YMMV / The Book Was Better

Go To

  • Aluminum Christmas Trees: In Part 1 of his Empress Theresa review, one of the characters mentions an advertisement where a character buys a dog door for a small horse, and KrimsonRogue initially dismisses it as fictional. A number of fans in the comments told him otherwise, however, and in Part 2, he corrects himself, realizing that the commercial in question was a real Amazon Prime commercial that the novel horribly misrepresented. The point of it was to tell watchers that Amazon has weird products that they can send out fast, not that they were selling dog doors for horses.
  • Bizarro Episode: His review of the film adaption of Safe Haven by (his most hated writer) Nicholas Sparks becomes progressively more and more positive as a result of his mind being influenced by the lantern rings of compassion and love.
  • Heartwarming Moments: In the Ready Player Two video, he reveals that he had a college roommate on the Autism spectrum who not only helped him understand the condition, but also helped him develop his passion for literature.
  • Periphery Demographic: Though his main series and focus was always comparing films to the books they were based on, ever since he reviewed Onision's books, he's gained an audience of Onision detractors, as well as people who watch his videos of reviewing terrible books that he started doing shortly thereafter in between TBWB episodes. Those book reviews really helped him grow his channel, as he was one of the first few to actually review Onision's books after Strange Aeons before the market got flooded with people trying to cash in on it.
