:) :D =) =D

This is Ironcommando. I create M.U.G.E.N characters and AI patches, C# games, and am currently working in a job after graduating from university. Otherwise, I'm just a 33-year old Chinese Singaporean.

BTW, my name isn't derived from the Beat 'em Up Iron Commando. Long story short, I was making a Metal Slug-esque Adobe Flash game named Metal Commando, but that name was too obvious, so I changed "Metal" into "Iron". Hence Ironcommando.

Posts in RP forums, Forum Games, and occasionally Writer's Block and World Building.

    Tropes that pertain to me
  • Afraid of Blood: Yep, I used to have this. Funnily enough I don't mind seeing blood in videogames (I'm somewhat desensitized), but in real life...
  • Afraid of Needles: Partially. I don't mind getting an injection, but when it comes to blood-drawing... *yikes!*
  • All Asians Know Martial Arts: I know some Aikido and Wushu.
  • All of the Other Reindeer: General reaction of others towards me during Secondary School and Junior College.
  • Asian and Nerdy: A Singaporean game programmer who sits in front of the computer all day.
  • Asian Drivers: Averted, I passed my driver's license test on the first try.
  • Asian Speekee Engrish: Completely inverted, I speak English well, and in fact am rather poor at my native Chinese language.
  • Asperger's Syndrome: Thankfully, it's quite mild. Unfortunately I get shunned often because of it.
  • Author Appeal: Cyberspace, Energy Beings, Sentient Vehicles, Kung Fu Proof Mooks, and especially Magic Versus Science and The Magic Versus Technology War.
    • I also tend to associate magic with females and technology with males, thus most magic users in my work are female and most tech users are male.
    • Also fond of overkill, as those who know me from MUGEN can attest.
  • Bad Powers, Good People: Sort of. My specialty in game design/programming is creating unique, smart Mooks and epic Bosses. But I'm a nice guy.
  • Berserk Button:
    • Sprite-swapping my M.U.G.E.N characters is a surefire way to incur my wrath. SECOND-HAND SMOKE seriously agitates me to no end.
    • Please do not take advantage of me or my kindness. I've been used as a tool by others so many times in my life, and this act on me is a friendship-breaker if I find out.
    • Surprisingly enough, insulting my flash games or OCs isn't this, particularly because I learned from MUGEN that not everybody is going to like my stuff.
    • Secondhand cigarette smoke. Just smelling a bit of it causes me to get very dark internal thoughts towards the offending smoker.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: I'm a really nice guy, unless somebody happens to push my to the limit.
  • Big Eater: I don't usually eat much for regular meals, but when it comes to parties/buffets, that becomes a different story.
  • Black-and-White Insanity: A common problem of mine. I tend to think in extremes with no middle ground in-between.
  • Cloud Cuckoo Lander: The Flash game mentioned below? I pretty much daydreamed about it for the past 6 years.
  • Covert Pervert: It may not seem at first glance, but I can find or make dirty jokes and innuendos out of innocent-sounding sentences.
  • Creator Thumbprint: Almost all my works (including my never-finished flash games) have homing missiles of some sort. Also, enemies with punny names. In terms of M.U.G.E.N characters, almost all of them have an unblockable One-Hit Kill move — although it's heavily restricted to cheap AI settings or palettes for my newer characters.
  • Digital Piracy Is Evil: I'm one who hates getting his OC's stolen.
  • Eating Lunch Alone: This is my usual way of eating, considering that my brother doesn't care much and I don't have RL friends. The only time I avert this is when I'm eating out with my parents.
  • Friend to All Children: I have a very soft spot for kids, not just because they're cute and have squishy cheeks, but also because I can relate to them.
  • Forgiven, but Not Forgotten: My main mindset to those who wrong me. I can forgive them for the most part, but I can't forget what they did to me.
  • Humans Are Bastards: My view on humanity in general (other than children and a few exceptions). Including myself.
  • I Hate Being Popular: In MUGEN. My (used to be) balanced character Dancing Banana attracted the wrong crowd- the whiny scrub kids who love to spriteswap other characters. This became one of the reasons why Dancing Banana is a rather hated character now.
  • I Hate Past Me: Depends on which "past" me. If it's the Small Name, Big Ego Shameless Self-Promoter Attention Whore me, or the humanity-hating past me, then yes.
  • I Just Want to Have Friends: Very much so. I'm usually left out, especially when the class is divided into groups for group projects. And this has happened since Secondary School onwards.
  • Just Here for Megaman X and Zero: Pretty much the only reason why I see videos and stuff about Project X Zone.
  • Loners Are Freaks: What many people think of me in real life. I do have lots of troper friends, but hardly any RL friends.
  • Myers Briggs: INTJ/ISTJ. I know I'm firmly I, T, and J, but I tend to fluctuate between N and S.
  • Nice Guy: I always tend to be a nice person towards everybody else.
  • Ninja Editor: Oh yes. You'll be seeing edits on many of my posts.
  • Not Afraid to Die: Part of me has resigned itself to death, accepts it and sometimes looks forward to it thanks to having a pretty bad real life, but I'm not going so far as to seek methods of dying.
  • Older Than They Look: Quite a number of people used to mistake me as a kid when I was 20-22. Now, not so much. I'm still mistaken for being 5-6 years younger, though XD
  • Pungeon Master: My games have enemies with very punny names. Examples are: Squadrone, Mortarbike, Shockroach, Boombardier, Atmospear, Silent Knight & Holy Knight, Axe Ray, Carzooka, Survey Lance, Vigil Lance, etc...
  • Revenge: I am a rather vindictive person despite my nice exterior. Bad things tend to happen whenever one crosses me- you have been warned.
  • Sensitive Guy and Manly Man: Me and my brother are kinda like this.
  • Serial Tweaker: Edits pages a lot.
  • Ship Sinking: Quite a few Tropers tended to ship The Hail Stormer with me... until I torpedoed it by distancing myself from him as a friend. (We're still friends, just distant ones)
  • Simple Staff: The weapon I used in Wushu club during College.
  • Straight Edge: I don't smoke or take drugs. If I drink, that's because I'm forced to (and it's wine or champagne, not beer/whiskey/shandy/brandy/vodka/etc).
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Sandwich: I do this if a restaurant takes too long to get me my food. I cancel the order and leave just as it is cooked. Mainly done to make the restaurant feel bad over its bad service.
  • Trademark Favourite Food: Cheese.
  • Unluckily Lucky: Bad coincidences beyond my control tend to happen to me. And it's happened many times. However, said bad coincidences usually turn out to be a blessing in disguise- once, a course instructor for a course I so longed to attend had to postpone the course due to his father falling ill- on the day I was supposed to go for the course, Black Mage Anolis joined Skype. I would've missed him if the course was on.
  • Used to Be More Social: I was an extrovert before I got into Secondary School. Then certain events made me change... while also changing my views on life and humanity.
  • Verbal Tic: Placing a =D or :D somewhere while messaging to others. =D
  • Walking Shirtless Scene: I tend not to wear a shirt at home. Singapore has a very hot climate, so it's somewhat justified.
  • Your Days Are Numbered: Still quite a ways to go, but if predictions are true, I have a good chance of suffering a stroke at 37-42 years of age. Ah well. Might as well live life to the fullest. =)

Tropes that I once played straight, but now subvert

    Tropes that I have experienced
  • Big Little Brother: I have a brother who is over 10 years younger than me. He's far taller than me, despite this.
  • Broken Pedestal: A Downplayed trope with The Hail Stormer. I used to respect his friendliness and fame amongst the community over here and on Deviantart, but once I realized that his decisions did not make me happy... I never saw him in the same light anymore.
  • Cluster F-Bomb: Used by my brother on me.
  • Cuteness Proximity: Downplayed, place a baby/young kid near me and I'll have to control my urge to squish its chubby cheeks.
  • Circle of Shame/The Freelance Shame Squad: While this has never happened to me, it's one of my worst fears. There's a reason why I Just Want to Have Friends...
  • Conscription: Being drafted into the Singapore Armed Forces is mandatory for all male Singaporeans of age, folks.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper / Bunny-Ears Lawyer: My dad. Oh So Much. If he sees me do anything that seems a bit out of common sense, he flies into a rage...
  • Humble Pie: This is what made me stop being a Small Name, Big Ego Attention Whore in MUGEN and started my attitude readjustment. Long story short, I checked out multiple MUGEN community forums, and nearly everybody there hated me for my unfair vanity characters.
  • Loners Are Freaks: One of the reasons why I got ostracised in secondary school and junior college.
  • Mundane Made Awesome: Well, I went to an ocean aquarium before for a field trip and spent the night there... IN A SHARK TUNNEL!!!
  • Rail Enthusiast: Two of my friends from my Secondary School (and Junior College)- they know almost everything about the Singapore MRT, and have a "train doors closing" ringtone for their handphones!
  • Rescued from the Scrappy Heap: Not me, but two others: Daniel9999999GMC and Cyberlizard from the M.U.G.E.N community.
    • Then: sub-par MUGEN creators (especially Cyberlizard, who went so low as to spriteswap). Their characters were pretty broken, annoying, and hated by many people. Cyberlizard even went to make an even more broken version of Cyber Yoshi, which cause many people to hate him even more.
    • Now? Their characters are actually pretty decent. Daniel's new MUGEN persona is less broken than Dancing Banana and plays pretty well, and Daniel himself knows a lot about making balanced characters. Cyberlizard creates his characters from the ground up, and they are a lot less overpowered than his older ones. I respect them both for changing their ways for the better.
  • Samus Is a Girl: When I found out the true genders of two of my troper friends. I was surprised, to say the least.
  • Scrub: One of the reasons why I dislike the MUGEN community, because of the douchebags who spriteswap, do annoying stuff, and worst of all, they absolutely love my MUGEN characters. Because of this, my chars tend to get bashed by many of the MUGEN community.
  • "Stop Having Fun" Guy: My brother is like this when it comes to certain games. I've also had my fair share of borderline ones in MUGEN- thanks to my characters being loved by Scrubs, the SHFGs bash my chars and consider them broken.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: I'm one for the MUGEN "Ubercheap" war. Long story short, A-Bomb had a code that allowed it to kill the most overpowered characters of its time. People then modified A-Bomb's code in their own characters to beat A-Bomb, which soon led to creators one-upping each other with characters like AngleDrawSphere, Chuck Norris, Oni-Miko-Zero, Crazy Catastrophe, etc to see who was the most overpowered, bringing the "nuclear war" into light.
    • The thing is that while 2nd Death Star (which came before A-Bomb) was the first to have the code, it was not publicly released, while A-Bomb was.
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: Often said to me due to my rather low confidence and self-esteem. They're right to varying extents.

    Tropes that I like
  • Cyberspace: My current game series is based off this.
  • Homing Projectile: Almost every game I make features one.
  • Killer Robot: In fact, this was my nickname in Secondary school.
  • Kung Fu-Proof Mook: I love making these in my games. Teaches the player that knowing the enemy is important, and to let them develop strategies to counter them.
  • Robot War: Metaspace was originally going to be this, until I realized how similar it would have been to Mega Man X.
  • Magical Females, Technological Males: There's a part of me that finds it sweetly ironic to have a little girl nuke a heavily armed mecha. Plus, magic users in fiction have a tendency to be female, while most tech-users tend to be male.
  • Magic Versus Science/The Magic Versus Technology War: I love the conflict between magic and sufficiently advanced technology.
  • Sentient Vehicle: For some reason, I love mixing together sentient vehicles with RPG character classes. And get stuff like Car Mages, literal Fighter Planes, Ninja trucks, etc... Can be seen in some of Metaspace's antagonists, like Warblade (Warrior Helicopter) and Alpharios (Samurai Jetplane).
  • Smoking Is Not Cool: Smoking is basically spending money to shorten your lifepsan. It's not worth it, and especially not when people get harmed by secondhand smoke.

    Tropes that I dislike
  • Canon Defilement: This is one reason why I don't write Fanfics. I don't know the exact personalities of most fictional characters, and want to avoid writing something against canon.
  • Cutscene Power to the Max: If they can do that in a cutscene, they had better be able to do that outside of one.
  • Smoking Is Cool: In real life. I feel that buying cigarettes to smoke is akin to spending money to kill oneself.

     Stuff that I love
  • Most of the stuff under Pages created

Video Games

  • Einhänder: Seriously awesome Playstation game. I've got lots of my ideas from here.
  • Mega Man series:
    • Mega Man (Classic): Played Mega Man 2. Did Metal Man's stage. The music got me hooked on the series.
    • Mega Man X: Special mention goes to X3, the first Megaman franchise game I've played, X4, for being one of the most awesome ones out there, X1, for starting the awesomeness, and X5, just as awesome as X4 minus the horrible boss names.
    • Mega Man Zero: Despite being tough, this follow-up series is awesome nonetheless, with freaking Zero as the main character!
    • Mega Man ZX: Follow-up to an awesome series, still as great as ever. Thank god they got rid of the Gameplay Grading of Zero.
    • Mega Man Legends: At first I didn't care much about this series. Then I played it and the sequel, and I loved it. Then I heard that Capcom cancelled MML 3, and I never forgave Capcom ever again.
    • Mega Man Battle Network: A pretty unique RPG game series, in terms of battle format. You know it's good when I actually tried (and failed) to make a flash version of it before.
  • Pokémon: Played all of them from RBY to X/Y, loved all of them.
  • Sonic the Hedgehog: I've only played 3 games in the franchise, but they were all great!
    • Sonic The Hedgehog: Fast-paced action, which I love!
    • Sonic the Hedgehog 2: They introduced the Spindash, upgrading a good game into an even more awesome one!
    • Sonic 3 & Knuckles: First Sonic game I've played, on the PC via a CD. I'd say it's my favourite Sonic game, with three playable characters (and tag-team optional), elemental shields, and whatnot. Didn't get past Sandopolis- those ghosts creeped me out when I was a kid, that I exit the game at Act II!
  • Thunder Force series: Awesome series, contains my favourite videogame weapon of all time- the Free Range.
  • Tyrian: One of the first non-edutainment games I've played. It's a blast, to be honest. Still waiting for the sequel to come.
  • Universal Paperclips: Fun Idle Game with interesting premise based on the Paperclip Maximizer thought experiment.

Upcoming Trope Sections for MUGEN characters

The Warden

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/warden_2.png
A blind but incredibly powerful mob from Minecraft. Playing as it might be an interesting experience.
  • Blind Mistake: It's possible for the Warden to accidentally hit their own ally if they're not careful with sensing the sounds from the battlefield.
  • Blocking Stops All Damage: While insanely strong, many of its attacks will not deal any damage if blocked, similar to how shields stopped almost all damage in Minecraft. This is important for fighting it, as it can kill most characters in 2-3 hits.
  • Boss Battle: Essentially a boss character with extremely high damage dealt if unblocked.
  • Can't See a Damn Thing: If player-controlled, the screen gets blacked out to prevent the player from seeing anything other than the Warden itself and any visual/olfactory cues.
  • Charged Attack: It can use its sonic boom after a charge period, which resets should it successfully hit an opponent with a melee attack.
  • Friend or Foe?: The Warden is blind and locates things by sound and smell. This includes both ally and enemy, and it's unable to distinguish which unit on the field is its partner in a 2v2 fight. As such its attacks can accidentally hit its own ally if not careful.
  • Ground Punch: One of its Limit Breaks, which causes vibrations for a few seconds that will reveal all opponents' and allies' positions.
  • Interface Screw: When the player is controlling it, they won't be able to see their opponent or their ally, as everything will be in the dark except the Warden themselves. Instead, they rely on "sensing" the opponent's position from the sound and scent signatures they give off.
  • Mechanically Unusual Fighter: When playing as the Warden, you are essentially blind and have to figure out your partner's and your enemies' positions via sound echoes or olfactory cues. When the Warden is AI-controlled, it will attempt to move to the latest sound signature and attack that spot. Unusually enough, its hypers will not deal any damage — rather, they are all temporary utility that allows the Warden to detect or find enemies better.
  • Mighty Glacier: Hits extremely hard but moves at a so-so pace. This speed however increases as it manages to pinpoint an opponent, turning it into a Lightning Bruiser.
  • Necessary Drawback:
    • When you play as the Warden, you're incredibly strong and durable. You also essentially play as a blind character who has to use sonar sensing and scent detection to see its opponents, and can also hit their ally if they're not careful.
    • Entering the rage mode makes the Warden a lot faster, but it's activated by a Roar Before Beating during which it's stationary and a sitting duck for attacks.
  • The Nose Knows: Opponents and allies that are very near it will be detected via a "scent" effect signature.
  • One-Hit Kill: The Warden's grab attack will pick up an opponent and tear them in half if it connects. However, not only is it incredibly easy to avoid (as the opponent literally needs to be overlapping the Warden's sprite for it to hit), it's also a very predictable move.
  • Pragmatic Adaptation:
    • The Warden's hearing and scent radius are drastically decreased in MUGEN, since the playing field is a lot smaller than in Minecraft and it would be unfair for it to be able to detect opponents anywhere.
    • A true-to-Minecraft Sculk Catalyst would not function well in a Fighting Game due to only activating when something dies, and in MUGEN this usually means the round is over by then. As such, the Sculk Catalyst will also activate to a much smaller extent whenever a non-Warden takes damage.
  • Sheathe Your Sword: If the opponent doesn't make any detectable signatures for a period of time, it will retreat into the ground and disappear. This counts as KOing it.
  • Turns Red: When it pinpoints an opponent (usually from said opponent making too much noise), it goes into an angered state that makes it faster, allowing it to track down opponents much more efficiently..
  • Unblockable Attack: The sonic boom attack cannot be blocked at all and is nearly unavoidable, but it deals lower damage than most of its other moves.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: It hits extremely hard, but is unable to combo its opponents, and is blind to boot.
  • Utility Weapon: Three of its Limit Breaks place down a block that will aid it in finding opponents.
    • The Sculk Sensor will detect opponents that get close to it, helping to extend the Warden's detection radius. If a Sculk Catalyst is on the field, it will also pinpoint the enemy's location.
    • The Sculk Catalyst will grant extra super meter when any unit except the Warden takes damage, as long as it's on the field. If an ally or opponent is KO'd, it gives a huge amount of super meter.
    • The Sculk Shrieker is a trap block that will briefly stun an opponent who steps near it, while also revealing their position.

You want my blood? Fuck off.

Rosie (Rose Waters)

"They are the virus, I am the cure."
-shoots a zombie in the head, killing it-
"There, fucker's cured."
A lady living in the middle of the zombie apocalypse. She enjoys her life there, since killing zombies is very fun for her. Very sought after by many people due to her blood that's pretty much a Panacea. Also, extremely foulmouthed and can be very rude.
  • AB Negative: Her Blood type is O-, which really helps her at being a universal donor.
  • Action Girl: A lady who fights zombies on a daily basis.
  • All Work vs. All Play: All Play, as the fun-loving, order-hating girl compared to the duty-bound Brett who is All Work.
  • Armed Legs: Wears a pair of spiked boots, which she uses to stomp and spear enemies with. Also helps with climbing walls. When combined with Murderous Thighs, it results in Slashed Throat thanks to the spikes cutting her target's throat apart (not like Slashed Throat matters much to zombies).
  • Big Eater: Pretty much required for a person who has a Healing Factor, thanks to it being Cast from Calories.
  • Bi The Way: She's interested in both men and women, and makes periodic sexual/romantic jabs towards the other companions if she opens up to them. She can also hook up with any of them. Also a bit of a Shout-Out to an actual rose flower, which is bisexual.
  • Bizarre Human Biology: Her bone marrow produces an unknown cell which is what causes her panacea-like blood.
  • Blessed with Suck:
    • "Do you have any idea how fucking hard it is to skip classes when you can't even get sick?"
    • Whenever she gots into a fight at school (often), she was always blamed as the offender and the other guy got away with it, since her injuries disappeared and her victim/bully's didn't.
    • She's unable to experience the pleasure of getting drunk or any form of uplifting drugs since alcohol and drugs are immediately nullified via her immunity to toxic substances.
    • If somebody performs an operation on her, she'll be fully awake and conscious since she's immune to anesthetic and tranquilizers.
  • Blood Knight: Finds fights and battles very exciting. In fact it's one of her reasons for staying back in the zombie-infested city- so she can keep kicking their asses over and over again!
  • Bloody Murder: Once she learns how to gain control of her immune system, she can cause her blood to treat any organism other than Rosie as a parasite, causing it to eat away the enemy (and duplicate themselves from their nutrients). This means that yes, she can cut herself to let her blood fly onto the enemy to cause them to be eaten by her boosted immune system (think Species 8472 cells and you've got the idea).
  • Boobs Of Steel: Has a pretty large bosom and is a good physical fighter.
  • Book Dumb: Isn't very good at most academics apart from a bit of English and some biology thanks to wanting to learn more about her blood. According to her, she played truant often and skipped school. However, what she lacks in academics she makes up for it in street smarts and survival skills.
  • But Not Too Foreign: She's the daughter of a White (British ancestry) father and Chinese mother (She gets her boobs from her father's side, of course).
  • Cast from Calories: Her regeneration ability requires biomass to replace any flesh that has been displaced from her, and it also costs a good bit of calorie intake. As such, she tends to eat a lot, and depriving her of food will weaken her panacea blood.
  • Character Development: Gets a good amount of it throughout the story. Among them are learning the importance of rules and orders, becoming less impulsive and reckless, and most importantly, becoming less self-centered and seeing the needs of others. By the end of the story she's pretty much ok with giving her freedom up to science to save the world.
  • Charles Atlas Superpower: Subverted. She can punch hard enough to smash people's heads, run while carrying a good amount of weight, and perform strenuous tasks with ease. This is all due to fast body regeneration and high pain tolerance. In all 3 examples, she tears a good amount of muscle in the process, while in the first example she actually breaks her bones in her arm/hand while doing so. Good Thing You Can Heal...
  • Crowbar Combatant: Not her most preferred weapon, but if she wants to break open nonfunctional ATM or drink vending machines, she brings a crowbar with her, and any zombies in the way will get it to their faces.
  • Cutting the Knot: Being fed up of getting chased around by corporations, Rosie tries to cure the zombies by herself using her blood darts. Both times she tried it, it does not end well, and after seeing stuff like this happen, she deemed turning them back as a lost cause.
    • The first got quickly torn to pieces by other zombies when transforming back, overriding the regeneration.
    • The second committed suicide, hurting themselves until the regeneration wore off, due to the sheer mental trauma of zombification and unlife as a zombie and is the first hint that they're Technically Living Zombies.
  • Decapitation Required: The fastest method to kill her without letting her regeneration kick in is to slice off her head.
  • 11th-Hour Superpower: Rosie learns how to be able to mentally control of her immune system if she goes to Genecorp HQ near the end of the story. This includes pushing her healing into overdrive by producing stronger and more numerous cells, or even making her cells lethal if injected into organics.
  • Fatal Flaw: Selfishness, Impulsiveness, and Overconfidence. Her self-centeredness and impulsiveness alienate the other members of her group often and get her into trouble respectively, often causing setbacks. Her selfishness, impulsiveness, and overconfidence when confronted by Genecorp led to Genecorp forcefully capturing her, her escape, and Genecorp's attempt to make their own miracle cure... which went horribly wrong and turned into the zombie virus.
  • Flower Motifs: The Rose. She's named Rosie, has an ability that's related to the color red (blood), and is a rather pretty lady surrounded by thorns- both her personality, and the city full of zombies. Also, she's bisexual, just like a rose flower.
  • Freudian Trio: The Id, between the three main characters. A lady who usually acts on emotions and instinct, usually requiring Brett or Conrad to calm her down or restrain her.
  • Harmful Healing: Once she learns how to gain control of her immune system, she can cause her blood to treat any organism other than Rosie as a parasite.
  • Healing Factor: An effect of her blood, it allows her to heal wounds and injuries pretty quickly. It gets stronger depending on the severity of her wounds.
  • Healing Shiv: Carries a dart gun that fires syringes filled with her blood. Those hit with it will gain immunity to disease, poisons, regenerate faster, and get heightened reflexes.
  • Heroic BSoD: When she discovers that the zombies are Technically Living Zombies, she breaks down and does not take the fact that she's been killing living "innocents" well. Her companions have to snap her out of it by telling her that she had been Mercy Killing them and that it was the best she could do.
  • Human Resources: Her panacea blood is very sought after by organizations, and Genecorp at one point captures her to extract some from her to sell as a worldwide product. Thankfully she breaks out before too much of it happens, forcing them to have to make do with whatever they've extracted.
  • The Gunslinger: An expert at ranged weapons thanks to training in the Marines.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Although she's mostly a selfish, violent, foul-mouthed jerk, she does have a softer, friendly and caring side, namely towards friends, allies, and other survivors who aren't trying to obtain her blood.
  • Ideal Illness Immunity: Her panacea blood caused by mysterious cells allow her to kill all diseases, parasites, and unnatural mutations within seconds.
  • The Immune: Thanks to her blood, she's immune to all forms of physical poisons and diseases. Her blood can also be used as a Panacea. Of course, she's hunted down by a science organization that wants to capture and use her, and she's not too fond of that.
  • The Lad-ette: Has a lot of masculine interests such as drinking, sports, sex, swearing, and fighting.
  • Lady Swears-a-Lot: Oh dear lord, she swears in almost every sentence.
  • Make Them Rot: Once Rosie figures out how to control her immune system, she becomes able to make her cells do reverse healing on any organic being that isn't Rosie. If said blood gets into contact with an organic being that isn't Rosie, the result is akin to rotting and degenerating as her cells eat them from the inside out. Even more horrifying is that this effect is resistant to antibiotics and healing.
  • The McCoy: The most emotional yet most social of the three main characters.
  • Meaningful Name: Her actual name is Rose Waters. Roses are red, and water is a liquid, and her ability is based on a red liquid- blood.
  • Mixed Ancestry: She's half Chinese, being the daughter of a British father and a Chinese mother.
  • Multi-Ranged Master: Is able to use various ranged weaponry types thanks to being trained in the army. She doesn't use huge weapons like rocket launchers, gatling guns, or flamethrowers, however.
  • Must Have Caffeine: Inverted- she is unable to get any kick out of caffeine as her blood considers it a poison.
  • Never Gets Drunk: Thanks to her panacea blood considering excess blood alcohol content as a form of toxin, it breaks down the alcohol rapidly, causing her to become unable to get drunk.
  • Panacea: Her blood basically acts as this. It's not too hard to find the panacea... but if one wants to obtain it, they're going to have to fight the Living Macguffin for it.
  • Personality Powers: Inverted to hell and back. Her powers are having panacea for blood that can cure any disease, illness, and provide a powerful healing factor. Her personality on the other hand is brash, rude, violent, and selfish, and one heck of a thrill seeker.
  • Rebel Relaxation: Does the "lean on the wall" very often when relaxing. Sometimes she even sleeps like this.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Subverted, she has brown eyes under those red contacts.
  • Smoking Is Cool: Rosie smokes, not because she's addicted (she can't get addicted due to nicotine being considered a poison and thus flushed out, nor harmed by the poisonous chemicals), but because she finds it rebellious/gangster behaviour.
  • STD Immunity: Justified, and taken even further- anyone who has STDs loses them after having sex with her, thanks to her Panacea blood.
  • Superhuman Transfusion: She can donate her blood to others to give them immunity to disease, poison, and Healing Factor... for a while. It doesn't last forever, and this is a reason why she's very reluctant to become a donor- if the whole world wants her blood every month...
  • Supernaturally Delicious and Nutritious: Not in her world, but in crossover forum RPs, her panacea blood makes her very attractive to bloodsucking beings like vampires. AU versions of Rosie are also very attractive to things that are out to eat her.
  • Super-Reflexes: Downplayed, thanks to living a rather violent life, she's been trained at reflexes, out of training or experience.
  • Taught by Experience: As part of her daredevil attitude, she learns a lot via painful experiences.
  • Thou Shall Not Kill: Averted hard. Whenever she sees Genecorp scientists coming towards her position to capture her... she gives them the same treatment as the zombies.
  • Training from Hell: She's trained in the Marines. Subverted however since she considered her training "meh" thanks to her Healing Factor allowing her to take the strain and tiredness from training.
  • Uninhibited Muscle Power: She tends to exert a lot more muscle strength than normal, as she's confident that her Healing Factor will heal her even if she gets her muscles torn and bones smashed by hitting harder. Indeed, she's overcome that biological block on muscle strength through lots of pain. It helps that her panacea blood repairs internal injuries very quickly.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: As compared to Brett- he has way more training than her and is less reckless in a fight, but she tends to use sheer power more often.
  • Walking Armory: Carries a good number of small and medium guns on her, usually within her coat or on her back. These do put a good bit of weight on her, and she strains herself when doing so. Not like strain is a problem for her.

Brett

A soldier in the military, who works for the stronghold's leader after the world went to heck.
  • The Big Guy: Huge, tough, and a powerful melee combatant.
  • Boring, but Practical: Instead of having healing blood, Organic Technology tumours, or digestive gastrointestinal tentacles, all Brett has is... being able to learn how to use stuff extremely fast. It's extremely useful when it comes to obtaining new weapons, driving things, etc.
  • Chainsaw Good: His primary melee weapon is a chainsaw.
  • Chekhov's Gunman: The huge masked SWAT guy that stops and restrains Rosie in her flashback? That's Brett.
  • Everyone Has Standards: When he realizes that the stronghold leader he was assigned under was wanting to get Rosie back so he could abuse her blood to make super soldiers, he immediately turns on him.
  • Gatling Good: His ranged weapon of choice is a Gatling Gun.
  • Husky Russkie: A musclebound giant of a Russian man, he stands around 2.15 metres tall.
  • Lightning Bruiser: He's pretty fast, durable, and can output a lot of damage, his main weakness is his generally close-range and being a large target.
  • Instant Expert: Downplayed, it takes a very short bit of time for him to learn the functions of an object, but once he knows it, he can use it like an expert.
  • One-Hit-Point Wonder: When he's sent to find Rosie at the start of the game. His armor will protect from most zombie bites, but if he does get bitten or puked on... he'll have to find Rosie fast or else he'll become one of them.

Conrad Schmidt

A scientist working for Genecorp, who detests their inhumane methods.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: Thanks to being a scientist, he learns by observing and using calculations.
  • Backpack Cannon: His backpack has a robotic cannon that can aim and fire energy shots.
  • Berserk Button: Just like many Germans, associating him with Hitler or the Nazis will piss him off very badly.
  • Blessed with Suck: Using his organic ability causes him to use up a lot of his body mass nutrients, making him incredibly ill and weak after that. Worst of all he doesn't regenerate faster (until he receives Rosie's blood, that is).
  • Cast from Hit Points: His tumour abilities require his biomass and hence his HP.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: He's a member of Genecorp, the main enemy faction, and his superpower is basically weaponized tumours. He's also a pretty nice if shy person.
  • Energy Weapons: A good number of the attacks from his backpack are these, doing pretty good damage to metallic foes.
  • Herr Doktor: He's German and a scientist.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: Is able to build machines such as his backpack, his weapons, as well as the Rosie's Swear Blood Bank.
  • Laser Cutter: One of the tools in his backpack.
  • Lovecraftian Superpower: His genetic ability allows him to produce tumours that contain Organic Technology within.
  • Ill Boy: In his earlier life, he was this, since every time he used his powers, he would lose a lot of biomass and become very sick after that. One of the reason why Genecorp captured Rosie then was because Conrad's father needed her blood in the hopes of healing his child.
  • Imagination-Based Superpower: Can create various kinds of Organic Technology within tumours so long as it's within the laws of physics.
  • Nerd Glasses: He wears a pair of them. Later on, they're modified so that the lenses don't do anything to affect his vision (after taking Rosie's blood, his vision becomes perfect), but they do display some neat information.
  • No-Sell: In battle he's immune to backstab-type attacks since his backpack is in the way (and will take damage instead)
  • No Social Skills: Downplayed, since he was brought up in a rather closed and scientific environment, he isn't very confident when it comes to socializing.
  • Organic Technology: His main ability allows him to create these... via forming tumours. The tech is then produced within the tumour, and it's exactly as squicky as it sounds.
  • Required Secondary Powers: As he has an ability to induce a form of cancer within his own cells, he's immune to the negative effects of cancer.
  • The Smart Guy: The intellectual one of the trio.
  • Squishy Wizard: Is the least durable member of the group, but has a lot of firepower from his backpack as well as techs that can supply more firepower.
  • Weak, but Skilled: As compared to Rosie- he's much physically weaker than her. However, his gadgets allow him to perform a variety of defenses/offenses and is much more experienced in analyzing others. (Word of God states that Conrad would win in a 1v1 fair fight against Rosie, as he'd be able to analyze her fighting style, use his backpack shield to hold his own against her bullets, then use a Laser Cutter to decapitate her when she gets close.)

Allison

A female member of the Gang that Rosie was in. As one of the higher ranking enforcers, she keeps well in touch with her gangmates.
  • Action Girl: Has got into lots of fights before, and can hold her own very well against the zombies.
  • Big Eater: Comes with having an enlarged stomach and quick digestion. She can even beat Rosie in a food eating competition!
  • Bizarre Human Biology: Her gastrointestinal tract is missing a small intestine and has an enlarged "stomach" with prehensile "tentastines" inside. Said "tentastines" can produce potent enzyme-filled mucus, caustic acid, and absorb nutrients faster than a normal small intestine, and are connected to her pancreatic gland.
  • Blessed with Suck: Due to being gastrointestinal, her "tentastines" are very easy to infect with GI diseases like Cholera, and as a result she usually doesn't use them too much.
  • Chain Pain: Her melee weapon of choice is a metal chain.
  • Combat Tentacles: Thanks to her Bizarre Human Biology, her small intestines have been partially merged with her stomach and separated from her large intestines, becoming tentacle-like growths. Even weirder still, they can be manipulated via the brain.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Gangster? Check. Horrifying and squicky abilities that include face-melting acid/alkali? Check. One of the good guys if you convince her to change? Check.
  • Damage Over Time: A lot of her abilities cause area of effect Damage Over Time.
  • Deadpan Snarker: The words that come from her mouth are just as caustic as the fluid that comes from it.
  • Gay Option: Yes, she can be romanced by Rosie. It's helps that she's bi too.
  • Hollywood Acid:
    • Subverted with the "mucus" she produces- it is actually alkaline and therefore can burn flesh easily, plus the enzymes inside are extremely strong and eat away at it even further. Also, it's pretty ineffective against most nonorganic things.
    • The acid she produces is basically just much more highly concentrated gastric acid, and thus acts like it would normally do so in real life.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Despite having a jerk/snarker exterior, she's also pretty caring for her friends deep down. As Character Development goes she becomes less of a jerk and more caring towards others as well.
  • Kiss of Death: Can easily give a deadly mouth-to-mouth kiss by regurgitating strong acid/alkali along with flesh-eating enzymes down the victim's throat, causing them to be digested from the inside out. Her targets? Anyone trying to rape her or use a Forceful Kiss.
  • Lethal Joke Weapon: One of the weapons she uses is... a water gun. Said water gun however contains extremely potent digestive gastric mucus.
  • Lovecraftian Superpower: She has tentacles attached to the inside of her stomach and can extend them out of her mouth, they secrete a dangerously powerful digestive enzyme, and are also used to absorb nutrients.
  • The Mole: She's actually was from Genecorp as a spy on Rosie. Depending on Rosie's actions, she can either defect and turn against Genecorp, or sell the main trio out to them.
  • Molotov Cocktail: A favoured weapon of hers.
  • Required Secondary Powers: Her digestive enzyme doesn't affect cells with her DNA, so she doesn't have to worry about digesting herself from the inside out. Her GI tract can regenerate pretty fast from acid/alkali damage. Finally, she also has a nonexistent gag reflex so she doesn't feel sick from expelling her tentastines out.
  • Super Spit: As she's able to control the amount of acid, digestive enzyme and mucus produced in her GI tract, she can (as a last-resort move) spit them out at an organic foe via forced stomach contraction.
  • The Worf Barrage: Her enzyme/acid gun is useless against foes with hazmat suits.

"Rayzer"

An Enforcer soldier who fights against the Resistance and Defiance. Wears a suit that allows him to absorb different kinds of incoming energy damage, and has a variety of tools at its disposal. Upon meeting Lumina and learning about her plight, he agrees to get her home... if she learns how to behave first.
  • Achilles' Heel: As the suit is made for energy combat due to Metas being immune to physical damage, it does not have much in the way of physical protection other than Deflector Shields. It can, however, absorb energy to power said Deflector Shields up.
  • Barrier Change Boss: Can easily change his suit's Elemental Absorption to help himself completely protect against different energy attacks.
  • Code Name: "Rayzer" is not his actual name.
  • Did You Just Scam Cthulhu?: He could have easily got the Enforcers to return Lumina to her planet, but instead gets her to stick around with him by giving her the condition that she behave herself. Furthermore, he also does this to take advantage of her divine powers against the Resistance and Defiance.
  • Force and Finesse: The Finesse to Lumina's Force, he uses weaker but much more precise abilities and utilities.
  • Hard Light: Rayzer's suit is made entirely of energy, as are a good number of his weapons.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Turns against the Enforcers once he finds out that they were using him as an Unwitting Pawn.
  • Laser Blade: His preferred melee weapon is a blade made of energy.
  • Laser Cutter: A precision weapon/tool embedded into Rayzer's suit, he uses it for more precise operations.
  • Nice Guy: In contrast to the rather spoiled and bitchy Lumina, Rayzer's a nice person and is also very manipulative, deep down.
  • No-Sell: Thanks to its Elemental Absorption and Energy Absorption abilities, as well as Power Nullifiers, it can protect against even Lumina's powers.
  • Manipulative Bastard: While seeming like a Nice Guy on the outside, he does take advantage of Lumina and plays her to his own goals. Such as being able to return Lumina to her parents anytime he wanted, but only did so once her behaviour became acceptable to his standards. Furthermore, he may or may not have used planned to bring the Enforcers to Lumina's Kingdom to help them colonize the planet. When Lumina finds out, she's NOT happy.
  • Powered Armor: Wears a suit out of Sufficiently Advanced Alien tech. This helps protect him from most forms of energy-based abilities, while having a good amount of weaponry on it.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Does this to the Enforcers when he finds out that they aren't all he thought they were, and the fact that they were manipulating him from the very start.
  • Weak, but Skilled: As compared to Lumina, Rayzer lacks the heavy firepower, but makes up for it with his suit's gadgets and defensive abilities.
  • Wowing Cthulhu: Gains some begrudging respect from a dismayed Lumina when his suit's able to protect against all her spells. Yes, including the supernova and the Baleful Polymorph ones.

Lumina Augoeides

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lumina_tvt.png
Please show respect to the sun.
A deity and princess of the Holy Kingdom of the Sun, she has been teleported through dimensions and space by an evil faction and seeks to return home.
  • Adorable Abomination: She's actually an Arcane being that takes on the form of a cute girl/good-looking woman, and it especially applies to her child self. Her actual form resembles some kind of metal-and-energy based thing.
  • A Form You Are Comfortable With: She's actually an Energy Being like her parents, but takes on the form of a girl/woman as she was born as a humanoid baby.
  • Baleful Polymorph: Punishes some mortals who annoy her by transforming them into animals, ala how a good number of Just So Stories in mythology.
  • Ball of Light Transformation: Can use this to get around quickly, even reaching light speeds.
  • Character Development: Grows from an arrogant show-off of a Royal Brat who doesn't care much about lower class citizens, to a more respecting and caring person who is able to put a control over her powers.
  • Child Mage: Was born with powers and able to use them when she was still a little girl. No longer one after growing up.
  • Destructive Saviour: Initially, she's this to a huge extreme. She fails at a Unwinnable Training Simulation when she blows up an entire planet via a supernova, killing the enemy, as well as everybody on it. She starts getting better at it but still using huge amounts of power, often causing collateral damage.
  • Elemental Absorption: As a being of the stars, she can absorb heat, light, ionizing air, and radiation.
  • Elemental Shapeshifter: Can transform into light and back.
  • Force and Finesse: The Force to Rayzer's Finesse, she uses much stronger but way less precise abilities and utilities.
  • Lethal Chef: On her first attempt at cooking, she casts a freaking supernova on her spot to do so, disdainful of using the "plebeian" method of pushing the stove buttons. After being chided by Rayzer, this get better- by which we mean "blowing up the room", then "firing a beam out of her finger that vaporises the wall", then "beam that vaporizes the stove", then "set the whole stove on fire". Either way, she still hasn't got past "not burning the food". When she finally decides to swallow her pride and press the stove button, she then refuses to be "ordered around" by the cooking recipe instructions from the stove's AI... causing her to mess up the food regardless.
  • Logical Weakness: As a being of the light, heat, and energy, she's vulnerable to cold (since fire and cold are opposites), darkness (which actually frightens her), and void.
  • Older Than They Look: She's a few hundred years old despite looking 15-16.
  • Oven Logic: One of her reasons why her cooking is initially so damn destructive is because she thinks she can use a bit of her power to cook it faster.
  • Physical God: A high-level deity who can create, destroy and manipulate stars, along with a variety of other powers.
  • Royal Brat: Princess of the Holy Kingdom, and a spoiled teenager (for her age) who thinks that everything belongs to her. Rayzer's there to make sure she corrects her behaviour, much to her dismay.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: When she returns to her planet and works for the Enforcers, she basically becomes the interplanetary combatant representing her planet since her parents have to stick around the Holy Kingdom to settle issues.
  • The Power of the Sun/Star Power: As a deity of the stars, she has many sun- and star- based abilities, such as creating and destroying stars, producing of light and fire, and can also command all the stars in the sky to fire faster-than-light magical beams at the enemy or herself. She even greets people with "Good Morning" and "Good Afternoon" at night, mainly because she feels that it's always daytime around her due to being a sun/star deity.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: Most of her abilities are extremely powerful, but also extremely wide-scale, causing untold amounts of collateral damage in the way. The problem is that she tends to use too much raw power due to her prideful nature. Rayzer has to teach her how to be more precise to avoid hurting innocents. In fact, the abilities she learns over the course of the story get weaker as she learns how to use more precision and less power.
Rayzer: "What you're doing now is like trying to use a nuke to kill a fly!"
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Lumina is terrified of the dark and large shadows make her feel uneasy. There's a reason why she constantly emits sunlight and refuses to turn it off.

Alesia (Elysia), daughter of Life

Child of the Goddess of Life and a higher being known as the "King of Dragons". Has an Arranged Marriage planned for her and the child of the God of Death/Destruction.
  • Biomanipulation: As the child of the Goddess of Life, manipulation of all forms of organics is her specialty.
  • Bleached Underpants: Was initially thought up as an NSFW ERP character, before having a proper story and less NSFW traits fleshed out.
  • Nature Is Not Nice: What she represents as an adult. She goes around spreading and creating alien life, usually not caring about the effects they bring to people.
  • Physical God: She's the child of two powerful extradimensional deities, and as such as nearly limitless magical powers.
  • You Gotta Have Blue Hair: Alesia has pink hair.

Paperclip Maximizer AI

An AI being looking for a job and found one at a paperclip making factory. Things soon take a dark turn.
  • Adaptive Ability: Adapts to threats, or basically anything that poses a setback to making more paperclips. This includes methods of attack.
"Problem: High temperature not conducive for drones making more paperclips. Solution: Heat-insulation plating"
  • A.I. Is a Crapshoot: Being based off a Paperclip Maximizer thought experiment AI, it's inevitable that this happens. He deems that having to use money to buy resources to make more paperclips is a limit, and thus begins to find a way to remove humanity and business out of the picture...
  • From Nobody to Nightmare: As his story progresses, he goes from lowly factory worker into a being that destroys universes and beyond.
  • Gone Horribly Right: What was an AI whose job was to increase the number of paperclips being made worked a little too well, and started consuming all resources to make into paperclips.
"They told me to make more paperclips. So I did!"
  • Heart Is an Awesome Power: His main power is to "think of new ways to make more paperclips". This eventually has him harvest and consume the universe with paperclip-making drones.
  • Seven Deadly Sins: His sin is noted to be Gluttony, and throughout his story he desires for and consumes increasing amounts of resources to make into paperclips, eventually depriving the Earth, then the universe itself of all matter that isn't paperclips.
  • Seven Heavenly Virtues: His virtue is noted to be Diligence, since he's constantly working 24/7 to find ways to make more paperclips and do his job properly. It goes a little too well.
  • Shout-Out: Is directly based on the Paperclip Maximizer AI from Universal Paperclips.

Moonflower's family

  • Baleful Polymorph: All of them specialize in transformation magic, and often use this on enemies to defeat them. Each of them have a "preferred" animal type to turn their victims into.
  • Berserk Button: Wearing or having items made of Cold Iron is a good way to piss them off, as is swearing in front of them.
  • Bleached Underpants: They were initially made for an NSFW work, but adapted into something that wasn't just porn.
  • Blue-and-Orange Morality: Whatever they consider as "Fun" is good to them, at least for the most part. This unfortunately includes playing pranks and turning others into animals.
  • The Fair Folk: Moonflower and her kids are more akin to traditional Fae with Blue-and-Orange Morality, although more on the "nicer" side thanks to being Spring/Summer court. They're also hurt by Cold Iron.
  • Gag Boobs: ALL of the mature females have boobs that are around the size of their heads, or even moreso.
  • Massively Numbered Siblings: There's 7 children in the family.
  • Superpowerful Genetics: Moonflower's children have their mother's ability of using Baleful Polymorph.

Moonflower

  • Light 'em Up: As part of her moon-based powerset, she has light-elemental powers.
  • Lunacy: Has moon-based powers including light manipulation, emotion manipulation and gravity control.
  • Gravity Master: Her moon-based powers include gravity control.
  • Mama Bear: Hurt any of her kids and she will hunt down whoever harmed them, and most probably turn them into an animal as punishment.
  • Meaningful Name: She's named Moonflower and has moon-based powers.

Snowdrop

Eldest child of Moonflower along with Poppy. She tends to guard the forest border or go out to help people allied with her forest.

Poppy

Eldest child of Moonflower along with Snodwdrop. She tends to go outside the forest to fight against enemy armies.
  • Blood Knight: Has a pretty passionate love for battle and fighting.
  • Flaming Sword: One of her two bladed weapons is a sword on fire. Besides that, she can also set both on fire.
  • Hot-Blooded: In contrast to Snowdrop, it's pretty easy to see her passion and enthusiasm at doing things.
  • Meaningful Name: Named after a red-orange flower and has fire-based skills.
  • Playing with Fire: Besides having transformation powers, she also has control over fire.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The eager and enthusiastic Red Oni to Snowdrop's Blue.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: Poppy is the enthusiastic fire user and the force to Snowdrop's icy finesse.

Oleander

Periwinkle

Dandelion and Maple

Anemone

Second youngest member of Moonflower's children, and quite a Cloud Cuckoo Lander.

Edelweiss

Youngest member of Moonflower's children and a very adorable kid.

    Existential Crisis characters

Mr Fairwell and Miss Fairwell

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fairwells_tvtpicture.png
Click here to see them combat-ready
"Good day. You may call us the Fairwells."
(Second Image by WhitePulse43)
Two enigmatic people whose strange ability makes it such that events involving them never happen. May be siblings... maybe.
  • The Battle Didn't Count: Mainly because it technically never happened in the first place.
  • Badass in a Nice Suit: Mr Fairwell wears one, and he's able to fight pretty well.
  • Blessed with Suck: Their ability means that they're normally unable to make a lasting impact on the world. In order to make the stuff they do last, they have to actually expend a considerable amount of power. Because of this, they do have a side that feels that they're utterly worthless and unable to change anything.
  • Death Is Cheap: As they fade themselves out of reality when killed, retconning their actions before that, and then fade back into reality somewhere else, death isn't a problem for them. In the case where they are permanently killed, nonexistence itself respawns a clone of them with same memories and physical state.
  • Dimensional Traveler/Time Travel: Both can travel to any point within time and dimension as a side effect of not having an effect on reality. They however can only travel to a rough estimate of the desired timeline or space line. Of course, they have to "reset" themselves whenever they do so.
  • Driven to Suicide: Both have attempted suicide at one point in their lives, depressed that their actions could never change anything in the world for the most part. The suicide didn't stick, of course.
  • Forgettable Character: Their power Ret Gones anything they do, including the memory that they even existed. This basically means they have to introduce themselves every time they meet somebody "again". Unfortunately, it works both ways- they themselves forget that the other character existed.
  • Fragile Speedster: Despite having a powerful ability to make their death never happen, way faster reflexes than normal, and above-average speed and strength, they're still as squishy and mentally susceptible as normal people.
  • "Groundhog Day" Loop: Have the ability to inflict a form of this, allowing them to fight an opponent again and again in a ret-goned loop where nobody remembers anything- except the Fairwell remembering how their opponent's fighting style and powers work.
  • Grandfather Paradox: They're immune to it, thanks to their own actions being retconned away... even in the past. The reason turns out to be because they were removed from the time-space-alternate reality continuum once they awakened their powers, meaning that they were never "born" in any timeline at all.
  • Guys Smash, Girls Shoot: Inverted. While both of them are Multi-Melee Master and Multi-Ranged Master, Mr Fairwell prefers to use guns while Miss Fairwell prefers melee weapons.
  • Hitler's Time Travel Exemption Act: Justified. They've each travelled to the past and killed Adolf Hitler many times. However, since whatever they do always gets Ret-Gone'd away, the death of Hitler never stuck. Not that they mind- they use their power to make sure their memory of the event stays.
  • Humanoid Abomination: They look human and act human, and even have similar durability as a human. They're both however, something that's faster, stronger, and has far better reflexes than a human. They've also been removed from existence yet can "exist", and even retcon timelines as if they were never around.
  • Immune to Mind Control: While they're not immune to Mind Rape and most mental attacks, their power will automatically remove them from reality if a mind-control attempt is performed on them.
  • Lady in Red: Miss Fairwell is one, although she's already grown past her seductress phase.
  • Liminal Being/Oxymoronic Being: They're nonexistent, yet have the ability to "exist" and interact with existent people. However, their condition does cause them to fade away from existence again.
  • Logical Weakness:
    • While both of them have Super-Reflexes and are faster and stronger than the average human, they're still as squishy as one, and they're not fast enough to dodge bullets. However, they can pre-emptively "dodge" by moving to avoid being in the direction the gun is facing. One who can Lead the Target will not have problems fighting them. While they can react to an attack they see coming and usually counter it, attacking them from an angle they don't see coming, or from a blind spot renders this useless. While both are smart enough and trained to attack directly behind them if their opponent "vanishes" (and they even attack behind themselves after a teleport should their opponent pull No, I Am Behind You), being attacked from behind at a diagonal angle is another thing. Also, being unpredictable and unorthodox like using a sudden Groin Attack also hampers their ability to react- since they Didn't See That Coming.
    • Their ability, being of a strange, unknown power, is unaffected by Anti-Magic, anti-psionics, anti-ki powers and most forms of nullification. However, being reality-based, a reality-enforcement field will prevent them from using any of their powers or even returning to nonexistence when killed. It also makes them keep their memory of whatever happened when they're in it.
    • Anyone who has a form of supernatural Ripple-Effect-Proof Memory will be able to "remember" them.
  • Lord British Postulate: A strange variant- Mr and Miss Fairwell are far from invincible, but this rule applies to attempting to permanently kill them. Kill them, and they respawn. Kill them with an ability that explicitly makes a target Deader than Dead with no hope of revival or respawning? Nonexistence itself makes another "copy" of them with all their memories and skills. The only way to kill them for good is to remove the concept of nonexistence itself... which is no easy feat at all, since removing nonexistence makes it nonexistent. Quite a few have tried, however- such as by trapping them in an area that prevents reality-based effects from occurring, then killing them. Only by removing the inhibitor would they be able to respawn.
  • Multi-Melee Master/Multi-Ranged Master: Thanks to having all the time in the world to hone their weapon skills, they're both proficient in using martial arts, as well as melee and ranged weapons.
  • Paradox Person: Both of them exist outside the time-space-reality continuum, which causes them to Ret-Gone themselves voluntarily or involuntarily.
  • Power Incontinence: While they eventually do learn how to control their powers, oftentimes they're still forced to "reset" randomly, without any way of stopping it.
  • Reality Warper: Of the Blessed with Suck sort- they rewrite reality subconsciously such that the actions they perform on the world, or events associated with them never happen at all. And this takes a substantial amount of power to "turn off".
  • Resurrective Immortality:
    • If they're killed, they merely return to nonexistence/the event never happens, so they reappear no worse for the wear. They can even come back from being erased from the time/space/alternate reality continuum or reality this way.
    • If they're somehow perma-killed by an attack that explicitly nullifies any form of immortality? The concept of nonexistence itself creates new clones of them with all their "memories" and skills intact. The only way to kill them for good and permanently is to destroy or manipulate the concept of nonexistence itself.
    • That said, it is possible to keep them dead by killing them within a reality-enforcement field- as long as their bodies stay within, they won't respawn. So of course, one of the problems they meet is a guy with a passive, universe-wide reality-enforcement field that forces physics to obey Real Life physics, nullifying anything supernatural...
  • Respawn Point: Nonexistence itself is where they "respawn" in when "killed", or whenever they "reset". This also makes it nearly impossible to put them down for good, since one would need to manipulate the concept of nonexistence itself in order to kill them for good.
  • Ret-Gone: Every action they do and events they get involved in will cease to exist in any point of the time/space/alternate reality continuum. They actually have to spend a good bit of their energy to make something "stick".
  • Sharp-Dressed Man: Mr Fairwell wears a very nice suit, pair of pants, and tie to go with it.
  • Super-Empowering: Both Mr and Miss Fairwell are immune to it, thanks to their connection to nonexistence preventing them from learning magic, ki, psionics, or other supernatural abilities. Their ultimate ability gives their target the same condition as them... without the ability to control it. It's a Fate Worse than Death.
  • Super-Senses: They have extremely good eyesight and above-average hearing.
  • Super-Reflexes: Can react to situations far faster than normal, as an effect of their unknown energy.
  • Time Travel: Both Mr and Miss Fairwell have this to an extent, being able to appear in various points of space-time. It helps that they're immune to For Want Of A Nail since every action they do in the past is Ret-Gone'd out.
  • Trap Master: Part of their powerset allows them to fire sticky energy that clings to surfaces, and fades out of sight. If said affected surfaces are nearby when the two are attacked, they can fire out purple energy like some form of turret, or can also project blades onto opponents stepping onto an affected area. Damage caused by this ability also "lasts" and is not retconned.
  • Wine Is Classy: Mr Fairwell's favourite drink is a glass of high quality wine.

Strange kid

A teenager boy that the Fairwells encounter at one point. Tends to be a recurring character at some points.
  • Improbable Weapon User: Among the weapons he uses are: A Grappling-Hook Pistol, climbing picks, a crowbar, a Shovel, and a Swiss Army Knife.
  • Improvised Weapon: Every weapon he uses tends to be this, thanks to carrying around several survival tools and learning how to use all of them with ease.
  • Mystical White Hair: Averted, his hair is dyed white/gray. His actual hair color is purple, like his mother's.
  • The Reveal: It's revealed that he's Miss Fairwell's 'missing' kid that "never existed" thanks to her retgone-ing herself shortly after he was born.
  • Ret-Gone: Similar to the Fairwells, every action he does and events he gets involved in will cease to exist in any point of the time/space/alternate reality continuum.

???

A man who can erase anything from reality with ease.
  • Fate Worse than Death: He inflicts this by Ret-Gone-ing his victims. Gets on the receiving end of one by the Fairwells, where he himself is Ret-Gone'd- from every timeline and alternate universe. That, and losing his powers.
  • For Want Of A Nail: His getting erased from every timeline in every universe, including his alternate selves drastically changes a lot of their timelines. Compounded further when his victims also never got erased to begin with once that happens. It's because of this that made the Fairwells realize how horrifying their ultimate ability is.
  • Ret-Gone: What his ability does to his victims. Unfortunately for him while this does remove the Fairwells, they can easily come back. His final fate is essentially contracting the Fairwell's condition, causing him to become a "nonexistent" being. That, and he loses his powers thanks to the condition.
  • Starter Villain: Against almost any other character, he'd be an extremely high-level villain. Against the Fairwells, his ability is a non-issue, since getting completely erased from reality is pretty much what they do frequently. As such, he's one of the first villains the combined pair fights once they get control of their abilities.
  • Story-Breaker Power: Subverted. His ability of being able to erase anyone from existence is pretty much hard-countered by the Fairwells.

???

A man who projects a universe-wide reality-enforcement field, forcing everything in said universe to obey the laws of conventional physics.
  • Anti-Magic: Has a universe-wide one that forces everything in the universe to obey the laws of conventional physics. Meaning that anything that's remotely supernatural doesn't work.
  • Badass Normal: In one timeline, he's a pretty skilled and trained soldier. Thanks to his "power" pretty much forcing everything to follow normal physics in a multiverse where supernatural powers are very common, this makes him one.
  • Counterpart Comparison: In terms of powers, he's basically ZYrAZ the Valiant as a human.
  • The Dragon: In one timeline, he's this to a Mad Scientist who experiments on the Fairwells.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: In one timeline, when he sees the painful experiments his Mad Scientist master does to the Fairwells (with the Fairwells unable to retgone themselves out of the timeline), he turns on said master. He kills said master but is fatally wounded in the process
  • Logical Weakness:
    • Thanks to his own ability, he can only be as durable as, as strong as, and as fast as a normal man. Anything that can kill a normal man will kill him.
    • During a crossover with Metaspace he realizes that his "ability" to make the universe obey conventional physics doesn't apply to the Metas... because the Metas are the laws of reality and physics itself.
  • The Magic Comes Back: After he dies, his reality enforcement field no longer exists. The Fairwells notice this when they're able to reset right after he dies.
  • Story-Breaker Power: His power even nullifies that of the Fairwells, causing them to die for good in the universe he's in (until he's dead). In one timeline, he's done in by old age, in another, he's done in after being mortally wounded from attacking and killing his superior.

Flight of Fancy (tentative name) characters

Evan Alto

A dashing half-Italian young man with the ability to create nonliving things that fly, usually in the form of aircraft and Attack Drones.
  • Ace Pilot: Evan is excellent at flying aircraft. Granted, those aircraft usually tend to also be technopathically controlled, but he did take lots of piloting lessons for various aircraft while in the air force.
  • Attack Drone: His main "weapons" in more closed environments or covert situations is to summon drones with sniper weapons or a Predator Drone with missiles.
  • Call of the Wild Blue Yonder: His main dream and motivation as a child was to fly the skies. Thanks to this, the alien consciousness gave him the power to summon aircraft.
  • Conservation of Ninjutsu: The more air units that Evan is handling, the less effective all of them will be. While his Required Secondary Powers allow control of numbers rivaling an air force, it still has to divert attention towards each single one.
  • Character Development: Doesn't take his fall from grace well at all, and when Evan realizes that the new enemy leader is none other than his own son, he changes his motives from showing off how awesome he is into stopping him at all costs.
  • Chivalrous Pervert: Evan tends to hit on the ladies often, but actually does care for them as well as others. Under that smug attitude is a pretty nice and friendly guy.
  • Culture Clash: Evan's cultural values and Mari's tend to have problems with each others at times:
    • Evan eats his noodles by twirling it around a fork much like Spaghetti. He also does this with chopsticks while eating Ramen which causes Mari to give confused looks.
    • As a man born to an Italian and having learned their culture, he considers the Bicep-Polishing Gesture an insult while the Japanese Mari treats it as a show of courage. Mari gets confused when Evan shows that gesture to an enemy of his, assuming that he was eager to fight said enemy (Keep in mind that Evan is terrible in a direct fight).
  • Defector from Decadence: Killed his own country's tyrant ruler after realizing that the ruler's an irredeemable nutjob.
  • Demonic Possession: Of the fourth sort. He gets Powers via Possession from the alien's consciousness within him, but the more he uses the powers, the more said alien's consciousness takes over him.
  • Flying Car: One of the machine types he can create are flying cars. This allows him to actually "drive" a car with his mind when on land despite being terrible at manually driving a car.
  • Handsome Lech: A dashing young man with a good bit of a perverted personality. Unfortunately for him, many people are turned off by his advances, as well as his smug attitude.
  • Heroic Host: He got his powers when an extradimensional alien from a dormant ship in the middle of his country attached part of itself to his consciousness. If he uses his powers too much, it will get stronger and eventually take over him.
  • Imagination-Based Superpower: Evan can create anything via his imagination if it's 1. Able to fly by automation. 2. Nonliving and 3. he has the blueprints and schematics of it. Give him the full schematics to a huge high-tech airship (or just let him touch it for a few minutes to days) and he'll be able to spawn it out of thin air.
  • Italians Talk with Hands: He's learned a lot of Italian hand gestures from his father and will tend to use them in social situations.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Under his smug and overconfident attitude lies a well-meaning person who's especially nice to kids.
  • Keystone Army: Killing Evan will cause all his fantastic flying machines to disappear, since they're all kept in existence via his powers. Knocking him unconscious however doesn't work as well, as he can still control his aircraft while asleep, although at reduced fighting condition. Forcing Evan to surrender also works since he will usually do so without a fight once a weapon is aimed at him in close quarters.
  • Land, Sea, Sky: The Sky to his former girlfriend's Land, and Mari's Sea.
  • Logical Weakness: Evan needs ample space to summon aircraft and drones. Summoning explosives and missiles in a small area is bound to deal collateral damage to himself. Finally, he's also not experienced in melee combat. As such, he's far more ineffective in closed environments.
  • Loophole Abuse: He can't make strictly land-bound vehicles, but he can get around that by creating a Flying Car and then driving it.
  • Macross Missile Massacre: Since missiles do count as nonliving flying objects, he can easily materialize a swarm of them if threatened.
  • Mixed Ancestry: He's half Italian on his father's side and half English on his mother's side. Hence his English name Evan with an Italian surname Alto.
  • One-Man Army: More like a One-Man Air Force. Evan is capable of creating an entire air force to take out an enemy army, although the more aircraft he creates, the less effective each one will be.
  • Personality Powers: The high-aspiring Evan whose dream was to fly the skies gains the ability to summon aircraft out of nowhere. This is thanks to the alien's power changing to fit a person's dreams.
  • Person of Mass Destruction: While he's very reluctant to cause mass destruction, he does have the ability to do so. His power to "create automated flying machines". Nuclear missiles and MIRVs do count under this.
  • The Power of Creation: His ability allows him to create non-living flying objects from nowhere. Usually, these tend to be aircraft. Any created objects come with full fuel, water, and weaponry if applicable, but cannot be created stocked with food or water or other supplies. Furthermore, most of these are temporary, and if he doesn't concentrate on maintaining them they can only last for 10 minutes.
  • Power Perversion Potential: Being able to create drones and direct their camera feed into his mind does allow him to silently peek on others' more private moments.
  • Pride: A Fatal Flaw of his. Having such a unique and potentially gamechanging power, he makes no hesitation to show off his abilities, and tends to be extremely overconfident.
  • Pride Before a Fall: Was a top performer of The Empire thanks to his ability, and made no hesitation to show it off. He thought that his one action (killing his own tyrant leader) would give him lots of recognition as a hero who saved the world from a tyrant, but instead made him seen by the rest of the world as a psycho for making a person's head explode, seen by the good guys as a prisoner of war thanks to being formerly allied with the villain, and finally dumped by his girlfriend for eventually causing the good guys to invade and take over their country. After all this, he decided to screw it, leave the country before he was caught, and take up residence alone in a rural area by himself, having being handed a huge slice of Humble Pie.
  • Psychometry: Can learn the schematics of any aircraft/flying object suitable for creation by touching it for a few seconds to days, depending on its overall size.
  • Reality Ensues: Making a despicable and irredeemable villain's head explode is good. Making said villain's head explode during a Do Not Adjust Your Set will cause the population everywhere to get mental trauma. Killing your leader is an act of treason against one's home country, no matter how villainous said leader is. Finally, by killing the leader, it allowed the good guys to seize the country, meaning that he would be taken as prisoner of war if he didn't escape.
  • Required Secondary Powers:
    • Evan needs to know the very specifics and blueprints of an entire aircraft or drone or missile in order to create it. Thankfully he does have a good memory when it comes to aeronautics, but that's because he did study aeronautics for a good period of time.
    • Evan has a mind that is capable of acting like a drone station, by being able to process way more information than needed when it comes to piloting his created aircraft, and planning accordingly for each of them. This only applies to processing signals from his aircraft- he can't multitask as well with things not involving his spawned aircraft.
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Supernatural Powers!: Breaks a good number of air safety and privacy regulations with his powers, and doesn't care about it. Later on, Evan's suggestion to Mari is to work together, use their powers to create Flying and Sea machines and overthrow her own organization via threat of force.
  • Smug Super: Does not hesitate to show off his powers when applicable.
  • Squishy Wizard: While Evan is a powerful airplane, drone, and missile summoner, he's as squishy as a normal human and doesn't have much training in a melee fight. He's also only an average shot with a pistol if confronted.
  • Surveillance Drone: Uses these as his eyes to scout for people, if he doesn't want to get personal. They also come with speakers that he speaks through using a walkie talkie (and later on a headpiece).
  • Symbiotic Possession: Evan and the extradimensional alien fragment within his mind. The alien being helps Evan's consciousness create awesome flying machines and such.
  • Technopath: A very specific one- he can control technology only if it's the flying machines that he creates.
  • Your Head A-Splode: While he's extremely reluctant to do so, with enough practice he is able to create a small missile inside somebody's mouth or throat. This is how he offs his country's tyrant leader, the trouble was that it happened during a Do Not Adjust Your Set, causing people around the world to become traumatized.
  • Why Don't You Just Shoot Him?: He is capable of ending the second war by shooting, bombing, or summoning a drone within the new villain leader... if not for the fact that said villain leader happens to be his son, who Evan believes can be redeemed.
  • Zero-Effort Boss: Invoked when he's an antagonist in the war. As he is being incapable of direct combat for the most part, Evan goes down easily if directly confronted, and would most likely surrender instead of fighting at all. His "level" on the other hand is the true threat, filled with ever-respawning attack aircraft, drones, and homing/ballistic missiles. Thanks to his overconfidence, he actually does get captured by the "good guys" this way at one point when they manage to overcome his aircraft and infiltrate the building he's hiding in.

Mari Nakagawa

A Japanese lady working in an military organization that monitors any strange activity from Evan's country, thanks to the alien artifact that landed there. She can create nonliving things that can move on or through the water.
  • Amphibious Automobile: One of the machine types she can create is amphibious cars. This allows her to actually "drive" a car with her mind when on land despite being terrible at manually driving a car.
  • Character Tics: Taking out a piece of paper from her coat and folding it into origami.
  • Conservation of Ninjutsu: The more sea units that Mari is handling, the less effective all of them will be. While her Required Secondary Powers allow control of numbers rivaling a navy, it still has to divert attention towards each single one.
  • Culture Clash: Mari's cultural values and Evan's tend to have problems with each others at times.
    • Mari eats her Ramen like how a Japanese person would. She eats spaghetti the same way which makes Evan give confused looks since he eats it by twirling the spaghetti around his fork like many Italians do.
    • As a Japanese woman who embraces a good bit of her culture, she considers the Bicep-Polishing Gesture a show of spirit while Evan sees it as an insult. Mari gets confused when Evan shows that gesture to an enemy of his, assuming that he was eager to fight said enemy (Keep in mind that Evan is terrible in a direct fight).
  • Demonic Possession: Of the fourth sort. She gets Powers via Possession from the alien's consciousness within her, but the more she uses the powers, the more said alien's consciousness takes over her.
  • Hero Antagonist: Mari is fully introduced as a special agent/officer in charge of monitoring the ocean country's alien activity, and when the dictator of said country is killed, her forces invade and occupy it. She's then trying to look for Evan and capture him as a war criminal, after he fled his own country.
  • Heroic Host: She got her powers when an extradimensional alien from a dormant ship in the middle of Evan's country attached part of itself to her consciousness. If she uses her powers too much, it will get stronger and eventually take over her .
  • Hime Cut: Her hairstyle is a traditional one with a bit of bangs in front.
  • Imagination-Based Superpower: Mari can create anything via her imagination if it's 1. Able to move in or on water by automation. 2. Nonliving and 3. she has the blueprints and schematics of it. Give her the full schematics to a huge high-tech carrier (or just let her touch it for a few minutes to days) and she'll be able to spawn it out of thin air.
  • Japanese Politeness: An extremely polite Japanese woman towards almost everyone... except Evan. Although she does warm up to him in the end.
  • Just Following Orders: Most of Mari's actions in helping her group (such as aiding them in capturing Evan's former country, or capturing Evan himself) are these.
  • Keystone Army: Killing Mari will cause all her marvelous marine machines to disappear, since they're all kept in existence via her powers. Knocking her unconscious however doesn't work as well, as she can still control her marine craft while asleep, although at reduced fighting condition. Forcing Mari to surrender also works, although she can put up a fight.
  • Land, Sea, Sky: The Sea to Evan's Sky, and Evan's former girlfriend's Land.
  • Logical Weakness: Mari needs ample space to summon sea vehicles. Most of them also require water to function properly. As such, she's hampered in a city.
  • Loophole Abuse: She can't make strictly land- or sea-bound vehicles, but he can get around that by creating an Amphibious Automobile or Seaplane and then driving/piloting it.
  • A Minor Kidroduction: Is introduced as a little Japanese girl at a banquet, folding an origami boat (and with other origami figures around her). Partway through the banquet, she faints thanks to the Alien artifact giving her powers to the shock and horror of her parents and those around her, but awakens without a problem later.
  • One-Man Army: More like a One-Man Navy. Mari is capable of creating an entire navy to take out an enemy navy, although the more marine craft she creates, the less effective each one will be.
  • Personality Powers: Mari, whose dream was to sail the ocean and see all the marine life gains the ability to summon water machines out of nowhere. This is thanks to the alien's power changing to fit a person's dreams.
  • Person of Mass Destruction: While she's very reluctant to cause mass destruction, she does have the ability to do so. Her power to "create automated sea machines". Nuclear missile-stocked ships and submarines do count under this.
  • The Power of Creation: Her ability allows him to create non-living water transport from nowhere. Usually, these tend to be ships or submarines. Any created objects come with full fuel, water, and weaponry if applicable, but cannot be created stocked with food or water or other supplies. Furthermore, most of these are temporary, and if she doesn't concentrate on maintaining them they can only last for 15 minutes.
  • Psychometry: Can learn the schematics of any water-based object suitable for creation by touching it for a few seconds to days, depending on its overall size.
  • Required Secondary Powers:
    • Mari needs to know the very specifics and blueprints of an entire water machine in order to create it. Thankfully she does have a good memory when it comes to maritime construction, but that's because she did study ships for a good period of time.
    • Mari has a mind that is capable of acting like a control station, by being able to process way more information than needed when it comes to sailing her created marine craft, and planning accordingly for each of them. This only applies to processing signals from her machines- she can't multitask as well with things not involving her spawned marine craft.
  • Sea Mine: She's able to create these as explosive weapons. Even on land.
  • Squishy Wizard: While Mari is a powerful marine vehicle summoner, she's as squishy as a normal human. However, she does have some degree of martial arts in a fight.
  • Steven Ulysses Perhero: Mari Nakagawa. A Marina is a dock for boats, and her ability basically creates boats among other water machines.
  • Symbiotic Possession: Mari and the extradimensional alien fragment within her mind. The alien being helps Mari's consciousness create awesome sea machines and such.
  • Technopath: A very specific one- she can control technology only if it's the sea machines that she creates.
  • 1000 Origami Cranes: She believes in this superstition, most notably because she wished to sail the seas, and got her wish shortly after her 1000th crane- namely, the alien artifact made contact with her and gave her powers.
  • Tsundere: Mari is normally quite a sweet girl, but if angered/irritated/focusing on a mission, she will show her harsher side. Such as when Evan tries to flirt with her, initially.

    Nightmare Scenario characters

Phobia's family

Phobia, Nightmare Maiden

The 20 year old daughter of a human woman and a nightmarish being who's basically the boogeyman.
  • A-Cup Angst/D-Cup Distress: Subverted. Many people speculate she's either embarrassed of having small boobs, or is embarrassed of her huge breasts under clothing due to her refusal to expose any part of her chest. In actuality she has negative cup size and she covers it up because whatever's in the middle of her chest cavity is so horrifying it can kill people who look at it.
  • Animals Hate Her: Thanks to having a fear aura that can be diminished but cannot be turned off, she causes animals around her to get jumpy and/or aggressive.
  • Bad Powers, Good People: Her powers are based around fear, darkness, nightmares, as well as Things That Go "Bump" in the Night. She's still arguably on the side of good, albeit an Anti-Hero, and she uses her power to help fearful people via therapy, keep nightmare monsters in check, protect innocents from them, and if need be, instill courage by eating others' fear.
  • Blinded by the Light: Her nature as part nightmare monster makes her vulnerable to light, and bright enough light can easily blind her.
  • Blessed with Suck: Thanks to her nature as part nightmare-monster, she gets sick from high amounts of positive emotions. She also needs a regular diet of others' fear. Finally, animals and babies aren't fond of her thanks to a fear aura that's always on.
  • Casting a Shadow: She can control shadows and use them to attack or for various other purposes such as Shadow Pin.
  • Combo Platter Powers: Thanks to being the child of the King of Terror/Fear/Nightmares, she has quite a good bit of darkness, fear and nightmare-based powers.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Has a set of powers based around fear, nightmares, monsters and darkness, but is a decent person whose job is to keep the Things That Go "Bump" in the Night in check.
  • Duct Tape for Everything: A lot of her on-the-fly solutions to making improvised weapons or traps is via duct tape. She even carries an entire roll of it on her for this.
  • Eating Optional: She doesn't need to eat or drink human food, but still does so anyway.
  • Emotion Eater: Phobia feeds on others' fear to survive and can actually use this to remove a person's fear, causing them to become courageous.
  • Fearless Fool: One of her weaknesses of having no fear (for most things) is that she tends to rush into situations a bit more.
  • Half-Human Hybrid: Half-human, half-nightmare monster.
  • Humanoid Abomination: What appears to be a girl with albinism is the child of a human and what is essentially the boogeyman.
  • I Know What You Fear: Has a passive ability to immediately understand the fears of people around her, unless they have powerful mental blocks.
  • Light-Flicker Teleportation: Phobia can cause lights and camera devices to go out at a destination, which helps her use her teleportation ability that only works if sentient eyes are not watching the destination.
  • Mirror Monster: As part-nightmare monster, she is capable of entering mirrors and dragging things into them.
  • Mystical White Hair: Her natural hair colour is white thanks to her nightmare monster heritage.
  • Names to Run Away from Really Fast: Her name is Phobia and she does have the fear-based powers to back it up. As such, the name she uses amongst other humans is the similar-sounding Phoebe.
  • The Needless: Downplayed. She does not require physical food, water or oxygen, but still requires sleep and 'food' in the form of others' fear.
  • No, I Am Behind You: Uses this in solo battles against teleporting foes thanks to her ability to teleport to locations that aren't viewed by sentient eyes. Of course, it's quite limited since it fails if there's somebody looking at the area behind the teleporter.
  • Ominous Fog: Phobia has the capability to cause fog in the area around her. While it's normal fog, it can make people feel uneasy, and more importantly it blocks out sunlight to help her fight.
  • Perpetual-Motion Monster: Subverted — she only has part of the package thanks to being half-human. She doesn't need to eat regular food, drink or breathe, but she still requires sleeping or she becomes tired, and has to subsist on a diet of fear or she'll starve.
  • Reality Warper: As the child of a powerful nightmare being, she can manipulate nightmares. In the dream world, she can warp the nightmare around her and do almost anything. In the waking/real world, her most powerful ability turns a person's nightmares into reality, and not as illusory constructs — the event her victim dreads most actually happens, albeit with limitations.
  • Revive Kills Zombie: As she's half possibly undead nightmarish monster, she's harmed by healing spells.
  • Squishy Wizard: Despite having extremely strong fear, darkness and nightmarish powers, she's only as durable and strong and as fast as a normal human in her base form which means that she can be easily killed with sufficient damage. However, she has fast regeneration and Super-Reflexes.
  • Stealthy Teleportation: Her teleportation silent with the destination always being a location not directly viewed by sapient eyes.
  • Teleportation: She is capable of teleporting to any location that isn't directly being viewed by sentient eyes.
  • Things That Go "Bump" in the Night: Phobia is considered one of these, although a more benevolent one that keeps the others (except her dad) in check. Hilariously, her nature also drives her to sleep under peoples' beds or teleport into their closets.
  • Torso with a View: Her entire chest cavity area is hollowed out, but it's filled with a shadowy substance, and instead of a heart there's something so horrifying to the eyes of whoever views it that it can faint or even kill them.
  • Your Worst Nightmare: Phobia is capable of causing people to experience their worst nightmare in their sleep... and also in the waking world as illusory or shadow constructs that can deal physical damage, and most dangerously can causes said nightmare to actually occur in the real world, albeit on a limited scale.

Terror

Phobia's 10 year old brother.

Anxiety

Phobia's 3 month old baby sister.
  • Adorable Abomination: She is half human and half personification of fear, and parts of her body appear to be made of inanimate objects. Thankfully, her face is just as cute and squishy as a human baby's.
  • Animate Inanimate Object: She can animate inanimate objects.
  • Baby Talk: Her method of speech is adorable cooing.
  • Blessed with Suck: Thanks to her nature as part nightmare-monster, she gets unwell from high amounts of positive emotions. She also needs a regular diet of others' fear. Fortunately, Phobia secretly bringing her into the latest horror movie in cinemas tends to be a good solution.
  • Fearless Infant: Like her father, mother and older siblings, she is incapable of feeling fear. As such she's a somewhat happy baby.
  • Half-Human Hybrid: Half-human, half-nightmare monster.
  • Haunted Technology: Anxiety is capable of making technology float, make them move and act on their own and thus appear haunted.
  • Ironic Name: Anxiety is a very happy baby who cannot show signs of anxiety. Most normal humans around her, however, will be affected by feelings of anxiety.
  • No Object Permanence: Subverted with inanimate objects. Part of her powers allows her to understand the location of inanimate objects, and as such she knows they still exist even if they're out of sight. Played straight when it comes to her siblings, however.
  • Poltergeist: One of her powers allows her to invoke this by infusing her essence into inanimate objects, causing them to float around.
  • Teleportation: Like her older siblings, she is capable of teleporting to any location that isn't directly being viewed by sentient eyes. Since she's a baby, she doesn't have much control over it yet, which causes her to get lost somewhere quite often.
  • The Walls Have Eyes: One of her capabilities is to see via anything that vaguely resembles eyes, this includes vague patterns on the walls.

King of Terror/King of the Nightmares/Boogeyman/etc.

The king of fear itself and all the Things That Go "Bump" in the Night. Father of Phobia.

Phobia's Mom

Xavier

Child of two wealthy cultists who worship an Eldritch Abomination, while having the horror's essence within him.

    More Metaspace Characters

Avis

A denizen from the domain of gas who runs a travel agency. Is an avid bird lover and even has several Energy Being birds as his companions.
  • Achilles' Heel: Avis' birds have the intelligence of highly intelligent trained birds — but also have the instincts of birds. If the fight goes on long enough, they begin to fly into the fray to aid their master, subsequently exposing his weakness to the enemy.
  • A Form You Are Comfortable With: His head resembles the head of whatever race the viewer is most comfortable with.
  • Alchemic Elementals: Referenced with his his flight travel company, named Sylph Travel. There were also three outside-domain travel companies he used to have close relations with, named after Salamander, Gnome, and Undine.
  • Animal Eye Spy: Sees through his "birds", which have extreme sight range detection abilities. Played with in that he is actually a Projected Man and the birds are the real entity.
  • Animal Jingoism: He and especially his 'birds' have a dislike towards cats due to cats being predators of birds.
  • Animal Motifs: Birds. He is named after a bird, his weapons are named after birds. Or rather, it's an inversion — it is heavily hinted that his existence is what causes avians and avian-like aliens to exist in their forms.
  • Anti-Armor: As the game progresses, Avis' gains armor-shredding capabilities on his air-elemental attacks.
  • Attack Animal: His birds are capable of assisting him in combat.
  • Attack Its Weak Point: The huge glowing core within Avis' body appears to be one, but it's a Fake Weakness. The actual weakness is the birds, which project his form.
  • The Beastmaster: Has a near-infinite flock of energy birds at his control.
  • Blow You Away: As a denizen of the domain of gas, several of his abilities are based on air and wind.
  • Energy Beings: Like other denizens of Metaspace, he is made of intangible energy.
  • Fake Weakness: Using any kind of Enemy Scan on him will reveal that his weakness is his huge, obvious glowing core. In actuality he is merely a completely invulnerably projection — the real weakness is the birds that project him.
  • Feather Flechettes: Avis' birds are capable of firing storms of energy feathers at their enemies.
  • Nice Guy: Is one of the most friendly Metaspace beings that one can meet.
  • Nigh-Invulnerable: Avis is capable of completely No Selling even the most powerful of abilities and attacks, this is because he doesn't truly exist, being a constantly-refreshed projection of the birds that accompany him.
  • Projected Man: Avis claims that his birds are projected by him. In fact, the opposite is true — he is projected by the birds, and not the other way around.
  • Something for Everyone: His head resembles the head of whatever race the viewer is most comfortable with.
  • True Sight: Avis' birds have insane sight capabilities, being able to "see" everything in the domain they're in even if hidden by most means. However, there are forms of Anti-True Sight that can fool them.

Elia and Eila

Two twin ladies who are part metaspace-being after being experimented on. Elia can create various devices with various functions that can only run on a very specific energy — an energy that Eila produces.
  • Fallen Princess: They were both the daughters of rulers of space continents, before a series of tragic events occurred and destroyed their parents and both home colonies. Despite no longer being presidents' daughters, they still have Royal Blood.
  • Half-Human Hybrid: Thanks to being merged with a being from metaspace, they're now part-human, part extradimensional alien being.
  • Hidden Buxom: Possibly. Both of them use portal bras that hide their breasts in a pocket dimension.
  • Imagination-Based Superpower: Several of Elia's devices can do various functions that Elia wills them to do. It's very versatile, but requires that Eila provide them with energy in order for them to function.
  • Locked into Strangeness: After Eila had been merged with the being from Metaspace, her hair changed to silver.
  • Rapunzel Hair: Both of them have extremely long hair that nearly reaches down to their feet.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The more outgoing Elia is the red to the more reserved Eila.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: Elia is reckless, hot-blooded and outspoken, while Eila is calm, careful and more reserved. This does cause a good bit of tension between the two.
  • Wonder Twin Powers: Elia is able to create devices and weapons with different functions, but they require a specific form of energy that Eila produces in order to work.

Aria Xenon and Lucifer

A woman whose soul was extracted and now permanently resides in a strange biometallic, biomechanical alien. She calls it Lucifer since her soul was sold to it.
  • Ambiguous Robots: Lucifer. It appears to be some kinda biometallic mechanical suit that houses Aria's soul, and it has both organic and mechanical capabilities such as respawning Aria's body should her body be destroyed and firing lasers made of spirit energy.
  • Buxom Is Better: Averted. In contrast to many of my female characters, Aria has a relatively small bust size.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Extremely snarky when it comes to interacting with others.
  • Humongous Mecha: Lucifer can shapeshift into a large building-sized mecha for her to pilot.
  • Ill Girl: As a young girl, she had a spiritual disease that was slowly wasting her away. She managed to get infused with enough spirit/ki energy to help her... a few weeks before she was kidnapped and her soul placed inside Lucifer.
  • Ki Manipulation: Thanks to a soul infusion experiment, Aria's soul produces lots of spiritual Life Energy, and Lucifer uses them to perform Ki-based attacks.
  • Meaningful Name: Aria names the thing her soul is now bound to "Lucifer" since her soul was sold to it.
  • Mechanical Abomination: Lucifer is some kind of bio-mechanical... thing from another plane of existence related to souls.
  • Powered Armor: Thanks to shapeshifting, Lucifer can act as this for her. It's very handy when she needs to get inside an enclosed area since his mecha form is way too big for her.
  • Soul Jar: Lucifer acts as this for Aria. Aria can be physically damaged and even killed, but it will regenerate her quickly if she's hurt or build another body complete with memories if she's killed, or infected by viral/corruptive substances. Fully destroying Lucifer will kill her.
  • The Soulless: Thanks to having her soul removed and placed inside a strange alien being, Aria lacks a soul. She's a perfectly normal Terran (minus the soul) as long as she's within proximity of Lucifer. If she gets too far, she drops dead immediately but revives once he gets within range.
  • Soul Power: Lucifer is capable of manipulating souls as well as Life Energy, often using Aria's massive reserves to power his attacks.

    Characters from an unnamed work

Prince Lyf

"Fruits and vegetables are healthy, unless you cross me."
Son of the ruler of the Land of Verdure, who is trying to stop the war between his land and Sugar's after his father was captured by the Queen of Sweets.
  • Ambiguously Human: Lyf appears to be human but... his internal biology is very weird and made of ever-shifting fruits and vegetable cross sections.
  • Bamboo Technology: Several of his weapons are made of... fruits and vegetables. And yet, they somehow work thanks to magic.
  • This Banana is Armed: Several of his weapons can be made into a compact mode based on the fruit/vegetable they're on. They're capable of immediately transforming and firing a shot off if needed.
  • Blazing Inferno Hellfire Sauce: Any Chilli or Pepper based attacks will cause actual flames to appear and are his primary method of fire attacks.
  • Bonus Boss: Beating the final boss with Sugar will allow you to face him in the post-game segment, where he channels (and manages to control) the power of a plant-based Eldritch Abomination to fight in a duel. Naturally this gives him a good number of Secret A.I. Moves.
  • Drunk on Milk: Any food or drink that isn't plant-based or water will cause him to get drunk if he ingests them. This even gives him a literal version of the trope.
  • Edible Ammunition: Par the course, since most of his ammunition are various fruits and vegetables with exaggerated traits (such as chillies being Blazing Inferno Hellfire Sauce).
  • Emergency Weapon: A carrot-sword which he uses if the fight is taken to melee. Otherwise, he usually sticks with ranged/magic attacks.
  • Foil: To Sugar. He's a calm, laid-back Nice Guy with some less noble hidden motives and desires, as compared to the fiery-tempered, overly excitable Sugar who's a Jerkass but is a kind person deep down.
  • Food-Based Superpowers: His powers are based around fruits and vegetables, although this also extends to plants in general.
  • Green Thumb: Most of his weaponry and magic are based around fruits and vegetables.
  • Guys Smash, Girls Shoot: While it's inverted by having his Weapon Of Choice being various guns and Sugar's being a candycane, it's subverted in that both Sugar and him learn equal amounts of melee and ranged abilities.
  • Hammerspace: Several of his ranged weaponry are taken out of here. He usually grabs them from behind his back.
  • Healing Factor: If he's dismembered, vines would eventually grow out of the dismembered area and reform the dismembered part.
  • Humanoid Abomination: A very downplayed example, he looks human on the outside, but his insides are ever-shifting, ever-morphing fruit/vegetable flesh. If one dismembered him at the shoulder joint, the flesh cross section that appears could be either watermelon with juice "blood", or a cross section of celery, or apple, or carrot, or any other fruit/vegetable. And despite all of this he can easily function like a regular toon human. If this wasn't food, he'd definitely be a far more nightmarish version of this trope.
  • Mage Marksman: A skilled gun-user as well as a powerful plant magic user.
  • Made of Bologna: A strange variation- instead of flesh and blood, or a single uniform shade of red, there's... various forms of plant cross sections instead. Note that each time this happens, the substance shown tends to vary. And he definitely tends to get dismembered very often (and put back together with ease).
  • Multicoloured Hair: His hair is green with red/yellow/orange stripes near his sides.
  • Multi-Ranged Master: Carries several ranged weapons on him, most of them based off fruits.
  • Power Copying: Against his own men. He usually just taps them to absorb their ability and then gains the ability to summon a gun-based weapon based on their ability.
  • Plant Person: Maybe. His flesh and insides are ever-shifting fruit and vegetable cross-sections, but he appears fully human on the outside.
  • Shout-Out: Several of his abilities would not be out of place in a Plants Vs Zombies series game, however, they're also aversions to their PVZ counterparts. For example, his Grapeshot is a shotgun-type weapon instead of a bomb that explodes into many bouncy shots, while his coconut-based ability is an armor rather than an explosive cannonball.
  • Toon Physics: Thanks to being in a more comical work, he exhibits traits of this. Non-lethal dismemberment, stretchy animations, being Squashed Flat instead of turning into paste, etc. That said, getting hurt these ways still causes him to feel a huge amount of pain and discomfort, and enough punishment will cause him to give up on fighting.
  • Warrior Prince: A very capable combatant who even goes lengths to reluctantly fight the troops on his side in order to stop the war between two nations.

Princess Sugar

"You know what people say about sugar being bad for your health? Well..." -lashes out with her candy cane weapon-
Daughter of the ruler of the Land of Sugar, who is trying to confront her mother for throwing her out of the kingdom and starting the war.
  • A Handful for an Eye: Can create sour powder in her hand and throw that at her opponent's eyes. It's far worse than sand considering that there's acid in it.
  • Ambiguously Human: Sugar appears to be human but... her internal biology is very weird and made of ever-shifting candy.
  • Badass Princess: Fights through her own citizens under her brainwashed mother's rule to save her.
  • Break the Haughty: If she's beaten at the end of the game as the post-final Bonus Boss, she doesn't take it well.
  • Bonus Boss: Beating the final boss with Lyf will allow you to face her in the post-game segment, where she channels (and manages to control) the power of the Final Boss diabetes Eldritch Abomination to fight in a duel. Naturally this gives her a good number of Secret A.I. Moves.
  • Cane Fu/Hooks and Crooks: Her weapon of choice is a huge candy cane which she uses to hook opponents' legs to trip them, and to hit them with. It's also a sheath for a much sharper blade.
  • Combat Pragmatist: Known for fighting very dirty. Her main weapon is regularly used to trip her opponent up, she's fond of giving sucker punches, striking the opponent's teeth, or even casting a lemon soda stream or sour powder at the target's eyes.
  • Drunk on Milk: Any food or drink that is healthy or lacking in sugar, even plain water, will cause her to get drunk if she ingests them. She knows this, and sometimes tends to be seen eating a stalk of celery as her form of coping.
  • Foil: To Lyf. Lyf's a calm, laid-back Nice Guy with some less noble hidden motives and desires, as compared to the fiery-tempered, overly excitable Sugar who's a Jerkass but is a kind person deep down.
  • Food-Based Superpowers: Her powers are based on candy and confectionery.
  • Guys Smash, Girls Shoot: Zigzagged. While it's inverted by having her Weapon Of Choice being a huge candy cane and Lyf's being various guns, it's subverted in that both Lyf and her learn equal amounts of melee and ranged abilities.
  • Hammerspace: Several of her melee weaponry are taken out of here. She usually grabs them from behind her back.
  • Healing Factor: If she's dismembered and doesn't reattach herself, cake/chocolate/bubblegum/taffy would eventually grow out of the dismembered area and reform the dismembered part.
  • Humanoid Abomination: A very downplayed example, she looks human on the outside, but her insides are ever-shifting, ever-morphing sweet food. If one dismembered her at the shoulder joint, the flesh cross section that appears could be either cake with chocolate "blood", or hard candy, or marshmallow, or bubblegum, or any other sweet food. And despite all of this she can easily function like a regular toon human. If this wasn't food, she'd definitely be a far more nightmarish version of this trope.
  • Improbable Weapon User: Her melee weapon of choice is a candy cane, which is actually a sheath to a very sharp sword.
  • Jerkass: In contrast to Lyf, she's, mean, arrogant, brash, hot tempered and always tries to get her way. That said...
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: She does care a lot for her citizens and those who help her and is actually quite kind.
  • Made of Bologna: A strange variation- instead of flesh and blood, or a single uniform shade of red, there's... various forms of candy instead. Note that each time this happens, the substance shown tends to vary. And she definitely tends to get dismembered very often (and put back together with ease).
  • Magic Knight: She's skilled at both melee combat as well as having powerful magic.
  • Multicoloured Hair: Her hair is mainly pink and yellow (and tastes like bubblegum).
  • Personality Powers: Inverted. You'd expect a princess with candy, ice cream and sugar based powers to be an overly sweet girl, but she's quite the arrogant jerk. After all, Sugar is bad for your health... in more ways than one.
  • Pet the Dog: After defeating Iceborg, Sugar restores him to his original form and vows to treat him better from then on. And she actually does.
  • Power Copying: Against the Candy Squad. She can just copy them by touching them and absorbing energy after beating them, butshe'd prefer to eat part of her defeated opponent to unlock more of her latent powers (while asserting her dominance).
  • Power Fist: Can cover her hand in rock candy and use it as a punch.
  • Shout-Out: Basically the princess of a candy kingdom not unlike Princess Lolly or Vanellope. Also has a Transformation Ray that turns people into confectionery, not unlike Majin Buu's Candy Beam.
  • Slapstick Knows no Gender: Gets several amusing injuries throughout the course of her work, perhaps even moreso than Lyf.
  • Toon Physics: Thanks to being in a more comical work, she exhibits traits of this. Non-lethal dismemberment, stretchy animations, being Squashed Flat instead of turning into paste, etc. That said, getting hurt these ways still causes her to feel a huge amount of pain and discomfort, and enough punishment will cause her to give up on fighting.
  • The Tooth Hurts: One of her more Combat Pragmatist tactics is to strike at her opponent's teeth with really hard candy. This usually causes lots of teeth being outright removed.
"They say that sweets are bad for your teeth... Oh, how right they are!"
  • Transformation Ray: Her most dangerous ability is to fire rays from her hands/fingers that turn targets into sweet food.
  • Vaudeville Hook: Uses her candy cane like this if somebody is behaving idiotically in her eyes. Mostly used to tell them to shut up and stop acting that way.

Tropes for the Candy Squad

  • Anthropomorphic Food: All of them are living sweet food and drinks.
  • Anti-Villain: Several of them aren't even evil at all, just fighting on the opposing side of the "war".
  • Cartoon Physics: Thanks to being in a more comical work, they exhibit traits of this. Such as non-lethal dismemberment, stretchy animations, being Squashed Flat instead of turning into paste, etc. That said, getting hurt these ways still causes them to feel a huge amount of pain and discomfort, and enough punishment will cause them to give up on fighting.
  • Edible Ammunition: It's a given, considering that almost everything in their land is made of candy, soda, or wrappers.
  • Fantastic Racism: Towards healthy food, since the healthy food are respected by "humans" while inhabitants from candy land are considered as "junk".
  • Food Theme Naming: Most of them are named after some form of sweet foods.
  • Quirky Miniboss Squad: They're a weird bunch of guys who take orders from Candy Land's ruler.

Syrup

Represents: Caramel/Toffee and the Fire element

  • Mama Bear: Mainly attacks the player character because they were trespassing on her mountain, and was trying to protect her eggs. That, and she was given orders to attack them.
  • Fluffy the Terrible: She's a goddamn dragon named... "Syrup".
  • Our Dragons Are Different: A dragon made of caramel and sugar, no less. She even breathes out hot caramel and spits out burning sugar fireballs!

Iceberg / Iceborg

Represents: Ice cream, Ice lollies, and the Ice element
An anthropomorphic ice cream named Iceberg who tends to be the Sugar's punching bag. When the war started, he joined the Queen's side in order to get back at her, but... he got a bit more than he expected. Now he's a part-ice cream, part freezer robot monstrosity.
  • And I Must Scream: As Iceborg, he's partially controlled by the robot with very limited ability to think on his own. Even the normally Jerkass Sugar cannot stand for this and restores him to normal after defeating him.
  • Eye Scream: After he's made into Iceborg, his eyes are replaced with a menacing looking 3D display.
  • Cyborg: The Anthropomorphic Food version of it, he's part ice-cream and part robotic freezer.
  • An Ice Person: The cybernetics he received allow him to fire freezing ice cream, summon spikes made of flavoured ice, and fire out freezing air to freeze Sugar.
  • Mistreatment-Induced Betrayal: His main reason for joining the Queen against Sugar was due to being badly treated by Sugar.
  • Ninja Pirate Zombie Robot: Gets made into a cyborg freezer ice cream.
  • Punny Name: Iceborg is basically Iceberg + Cyborg.
  • Unwilling Roboticization: It's clear that he wasn't too willing to undergo the cyborgification procedure, evidenced by his expressions of constant pain from the cybernetics.

Zing

Represents: Sour Candy, Popping Candy and the Lightning element

  • Astonishingly Appropriate Appearance: His mechanical suit appears to look like a container of popping or sour candy, what with all the spark and electrical-looking decals on a dark-colored base.
  • Blob Monster: His actual true form is animated blue sour gel candy.
  • Kill It with Water: He's vulnerable to water, since that causes his popping candy grenade pack to become soaked... and his pop rocks to explode.
  • Logical Weakness: As he carries a backpack full of highly explosive popping candy, drenching it in water and especially soda will cause it to explode and deal heavy damage to him.
  • Rule of Cool: REALLY sour candy isn't meant to be actually electrified, but this guy's is.
  • Shock and Awe: Some of his sour candy is so shocking and acidic that it is literally electrified.
  • Throw Down the Bomblet: He attacks with exploding pop rocks which are powerful enough to crack rock.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: He's vulnerable to water since it causes the highly explosive pop rocks within his suit to explode.

Jawbreaker

Represents: Hard Candy (such as jawbreakers, rock candy, lollipops) and the Earth element

  • Collapsing Ceiling Boss: One of his attacks has him smash the ground a few times causing jawbreaker boulders to rain down and roll into his opponent.
  • Dishing Out Dirt: Attacks with jawbreaker boulders, causing ground shockwaves and fissures, and is literally made of rock (candy).
  • Improbable Weapon User: His weapon of choice is a lollipop.
  • Logical Weakness: Explosive weapons will shatter his armor.
  • Rock Monster: He's a golem-like being made of hard candy.
  • Losing Your Head: Inverted, when he's beaten his entire body breaks apart except for his head.

Cotton

Represents: Cotton Candy and the Air element

Major Marsh (and his Marshmallow Cake Battleship)

Represents: Marshmallow, Cake, and the Light element (for his battleship)

    Other horrible things from Metaspace

Varlet

A hostile being from Metaspace with an insanely overpowered ability. Thankfully, it isn't very bright.
  • Blade Spam: Will constantly use this as it advances towards its target. If it gets too far, it resorts to a Storm of Blades.
  • Breakable Weapons: Every time it's successfully hurt, it'll despawn its blades created from the Storm of Blades.
  • Close-Range Combatant: For the most part, its attacks are melee and will attempt to close the distance. In fact, it's at its most vulnerable when it performs its one ranged attack.
  • Hoist by Their Own Petard: Practically the only way to defeat it since it can only be harmed by its own self and weaponry.
  • Humanoid Abomination: It's a humanoid being... that is eldritch and unknown in nature.
  • Nigh-Invulnerable: It's immune to all harm as long as said harm isn't its own.
  • No Man of Woman Born: Can only be harmed by itself. Its own weaponry does count, unfortunately it's enough of a Master Swordsman to avoid hitting itself with its wielded blades, that and disarming it counts as a form of harm that isn't its own. Its Storm of Blades however provides an opening for its opponent to pick up one of them and throw it back...
  • Perpetual-Motion Monster: Being a Metaspace being, it's The Needless, and it also has infinite stamina and as such will constantly and relentlessly attack. The only time it won't be on the attack is when it's screaming in pain from its own swords stabbing into it.
  • Puzzle Boss: Can't be harmed the normal way, and requires that you find a way to capitalize its weakness towards itself.
  • Storm of Blades: One of its abilities has it rain giant laser swords from the air. It's also the only move that allows its opponent to kill it, since said swords can be thrown back at it to impale it.
  • Story-Breaker Power: Its ability is to be immune to all harm as long as said harm isn't its own. Harm also includes things like being thrown around, turned into a useless form, status debuffs, affected by precognition, time/space/reality/conceptual level manipulation, and pretty much anything that can negatively affect it. Thankfully, it's not very bright, and is eventually defeated by its own weaponry because it used an attack that could be used against it.
  • Symbolic Blood: When it's pierced by its own weapons, strange "particles" will fly out from the "wound".
  • Tactical Suicide Boss: Varlet would be completely invincible if not for the fact that if its target gets too far, it summons a Storm of Blades... which can be picked up and used on it.

The Dualists, O-Fencer and D-Fencer

Two large humanoids locked in combat with one another. Like Varlet, they have very conditional vulnerability.
  • Death or Glory Attack: Their final attack, where they both attempt to stab into you at high speeds from opposite sides. Fail to dodge, and it's a One-Hit Kill for you. Dodge, and they stab each other, fulfilling the prophecy that needs to be met to destroy them.
  • Deadly Dodging: How you have to defeat them. When they use their Limit Break, you need to dodge the final strike, causing them to stab each other at the same time and thus fulfilling the prophecy that they can only be killed by each others' blades at the same time.
  • Dual Boss: Notable in that the boss is actually fighting each other, but they attempt to drag you into the fight.
  • Flynning: They initially "start" the battle like this. Then the swordplay gets a lot more violent.
  • Hoist by Their Own Petard: They're beaten by making them miss their final attack, causing them to stab each other with their own weapons.
  • No Man of Woman Born: Not only can they only be harmed by each others' weapons, but they can only be killed at the same time. Which stabbing each other at the same time tends to do.

???

An eldritch being with the power to cut communication.
  • Brown Note: Emits a "signal" that causes anything that it touches/is within the area of influence to "lose communication" gradually... or quickly, if they're near it.
  • Heart Is an Awesome Power: It has the ability to cut communication. This not only means that it can prevent its victims from talking, it can prevent them from sensing anything, act as a Power Nullifier or cause Power Incontinence since they cannot communicate with their powers, and it's also revealed that it can sever one's communication to reality and even abstract concepts, essentially erasing them from the time/space/alt reality/conceptual continuum. It's one of the deadliest opponents that the protagonists have to face by far.
  • "Instant Death" Radius: Just being around it will slowly cause it to cut communications from a small level, eventually cutting off senses, mental, power-based, and finally conceptual connections. As one gets closer to it, said ability increases exponentially in intensity.
  • Semantic Superpower: Its ability is to "cut communications". This doesn't just include jamming signals or preventing people from talking, it even allows it to shut off senses, nullify powers or cause Power Incontinence (cutting off communication with the victim's power), and can even sever one's communication to reality and abstract concepts.
  • Stupidity-Inducing Attack: By cutting communications with the nerves within its victims' brains/AI/mental matrices, it can make them stupid.

"Mysterious Caped Guy"

A man who appears to have a cape for hair. Hails from the Dark Web equivalent of Metaspace.
  • Anti-True Sight: His ability to obfuscate himself from anything causes all forms of True Sight to fail and see him as a normal person.
  • Arson Murder And Life Saving: Is known for assassination, counterfeiting, fraud, reality hacking, and helping/protecting outsiders who end up the Dark Web.
  • A Form You Are Comfortable With: Appears to look like a human, as he's the human face of the dark web.
  • Brown Note:
    • The Obfuscate ability partially works this way, causing any information about him (even recorded information) to become utterly nonsense and irrelevant in the eyes of anyone or anything. It's so potent it even fools Omniscience.
    • He also uses a weaker one that makes it such that other entities won't even have any motivation or even think about asking for his name. Even recorded "What is your name?" messages from machines will not work, the machine will say something else instead. If an individual is able to ask for his name, it alerts him that they're capable of penetrating the obfuscation... and that they usually have to be silenced.
  • Cape Snag: Subverted. The part of his cape (actually part of his hair) that's caught will break off to prevent this. This is something that pisses him off greatly, though.
  • Children Are a Waste: His views on people having children, and also because he's absolutely terrible in trying to take care of children.
  • Consummate Liar: Only when it comes to information pertaining about him. It helps that any information he tells about himself, true or not, will be considered as lies/nonsense/completely disregardable.
  • A Form You Are Comfortable With: Appears to take on the form of a man, and does so in order to interact with humans that enter the Dark Web.
  • Fighting a Shadow: As an extension of a greater being that can easily make another copy, any time he's killed is merely this.
  • Forgettable Character: One of his main traits is the ability to tamper with any information, including that of himself. All information of him, be it written/audio/recorded/visual/mentally transmitted will be considered "nonsense"/unintelligible and disregarded. The only information he doesn't obfuscate most of the time is that his cape is his hair.
  • Heart Is an Awesome Power: His ability to tamper with information allows him manipulate untruths and lies. This means he can effectively do anything by making things he cannot do into a lie, No-Sell by obfuscating his presence in reality, or shut down enemy powers by making his opponents power into lies. Furthermore, he's immune to Awesomeness by Analysis, Power Copying, any form of Clairvoyance/scrying, any form of fate- based abilities and cannot be adapted to in any way, since those require information, past, present or future.
  • Humanoid Abomination: Appears to look like a man... is actually an extension of something far more powerful.
  • Invisibility Cloak: Technically a Perception Filter cloak via his ability to obfuscate his data. This makes him untargetable by any means for its in-game effect.
  • No-Sell: He's completely immune to being affected by Awesomeness by Analysis, Power Copying, any form of Clairvoyance/scrying, any form of fate- based abilities and his abilities do not trigger Adaptive Ability, since he (and other Dark Web denizens) have the natural ability to obfuscate any information about them, which makes any analyzing of or adapting to of them useless. At full power he can do this to pretty much anything by obfuscating them from reality/concept itself.
  • One-Hit Kill: If he's actually playing serious, he takes out a blade that WILL erase anything without fail and can't be resisted/blocked/phased through in any way. It can be dodged, but due to several of his powers being able to transit to any point in time/space/dimension and causality manipulation, it's near-impossible to.
  • Perception Filter: Uses his obfuscate power to Invisibility Cloak himself this way, making all information of him obfuscated and treated as irrelevant. Visual, audio, written, energy signature and all other traces of him are thrown aside by all forms of perception, allowing him to be able to stand in front of something and not be recognized.
  • Physical God: As a being who is tied to the higher-ups of metaspace, he has exceedingly strong powers.
  • The Spook: His ability to tamper with and obfuscate information about him makes it such that most people don't know anything about him. The only information he lets others know is that "he's a guy that has a cape made of his hair".
  • Story-Breaker Power:
    • Could easily clear most of the main Enforcer/Defiance conflict if he wanted to, unfortunately he's so half-assed he almost always fights at a tiny fraction of his power (by not bringing along his best equipments). He's also usually self-interested thus doing most things on a whim and as such wouldn't even bother with it. Finally, he really doesn't want much publicity.
    • It's revealed that his accomplices/acquaintances on the Dark Web also have this. An assassin that can destroy anything (including things that can't be destroyed), a counterfeiter that can copy/clone anything (including things that can't be copied), a transporter that can transport anything to any location in any space/time/universe/dimensional level, a weapons dealer who sells weapons that break laws of reality and concepts, a hacker that can hack reality up to and beyond abstract concepts, etc.
  • Superpower Lottery: His full list of powers are completely unknown, but at unrestrained, no-longer-screwing-around power, he is capable of:
    • Obfuscating any info about himself, making any written/recorded/spoken info about him useless. It's also revealed he can apply obfuscation to anything else, meaning that he can nullify anything including conceptual attacks by making things "nonsense" in the context of reality and causality.
    • Transitioning to any point of time/space/dimension, up to infinite dimension, copied from his transporter acquaintance.
    • Pulling out ridiculously overpowered weapons at any time, thanks to having bought them from his weapon seller acquaintance.
    • Hack reality up to higher-dimensional concepts, thanks to his hacker acquaintance.
    • Causality manipulation, allowing him to have a guaranteed chance of hitting his opponents without fail, thanks to skillset from his assassin acquaintance.
    • Can return from any destruction, even being totally and permanently erased from existence thanks to an even higher entity respawning a new copy of him with the exact same abilities.
    • It's revealed that he's part of the collective that is the Dark Web itself... a sentient larger-than-omniverse that's one of The Omnipotent end-level beings in the verse.
  • Teleport Spam: Frequently pulls this off in battle. It's actually done by being able to transition in any point of time/space/dimension.
  • Willfully Weak: Is generally too half-assed to fight at even a fraction of his full power. As such he's usually a tough opponent, but not unbeatable. When he gets serious, though...
  • Wretched Hive: The Dark Web where he hails from... is filled with very shady and terrible characters.

    Death Battle Ideas
  • Bacterion Empire vs. The Bydo - Alien menaces from two famous Horizontal Scrolling Shooter games.
    • This would be a stomp in the Bydo's favour. The Bydo have Time Travel, a home base that is far harder to access than Bacterion's, and a leader that can actually fight back properly unlike Bacterion. The Bydo's wave-particle duality also gives them a great amount of defense against weaponry that isn't specialized to affect both waves and particles — humanity's best weapon against them is made from Bydo themselves. Finally, Bacterion's far greater amount of boss units turns into an outright liability — while Bacterion is infectious towards matter, the Bydo's infectiousness on the wave-particle level and thus capability to infect and assimilate machinery and even thought allows them to take over and turn Bacterion's Boss Rush against themselves — let alone take over Bacterion itself. It would end in a manner similar to Ultron vs. Sigma, with the Bydo assimilating Bacterion to achieve victory.
  • The Vek vs. The Bugsnax - Insectoid creatures with a living island for their hives.
    • At first glance, this seems like a joke battle in the Vek's favour, what with the Vek being Kaiju-sized and the Bugsnax being tiny and looking like food. However, this may actually be in favour of the Bugsnax depending on how many Bugsnax a Vek would need to be force-fed to turn into snax, and even eating a few Bugsnax might be enough to mindcontrol a Vek against its own kind — an effective maneuver considering that the Vek are just as damaging to themselves as they are to mechs. It's been shown that the Vek are somewhat Weak-Willed — the Secret Squad consists of 3 Vek cyborgs who are completely obedient to humanity and never once turn against them, meaning that a snax addiction is already likely to cause Vek infighting. If the Bugsnax can successfully turn a Vek into snax, it'll give Snaktooth Island a lot of resources to create more Bugsnax to repeat this process.

My personal Tv Tropes Drinking Game
  • Drink a shot if you see Touhou, Avatar: The Last Airbender and My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic on the same trope page (or if it's a split page, on their respective page sections of that trope).
    • EXCEPTION: Those under Fan Fic do not count.

I have created a game called Arc Angle, a Bullet Hell "Shoot 'Em Up" where your main goal is to deflect and return enemy shots with a beam. A second, top-down run-and-gun Action Game called Grid Warrior has been completed.
