Fridge Brilliance

  • In book seven, almost everyone gets put to sleep by Kor's sleep powder. Anansi says that it's enough to make a manticore sleep for two hours, but then Blitz pops up, fully awake. It's later learned that he's a dragon, so the sleep powder must have a much shorter effect on him.
  • When Charlie the Jabberwocky is introduced, he seems to take a dislike to Tuff and Riley, hissing at them and later stealing from them. Since he's actually a Were-Whale, it would make sense that he's a bit prejudiced against sharkmen.
    • He also shows lots of fluffy, slobbery, jabberwocky affection to Credenza. Since he's really an old friend of hers.
  • Tuff's weak head makes sense when you realise his greatest fear is losing control and hurting people. Riley, who's completely fine with what he is, has no qualms against getting drunk, but Tuff, the overthinker paralysed with moral fear, was probably also afraid to get drunk, so he always avoided drinking and never built the tolerance Riley has.

Fridge Horror

  • So why, exactly, did Olivia and Little Twin Fish think the form of artificial arm is the right one for the key to Sealed Evil in a Can? Or is it actually a shapeshifting device that can be whatever is needed?
