The emperor of Regulus and the father of Lucia.

  • Blood Knight: He's stated to have been quite the tyrant and a great warrior in his young age, but mellowed out with age. His vigor temporarily returned during the final battle with the Mutant Phrase, when he gleefully fought alongside his men thanks to the Mochizuki Touya app.
  • The Coup: He and his family nearly became the victims of one of these. It was staged by military personnel who grew displeased by Zephyrus' desire to engage in peace talks with their neighboring countries.
  • Delicate and Sickly: His health was on a decline prior to the beginning of the story, and he's fully bedridden by the time he's introduced. Thankfully Touya's healing magic was able to bring back his vigor.
  • Heel–Face Turn: He was said to be particularly ruthless in his youth, but as he got older he began to question if he wanted that to be his legacy. This change unfortunately placed a target on his back.
  • Master of All: He briefly gains all of Touya's powers during the final battle against the Mutant Phrase through the use of a magic app that had been distributed to everyone's smartphones.

The Crown Prince of Regulus, soon set to assume the throne.

  • Forgettable Character: Touya has a hard time remembering that he exists. It's taken to the extreme when Touya forgets that he even invited Lux over for a special gathering and expresses confusion at why he was there.
  • The Generic Guy: Even his own sister can't think of any distinguishing features he has.
  • King Incognito: He attempted to escape the palace during the coup by disguising himself as a knight. Unfortunately, the knights were among the people being targeted by the military.
  • Royal Harem: He has multiple concubines, but required a special medicine requested by his father, from Touya, to get one of them pregnant.

     Gaspar
A high-ranking member of Regulus' knight order.
  • Eyepatch of Power: One of his eyes was injured in the past, and as such we wears one of these to conceal it.
  • Playing with Fire: He wields an enchanted lance that can shoot fire from the tip. He won it during a game of Bingo at Brunhild's Founding Party.

A former general in Regulus' military who staged a violent coup to usurp control.

  • Ambition Is Evil: While he originally wanted what was best for his country, he became corrupted by the prospect of ruling his own empire.
  • Arc Villain: The Big Bad of the Regulus Empire arc.
  • Evil Smells Bad: Well, he didn't stink normally, but he certainly did after Touya trapped him in an airtight box with the corpse of a Sludge Slime. The odor was said to be several times worse than Surströmming.
  • General Ripper: Aside from being a traitorous general of the Regulus army, Bazoar is fond of murdering the Zephyrus and his family and any other members of the army to take the empire by force.
  • Nigh-Invulnerable: During the coup, he utilized several artifacts and spells that prevented him from being harmed.
    • The Blockbracer was an enchanted arm band that gave the wearer complete immunity to physical attacks.
    • The Drainbracer was another arm band that drained the magic from anyone the wearer designated as an enemy.
    • Finally, he summoned a demon lord, whose Magic Immunity skill also applied to the summoner. He was able to keep it manifested with the magic siphoned by the aforementioned Drainbracer.
  • Patriotic Fervor: The Emperor admits that he feels pity for Bazoar, as he knew the general when he was a young man, and knew that he wanted what was best for Regulus. Somewhere along the way, that unwavering patriotism gave way to sinister ambition.
  • Public Execution: His fate after being defeated by Touya.
  • Ruling Family Massacre: Part of his coup but foiled by Touya.
  • Sinister Schnoz: While it's not particularly large, Touya describes it as being hooked like the beak of a hawk.
  • Slowly Slipping Into Evil: His patriotic obsession pushed him into villainy, leading him to the traitor that he is in the present.
  • Summon Magic: By sacrificing many of the city's criminals, he was able to form a pact with a powerful demon lord, and planned to use it and its subordinate demons to conquer the neighboring countries.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Ordered his men to kill Princess Lucia who was only twelve at the time.

  • Famous Ancestor: Her family line is descended from one of the Twelve Blades of the Empire. They were the soldiers who helped the first emperor found the country.

  • Ma'am Shock: She dramatically clutches at her chest whenever Renee refers to her as "Aunt Caroline".
  • Old Maid: She's in her late twenties and is not yet married. This is a fact that greatly worries her mother.

     Mary Rillettes
The matriarch of the Rillettes family and Renee's grandmother.
  • Famous Ancestor: Her family line is descended from one of the Twelve Blades of the Empire. They were the soldiers who helped the first emperor found the country.
  • My Beloved Smother: Downplayed. She gives Carol plenty of space, but doesn't hesitate to nag her daughter about how she's still single.
  • Long-Lost Relative: Her eldest daughter was Renee's mother. She's happy, yet mildly shocked to suddenly find herself with such a big grandchild.
  • Socialite: She's initially put off by the Okonomiyaki Renee prepares for her, as she mistakenly thinks the writhing fish flakes are worms of some kind.

     Lop, Fran, Eon, and Klaus
A group of rookie adventurers from Pyton Village in Regulus who journeyed to Brunhild to visit the Dungeon Islands.
  • Disc-One Nuke: Touya provides them with some secret high-tier equipment to celebrate their rank up from Black to Purple. He makes them promise to give them back to him if they upgrade to better equipment later down the line in order to keep the gear from falling into the wrong hands.
  • Five-Man Band: They are a spear wielder, a sword fighter, a mage, and an archer, respectively. They become a proper band when Touya summons a Snow Mouse for them who is able to sense danger and sniff out treasure.
  • Made a Slave: They were very nearly captured by a group of slavers who had been picking rookies off of the islands in secret. Touya's timely arrival saved them from a terrible fate.
