     King Cloud Zeph Lihnea

Voiced by: Shun'ichi Toki (Japanese), Justin Briner (English)

The young king of Lihnea.

  • Ain't Too Proud to Beg: The moment he meets Touya, he goes hand-and-knees to beg him to rescue his mother Erya.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: He managed a brave face throughout, but his life before succeeding his father wasn't a great one. He was subjected to near-daily beatings from his older brother, frequently called worthless, often treated as a mere errand-boy, and wasn't even allowed to live in the castle.
  • The Dog Bites Back: After accepting the throne from his father, he got some much-desired revenge on Zabune. First punching him in the nose and then selling him off into slavery.
  • Long-Haired Pretty Boy: He's a pretty-looking prince (later king) with long hair tied back into a low ponytail.
  • Master of All: He briefly gains all of Touya's powers during the final battle against the Mutant Phrase through the use of a magic app that had been distributed to everyone's smartphones.
  • Must Make Amends: One of the first things he did as king was take steps to improving Lihnea's relations with the Kingdom of Palouf. The two kingdoms had a rocky history, and Wardack had been planning to declare war on them.
  • Rags to Royalty: Wardack did everything in his power to keep Cloud from having any influence in the royal family, going so far as to force the boy to live in a dilapidated shack away from the castle.
  • Royal Bastard: His mother was the adopted daughter of a merchant family, and Cloud was often mocked for his "commoner blood".
  • Sacrificial Lamb: Very nearly became one of these, courtesy of Wardack. He would send Cloud to Palouf carrying the declaration of war in the hopes that they kill him in retaliation. Wardack would then use Cloud's death to garner public support for the war.
  • The Unfavorite: He was this when Wardack was in charge. Zabune received all the love and attention that Cloud had been deprived of his entire life.
  • Young and in Charge: A young man and the current King of Lihnea.

     Prime Minister Coupe

Voiced by: Susumu Akagi (Japanese)

A former Marquis and the current prime minister of Lihnea.

  • The Good Chancellor: His loyalty to Cloud continued into his promotion to Prime Minister.
  • The Mole: He feigned loyalty to Wardack while secretly supporting Cloud from the shadows. He arranged for one of his personal maids to be assigned as chambermaid to Cloud's mother, who was imprisoned in a fortress, in order to protect her from Wardack's men.

     Schlaf Zeph Lihnea

Voiced by: Mitsuru Miyamoto (Japanese)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/schlaf_zeph_lihnea.png

The former king of Lihnea and Cloud's father.

  • Abdicate the Throne: Despite the fact that he wasn't all that old, he abdicated to Cloud out of shame for being unable to protect him and his mother from Wardack's cruelty for so long.
  • Awful Wedded Life: He was married to Dacia for around thirty years, but hated every minute of it and had an affair with Erya.
  • Blackmail: Wardack managed to keep him in check by imprisoning his beloved Erya.
  • Happily Married: He marries Erya after retiring and spends his days doting on her to make up for lost time.
  • Remarried to the Mistress: He had an affair with Erya, resulting in Cloud's birth. After it's revealed his wife Dacia cheated on him with Wardack and Zabune is their bastard son, he ends his marriage with Dacia and marries Erya.
  • Unwitting Pawn: He was manipulated by Wardack and Dacia for decades, as they made him think Zabune was his firstborn son when he's really their son.

     Erya Zes Lihnea

Voiced by: Namiko Morimoto (Japanese), Diane Meo (English)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/erya_zes_lihnea.png

King Schlaf's lover and mother of Cloud.

  • Girl in the Tower: Wardack kept her locked away in the tallest tower of a military fortress.
  • Happily Married: She gets married to Schlaf after he gives the throne to Cloud and they're very happy together.
  • Hostage Situation: Wardack held her prisoner so that he could keep the king and second prince under his thumb.
  • The Mistress: She's Schlaf's mistress. After Dacia's affair with Wardack is exposed, she becomes Schlaf's new wife.
  • Motherly Side Plait: She's Cloud's mother and wears her hair in a loose ponytail over her left shoulder.
  • Rags to Royalty: She was born to commoner parents who abandoned her, but was eventually adopted by a loving family of merchants. She then became the King's lover and eventually his wife.

     Wardack

Voiced by: Masafumi Kimura (Japanese)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/wardack_isekai_smartphone.png

The former prime minister of Lihnea who sought to usurp control from the royal family. He's the cousin of the former Queen Dacia.

  • Evil Makes You Ugly: He's described as having the face of a bulldog.
  • Faking Another Person's Illness: He silenced all of Cloud's requests to see Erya by claiming she had a contagious disease.
  • Fat Bastard: The loose robes he wears don't hide how overweight he is.
  • Hate Sink: He has absolutely no redeeming qualities to speak of.
  • Kissing Cousins: He and his cousin Dacia are the biological parents of Zabune.
  • Lack of Empathy: After one of Zabune's slaves goes missing (read: rescued by Touya), he tells Zabune to trigger her Submission Collar's kill command before promising to get him a new "toy" after they clean up the mess.
  • Made a Slave: Cloud has him, Dacia, and Zabune outfitted with Submission Collars and sold to a slave merchant from Sandora so that they may know a sliver of the pain they inflicted on others.
  • The Usurper: He and Dacia concocted a decades-long plot to seize control of the kingdom by tricking the king into thinking that their son was his, and thus had claim to the throne.

     Dacia

Voiced by: Kyo Yaoya (Japanese), Corey Pettit (English)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dacia_isekai_smartphone.png

The former queen of Lihnea and cousin of Wardack.

     Zabune

Voiced by: Jun Fukushima (Japanese), Dallas Reid (English)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zabune_isekai_smartphone.png

The former first prince of Lihnea.

  • '90s Hair: He sports a bowl-cut.
  • Animal Motifs: Touya compares Zabune to a cuckoo bird hatchling. Cuckoo birds are brood parasites that lay their eggs in the nests of other birds, tricking the other birds into raising their young. Young cuckoos will often harm or kill the other hatchlings in the nest in competition for food.
  • Bastard Bastard: The reveal that he isn't a legitimate heir to Lihnea's throne causes his downfall, and he is a huge Jerkass to say the least.
  • Big Brother Bully: He physically and emotionally abused his adoptive younger brother Cloud for most of his life.
  • Dirty Coward: Once the plot is exposed, he tries to throw his parents under the bus, claiming that they were the ones who planned everything and he had nothing to do with it.
  • Evil Is Hammy: He loves hearing himself talk, and makes his sentences much longer and more verbose than they need to be.
  • Hate Sink: You'd be hard-pressed to find someone in this series worse than him. He physically and emotionally abused his stepbrother for his entire life, was a massive pedophile, had an entire dungeon full of slaves, captured and raped any woman who caught his eye, and occasionally would force their husbands or parents to watch as he raped them.
  • Impossibly Tacky Clothes: A brightly-colored scarf and golden boots are among his wardrobe.
  • Inbred and Evil: His parents are cousins, and he's just about as evil as you can get.
  • Irony: The one time he doesn't berate Cloud for something is when he asks him if he saw his most recent slave (said slave having just been rescued by Touya using Gate, with her collar removed using Apport). Zabune accepts Cloud's negative response without question, having no idea that Cloud has just lied and knows exactly what became of the poor girl.
  • Made a Slave: Cloud has him, Wardack, and Dacia outfitted with Submission Collars and sold to a slave merchant from Sandora so that they may know a sliver of the pain they inflicted on others.
  • Old Man Marrying a Child: He's well into his thirties and sought a marriage with Sue, who was eleven at the time.
  • Pædo Hunt: He's well-known among the world's nobility to be a huge pedophile.
  • Rape Is a Special Kind of Evil: A notorious serial rapist, and implied to get off from injuring his victims during the act.
  • Royal Bastard: He isn't King Schlaf's legitimate son, but Queen Dacia's bastard son by Wardack.
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Money!: Despite slavery being strictly outlawed in Lihnea, he made frequent use of Submission Collars and kept an entire dungeon filled with slaves.
  • Sore Loser: In the Light Novel, he earns Touya's anger by threatening his nation and his fiancés after his parents' coup is revealed. Touya shot him in each of his limbs with real bullets for the trouble.
  • Wrong Genre Savvy: When he hears that Touya's been engaged to Sushie, he thinks he can discredit Touya by exploiting Tristwin's kindness, spreading a rumor that Touya is a vicious womanizer from an upstart kingdom that came out of nowhere. He has no idea that not only does Tristwin know Touya personally, he's the one who offered Touya the land to found Brunhilde in the first place.
