Tropers / Existing 87

Existing 87 is an unemployable introvert. His free time is spent looking out of the window at his vibrant, tranquil home village; attending printed, visual and audible recordings, watching telly with his family, and planning a series of novels. He also enjoys the odd walk, bookshop visit and cinematic excursion.

This intermittent online commentator provides examples of:

• Asperger's Syndrome: Yes. Solitary playground wanders, inordinate timidity, social misinterpretation and failure to grasp instruction raised a few eyebrows.
• Big Eater: Always have been. Some brains, it's thought, don't process pleasurable sensation as closely as others, so feel a need to eat more. Apparently, being on the autistic spectrum may cause this.
• Basement-Dweller: Live with me parents. Don't see what's wrong with being close to your family. Anyway, spatial and cognitive impairment rather limit my job prospects.
• Country Mouse: Live in a rural area, and used to help with basic stuff on me Dad's farm.
• Fat Slob: Defied; can't abide mess.
• Formerly Fat: Aged seventeen, lost five stone for an operation. Later put a bit back on, though.
• Gentle Giant: Quite tall and broad, and highly averse to confrontation.
• No Sense of Direction: I don't so much get lost as turn around to find things magically aren't there anymore.
• Oop North: Aye.
• Shrinking Violet: Inordinately sensitive to raised or sharpened voices. Apparently, Asperger's may inhibit desensitisation.
