  • Arc Fatigue: The last 3 chapters take up just about half of the comic as a whole. Maybe it wouldn't feel that long to a latecomer, but imagine the poor souls who kept up with the comic as it updated.
  • Archive Panic: 10 chapters and an Epilogue doesn't sound like that much... until you realize the entire archive is 1700 pages long.
  • Growing the Beard: While by no means unenjoyable, the first few chapters had their fair share of writing and pacing problems, weird moments of comic relief that overlap with Mood Whiplash and an overall amateurish feel, but there is much improvement by Chapter 4 and the comic seems to have reached its maturity by Chapters 5 and 6.
  • Nightmare Fuel:
    • When Riley attempts to transform into beast form, it ends in Body Horror.
    • Lucinda... deciding to take her vengeance.
    • Snow almost convincing Credenza the entire story never happened and she's still a child in his Torture Cellar. As one comment said, "The way Snow's talking makes it seem like this could be happening in our world." Doubles as a Tear Jerker.
  • Harsher in Hindsight:
    • Blitz's dream in the beginning of book 8, after we learn what it was about.
    • When Blitz runs off in tears after seeing Mikel and Deliza's newborn baby (and not of the happy variety) it seems off even for him, then the moment is quickly overshadowed by Credenza passing out. But then we find out that Blitz, back when he was Anthony, had a wife who died giving birth. And then it's just... heartbreaking.
    • When Blitz asks Dragonfly if he could repair his mind, he responds that it is too broken for him to fix, and that "I don't think you would thank me for it, even if I could". Much later, we find out just why.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight
    • A meek-ish boy who gets possessed by a spirit to help him fight in battle? Are we talking about Blitz or Ryotarou?
    • Kur is a werebeast. What type of werebeast? He's a were-hyna!
