Manga Angel Neko Oka features these tropes:

  • Age-Gap Romance: Kawasaki, a high schooler fell in love with the 30-year old Eiji. He resisted dating her and told her that they couldn't pursue the relationship until she finishes high school. When she graduated she and Eiji began dating.
  • Aloof Big Brother: Aoi thinks her step-brother is an aloof nerd but when he saves her from being blackmailed by her boyfriend, she began to admire him especially when he revealed that he used to be an ex-commando.
  • Bad Boss:
    • Akira is an employee of a coffee shop and is also passionate about coffee, however, his manager dislikes him for not being able to go to high school (strictly out of poverty and nothing else) and also forces him to do extra works while taking all the credits for what he did. Akira is eventually fired by his manager because of "staff reduction," in reality he was trying to find a way to get rid of him while also admitting female students into working in his coffee shop, this causes Akira to open his own coffee shop. The manager's coffee shop eventually starts falling because nobody else but Akira could brew the coffee there, he also forced the part-timers to do his works the same way he did to Akira, causing him to be fired when the higher-ups find out about his antics.
    • Akira's superior at his workplace is extremely self-centered, he often takes credit from other people's success and also blames them when he does some mistakes. He also transferred Akira to a failing branch out of spite because he was complaining about an unreasonable order.
  • Beautiful All Along:
    • Akira is often ridiculed for his plain appearance, though that all changed when he was trying to buy new clothes after entering high school, he was then scouted by a woman to be a model. After getting a make-up, Akira turns out to be an attractive man and is now a successful model.
    • Shizuka thinks she's ugly due to the abuse she was getting from her mother and older sister. She was eventually persuaded into getting a make-up by Akira, revealing her to be a beautiful woman.
  • Bridal Carry: Saito carries Akane this way to the hospital when she felt sick.
  • Crossover: This channel collaborated with Grim Reaper Flag-chan! to create a crossover episode with the channel's popular series I'm getting married to the girl I hate in school.
  • Face of a Thug: Akira has a face that usually intimidates people leading to none of the women in his workplace dating him. He uses it to his advantage when he saved Aoi from a stalker. He became her bodyguard soon after.
  • The Farmer and the Viper: Kuroko told Akira she had a debt to pay and in order to marry Akira, who sells his restaurant to help her. However, it turns out to be an act; she betrayed him with a guy named Kuzuki once done paying and took over his restaurant.
  • Gold Digger: Kuroko tricked Akira into selling his restaurant so she can take it over along with Kuzuki. However, when Akira was taken in to work at his rival Aoi's restaurant and it became popular, she betrays Kuzuki and tries to get back with Akira. However, he isn't having any of Kuroko's lies and makes an agreement with Kuzuki to expose her crimes before Aoi calls the cops on her.
  • Japanese Delinquents:
    • Kengo used to be a delinquent until he fell in love with honor student Kurumi. He gave up his delinquent ways and studied hard to get in the same high school as her.
    • Akira was a delinquent before he reincarnated as Eiji. As Eiji, Akira later uses his ability from his past life to fight the bullies who bullied Eiji.
  • Living Lie Detector: Eiji can detect other people's lies, when he was younger, he was avoided by many people when they find out about his ability, since then he haven't told anyone about it.

This eventually bites them in the ass after Aoi told the Kibishin about her abusive family, causing them to cut all of their connections with her father's company.
