
- Hunter of Monsters: He and his brother are professionals who arrive on the scene of the Spooky Food Eating Contest in Neovia after a monster disrupts it. They set out to capture it.
Tippens
This Chomby gentleman is president of the Spooky Shindig Society, who organised the Spooky Food Eating Contest among other parties.- Nonmammalian Hair: While he is a Chomby (a creature comparable to a dinosaur), he has hair not only on his head, but also thick eyebrows and a moustache.
- Quintessential British Gentleman: Very much so, being from Neovia.
The Monster
A blue horned satyr-like creature who disguised himself as a contestant in Neovia's Spooky Food Eating Contest. Pretending to be a Yurble named Scarlet, he managed to win the competition, but afterward drank a potion that revealed his true form. Corbin and Kell chased him into catacombs located beneath the town, and they were able to catch and subdue him. Afterward it was revealed he was a child monster, and was safely returned to his parents at their home in the mountains.- Cute Monster: As it turns out, he's just a little kid monster who wandered away from home and not a real threat.
- Shapeshifting: He has the ability to do this, disguising himself as Scarlet the Yurble. It's unknown as to whether or not this was an impersonation of an actual Neopet or an identity he made up entirely.
The Wraith Resurgence
Kaia
A Faerie from Shenkuu who moved to Faerieland because of bullying, she possesses the power to see misfortune before it happens. Kaia is eager to prove herself and has lofty dreams. The Darkest Faerie pretended to be her in order to deceive everyone into believing Kaia was behind everything.- The Ingenue: Younger than most of her kind, good-natured, and eager to please.
- Psychic Powers: She has visions of future danger and thus can warn others before anything bad happens.
- Teacher's Pet: Kaia is favoured by Queen Fyora, who gives her lessons outside of the Faerieland Academy.
Malum (Reizo)
Found hiding in the Wild Woods, this Lupe is thought to be behind the reappearance of the Wraiths, though he insists he is innocent. It is revealed that he is Reizo, Kaia's friend who followed her to Faerieland, only to be cursed by the Darkest Faerie.- Badass Cape: He wears one that is dark purple.
- Dark Is Not Evil: He is in reality Kaia's friend Reizo who was transformed by the Darkest Faerie into the frightening creature he is now.
- Forced Transformation: He was transformed by the Darkest Faerie to look like a villain.
- Glowing Gem: The brooch he wears.
- Good All Along: He is Kaia's friend, Reizo.
- The Scapegoat: He is one, framed by the Darkest Faerie for the reappearance of the Wraiths.
Lyra and the Lost Heirloom
Lyra Xendrik
The rebellious daughter of the Warden of the Lost Desert.- Action Girl: She stole her family's heirloom scimitar, and isn't afraid to use it.
- Ancestral Weapon: Blaze, the scimitar which has been in the Xendrik family for generations.
- Blue Blood: She comes from an aristocratic Lost Desert family.
- Fiery Redhead: She's got a temper to match her red hair.
- Rebellious Princess: Technically not a princess (though she is the daughter of an aristocrat), but otherwise she fits. She turns her back on her family and runs off to avoid their plans for her.
- The Runaway: She runs away from her family as she refuses to be a pawn in her father's grand designs. Deconstructed, as this takes her away from the political side of the plot. The biggest thing she contributes to that afterwards is by losing the titular Lost Heirloom to Aurrick's betrayal, who turns it over to someone better able to solve the wider conflict.
- Significant Green-Eyed Redhead: She is the title character of Lyra and the Lost Heirloom and has red hair and green eyes.
- Spanner in the Works: Her running away does interfere with her father's plans.
- Sweet and Sour Grapes: She finds the adventuring life harder than she expected, and loses her heirloom scimitar to someone she thought was a friend. On the other hand, she does prove she doesn't need Blaze to fight, gets a final confrontation with her father to break ties with him fully, and makes it away unbroken to greener pastures. Legends and Letters implies that she's doing well as a more seasoned adventurer, though her relationship with Aurrick is understandably strained.
- Well, Excuse Me, Princess!: Her attitude toward Aurrick."Go back to stealing apples or whatever it is you shabby thieves do."
Aurrick
A thief whom Lyra befriends while running away from home. 20 Minutes into the Future, he was the effective main character of the mobile game Legends And Letters.- Deadpan Snarker: He is always making sarcastic remarks to Lyra.
- Lovable Rogue: He is a thief who is very charming, like many previous protagonists. Deconstructed, as he ends up choosing to steal the titular heirloom as he was hired to and breaks his comradery with Lyra despite genuinely opening up to her - though this is likely for the best as far as the wider world is concerned.
- Poorly Disguised Pilot: The way Lyra and the Lost Heirloom introduced and used him made it clear it was setting him up for another role in the future.
Aymas Xendrik
Head of the aristocratic Xendrik family and Warden of the Lost Desert. He is the father of Lyra.- Abusive Parent: It's implied that he is one to Lyra, as she shows contempt for him and is running away to avoid being a "pawn in [his] grand designs".
- Aristocrats Are Evil: Nabile is wary that he might be partly responsible for the coup in Sakhmet, as the situation sprung up quickly enough that she doesn't know who can be trusted. Because Xendrik quickly becomes preoccupied hunting down his daughter Lyra, we see no evidence of this one way or another - It is a General Aharoon who takes advantage of the situation to become a tyrant lording over Sakhmet. Xendric is ultimately arrested and tried as a collaborator, but again... the audience saw none of the evidence that his villainy extended beyond mistreating his family.
- Blue Blood: He is head of an upper-class Lost Desert family.
- Insane Troll Logic: The citizens of Sakhmet are protesting that Quesala is too influential on their country, and have convinced the royal guard to rebel and keep the royal family under house arrest. The plan Xendrik puts forward to defuse the situation: send his daughter Lyra to study under Qasalan generals. This does not address any part of the problem, nor would it help him in any way if he had engineered the revolution for his own ends. However, he is the only person who has any suggestion at this point.
- Sanity Slippage: By the time he and his allies find Lyra, he's angry or desperate enough to simply attack her.
- The Patriarch: Of the Xendrik family.
The Void Within
Nyx
An Aisha astronaut with a pink Faellie by her side. She seems to be working for the Virtupets Space Station.- A Boy and His X: Played for Drama. The Advent Calendar 2023 comics from December 26 to 29 features both her and her Faellie trapped in deep space, only for them to be hunted down by a strange octopus creature that is willing to hurt them both. This unfortunately goes down from there. The Faellie ends up getting distracted by the antennae of that creature, which causes the creature to capture it, only for Nyx to come back and save her Faellie, and hide in somewhere safe. When she collapses after the effects of the void infect her left arm, the Faellie builds a stabilizer, and puts it on her arm, only for it to faint shortly after, leaving Nyx on her own.
- Big Damn Heroes: When her Faellie got captured by the octopus-like creature, she jumps in to attack the creature and save her Faellie, at the cost of infecting her arm.
- Please, Don't Leave Me: After her Faellie faints upon making the stabilizer, Nyx became upset, and asked herself why it left her all alone.
