  • Breather Boss: Red Photon. Compared to all the other villains, his mech is a Cores-and-Turrets Boss that is very easy to destroy.
  • Suspiciously Similar Song: The theme for Moon Tomb sounds a lot like a sped up version of World Bowser from Super Mario 3D World.
  • Tainted by the Preview:
    • While the initial reveal was almost universally praised, the presence of Energy in soft-launch builds quickly raised some concerns. As an example, see "Quick Review" in this news post written few days after the official announcement by Mobile Gaming Hub, where the writer says they played the game for half an hour and uninstalled it for simply featuring this mechanic and having few IAPs related to it. The fact that a previous Barry Steakfries game, Monster Dash, removed this system altogether less than a year prior didn't help.
    • When the game was announced to become an Apple Arcade exclusive after almost half a year of silence on its future, most of the franchise's user base felt alienated. While this exclusivity means that ads, microtransactions and Energy are all gone, the game is now locked behind Apple's subscription service, and will not be releasing on Android despite Bullet Rush soft-launch being available on both platforms, not unlike what happened to Lego Star Wars Battles a year prior. The backlash was significant enough for Halfbrick's CEO, Shaniel Deo, to confirm at PAX Aus 2023 that they will never make another exclusivity deal like this again, while assuring that they will release Jetpack Joyride 2 on Android when the contract with Apple expires in 2025.
  • That One Sidequest: Spicy Party was this in the Open Beta. You can only use Spicy Explosion (a weapon that fires at slight angle and takes some time between shots) and must not let Guardbots reach the taco ingredients for 2 minutes. This mode was way too luck-based, and the number of enemies thrown at you could become overwhelming at times. Of the notable enemies are the slimes from Minertaur's stages. In the regular game, they are easy to deal with, but with finicky Spicy Explosion, their fast speed, and the fact that you can't let any of them get to the other side of the screen more than three times, they become Demonic Spiders. Not to mention, some of the robots can pass through the ingredients and instantly kill Barry. Fortunately, the mode was made easier and more manageable in the Apple Arcade release.
