Trivia / Power Rangers Beast Morphers

Go To

  • Acting for Two:
    • In season one, Colby Strong and Liana Ramirez as Blaze and Roxy’s virtual avatars while the real ones were left in comas until the avatars’ destruction. In season two, Strong and Ramirez double as Blaze and Roxy’s robotic clones while the real ones remain awake and functional.
    • In “Artist Anonymous”, Kelson Henderson plays the humanoid artist form of Keytron, while Cruise, his continuing primary role for the season, gets a a few lines in during the Megazord battle.
  • Approval of God:
    • Ayame Misaki, the actress for Escape, approves of her counterpart Roxy's recolored suit. In particular, she seemed excited at the fact a version of her character was getting a toy since Escape didn't.
    • Hiroya Matsumoto, Masato Jin's actor, reacted favorably to the trailer on Twitter, calling it "pretty cool."
    • During the Tokyo Film Festival 2020, all four actors were super enthusiastic about the idea of getting Beast Morphers dubbed in Japan, and Katsuhiro Suzuki and Arisa Komiya (Hiromu and Yoko) were basically begging whoever's in charge of dubbing Power Rangers to let them dub their counterparts.
  • The Cast Showoff: Continuing the grand Power Rangers tradition, Jacqueline Scislowski (Zoey the Yellow Ranger) had martial arts training prior to the series.note
  • Cast the Runner-Up: Colby Strong (Blaze) and Liana Ramirez (Roxy) initially auditioned for Devon and Zoey, which adds irony to their characters being the intended Ranger candidates.
  • Character Outlives Actor: "Grid Connection" confirms that the Mighty Morphin Yellow Ranger seen in the Super Megaforce finale is Trini, as "Legendary Battle" premiered a little over thirteen years after Thuy Trang's death. There's even a behind the scenes video that makes explicit mention of Trini and its old audio reused. She eventually would be confirmed dead a few years later in Once and Always, in which she is killed on-screen.
  • Cowboy BeBop at His Computer: The TV guide for channel 5 (the Singaporean one) on MeWatch mislabelled season 2 as "Super Beast Morphers".
  • Directed by Cast Member: The Latin American Spanish dub of the series is directed by Erika Rendón, who voices Commander Shaw.
  • Executive Meddling: Despite being the first series under Hasbro, Haim Saban was creative consultant and it still shows. According to Simon Bennett on a Rangerboard discussion in 2022:
    • Story elements could be created, but not expanded upon. This is why the Ranger Vault comes out of nowhere and feels like something of an Ass Pull.
    • Robo-Blaze and Robo-Roxy are expressively not Evil Rangers. Evil Rangers could only be heroes who are “magically” turned evil and had to be “cured” by episode’s end. As well, their Villain Decay was mandated in the second season as bad guys had to be defeated at the end of the episode.
  • Executive Veto:
    • The cast tried suggesting an episode focused on Ben and Betty, but were turned down by Hasbro.
    • Abraham Rodriguez tried to have Nate spout Gratuitous Spanish akin to Antonio, but was shot down.
  • Flashback with the Other Darrin:
    • With the exceptions of Geoff Dolan (Koragg), Chris Graham (Leanbow) and Mark Ferguson (Gekkor) who dubbed over their own lines, the majority of the characters' voices in archive footage for "Making Bad" are dubbed over with stand-in actors native to New Zealand, who also happen to be previous Power Rangers alumni:
    • Stig Eldred, who played Master Rilla in Power Rangers Jungle Fury dubbed over Robert Axelrod's voice as Lord Zedd. note
    • Susan Brady reprises her Power Rangers Mystic Force role as Rita Repulsa, dubbed over Barbara Goodson's voice in Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers clips.
    • Antonia Prebble, who played Clare in Mystic Force, dubbed over Melody Perkins (Astronema/Karone).
    • Beth Allen, who played Vella in Power Rangers Operation Overdrive, dubbed over Peta Rutter (Udonna).note
    • Dan Musgrove, who voiced James Navarro in Power Rangers Dino Charge, dubbed over Christopher Kayman Lee as Andros, in addition to providing the voice of Connor in place of James Napier in “Grid Connection”.
  • Make-A-Wish Contribution: Within the cast, there exists a non-canonical Beast Morphers Orange Ranger: Tyler Rinker, an 8-year old boy from New Jersey whose greatest wish is to be an Orange Power Ranger so he can make the world a safer place for everyone. Tyler's wish came true at the 2019 Make-A-Wish New Jersey Gala, complete with a costume for him and a Comic-Con exclusive comic variant cover.
  • Marth Debuted in "Smash Bros.": The second half of Beast Morphers adapts the crossover episodes with Space Sheriff Gavan: The Movie, adapting the titular Legacy Character Gavan Type-G as Captain Chaku.
  • The Other Darrin:
  • The Other Marty: Jason Bischoff confirmed that he and Melissa Flores did some redubbing work for "Making Bad" before they left and their ADR work was replaced.
  • Playing Against Type:
    • Veteran Power Rangers voice actors Emmet Skilton and Charlie McDermott respectively voice Beast Bots Jax and Smash. These two were known for voicing numerous villains in previous seasons.
    • Jamie Linehan voices Steel here. In the past, he voiced multiple villains in Ninja Steel. Alluded to in Hypnotic Halloween when his hypnotized voice sounds more in-line with a MOTW. And then, he voices the villain of Vargoyle.
  • Role Reprise: Along with the aforementioned Geoff Dolan, Chris Graham, and Mark Ferguson.
  • Sequel Gap: The series' penultimate episode reveals the series to be a Stealth Sequel to Power Rangers RPM, due to it establishing Evox is really Venjix, following up on a Cliffhanger from ten years ago.
  • Short Run in Peru: The second season's second half debuted on Pop in the UK during June 2020.
  • Spoiled by the Merchandise: Toys of Evox depict the form known in Go-Busters as Messiah Cell. Therefore, we knew he would eventually get a body.
  • Troubled Production: While filming itself was relatively smooth, the biggest problem stemmed from the costumes. Because Go-Busters ended five years before production of Beast Morphers began, many of the monster suits had significantly deteriorated in the meantime or had possibly been repurposed into other monsters leading for many of them to be completely remade. The Ranger suits suffered from this too with the director commenting that by the time they filmed the finale, the pants of two of them were being held together with black tape because they had literally come apart at the seams.
  • Uncredited Role: Neither Michael Taber nor Camille Hyde were credited for their reprisals as Riley and Shelby for the teamups, which gave the impression from fans that they got the Fake Shemp treatment before Brennan Mejia clarified that they did indeed reprise their roles (see Word of Saint Paul below).
  • What Could Have Been: Enough for its own page
  • Word of Saint Paul: After several debates on whether they did indeed voice their characters for the teamup, Tyler's actor Brennan Mejia confirmed that Michael Taber and Camille Hyde did indeed reprise their roles for them but were unavailable to show up on set in New Zealand, thus voicing them instead, hence why their characters are in their Ranger forms for the entirety of the teamup.
  • You Look Familiar:
    • Miriama Smith, Elsa/Principal Randall from Power Rangers: Dino Thunder is next to get in on this, playing Roxy's aunt, Regina Collins.
    • The next episode, we get the return of James Davies, though not as Chase — rather, he plays Juan, the lead character of a dancing game. Davies returned as Chase for the dino teamup, though.
