• Alternate Character Interpretation: Did Satan really disintegrate Chuckles for being too dangerous, or is it because of Chuckles's plan crushing the Professor's spirit?
• Genius Bonus: In one episode, Satan tries to attract God's wrath by saying "you only picked the Jews as your chosen people because you knew the Welsh didn't want you!" Listeners familiar with Jewish tradition will note that this is very similar to a story told in one of the midrashism, which states that the Jews were actually the people God least wanted to receive the Torah, but every other nation found its rules too burdensome.
• Ho Yay: Scumspawn to Satan, emotionally.
  Scumspawn: All the other demons serve you out of fear and terror, but I've served you and sacrificed myself to your will because I love you.
  Satan: I beg your pardon?
  Scumspawn: I love you. I don't fancy you — no, that would be physical and weird and probably quite dangerous. No, I love you in the widest possible emotional sense.
  • There are hints that it might not, in fact, be entirely one-sided. "Scumspawn looks good in that studded collar, doesn't he?" comes to mind. At one point they even end up looking after a baby together, with Satan complaining that it's like being married, "only without the silences."
  • Note that the few times Thomas shows his soft side it is mostly (if not always) doing something nice for Scumspawn.
  • Gary seems ever so jealous about the amount of time Satan spends with the Prof. Satan, in turn, is oddly protective of his favourite mortal, outraged at Thomas strangling him and stopping Nero from crucifying him. It's almost as if he cares...
• Paranoia Fuel: Satan's description of 'brain lice', which burrow into the human brain and eat memories, and which are hushed up by the medical establishment. The way to kill them is to hold a mobile phone to your head; the radiation cooks them.
• Tearjerker: Satan trying to crush the Professor's spirit by convincing him his wife has already moved on and is having sex with the only man he ever hated. Even Satan regrets doing it afterward, and Thomas nearly (nearly) apologises to him about it.
