What An Idiot / Dark Simpsons

Go To

Much like its source material, Dark Simpsons has some characters doing some stupid decisions and paying the consequences for it, often with deadly results. Some of their actions are actually dumber compared to the original!

  • In "Homer Simpson Is the Prankster Prince", Homer gets banned for life from Moe's over a prank regarding spilled sugar. During a family dinner, Marge tells Homer to consider going to Moe's to talk it out.
You'd Expect: Homer to actually do so.
Instead: Homer opts to pull another prank on Moe, being a phone call.
Result: An on-edge Moe immediately recognizes Homer's voice and subsequently intends to carve his name on Homer's back with an ice pick, a threat Moe actually follows up on.
Homer: (screams) "Oh, no, not the good cheek!"
  • In "The Man in the Treehouse of Horror", during the time Bart was paranoid over the return of Michael Jackson, Homer announces in the morning that his family is going to go to the miniature golf and enjoy some frosty chocolate milkshakes.
You'd Expect: Homer to take Bart with the family, after all, he was there when Marge was trying to calm him about it earlier and knew about it.
Instead: Homer forces Bart to stay home and tape the hockey game.
Result: Unsurprisingly, Michael Jackson takes this opportunity where Bart is completely alone and rapes Bart like usual.
Michael Jackson: "The kid is not my son... he he he"
  • In "Groundskeeper Willie Makes an Enemy for Life", with Superintendent Chalmers making a suprise inspection at the Elementary School, Groundskeeper Willie finishes raking the pile of leaves, before celebrating by having "a wee nip and a wee nap".
You'd Expect: Willie to have the 'wee nap' after the little drink.
Instead: For some unknown reason, Willie decides to ride the tractor as he sings, and he happens to plough it right into Superintendent Chalmers' rear.
Result: With a potential promotion as Assistant Superintendent off the table, Skinner understandably fires Willie without any pension. Willie responds the following day by shooting Skinner in the 'willie'.
  • In "Kirk Sleeps in a Racing Car, Do You?", Bart is thrown out of the Van Houten house and Milhouse is forced to abandon his friendship over Bart telling Kirk that he does sleep in a racing car bed. With the help of Lisa, Bart responds by planting a bra on the Van Houten's bed.
You'd Expect: Luann to realize that the bra belongs to Marge Simpson, which she did in Milhouse of Sand and Fog.
Instead: Luann immediately jumps to conclusions by placing all of Kirk's items into a box and wanting a fresh start. Being Dark Simpsons, Kirk almost immediately shoots Luann to death.
Kirk: "I don't think Maude Flanders would approve of that!"
  • In "Bart Gets Saxed", Bart catches a ball, which carries the message 'Springfield Kozy Kort Motel, Room 26, How About It?', and he learns it was from Steve Sax.
You'd Expect: Bart to not follow through on the invitation.
Instead: He does, and got more than he bargained for.
Fortunately: Bart eventually tells his parents about what happened, which leads to Homer calling the Police, who promptly put Steve Sax behind bars.
  • In "The Simpsons Go to Mount Splashmore", Bart sneaks out of the house at night to get there, and rides the H2WHOA. Unfortunately, he ends up landing badly into the water and yells for help.
You'd Expect: The lifeguard to come in and save Bart's life.
Instead: He's too preoccupied on his phone call with Abbey and begins talking about a shift change.
Result: Bart typically dies, and the Simpson family celebrate.
  • In "Homer Lives Out the American Dream", Mr. Burns fires Homer for sleeping on the job. Homer responds by throwing himself out.
You'd Expect: Mr. Burns to leave it then and there.
Instead: He tells Mr. Smithers to destroy him, with two hired goons punching Homer out.
Result: After seeing Mr. Burns on television, Homer drives to the Nuclear Power Plant and throws Mr. Burns off the balcony, killing him.
  • In "Marge Tells Everyone How Lenny Lives", she learns just that, and Lenny begs Marge not to tell anyone.
You'd Expect: Marge to heed Lenny's plea.
Instead: She ends up telling her sister Patty, who relays to the two biggest gossipers in Aaronson and Zukowski, who end up telling everyone in an hour.
Result: With his bar friends spurring him on, Lenny responds by breaking the Hydroelectric Dam, flooding the city.
  • In "Krusty to the Rescue", Bart tasks Krusty to save Milhouse from Stampy, with saying the safety word "Magumbo".
You'd Expect: Krusty to get it right once the elephant stunt begins.
Instead: Krusty fails to remember the safety word in time, which results in Stampy crushing Milhouse after three failed guesses, as the crowd watches in horror.
  • In "Marge Simpson's Fear of Flying", when Bart takes off his seat belt, one of the flight attendants offers Bart a view of the cockpit to hopefully quell his interest.
You'd Expect: For Bart to avoid touching anything sensitive, or hell, have the flight attendants avoid having him get too close to touch the plane controls.
Instead: He touches the red button on the cockpit.
End Result: Everything that can be described after Bart presses the button is the plot of Dead Bart, except it ends with everyone cannibalizing for their survival, most notably Homer eating his own children, much to Marge's depression.
  • "Homer Mows The Lawn": One of Bart's skates get stuck under the lawnmower while Homer is doing Exactly What It Says on the Tin, so he calls Bart to help him get it out.
You'd Expect: Homer to turn off or unplug the lawnmower to avoid the dire repercussions that could ensue.
Instead: He neglects to do so, and Bart's arm is promptly ripped off, forcing Marge to drive him straight to the hospital. Homer doesn't help matters by refusing to pay Dr. Hibbert's Shockingly Expensive Bill.
As A Result: Bart is forced to undergo an amputation surgery. Not that it stops him from making light of the situation the next day during a school field trip.
  • "Ned Rents Out His Spare Room" has him ridiculed by the community after the students that rented out his room filmed and uploaded some questionable content. Fed up, he lashes out against them, one of them being Chief Wiggums, who orders the rest of the police to shoot him. Ned then pleads to Maude to unlock the door immediately.
You'd Expect: For Maude to realize the danger her husband is in, and unlock the door and maybe take some bullets for him in the process.
Instead: She refuses to unlock it.
As A Result:' Ned Flanders gets turned into tomato paste.
