Sechrist is openly talks about Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts with fans on Twitter, Discord, and Reddit.

  • The reason characters never comment on Kipo's skin tone is that no one noticed it was unusual. Both in-universe and on the show's crew.
"You know honestly we thought the pink hue was subtle enough you wouldn’t notice, but maybe that was a mistake?"
  • While their ages are never stated in the series, Benson is 16 and Wolf is 10.
  • While the exact details of the Unspecified Apocalypse that resulted in the show's setting are unknown, the events themselves began around October 23rd, 2020, placing the show's events in the 23rd century.
  • In addition to being an artificially-created Mute, Hugo was cloned from preserved mandrill tissue from a library of pre-mutation genetic material from when humanity first went underground.
  • The show finished production before Season 1 premiered.
  • Sechrist confirmed that both Lio Oak and Song Oak are clones of their parents. He stated this was to provide a bigger population of people in their home burrow.
  • Sechrist has ideas for more Kipo stories once he's completed a current film project, such as a movie about a teenage Wolf encountering her old wolf father raising a new pack.
    • He’s even discussed a spin-off story revolving on the origins of Yumyan Hammerpaw and an adventure with Benson and Troy looking for a rare Oz the Originator mixtape.
  • Fun Gus took the form of Liam, forcing Emilia to confront her past every day.
  • Sechrist confirmed the elephant mutes briefly seen in "Ratland" and other random episodes are a part of the Fanny Pachyderms.
