Trivia / The Book Was Better

  • Deleted Scene: His "Supplemental Notes" videos sometimes note jokes he had to cut from reviews proper, either due to how the jokes may come off as mean-spirited, forced, or just wouldn't fit otherwise. For instance, he was going to make a joke about The Dom Reviews in his 50 Shades of Grey review because it was obvious and obligatory and then would have text come up on the screen saying "Footage used without permission, come at me bro!", but it would've seemed too mean. Considering how The Dom later reviewed all 3 films and books in his own series and expressed how much he hated them for many of the same reasons Krimson does, it might've come off more as Harsher in Hindsight if it were left in. The Dom also lampshaded the joke himself for the first book and movie review by having his character, Terrence, ask him about his name and The Dom being oblivious to why he's asking him about it, which is probably based on his own interaction with Doug Walker when he was tied to Channel Awesome that happened in a similar manner when Doug pointed out the irony in his username.
  • Dueling Shows: His show and The Dom's Lost in Adaptation series are both based on the exact same premise; comparing books to film adaptations of them. However, The Dom's seems to be more popular, possibly due to a bump in subscribers due to being part of Channel Awesome for several years. Also, Rogue's series is formatted in a more traditional style common for video reviews, where he goes through the films from start to end rather than having several categories where he lists things that fall under them like The Dom.
  • Follow the Leader:
    • The show's format and style are heavily influenced by Atop the Fourth Wall and the earlier days of The Spoony Experiment, which is frequently lampshaded. His review structure in general is also his take on the format popularized by Doug Walker/The Nostalgia Critic, as were the 2 previously mentioned shows'.
    • He reviewed the first book written by controversial YouTuber Onision, Stones to Abbigale after Strange Aeons had reviewed the book herself a few months before. Lampshaded in that he plugged her channel part way through his review and said he's at least fair to those he rips off. He then reviewed Onision's second book, This is Why I Hate You, a few weeks later and has reviewed Reaper's Creek.
  • Screwed by the Lawyers: Unfortunately, multiple of his reviews have been blocked or taken down by the various film studios for copyright and he has yet to re-edit and re-upload them. It's why the "Recap" page on this wiki for the series is missing some of the episode names, as he still had the videos either privatized, or deleted due to this reason and the people editing the page don't know which ones they were due to adding the names too late.
